Under the tide of economic globalization,college English teaching should not only focus on the improvement of language ability,but also on the cultivation of students’critical thinking ability.This paper takes the integration of language learning and critical thinking ability as the breakthrough point,explores the college English teaching mode under the background of the integration of the two,analyzes the current situation and disadvantages of the separation of the two in the current teaching,and puts forward the integration path from the aspects of curriculum design,teacher training,evaluation system,and so on.With the help of activities such as creating real language situations,carrying out debates and critical reading,it helps students strengthen the improvement of logical analysis and critical thinking ability in their gradual learning,realize the coordinated development of language learning and critical thinking ability,and cultivate compound talents with both language literacy and critical thinking ability for the society. 展开更多

In the era of generative AI(GAI),translation is undergoing unprecedented transformations.GAI enhances translation quality and efficiency,inaugurating a new chapter in translation.However,due to its limitations,the complexity of translation,and the uniqueness of Zhuang medicine,cultivating the critical thinking ability among talents in English translation of Zhuang medicine has become critically important.This study reforms the teaching content,instructional design,and evaluation of the course Computer-Aided Translation Technology,and constructs a teaching model to enhance the critical thinking abilities among talents in English translation of Zhuang medicine.The result shows that this model establishes a critically thinking-oriented teaching system,promotes interaction between humans and machines,teachers and students,and among peers,and improves students’capabilities in translation,critical thinking,and social communication. 展开更多

Over the past decades, increasingly more critical thinking (CT) in Western countries. attention has been paid to cultivating learners' Chinese educators and teachers have also realized the necessity of developing Chinese students' ability for critical thinking and advocated pedagogical reform. However, the practice of formal instruction in developing learners' critical thinking and related empirical studies are rarely seen. This pilot research, selecting four major critical thinking skills, is aimed to study the effects of formal instruction on the development of Chinese college students' critical thinking ability. With the quantitative and qualitative research, the findings indicate that the intensive instruction is effective in improving the sample's critical thinking ability, NOT in terms of the observed behavioral change, BUT in terms of their unobservable mental awareness. 展开更多

This study aims to explore whether developing critical thinking ability from the perspective of pragmatic presupposition can help non-English majors improve their writing achievements.This empirical study employs tests as the instruments.126 non-English majors from a key university of Shandong Province participate in the study.The results of the Ennis-Weir Critical Thinking Essay Test indicate that most subjects(95%)have inadequate or limited critical thinking ability,which leads to digression,repetitive and lengthy description,and unconvincing arguments,as well as illogical or incoherent structures in writing.After a ten-week teaching instruction from the perspective of pragmatic presupposition,students in experimental group improve their writing achievements,indicating that the instruction of critical thinking ability from the perspective of pragmatic presupposition may have certain effects on their writing performance.The study will promote the application of pragmatic presupposition to writing teaching and offer some implications for the teaching of English writing. 展开更多

Method and Effect of First Aid Skill Training for Emergency Nurses

Methods: from July in 2017 to June in 2018, 81 nurses were selected as research subjects and divided into a control group (... Objective: to explore the method and effect of first-aid skill training for emergency nurses. Methods: from July in 2017 to June in 2018, 81 nurses were selected as research subjects and divided into a control group (42 cases) and a test group (39 cases) by single blind random sampling. The control group adopted the traditional training mode of case analysis, explanation, demonstration, situational practice, guidance and feedback, while the experimental group adopted the Mini-CEX first-aid skill training mode. The clinical nursing ability, emergency nursing ability and critical thinking ability of nurses in the two groups were compared. Results: the scores of nursing consultation, nursing physical examination, nursing diagnosis, nursing measures, health consultation, interpersonal relationship, organizational effectiveness and comprehensive evaluation of nurses in experimental group were higher than those in control group (P < 0.05). The theoretical scores of cardiopulmonary resuscitation rate, ECG monitoring, sputum aspiration, injection pump use, infusion pump use, gastric lavage and emergency nursing in the experimental group were all higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05). The open attitude, analytical ability, systematic ability and self-confidence of nurses in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group (average P < 0.05). Conclusion: Mini-CEX teaching mode can improve nurses' clinical nursing ability and emergency nursing skills, and promote the development of critical thinking ability. 展开更多
