Inclined Window Solar Box Cooker with One External Reflector Designed for the Mediterranean Latitudes

Off-grid solar cooking in the developed and developing regions of the world is becoming one response to climate change that causes wood-fuel shortages and an increase in cost of coal, gas, and electricity production and their transportation. This paper examines a series unloaded temperature and loaded (food) performance metrics for an inclined window solar box cooker (SBC) designed for Mediterranean latitudes (35.31˚N, 24.31˚E). Solar radiation analysis using two different computer software platforms (SunCalc and Autodesk Revit® with insight plug-in software) is used to date and time-stamp the solar box cooker solar input power. Performed sensible heat tests demonstrate that the solar cooker can reach unloaded internal temperatures of 120˚C at a solar irradiance of 192 W, and a first figure of merit of 0.08 to 0.105. Food cooking metrics is performed on: whole eggs-without water, and the following with water;White medium-grain rice, rice pudding, pastitsio #2 pasta and Brown small lentils. The analytical metrics reveals that their required cooking power is 13 to 53 W;cooking energy of 94 to 210 kJ and energy density is 0.2 to 0.6 kJ⋅g−1. Using day and time-stamped computed solar input power the food cooking power efficiency varies between 6% to 8.9% for three whole eggs-without water, and 16% to 35.5% for rice, pasta, and lentils cooked in water. For water-stressed communities in traditional desert and emerging drought regions a mass-based wastewater/product metrics is used to help drive the water efficiency of the solar cooking process. 展开更多

In this work, a numerical study of heat transfers in a metallic pressure cooker isolated with kapok wool was carried out. This equipment works like a thermos, allowing finishing cooking meals only thanks to the heat stored at the beginning of cooking, which generates energy savings. Cooked meals are also kept hot for long hours. In our previous work, we have highlighted the performances of the pressure cooker when making common dishes in Burkina Faso. Also, the parameters (thickness and density) of the insulating matrix allowing having such performances as well as the influence of the climatic conditions on the pressure cooker operation were analyzed in detail in this present work. The numerical methodology is based on the nodal method and the transfer equations obtained by making an energy balance on each node have been discretized using an implicit scheme with finite differences and resolved by the Gauss algorithm. Numerical results validated experimentally show that the thickness of the kapok wool as well as its density play an important role in the pressure cooker operation. In addition, equipment performances are very little influenced by the weather conditions of the city of Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso). 展开更多

Mathematical relations are developed to compute optimum inclination angle of booster mirror for horizontally placed cooker (λ) and for optimally inclined cooker (ψ) during all months (selected day) of the year at 30°N latitude for maximizing the reflected component of solar intensity onto the absorber plate of the cooker. A solar radiation model is also developed and used to compute the ratio of various solar intensities on horizontal, inclined and normal surface of the absorber plate for all months at 30&deg;N latitude. These ratios give a clear indication of greater solar radiation availability on the optimally inclined cooker as compared to the horizontally placed cooker for faster cooking especially during winter months when solar radiation capture is small. Solar cookers are a good option in developing countries with high solar potential for environmentally friendly cooking and reduced pressure on forests. However, they are still affected by the intermittency of the sun. In order to overcome this problem, in this work, a box type solar cooker integrated Jatropha oil as a heat storage material is fabricated and experimented with. The design was examined with a maximum stagnation temperature of 157.7&deg;C. The recorded cooking power vanished between 78.4 and 103.6 W, while thermal efficiency varied from 41.26% to 58.78%. The energy transfer cycle test, including charge and discharge revealed that 91.18% of the heat lost through the cooker could be recovered by the heat storage unit and a large amount is restored to the system during cloudiness or a temperature perturbation. 展开更多

The objective of this work is to numerically determine the thermal performance of the parabolic cylinder cooker commonly “blazing tube”. These performances were determined by establishing heat balances at the different levels of the system. The equations obtained have been discretized;simplifying assumptions have been made to facilitate their resolution. We adopted Gauss Seidel’s method using MATLAB software to solve these equations. The temperatures of the coolant, the glass and the absorber were determined as a function of time and along the tube. The thermal efficiency was also determined. It emerged that the different temperatures evolve linearly as a function of the length of the tube. Yield and temperatures depend on the amount of sunshine. 展开更多

Inde... <span style="font-family:Verdana;">We studied the temperature distribution and fluid velocity in a box-type solar cooker by using the Finite Element Method (FEM) in Ziguinchor southern of Senegal. Indeed, this is one of the sunniest countries in the world: more than 3000 hours of sunshine per year with an average temperature of around 30<span style="white-space:nowrap;">&#730;</span>C. This abundant and exploitable solar energy contributes to the development of more efficient, profitable and clean sources of energy. This will help to satisfy the increasing demand of energy. This numerical model was validated by comparing the numerical results with those of the experiment carried out on a single day. The relative error obtained is below 3%. The model results confirmed the performance of this cooker as its cooking temperature is available for more than seven hours. They have shown that the temperature and internal fluid velocity fields are not homogeneous. The results, although preliminary and encouraging, are a first step towards the complete simulation of a solar cooker integrated into a drying column.</span> 展开更多

This work is devoted to an experimental study of metallic pressure cooker insulated with kapok wool, a vegetal biodegradable fiber. Experiments conducted on the cooling of hot water in the equipment revealed very low heat losses and a time constant of 60 hours on average. As a result, the equipment makes it possible to finish cooking meals only thanks to the heat stored at the beginning of cooking and keeps cooked dishes warm for long hours. The thermal phase shift of the pressure cooker is around 7?h. Cooking tests conducted on some local dishes revealed about 70% butane gas savings for cooking cowpea and white rice, 38% for cooking fatty rice, 75% for pasta and couscous, and 30% for cooking potato stew. These results show that this technology can contribute to minimizing?energy consumption in the restaurant sector. 展开更多

锅具位置辨识是实现自由区电磁炉自适应加热和功率调节的关键因素。传统的锅具位置辨识方法易受外界因素波动的影响,或需要大量的样本数据,在锅具位置辨识的准确性及速度上存在明显不足,且未考虑锅具偏移对电磁炉功率输出的影响。为此,... 锅具位置辨识是实现自由区电磁炉自适应加热和功率调节的关键因素。传统的锅具位置辨识方法易受外界因素波动的影响,或需要大量的样本数据,在锅具位置辨识的准确性及速度上存在明显不足,且未考虑锅具偏移对电磁炉功率输出的影响。为此,该文通过建立锅具和感应加热线圈之间的等效电路模型,分析锅具位置偏移影响系统阻抗和电流相位的机理,在此基础上提出利用电流相位实现锅具位置的辨识方法,以控制开关阵列实现锅具位置的定位加热。同时,引入可调电容电路实现偏移工况下电磁炉最大功率输出,借此提高锅具的加热速度和温升。最后搭建自由区电磁炉实验样机,验证了锅具位置辨识方法和功率调节策略的有效性,位置辨识精度大于96%,位置辨识响应速度为0.8 ms,锅具位置辨识策略速度快、精度高,偏移工况下经功率调节策略锅具温升显著提升。提升了电磁炉炉面的利用率和用户体验,有利于自由区电磁炉的推广及应用。 展开更多

目的 充分利用网络购物平台用户评论,寻找形态因子最佳组合以指导产品造型设计,解决部分产品难以契合用户感性需求的问题。方法 利用网络爬虫抓取某网络购物平台的用户评论并利用TF-IDF算法将其量化;使用主成分分析法,选取感性评价指标... 目的 充分利用网络购物平台用户评论,寻找形态因子最佳组合以指导产品造型设计,解决部分产品难以契合用户感性需求的问题。方法 利用网络爬虫抓取某网络购物平台的用户评论并利用TF-IDF算法将其量化;使用主成分分析法,选取感性评价指标,借助形态分析法将目标产品分解为多个主要结构;运用BP神经网络构建用户感性评价模型,遍历所有形态因子组合以确定最优搭配。结果 以电饭煲为例,根据所构建模型可预测各评价指标最高的形态因子组合,该模型均方误差为0.0049,决定系数为0.9287,模型精度符合要求,利用问卷调查法进一步证明了预测结果有参考价值。结论 基于BP神经网络构建的模型拥有快速寻找最佳形态因子组合的能力,利用网络购物平台用户评论作为训练样本能够解决人工搜集或问卷调查获取样本时间长、成本高、市场响应慢、样本分布不均匀等问题。用户感性评价模型预测结果对设计师精准满足用户需求有重要的指导意义。 展开更多

为深入探究城镇燃气掺氢后对灶具燃烧性能产生的影响,开展了系统的理论分析与实验测试,并着重针对掺氢天然气应用于灶具时的互换性、燃烧稳定性、热效率以及污染物排放等关键性能展开对比分析。研究结果表明:在掺氢比不超过24.14%的情况... 为深入探究城镇燃气掺氢后对灶具燃烧性能产生的影响,开展了系统的理论分析与实验测试,并着重针对掺氢天然气应用于灶具时的互换性、燃烧稳定性、热效率以及污染物排放等关键性能展开对比分析。研究结果表明:在掺氢比不超过24.14%的情况下,掺氢天然气能够满足与12T基准天然气在华白数和燃烧势方面的互换性要求;从燃烧稳定性来看,随着掺氢比的逐步增加,灶具火焰高度会有所降低,但不会出现离焰、熄火、回火等异常现象;在热效率方面,随着掺氢比的增大,燃气灶的热负荷呈降低趋势,而热效率则呈现升高态势,当掺氢比达到25%时,热效率可达到最大值;在掺氢30%以下,掺氢对火焰稳定性影响较小;掺氢后燃烧产物中CO排放量显著降低,而NO_(x)、CO_(2)、O_(2)排放量的变化并不显著。研究结果有望为城镇天然气掺氢的推广应用提供切实有效的参考依据。 展开更多

小脑幕硬脑膜动静脉瘘(TDAVF)是位于小脑幕及其附属结构上的异常动静脉短路。由于其病变部位深,供血动脉和引流静脉复杂,治疗困难。经动脉入路应用Onyx-18栓塞是当前首选的治疗方法。但Onyx-18在瘘口处弥散不佳是治疗不彻底、部分患者... 小脑幕硬脑膜动静脉瘘(TDAVF)是位于小脑幕及其附属结构上的异常动静脉短路。由于其病变部位深,供血动脉和引流静脉复杂,治疗困难。经动脉入路应用Onyx-18栓塞是当前首选的治疗方法。但Onyx-18在瘘口处弥散不佳是治疗不彻底、部分患者残余或复发的重要原因。枕动脉是TDAVF的常见供血动脉之一,其位置表浅,仅体表压迫就能达到封闭血管效果。目前尚无术者提到通过枕动脉体外按压来辅助Onyx-18治疗,使其在瘘口处充分弥散。本文报告2例枕动脉按压辅助Onyx-18血管内治疗TDAVF患者,描述了颅脑磁共振成像、脑血管造影的结果、手术过程及结果,讨论并复习了TDAVF治疗方法的相关文献。2例TDAVF患者瘘口完全闭塞,术后恢复良好,不适症状消失,无手术相关并发症发生。对于枕动脉参与供血的TDAVF患者,可以通过枕动脉入路注入Onyx-18,同时体表按压枕动脉辅助,达到治愈性栓塞的目的。 展开更多
