Each group received distinct treatments based on conventional rehabilitation training. The treatment duration spanned two weeks with two days of rest per week. Pre-and post-intervention assessments included various scales: Fugl-Meyer Assessment(FMA),Berg balance scale(BBS), Barthel index(BI), Fatigue Scale-14(FS-14), Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI),Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA), and Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD).RESULTS: Statistically significant differences were observed in the lower limb function measured by FAM between the Control group(15 ± 5) and the DLLR group(18 ± 5)(P = 0.049). In the Barthel index, a statistically significant difference was noted between the Control group(54 ± 18) and the DLLR group(64 ± 11)(P = 0.041).Additionally, significant differences were found in the Berg balance scale between the Control group(21 ± 10)and the DLLR group(27 ± 8)(P = 0.024), as well as between the Control group(21 ± 10) and the LLR group(26 ± 10)(P = 0.048).CONCLUSION: The findings of this study suggest that the combined use of Daoyin and robotics not only enhances motor function in stroke patients but also has a positive impact on fatigue, sleep quality, and mood. This approach may offer a more effective rehabilitation strategy for stroke patients.展开更多

Pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) is an established intervention for the management of patients with COPD. Exercise training is an important part of PR, and its effectiveness in patients with COPD is well established. However, alternative methods of PR training such as Daoyin have not been appropriately studied. Hence, alternative forms of exercise training that require less exercise equipment and no specific training place should be evaluated. This paper describes the study protocol of a clinical trial that aims to determine if pulmonary Daoyin training will improve the exercise capacity and psychosocial function of patients with COPD in China. METHODS AND DESIGN: A multicenter, randomized, controlled trial will be conducted. A total of 464 patients meeting the inclusion criteria will be enrolled into this study with 232 patients in each of the trial group and the control group. Based on patient education, patients in the trial group will receive pulmonary Daoyin and continue with their usual therapy for three months. In the control group, patients will continue with their usual therapy. The primary outcome measures are exercise capacity assessed by the six-minute walking distance test and lung function. Secondary outcomes include dyspnea and quality of life. Measurements will be taken at baseline (month 0) and after the study period (month 3). DISCUSSION: It is hypothesized that pulmonary Daoyin will have beneficial effects in improving exercise capacity and psychosocial function of patients with stable COPD, and will provide an alternative form of exercise training that is accessible for the large number of people with COPD. TRIAL REGISTRATION: This trial has been registered in ClinicalTrials.gov. The identifier is NCT01482000.展开更多

Methods: The potential of CNS was induced by six-step Daoyin technique of Chinese medicine, and the potential signal was received in real time by bio-electrical signal receiving equipment and displayed in curve form. Combined with the Operant conditioning biofeedback technique, targeted guidance was given to patients to continuously enhance the action muscle signal intensity and weaken the antagonistic muscle signal intensity, so that the motor program was gradually re-established. Sixty-four patients with hemiplegic elbow dysfunction of old cerebral infarction who had been trained but could not be improved further and had a history of more than 1 year were treated for one course, 90 times and 45 minutes each time. Lovett, Elbow Rom, Fugl-Meyer, program signal intensity and proportion were evaluated before and after treatment. The data were analyzed statistically. Before and after treatment, Lovett MMT, ROM of elbow joint, Fugl Meyer, motor program signal intensity and proportion were assessed, and the data were statistically analyzed. Results: After treatment and before treatment, there was a significant difference between the functional evaluation data (P < 0.01). The function of elbow joint was improved;this is the result of reconstructing the motor program on the basis of developing the potential of CNS by means of the “transcendental goal power” mechanism of the method. There was no recurrence after 6 months of follow-up. Conclusion: The Chinese Medicine Daoyin feedback rehabilitation technique is an effective method to improve elbow joint function of hemiplegia patients with cerebral infarction.展开更多

Methods: Based on the ancient Chinese Daoyin technique, a six-step method was developed including: 1) motion imagination and imitation;2) mental and breathing regulation;3) target point determination;4) motion percussion;5) motion persistence;6) relaxation. Sixty drop-foot patients who suffered from hemiparesis after a stroke were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group. Functional evaluation including Fugl-Meyer assessment score, Lovett manual muscle test (MMT), active range of motion of the ankle joint and electromyography were performed before and after the training course. The data were analyzed using the statistical software SPSS 12.0. Results: The differences between the two groups were significant. The effectiveness of the six-step group was significantly better than the effectiveness of the control group. Conclusion: The six-step method of the Chinese Daoyin technique is an effective rehabilitation training method for drop-foot in stroke patients with hemiparesis.展开更多
