The objective of this study is to study the profile of work accidents declared to the Parakou agency of the National Social ...Introduction: Work accidents (WA) have consequences for both the individual and the company. The objective of this study is to study the profile of work accidents declared to the Parakou agency of the National Social Security Fund (CNSS) from 2015 to 2021. Method: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study with retrospective data collection. It concerned workers affiliated with the CNSS in Parakou, victims of declared WA whose file was available and exploitable. The sampling was exhaustive. Data was collected from registers and worker records. The variables studied were socio-demographic and related to the accident. They were analyzed using R version 4.1 software. Results: The annual incidence rate of WA varied from 5.8% in 2015 to 1.7% in 2021. The victims were 90.6% male. There were more subjects aged 28 to 37 years (37.1%). Workers and laborers were the most concerned. Fractures (22.9%) were the major lesions. At 38.5% they sat in the thoracic limbs and at 22.5% in the pelvic limbs. The majority (63.6%) of these accidents occurred in the workplace. The processing industry sector was mainly (52.1%) the place of accidents. Conclusion: The prevalence of WA declared to the agency of the National Social Security Fund of Parakou from 2015 to 2021 is decreasing. The most affected were young people. It is important to assess their socio-economic impacts.展开更多
Hydatid disease is considered as an important emerging neglected disease worldwide.Cystic echinococcosis is a neglected disease of public health significance in many low and middle-income countries.The objective of ou...Hydatid disease is considered as an important emerging neglected disease worldwide.Cystic echinococcosis is a neglected disease of public health significance in many low and middle-income countries.The objective of our study was to determine the epidemiological profile of human hydatidosis in Tlemcen.A prospective study was conducted at University Hospital Center(UHC)of Tlemcen,from 2003 to 2018 from the declaration of notifiable diseases.Data entry and analysis was done using Epi-info software 6.One hundred and fifty-eight(158)patients were declared during 16 years of registartion at the UHC of Tlemcen.Ninety three point zero three percent(93.03%)of the reports of cases were received from the surgical services and 6 cases from the pneumology department.A slight female predominance was noted with sex-ratio(Females/Males):1.15.More than half of the patients were subjects over 40 years old.Three cases were noted in children.The average age was 42.38±17.14 years.The liver was the most frequent organ involved in our study followed by pulmonary localization.Fifty one point eight seven(51.87%)of cases were from rural areas and 46.2%from urban areas.Human hydatidosis remains an under-reported and neglected disease in Tlemcen whose fight is essentially based on preventive measures and requires multisectoral collaboration.展开更多

Our study describes the reported rate of the Institutional Review Board(IRB)approval,declaration of Helsinki(DoH),and informed consent in the case reports and case series and investigates factors associated with the e...Our study describes the reported rate of the Institutional Review Board(IRB)approval,declaration of Helsinki(DoH),and informed consent in the case reports and case series and investigates factors associated with the ethical approval report.We searched PubMed for case reports and case series from 2006 to 2017.Annually,we obtained the first 20 articles of a case report cluster from 20 distinct publications.This analysis initially contained at least 2400 papers,with 100 papers each study design and year.Only 26(5.4%)of 480 included studies reported IRB approval,DoH approval,and participant informed consent;58(12.1%)reported two out of three ethical statements(DoH,informed consent,IRB);and 151(31.5%)reported only one,leading to nearly 245 studies(51.0%)did not report any ethical approval item.Both clusters mentioned the DoH the least.Only years,ages,ethical item types,and cluster types were associated with ethical reporting practices.This study found the serious under‐reporting of ethical practices in both case reports and case series.展开更多
