The effects of the milling parameters involving shape of powder particles, rotation speed, and ball-to-powder diameter (BPDR) on DEM modeling in the planetary ball mill were investigated. BPDR was varied from 1 to 10. The results revealed that the size and shape of the powder particles do not give a significant change in simulation results when BPDR attains maximum value of 10. The increasing of BPDR leads to the increase of simulation time and size. Hence, the effect of change of the powder particle shape on the calculated data size is not significant. The results also revealed that the increasing rotation speed increases impact energy between powder particles. 展开更多

Analysis and prediction of structural instabilities in open pit mines are an important design and operational consideration for ensuring safety and productivity of the operation. Unstable wedges and blocks occurring at the surface of the pit walls may be identified through three-dimensional(3D) image analysis combined with the discrete fracture network(DFN) approach. Kinematic analysis based on polyhedral modelling can be used for first pass analysis but cannot capture composite failure mechanisms involving both structurally controlled and rock mass progressive failures. A methodology is proposed in this paper to overcome such limitations by coupling DFN models with geomechanical simulations based on the discrete element method(DEM). Further, high resolution photogrammetric data are used to identify valid model scenarios. An identified wedge failure that occurred in an Australian coal mine is used to validate the methodology. In this particular case, the failure surface was induced as a result of the rock mass progressive failure that developed from the toe of the structure inside the intact rock matrix. Analysis has been undertaken to determine in what scenarios the measured and predicted failure surfaces can be used to calibrate strength parameters in the model. 展开更多

针对当前高炉炉料落点预测的不足,文章采用CFD-DEM方法分析高炉炉料轨迹和落点位置,并利用程树森等提出的数学模型验证CFD-DEM模型的准确性。该方法全面考虑多种影响因素,包括科里奥利力、煤气流量、溜槽的旋转速度和倾角等,直观和精准... 针对当前高炉炉料落点预测的不足,文章采用CFD-DEM方法分析高炉炉料轨迹和落点位置,并利用程树森等提出的数学模型验证CFD-DEM模型的准确性。该方法全面考虑多种影响因素,包括科里奥利力、煤气流量、溜槽的旋转速度和倾角等,直观和精准地再现炉料在高炉内的运动过程。结果表明:当溜槽转速为1.05 rad/s时,科里奥利力对焦炭和矿石落点的影响分别达到28%和22%,煤气流非均匀性使焦炭和矿石的落点半径外移2.74%和3.87%。精准预测料流轨迹落点必须综合考虑科里奥利力和煤气流的影响。与数学模型对比,CFD-DEM模型对焦炭和矿石落点半径预测均方根误差分别为0.060 m和0.055 m,最大相对偏差不超过5%,与数学模型预测结果几乎一致,因此能够准确预测高炉炉料轨迹落点,为后续高炉布料操作提供新的理论依据。 展开更多

China's energy supply-and-demand model and two related carbon emission scenarios, including a planned peak scenario and an advanced peak scenario, are designed taking into consideration China's economic development, technological progress, policies, resources, environmental capacity, and other factors. The analysis of the defined scenarios provides the following conclusions: Primary energy and power demand will continue to grow leading up to 2030, and the growth rate of power demand will be much higher than that of primary energy demand. Moreover, low carbonization will be a basic feature of energy supply-and-demand structural changes, and non-fossil energy will replace oil as the second largest energy source. Finally, energy- related carbon emissions could peak in 2025 through the application of more efficient energy consumption patterns and more low-carbon energy supply modes. The push toward decarbonization of the power industry is essential for reducing the peak value of carbon emissions. 展开更多

Planation surfaces (PS) play a major role in reconstruction of the evolutionary history of landforms in local areas. Thus, objective and consistent mapping of planation surfaces from remotely sensed data (e.g., satellite imagery, digital elevation models (DEMs)) is paramount for interpreting the geomorphological evolution. Due to the lack of dated sedimentary covers and the difficulties of com-prehensive field work, the number and age of planation surfaces in the Southwest Hubei (湖北) Prov-ince of China are still controversial. In order to map the PS in the study area, four data visualization techniques including ETM+ false color composite, grey-scale DEM, shaded relief model (SRM) and painted relief model (P M) were examined. It is found that the PRM is the most optimal technique for planation surface mapping. The study area was successfully mapped by visual interpretation of a PRM derived from ASTER GDEM. The mapped PS was divided into five classes in terms of elevation ac-cording to previous studies, varying from 1 700-2 000 (PS1), 1 300-1 500 (PS2), 1 000-1 200 (PS3), 800-900 (PS4) to 500-600 (PS5) m. The results were partially compared with the published works. It is revealed that this method of mapping enjoys a higher accuracy and can reduce the time and ef- fort required in the traditional mapping to a large extent. The results also demonstrated that the PRM is an effective tool for geomorphological fea-ture mapping with considerable accuracy. The pre- liminary results can serve to facilitate locating rep-resentative samples for the planation surfaces dating, thus to determine the ages of PS in the study areas. 展开更多

The geomorphic studies are extremely dependent on the quality and spatial resolution of digital elevation model(DEM)data.The unique terrain characteristics of a particular landscape are derived from DEM,which are responsible for initiation and development of ephemeral gullies.As the topographic features of an area significantly influences on the erosive power of the water flow,it is an important task the extraction of terrain features from DEM to properly research gully erosion.Alongside,topography is highly correlated with other geo-environmental factors i.e.geology,climate,soil types,vegetation density and floristic composition,runoff generation,which ultimately influences on gully occurrences.Therefore,terrain morphometric attributes derived from DEM data are used in spatial prediction of gully erosion susceptibility(GES)mapping.In this study,remote sensing-Geographic information system(GIS)techniques coupled with machine learning(ML)methods has been used for GES mapping in the parts of Semnan province,Iran.Current research focuses on the comparison of predicted GES result by using three types of DEM i.e.Advanced Land Observation satellite(ALOS),ALOS World 3D-30 m(AW3D30)and Advanced Space borne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer(ASTER)in different resolutions.For further progress of our research work,here we have used thirteen suitable geo-environmental gully erosion conditioning factors(GECFs)based on the multi-collinearity analysis.ML methods of conditional inference forests(Cforest),Cubist model and Elastic net model have been chosen for modelling GES accordingly.Variable’s importance of GECFs was measured through sensitivity analysis and result show that elevation is the most important factor for occurrences of gullies in the three aforementioned ML methods(Cforest=21.4,Cubist=19.65 and Elastic net=17.08),followed by lithology and slope.Validation of the model’s result was performed through area under curve(AUC)and other statistical indices.The validation result of AUC has shown that Cforest is the most appropriate model for predicting the GES assessment in three different DEMs(AUC value of Cforest in ALOS DEM is 0.994,AW3D30 DEM is 0.989 and ASTER DEM is 0.982)used in this study,followed by elastic net and cubist model.The output result of GES maps will be used by decision-makers for sustainable development of degraded land in this study area. 展开更多

The distinct element method(DEM) incorporated with a novel bond contact model was applied in this paper to shed light on the microscopic physical origin of macroscopic behaviors of weathered rock, and to achieve the changing laws of microscopic parameters from observed decaying properties of rocks during weathering. The changing laws of macroscopic mechanical properties of typical rocks were summarized based on the existing research achievements. Parametric simulations were then conducted to analyze the relationships between macroscopic and microscopic parameters, and to derive the changing laws of microscopic parameters for the DEM model. Equipped with the microscopic weathering laws, a series of DEM simulations of basic laboratory tests on weathered rock samples was performed in comparison with analytical solutions. The results reveal that the relationships between macroscopic and microscopic parameters of rocks against the weathering period can be successfully attained by parametric simulations. In addition, weathering has a significant impact on both stressestrain relationship and failure pattern of rocks. 展开更多

This paper presents an improved understanding of coupled hydro-thermo-mechanical(HTM) hydraulic fracturing of quasi-brittle rock using the bonded particle model(BPM) within the discrete element method(DEM). BPM has been recently extended by the authors to account for coupled convective econductive heat flow and transport, and to enable full hydro-thermal fluidesolid coupled modeling.The application of the work is on enhanced geothermal systems(EGSs), and hydraulic fracturing of hot dry rock(HDR) is studied in terms of the impact of temperature difference between rock and a flowing fracturing fluid. Micro-mechanical investigation of temperature and fracturing fluid effects on hydraulic fracturing damage in rocks is presented. It was found that fracture is shorter with pronounced secondary microcracking along the main fracture for the case when the convectiveeconductive thermal heat exchange is considered. First, the convection heat exchange during low-viscosity fluid infiltration in permeable rock around the wellbore causes significant rock cooling, where a finger-like fluid infiltration was observed. Second, fluid infiltration inhibits pressure rise during pumping and delays fracture initiation and propagation. Additionally, thermal damage occurs in the whole area around the wellbore due to rock cooling and cold fluid infiltration. The size of a damaged area around the wellbore increases with decreasing fluid dynamic viscosity. Fluid and rock compressibility ratio was found to have significant effect on the fracture propagation velocity. 展开更多

基于FEM-DEM耦合模型喷丸铝合金薄壁件尺寸稳定性仿真研究

目的探究喷丸对铝合金薄壁件残余应力场的影响和应力释放后尺寸稳定性的影响。方法基于ABAQUS有限元软件建立多弹丸随机撞击薄壁件模型和喷丸薄壁件残余应力释放模型,并对模型预测7075铝合金薄壁件残余应力场的准确性进行验证。通过FEM-... 目的探究喷丸对铝合金薄壁件残余应力场的影响和应力释放后尺寸稳定性的影响。方法基于ABAQUS有限元软件建立多弹丸随机撞击薄壁件模型和喷丸薄壁件残余应力释放模型,并对模型预测7075铝合金薄壁件残余应力场的准确性进行验证。通过FEM-DEM耦合薄壁件喷丸+残余应力释放一体化模型,探究喷丸速度、喷丸直径、喷丸质量流工艺参数对7075铝合金薄壁件残余应力场和尺寸稳定性的影响规律。结果沿层深分布的残余应力试验值和仿真值最大误差在±16%以内,平均误差为6%,证实了模型良好的残余应力预测准确性。随弹丸速度增大,铝合金薄壁件表面残余应力和约束释放后的变形增大,速度为100m/s时最大残余压应力约为‒323 MPa。随弹丸直径增大,表面残余应力缓慢增大,残余压应力层深增加,弹丸直径为0.8 mm时残余压应力层深约为0.42 mm。随弹丸质量流增大,表面残余应力和约束释放后的形变也会小幅增加。增大弹丸质量流对增大最大残余应力和约束释放后的变形的增大效率小于增大弹丸速度和弹丸直径。根据仿真结果建立了喷丸效能评估参数和喷丸工艺参数相联系的预测模型。结论研究验证了多弹丸随机撞击薄壁件模型和喷丸薄壁件应力释放模型具有良好的预测喷丸薄壁件残余应力场和约束释放后变形的能力,为铝合金薄壁件喷丸强化工艺和成形工艺提供了一种数字化研究思路和实际数据支撑。 展开更多

Using LiDAR-DEM based rapid flood inundation modelling framework to map floodplain inundation extent and depth

Mapping floods is important for policy makers to make timely decisions in regards to emergency responses and future planning.It is therefore crucial to develop a rapid inundation modelling framework to map flood inundation.This study develops an airborne scanning laser altimetry(LiDAR)digital elevation model(DEM)based Rapid flood Inundation Modelling framework(LiDAR-RIM)for assessment of inundation extent,depth,volume and duration for flood events.The modelling framework has been applied to the mid-Murrumbidgee region in the southeast Murray-Darling Basin,Australia for two flood events occurred in December 2010 and March 2012.The inundation extents estimated using this methodology compared well to those obtained from two Landsat ETM+images,demonstrating suitability and applicability of this method.For testing possibility of larger area application,the framework also uses 30-m resolution shuttle radar topography mission(SRTM)-DEM to replace Li DAR-DEM for the same modelling.The inundation extents obtained by using the SRTM-DEM are smaller than those obtained using the Li DAR-DEM,especially for large flood events.A possible reason is that the river cross sections obtained from the SRTM-DEM are not accurate enough for inundation modelling.The Li DAR-RIM has an advantage for process modelling and scenario modelling under future climatic conditions. 展开更多

本文以无人机(UAV)倾斜摄影影像点云为数据源,通过对构建植被稀疏区数字高程模型(DEM)的最佳点云密度进行分析研究,从中选取出最佳点云密度,以实现高效、快速获取DEM数据。使用随机采样算法将原始点云以10%~90%密度进行抽稀,同时采用中... 本文以无人机(UAV)倾斜摄影影像点云为数据源,通过对构建植被稀疏区数字高程模型(DEM)的最佳点云密度进行分析研究,从中选取出最佳点云密度,以实现高效、快速获取DEM数据。使用随机采样算法将原始点云以10%~90%密度进行抽稀,同时采用中误差对生成的DEM进行精度评价分析。结果显示:①在点云抽稀10%~40%时,中误差随着点云密度的减小而增大,同时在点云抽稀30%时中误差与原始点云几乎相似;②在点云抽稀40%~60%时,中误差变化较为平缓,但总体呈上升趋势;③在点云抽稀60%~90%时,随着点云密度的进一步减小,中误差随着点云密度的减小而迅速增大。得出结论,点云密度与DEM精度呈正相关,抽稀30%的点云成为在同类型条件植被稀疏区UAV倾斜摄影点云生成DEM的最佳点云密度。 展开更多

There are many factors which affect the hydrological, geomorphologic and hydrogeological condition of the area. In order to better comprehend all processes, a Digital Elevation Model (DEM) was developed based on Geographical Information System. This latter appears as an essential tool to facilitate the decision support and can provide very important geological information. In fact, the use of the DEM is growing dramatically with the use of the GIS and the improvement of information extracted from elevation data such as mapping of floods, forest areas, erosion, and lineaments. The spatial distribution of topographic attributes can often be used as an indirect measure of the spatial variability of these processes and allows them to be mapped using relatively simple techniques. The main purpose of this study is to model the natural surface of the earth as the most accurate and the most precise. For this end we have tried in this work to develop various types of Digital Elevation Models DEM of the Foussana rift in Central Tunisia and to demonstrate the role of these models in geological, hydrogeological and hydrological study. The 3D model is also coupled in this study with piezometric and hydrochemistry study, so a new information’s plan was mapped by multiple GIS techniques like Spatial analysis and interpolation;in order 1) to comprehend the hydrodynamic of the aquifer, 2) to quantify surface and subsurface water resources and 3) to generate water management scenarios in the study area. To this end, several groundwater samples were collected and analyzed from wells and piezometers. Examining the corresponding physical and chemical parameters showed an increase in the concentrations of hydraulic conductivity in the center of the study area and it coincided with zones with high nutrient concentration. 东南极格罗夫山是中国南极科学考察的核心区域之一,建立该地区高精度的数字高程模型(DEM)对南极科学考察和冰川变化观测研究具有重要意义。基于资源三号(ZY-3)卫星的高分辨率光学立体测绘特征及其影像全面覆盖了格罗夫山核心区,本文利... 东南极格罗夫山是中国南极科学考察的核心区域之一,建立该地区高精度的数字高程模型(DEM)对南极科学考察和冰川变化观测研究具有重要意义。基于资源三号(ZY-3)卫星的高分辨率光学立体测绘特征及其影像全面覆盖了格罗夫山核心区,本文利用其三线阵影像生成了格罗夫山地区高分辨率数字高程模型(ZYDEM),并通过与该地区高程控制点的系统比较,完成了精度分析。分析结果表明:所获得的ZYDEM的高程精度为(−2.57±8.15)m;通过与格罗夫山地区筛选后的ICESat2脚点数据比较,可得到ZYDEM的高程精度为(0.49±2.34)m;ZYDEM的精度高于南极地区常用DEM,如BamberDEM、ICESatDEM和TanDEM-XDEM,与REMA的精度水平相当。上述针对东南极格罗夫山地区建立的高精度DEM及其精度分析成果表明,我国自主可控的资源三号立体测绘卫星在南极地区具备可靠的应用效能。 展开更多

Underground coal mining inevitably results in land surface subsidence.Acquiring information on land surface subsidence is important in the detection of surface change.However,conventional data acquisition techniques cannot always retrieve information on whole subsidence area.This study focuses on the reconstruction of a digital elevation model(DEM) with terrestrial laser scanning(TLS) point cloud data.Firstly,the methodology of the DEM with terrestrial 3-dimensional laser scanning is introduced.Then,a DEM modeling approach that involves the application of curved non-uniform rational B-splines(NURBS) surface is put forward.Finally,the performance of the DEM modeling approach with different surface inverse methods is demonstrated.The results indicate that the DEM based on the point cloud data and curved NURBS surface can achieve satisfactory accuracy.In addition,the performance of the hyperbolic paraboloid appears to be better than that of the elliptic paraboloid.The reconstructed DEM is continuous and can easily be integrated into other programs.Such features are of great importance in monitoring dynamic ground surface subsidence. 展开更多

针对采用DEM数据进行山区河道水动力模拟时运行中断和模拟效果不佳的问题,提出了一种基于DEM和LWLR的河道断面构造方法,以解决模型运行不稳定问题,提高水力学模型的模拟效果。首先,从DEM中提取各断面最低点,对于非唯一最低点,采用相邻... 针对采用DEM数据进行山区河道水动力模拟时运行中断和模拟效果不佳的问题,提出了一种基于DEM和LWLR的河道断面构造方法,以解决模型运行不稳定问题,提高水力学模型的模拟效果。首先,从DEM中提取各断面最低点,对于非唯一最低点,采用相邻断面最低点插值处理;然后,通过局部加权线性回归算法平滑河段河底高程,进而构造出更为精准的河道断面。将该方法应用于金沙江上游直门达至巴塘的水动力模拟中,并采用岗拖站的水位和流量资料进行模型的率定与验证。研究结果表明,与直接从DEM提取河道断面相比,该方法确保了水动力模型的稳定运行,节省了建模和模型运行的时间,有利于大规模河网的建模与分析;水位确定性系数、流量确定性系数和峰现时间分别提升了1.11%、0.89%、1.2 h,这进一步验证了此方法的实用性及其在地形资料匮乏地区进行水动力计算的应用价值。 展开更多

In this study, non-cumulative slope length(NCSL) calculation method and spatial analytical calculation(SAC) method were respectively applied to extract slope length and slope length factor from 10 sample areas, which are located in Ansai County, north Shaanxi Province. The comparison of computation precision between variable DEM resolutions showed that NCSL was superior to SAC entirely. And the results were best when the DEM resolutions were 5 and 10 m. Besides, the results of slope length factor were nearly the same under the two conditions. So DEM of 10 m resolution can be used to extract slope length. 展开更多

Understanding the hydromechanical behavior and permeability stress sensitivity of hydraulic fractures is fundamental for geotechnical applications associated with fluid injection.This paper presents a three-dimensional(3D)benchmark model of a laboratory experiment on graywacke to examine the dynamic hydraulic fracturing process under a polyaxial stress state.In the numerical model,injection pressures after breakdown(postbreakdown)are varied to study the impact on fracture growth.The fluid pressure front and crack front are identified in the numerical model to analyze the dynamic relationship between fluid diffusion and fracture propagation.Following the hydraulic fracturing test,the polyaxial stresses are rotated to investigate the influence of the stress field rotation on the fracture slip behavior and permeability.The results show that fracture propagation guides fluid diffusion under a high postbreakdown injection pressure.The crack front runs ahead of the fluid pressure front.Under a low postbreakdown injection pressure,the fluid pressure front gradually reaches the crack front,and fluid diffusion is the main driving factor of fracture propagation.Under polyaxial stress conditions,fluid injection not only opens tensile fractures but also induces hydroshearing.When the polyaxial stress is rotated,the fracture slip direction of a fully extended fracture is consistent with the shear stress direction.The fracture slip direction of a partly extended fracture is influenced by the increase in shear stress.Normal stress affects the permeability evolution by changing the average mechanical aperture.Shear stress can induce shearing and sliding on the fracture plane,thereby increasing permeability. 展开更多
