There exist many problems in producing four-way valve of HPb59-1 alloy for an air-conditioner by traditional solid state hot forging,i.e.larger forming loads,lower material utilization,larger subsequent machining allo...There exist many problems in producing four-way valve of HPb59-1 alloy for an air-conditioner by traditional solid state hot forging,i.e.larger forming loads,lower material utilization,larger subsequent machining allowance and nonuniform microstructure.For this reason,based on the orthogonal test,the semisolid diecasting process of a certain type of four-way valve was simulated with FLOW-3D.The simulation results show that the optimized process parameters are:the pouring temperature of 897.25 ?C,the shot velocity of 2.0 m/s and the preheated die temperature of 260 C.The simulation results demonstrate that the cavity can be filled smoothly and completely,the surface defects are small,the temperature field and the pressure field are uniform,and the casting quality is satisfactory.The effectiveness and availability of applying this technology are well verified by the numerical simulation.展开更多

A salt core, named a fusible core in this paper because the salt core can be easily extracted just as holding at a temperature under a solidus temperature of a casting alloy, was developed and applied to produce a fuel control part for automotive GDI engine in high pressure diecasting machine. A different salt material of a lower melting temperature than that of A1 alloy was mixed with a different ceramic particulate to improve a thermo-physical property of fusible core. The thermo-physical property of the fusible core was measured and a weight faction of the ceramic particulate was optimized. The selected core materials were poured in metallic mold by gravity to produce a fusible core for a fuel control part for automotive GDI engine. The fuel control part, which the fusible core was included inside, was successful to fabricate in a conventional diecasting machine with no melting of fusible core during casting.展开更多

In order to better promote the development of diecasting industry in our country, to boost the application of new diecasting technology and techniques, to improve the competitive power of the diecasting enterprises in...In order to better promote the development of diecasting industry in our country, to boost the application of new diecasting technology and techniques, to improve the competitive power of the diecasting enterprises in our country, to extend the international markets and to improve qualities of diecastings more quickly, the activity of evaluating high quality diecastings was organized by Foundry Institution of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (FICMES) during the period of the 5th China International Diecasting Congress & Exhibition. The Excellent Diecastings Evaluation Committee was composed of an independent panel of experts in China’s diecasting industry. In accordance with the evaluation rules of impersonality and impartiality, the Evaluation Committee members, at the site of the exhibition, carefully checked each and all evaluation indexes of the diecastings accepted in the activity, deliberately examined the real diecastings, and inquired of the technicians of the companies taking part in the evaluation activity about the production processes, qualities and other information of the diecastings. After discussion again and again, finally, five diecastings were entitled as the excellent diecastings of the 5th China International Diecasting Conference & Exhibition. In this paper, the effects of rheo-diecast process parameters and T6 heat treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the rheo-diecasting(RDC) semi-solid A390 alloy prepared through pure copper serp...In this paper, the effects of rheo-diecast process parameters and T6 heat treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the rheo-diecasting(RDC) semi-solid A390 alloy prepared through pure copper serpentine channel were investigated. The results indicate that the mechanical properties of the RDC samples change with the pouring temperature and injection pressure. In this case, a lower pouring temperature results in better tensile strength and elongation of the RDC A390 alloy; however, the tensile strength and elongation decrease when the pouring temperature decreases to 660°C. Higher injection pressures result in the improved mechanical properties of the RDC A390 alloy. To some extent, T6 heat treatment improves the tensile strength and ductility of the RDC A390 alloy compared to those of the non-heat treated alloy. However, when the pouring temperature and injection pressure are greater than 670°C and 70 MPa, respectively, the mechanical properties are sharply diminished.展开更多
