The abnormal precipitation in January 2018 in northern China is a typical case of the continuous moderate precipitation. The research region is composed by the northern part of the farming-pastoral zone </span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">and the Hulunbuir Grassland. The main method in this study consists of</span><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> ana</span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">lyzing the abnormal precipitation month by identifying the precipitation</span><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> types and locations, and exploring the atmospheric circulations at the moment of typical </span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">precipitations.
