Monte Carlo(MC) simulations have been performed to refine the estimation of the correction-toscaling exponent ω in the 2D φ^(4)model,which belongs to one of the most fundamental universality classes. If corrections have the form ∝ L^(-ω),then we find ω=1.546(30) andω=1.509(14) as the best estimates. These are obtained from the finite-size scaling of the susceptibility data in the range of linear lattice sizes L ∈[128,2048] at the critical value of the Binder cumulant and from the scaling of the corresponding pseudocritical couplings within L∈[64,2048].These values agree with several other MC estimates at the assumption of the power-law corrections and are comparable with the known results of the ε-expansion.In addition,we have tested the consistency with the scaling corrections of the form ∝ L^(-4/3),∝L^(-4/3)In L and ∝L^(-4/3)/ln L,which might be expected from some considerations of the renormalization group and Coulomb gas model. The latter option is consistent with our MC data. Our MC results served as a basis for a critical reconsideration of some earlier theoretical conjectures and scaling assumptions. In particular,we have corrected and refined our previous analysis by grouping Feynman diagrams. The renewed analysis gives ω≈4-d-2η as some approximation for spatial dimensions d <4,or ω≈1.5 in two dimensions. 展开更多

The travel-time corrections for the primary seismic phases of 72 stations in the Guangdong seismic network, relative to the 1D South China travel-time model, were determined using joint hypocentral determination(JHD)and statistical analysis methods. The travel-time corrections for the Pg phase of 72 stations range between-0.25 s and 0.14 s,while the corrections for the Sg phase range between 0.27 s and 0.35 s,and those for the Pn phase are between-0.86 s and 0.07 s.The spatial distribution of travel-time corrections for Pg,Sg,and Pn phases of 72 stations correlates well with the geological structure in this region. This indicates that the travel-time corrections for Pg and Sg phases are mainly caused by the discrepancy between the actual crustal velocity structure beneath the stations and the 1D South China travel-time model. These corrections empirically compensate for systematic travel-time errors arising from such discrepancies. The primary factor contributing to the travel-time corrections for the Pn phase is the Moho undulations or tilt. These corrections are intended to compensate for systematic errors in travel time caused by variations in the actual Moho.By integrating the obtained travel-time corrections into the HYPO-SAT location algorithm, test results showed an obvious improvement in location accuracy and origin time precision for explosion events. The variation of horizontal distance between repeating earthquake pairs has also improved, with 86%of the repeating earthquake pair spacing being more accurately estimated after correction. This suggests the crucial significance of travel-time correction in earthquake location, and the consideration of travel-time correction exerts a notable impact on enhancing earthquake location accuracy. 展开更多

Driven critical dynamics in quantum phase transitions holds significant theoretical importance, and also has practical applications in fast-developing quantum devices. While scaling corrections have been shown to play important roles in fully characterizing equilibrium quantum criticality, their impact on nonequilibrium critical dynamics has not been extensively explored. In this work,we investigate the driven critical dynamics in a two-dimensional quantum Heisenberg model. We find that in this model the scaling corrections arising from both finite system size and finite driving rate must be incorporated into the finite-time scaling form in order to properly describe the nonequilibrium scaling behaviors. In addition, improved scaling relations are obtained from the expansion of the full scaling form.We numerically verify these scaling forms and improved scaling relations for different starting states using the nonequilibrium quantum Monte Carlo algorithm. 展开更多

We calculate the thermodynamic quantities in the quantum corrected Reissner-Nordstr?m-AdS(RN-AdS)black hole, and examine their quantum corrections.By analyzing the mass and heat capacity,we give the critical state and the remnant state, respectively, and discuss their consistency. Then,we investigate the quantum tunneling from the event horizon of massless scalar particle by using the null geodesic method, and charged massive boson W^(±)and fermions by using the Hamilton-Jacob method. It is shown that the same Hawking temperature can be obtained from these tunneling processes of different particles and methods.Next,by using the generalized uncertainty principle(GUP),we study the quantum corrections to the tunneling and the temperature. Then the logarithmic correction to the black hole entropy is obtained. 展开更多

Shipboard radiosonde soundings are important for detecting and quantifying the multiscale variability of atmosphere-ocean interactions associated with mass exchanges. This study evaluated the accuracies of shipboard Global Positioning System(GPS)soundings in the eastern tropical Indian Ocean and South China Sea through a simultaneous balloon-borne inter-comparison of different radiosonde types. Our results indicate that the temperature and relative humidity(RH)measurements of GPS-TanKong(GPS-TK)radiosonde(used at most stations before 2012)have larger biases than those of ChangFeng-06-A(CF-06-A)radiosonde(widely used in current observation)when compared to reference data from Vaisala RS92-SGP radiosonde, with a warm bias of 5℃and dry bias of 10%during daytimes, and a cooling bias of-0.8℃and a moist bias of 6%during nighttime. These systematic biases are primarily attributed to the radiation effects and altitude deviation. An empirical correction algorithm was developed to retrieve the atmospheric temperature and RH profiles. The corrected profiles agree well with that of RS92-SGP,except for uncertainties of CF-06-A in the stratosphere. These correction algorithms were applied to the GPS-TK historical sounding records, reducing biases in the corrected temperature and RH profiles when compared to radio occultation data. The correction of GPS-TK historical records illustrated an improvement in capturing the marine atmospheric structure, with more accurate atmospheric boundary layer height, convective available potential energy, and convective inhibition in the tropical ocean. This study contributes significantly to improving the quality of GPS radiosonde soundings and promotes the sharing of observation in the eastern tropical Indian Ocean and South China Sea. 展开更多

The Spalart-Allmaras (S-A) turbulence model, the shear-stress transport (SST) turbulence model and their compressibility corrections are revaluated for hypersonic compression comer flows by using high-order difference schemes. The compressibility effect of density gradient, pressure dilatation and turbulent Mach number is accounted. In order to reduce confusions between model uncertainties and discretization errors, the formally fifth-order explicit weighted compact nonlinear scheme (WCNS-E-5) is adopted for convection terms, and a fourth-order staggered central difference scheme is applied for viscous terms. The 15° and 34° compression comers at Mach number 9.22 are investigated. Numerical results show that the original SST model is superior to the original S-A model in the resolution of separated regions and predictions of wall pressures and wall heat-flux rates. The capability of the S-A model can be largely improved by blending Catris' and Shur's compressibility corrections. Among the three corrections of the SST model listed in the present paper, Catris' modification brings the best results. However, the dissipation and pressure dilatation corrections result in much larger separated regions than that of the experiment, and are much worse than the original SST model as well as the other two corrections. The correction of turbulent Mach number makes the separated region slightly smaller than that of the original SST model. Some results of low-order schemes are also presented. When compared to the results of the high-order schemes, the separated regions are smaller, and the peak wall pressures and peak heat-flux rates are lower in the region of the reattachment points. 展开更多

The sea ice concentration observation from satellite remote sensing includes the spatial multi-scale information. However, traditional data assimilation methods cannot better extract the valuable information due to the complicated variability of the sea ice concentration in the marginal ice zone.A successive corrections analysis using variational optimization method, called spatial multi-scale recursive filter(SMRF),has been designed in this paper to extract multi-scale information resolved by sea ice observations. It is a combination of successive correction methods(SCM)and minimization algorithms,in which various observational scales, from longer to shorter wavelengths, can be extracted successively. As a variational objective analysis scheme,it gains the advantage over the conventional approaches that analyze all scales resolved by observations at one time, and also, the specification of parameters is more convenient. Results of single-observation experiment demonstrate that the SMRF scheme possesses a good ability in propagating observational signals.Further,it shows a superior performance in extracting multi-scale information in a two-dimensional sea ice concentration(SIC)experiment with the real observations from Special Sensor Microwave/Imager SIC(SSMI). 展开更多

We propose a quantization procedure for the nucleon-scMar meson system, in which an arbitrary mean scalar meson field Ф is introduced. The equivalence of this procedure with the usual one is proven for any given value of qS. By use of this procedure, the scalar meson field in the Walecka's MFA and in Chin's RHA are quantized around the mean field, Its corrections on these theories are considered by perturbation up to the second order. The arbitrariness of Ф makes us free to fix it at any stage in the calculation. When we fix it in the way of Walecka's MFA, the quantum corrections are big, and the result does not converge. When we fix it in the way of Chin's RHA, the quantum correction is negligibly small, and the convergence is excellent. It shows that RHA covers the leading part of quantum field theory for nuclear systems and is an excellent zeroth order approximation for further quantum corrections, while the Walecka's MFA does not. We suggest to fix the parameter Ф at the end of the whole calculation by minimizing the total energy per-nucleon for the nuclear matter or the total energy for the finite nucleus, to make the quantized relativistic mean field theory (QRMFT) a variational method. 展开更多

Aiming to the reliable estimates of the ionosphere differential corrections for the satellite navigation system in the presence of the ionosphere anomaly, a fault-tolerance estimating method, which is based on the distributed Kalman filtering, is proposed. The method utilizes the parallel sub-filters for estimating the ionosphere differential corrections. Meanwhile, an infinite norm (IN) method is proposed for the detection of the ionosphere irregularity in the filter processing. Once the anomaly is detected, the sub-filter contaminated by the anomaly measurements will be excluded to ensure the reliability of the estimates. The simulation is conducted to validate the method and the results indicate that the anomaly can be found timely due to the novel fault detection method based on the infinite norm. Because of the parallel sub-filter architecture, the measurements are classified by the spatial distribution so that the ionosphere anomaly can be positioned and excluded more easily. Thus, the method can provide the robust and accurate ionosphere differential corrections. 展开更多

The DGPS technique can provide considerably better relative positioning accuracy than the stand_alone GPS positioning, but the improvement depends on the distance between the user and the reference station (spatial correlation),the latency of differential corrections (temporal correlation),and the quality of differential corrections. Therefore, how to correctly generate differential corrections as well as their pricision is very important to the DGPS positioning technique. This paper presents a new algorithm for generating differential GPS corrections. This algorithm directly uses code and carrier observations in the measurement model of a Kalman filter,so that it is possible to use a simple stochastic model and to use the standard algorithm of the Kalman filter. The algorithm accounts for biases like multipath errors and instrumental delays in code observations and it shows how differential corrections are differently affected by code biases when dual or single frequency data is used.In addition, the algorithm can be integrated with a real time quality control procedure. As a result, the quality of differential corrections can be guaranteed with a certain probability. 展开更多

We discuss a new class of RSII braneworld cosmology exhibiting accelerated expansion and dominated by quintessence. It is explicitly demonstrated that the universe expansion history (transition from inflation to deceleration epoch to acceleration and effective quintessence era) may naturally occur in such unified theory for some classes of inverse scalar potentials. Besides a decaying effective cosmological constant, the model incorporates an increasing black hole mass, an increasing Maxwellian electrical charge with cosmic time and a time-dependent brahe tension. The cosmological model exhibits several features of cosmological and astrophysical interest for both the early and late universe consistent with recent observations, in particular the ones concerned with the gravitational constants, black holes masses and charges and variation of the gauge coupling parameters with cosmic time. One interesting mark of the constructed model concerns the fact that a black hole mass surrounded by quintessence energy may increase with time even if the horizon disappears. 展开更多

We obtain the instanton correction recursion relations for the low energy effective prepotential in pure Ν = 2SU(n) supersymmetric Yang-Mills gauge theory from Whitham hierarchy and Seiberg-Witten/Whitham equations. These formulae provide us a powerful tool to calculate arbitrary order instanton corrections coefficients from the perturbative contributions of the effective prepotential in Seiberg-Witten gauge theory. Abstract The minimal dilaton model (MDM) extends the Standard Model by one singlet scalar called dilaton andone top quark partner called t. In this work we investigate the t-induced radiative correction to the Higgs-strahlung production process e+e^→ Zh at future Higgs factory. We first present the analytical calculations in detail and show how to handle the ultraviolet divergence. Then we calculate the correction numerically by considering the constraints from precision electroweak data. We find that, for sinθL=0.2 and mt= 1200 GeV, the correction is 0.26% and 2.1% for SE+E = 240 GeV, 1 TeV respectively, and a larger value can be achieved as sin θL increases. 展开更多

Corrections professionals experience high levels of acute and chronic work-related stress. This stress leads to increased mental and physical illness, early disability and mortality, and increased healthcare costs. Reducing stress requires identifying and prioritizing factors that contribute to it. Corrections professionals (n = 296) working at six different Oregon Department of Corrections facilities completed a cross-sectional survey, including demographics, work history and validated stress and occupational constructs. The outcome of perceived stress was measured using the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-4 Short Form). Using a linear mixed effects regression model, we found that perceived stress increases with increased work-related stress (p = 0.02), work hours (p = 0.03), operational stressors (p = 0.002), and lack of procedural injustice (p = 0.03) and decreases with more time employed at current facility (p = 0.06), improved job satisfaction (p < 0.001), and among married or partnered individuals (p = 0.05). Identifying these predictors of stress can inform the development of policy changes to mitigate the stress of this challenged work force. 展开更多
