Taking Zhaoyu Historical City in Qixian County as an example,this paper explores the production process of tourism space in Zhaoyu Historical City in the context of consumption,based on Lefebvre's triadic dialecti...Taking Zhaoyu Historical City in Qixian County as an example,this paper explores the production process of tourism space in Zhaoyu Historical City in the context of consumption,based on Lefebvre's triadic dialectic theory.The study reveals that,driven by the development of tourism,subjects such as the government and planners possess absolute dominance over spatial representations,while residents demonstrate receptive and adaptive action strategies and social relations are reproduced,presenting a harmonious state.Further exploring the tourism community in the environmental performance of the subject of action,social relations,consumption demand,daily life practice,cultural capital,etc.,the daily life practice of the tourism community has transcended the original logic of tourism spatial production and has a certain extension.The mechanism analysis in this paper can help guide the healthy development of tourism space in the neighboring historical cities or communities and achieve the dual purpose of promoting the economic development of the community and heritage protection.展开更多
Purpose:This study attempts to disclose the characteristics of knowledge integration in an interdisciplinary field by looking into the content aspect of knowledge.Design/methodology/approach:The eHealth field was chos...Purpose:This study attempts to disclose the characteristics of knowledge integration in an interdisciplinary field by looking into the content aspect of knowledge.Design/methodology/approach:The eHealth field was chosen in the case study.Associated knowledge phrases(AKPs)that are shared between citing papers and their references were extracted from the citation contexts of the eHealth papers by applying a stem-matching method.A classification schema that considers the functions of knowledge in the domain was proposed to categorize the identified AKPs.The source disciplines of each knowledge type were analyzed.Quantitative indicators and a co-occurrence analysis were applied to disclose the integration patterns of different knowledge types.Findings:The annotated AKPs evidence the major disciplines supplying each type of knowledge.Different knowledge types have remarkably different integration patterns in terms of knowledge amount,the breadth of source disciplines,and the integration time lag.We also find several frequent co-occurrence patterns of different knowledge types.Research limitations:The collected articles of the field are limited to the two leading open access journals.The stem-matching method to extract AKPs could not identify those phrases with the same meaning but expressed in words with different stems.The type of Research Subject dominates the recognized AKPs,which calls on an improvement of the classification schema for better knowledge integration analysis on knowledge units.Practical implications:The methodology proposed in this paper sheds new light on knowledge integration characteristics of an interdisciplinary field from the content perspective.The findings have practical implications on the future development of research strategies in eHealth and the policies about interdisciplinary research.Originality/value:This study proposed a new methodology to explore the content characteristics of knowledge integration in an interdisciplinary field.展开更多
This paper aims to examine New Economics of Labor Migration (NELM) in the northwestern Guangxi, China and investigate the relationships among rural-urban migration, rural household income and local geographical contex...This paper aims to examine New Economics of Labor Migration (NELM) in the northwestern Guangxi, China and investigate the relationships among rural-urban migration, rural household income and local geographical contexts. Stratified sampling and typical case study were adopted and 236 questionnaires were collected from four vil- lages, Daxin, Lixin, Longhe and Yongchang. We analyzed the rural-urban migration rate, household income and local geographical factors, focusing on the ratio of remittance income to total household income. Data descriptions and sta- tistical methods, such as Pearson Chi-square test, Contingency coefficient, Eta, Pearson correlation coefficient, t-test, multiple comparisons (LSD test, Tamhane T2, Dunnett T3 and Dunnet C test) were used. The results are as follows. Rural households’ income is diversified in survey villages so the motivation of rural-urban migration in the study area can be partly explained by NELM. The migration rate of households (the percentage of households with migrants in survey households) in survey villages varies from 50% to 86%, while the proportion of remittance income to house- hold income is in the range of 30% to 80%. In the village of Yongchang, with the least average arable land area per household, the remittance income plays a vital role in household income (80%). And the statistical findings show that the proportion is significantly and negatively correlated with arable land area per household. The conclusion is that di- rect effect of migration, i.e., the contribution of remittance to household income, is negatively correlated with the con- tribution of resources to local income.展开更多

METHODS: The proposed method for registration consists of two steps. In the first step, shape context, an approach as presented by Belongie and Malik was applied for registration of two breast boundaries. The shape context is an approach to measure shape similarity. Two sets of finite sample points from shape contours of two breasts are then presented. Consequently, the correspondences between the two shapes are found. By finding correspondences, the sample point which has the most similar shape context is obtained. RESULTS: In this study, a line up transformation which maps one shape onto the other has been estimated in order to complete shape. The used of a thin plate spline permitted good estimation of a plane transformation which has capability to map unselective points from one shape onto the other. The obtained aligningtransformation of boundaries points has been applied successfully to map the two breasts interior points. Some of advantages for using shape context method in this work are as follows:(1) no special land marks or key points are needed;(2) it is tolerant to all common shape deformation; and(3) although it is uncomplicated and straightforward to use, it gives remarkably powerful descriptor for point sets significantly upgrading point set registration. Results are very promising. The proposed algorithm was implemented for 32 cases. Boundary registration is done perfectly for 28 cases.CONCLUSION: We used shape contexts method that is simple and easy to implement to achieve symmetric boundaries for left and right breasts boundaries in thermal images.展开更多
Although much research has been conducted on the interactions between the career development of foreign language teachers and their contexts around the world,a literature review reveals that there exists scanty resear...Although much research has been conducted on the interactions between the career development of foreign language teachers and their contexts around the world,a literature review reveals that there exists scanty research on the relationship between university Russian language teachers’career development and their contexts in China since 1949.Based on relevant studies on the career development of foreign language teachers and the ecological theory,this paper involves research on the impact that different ecological systems(micro-,meso-,macro-and exo-ones)have played in the career development of Russian language teachers in China.Participants are 10 Chinese Russian teachers of different ages from different universities in different parts of China.Via literature review,narration methods and semi-structured(in-depth)interviews with the help of NVivo,this research finds that Russian language teachers’career development results from multi-faceted interactions of the following contexts:ideology,Russian language educational policies and personal factors as well as college contexts.This paper concludes with some suggestions for improving Russian language teachers’career development in China.展开更多

Australian funnel-web spiders are arguably the most venomous spiders in the world,with much research focusing on this aspect of their biology.However,other aspects related to their life history,ecology and behaviour h...Australian funnel-web spiders are arguably the most venomous spiders in the world,with much research focusing on this aspect of their biology.However,other aspects related to their life history,ecology and behaviour have been overlooked.For the first time,we assessed repeatability.namely risk-taking behaviour,aggressiveness and activity in the contexts of predation,conspecific tolerance and exploration of a new territory in four species of Australian funnel-web spiders:two are closely related,Hadronyche valida and H.infensa,and two have overlapping distributions but occupy different habitats,H.cerberea and Atrax robustus.We also compared behaviors between species.At the species level,we found that H.valida showed consistency in risk-taking behavior when exposed to a predator stimulus,aggressiveness against conspecifics,and exploration of a new territory.In contrast,in the other species,only A.robustus showed repeatability in the context of exploration of a new territory.These results suggest that some behavioral traits are likely more flexible than others,and that the repeatability of behaviors may be species-specific in funnel-webs.When we compared species,we found differences in risk-taking behavior and defensiveness.This study provides novel insights to understanding variation in behavioral traits within and between species of funnel-web spiders,suggesting that some behavioral traits are likely context and/or species dependent,as a result of their evolutionary history.These findings provide key insights for understanding the ecological role of behavior and venom deployment in venomous animals,and a greater understanding of behavior in these medically significant and iconic spiders thatareof conservation concern.展开更多

The proposed techniques to discover publication contexts relies on the availability of domain-specific inputs, namely a pre-specified ontology terms. A problem with this technique is that the needed domain-specific inputs may not be available in some scientific disciplines. In this paper, we propose utilizing a powerful input that is naturally available in any scientific discipline to discover the hierarchically-ordered contexts of it, namely paper citation and co-authorship graphs. More specifically, we propose a set of domain-specific bibliometry-aware features that are automatically computable instead of domain-specific inputs that need experts’ efforts to prepare. Another benefit behind considering bibliometric-features to adapt to the special characteristics of the literature environment being targeted, which in turn facilitates contexts membership decision making. This study analyzes how the meaning of yi(夷,barbarian)was constructed in different historical contexts at the end of the Qing dynasty,which is important for us to reconsider xenophobia and Sino-centrism both in the p...This study analyzes how the meaning of yi(夷,barbarian)was constructed in different historical contexts at the end of the Qing dynasty,which is important for us to reconsider xenophobia and Sino-centrism both in the past and present.Our study combines contextual with intertextual reading methods.It places different materials,including missionaries’works,newspapers,and official documents,in their specific historical contexts and links them to obtain a full picture of this transformation.We argue that yi was invented.Various agents and actors created the connotation of yi to suit their interests.It was transformed by the Qing court from“barbarians”to those who follow Confucianism to justify their rule.Then it was first translated as“foreigners”and later as“barbarians”when Europeans came to China.Our study situates the meaning of yi to help us rethink some of the labels and misconceptions attached to yi and the early missionaries in China.展开更多

Background Continuous emotion recognition as a function of time assigns emotional values to every frame in a sequence.Incorporating long-term temporal context information is essential for continuous emotion recognitio...Background Continuous emotion recognition as a function of time assigns emotional values to every frame in a sequence.Incorporating long-term temporal context information is essential for continuous emotion recognition tasks.Methods For this purpose,we employ a window of feature frames in place of a single frame as inputs to strengthen the temporal modeling at the feature level.The ideas of frame skipping and temporal pooling are utilized to alleviate the resulting redundancy.At the model level,we leverage the skip recurrent neural network to model the long-term temporal variability by skipping trivial information for continuous emotion recognition.Results The experimental results using the AVEC 2017 database demonstrate that our proposed methods are beneficial to a performance improvement.Further,the skip long short-term memory(LSTM)model can focus on the critical emotional state when training the models,thereby achieving a better performance than the LSTM model and other methods.展开更多
Short-term GPS data based taxi pick-up area recommendation can improve the efficiency and reduce the overheads.But how to alleviate sparsity and further enhance accuracy is still challenging.Addressing at these issues...Short-term GPS data based taxi pick-up area recommendation can improve the efficiency and reduce the overheads.But how to alleviate sparsity and further enhance accuracy is still challenging.Addressing at these issues,we propose to fuse spatio-temporal contexts into deep factorization machine(STC_DeepFM)offline for pick-up area recommendation,and within the area to recommend pick-up points online using factorization machine(FM).Firstly,we divide the urban area into several grids with equal size.Spatio-temporal contexts are destilled from pick-up points or points-of-interest(POIs)belonged to the preceding grids.Secondly,the contexts are integrated into deep factorization machine(DeepFM)to mine high-order interaction relationships from grids.And a novel algorithm named STC_DeepFM is presented for offline pick-up area recommendation.Thirdly,we devise the architecture of offline-to-online(O2O)recommendation respectively based on DeepFM and FM model in order to tradeoff the accuracy and efficiency.Some experiments are designed on the DiDi dataset to evaluate step by step the performance of spatio-temporal contexts,different recommendation models,and the O2O architecture.The results show that the proposed STC_DeepFM algorithm exceeds several state-of-the-art methods,and the O2O architecture achieves excellent real-time performance.展开更多

文摘This article aims to verify whether contextual theories affect TESOL teachers in Chinese local classrooms via observing three different English teachers’classroom behaviors by using qualitative method.The findings indicate that three major aspects usually affect English teachers:(1)The teacher’s education context affects their TESOL classroom contexts;(2)The institution’s requirements affect the teacher’s classroom contexts;(3)The spirit of quality-oriented education from the New National Stan dards for English influences the classroom contexts,which have proved the context theories.

文摘Background Continuous emotion recognition as a function of time assigns emotional values to every frame in a sequence.Incorporating long-term temporal context information is essential for continuous emotion recognition tasks.Methods For this purpose,we employ a window of feature frames in place of a single frame as inputs to strengthen the temporal modeling at the feature level.The ideas of frame skipping and temporal pooling are utilized to alleviate the resulting redundancy.At the model level,we leverage the skip recurrent neural network to model the long-term temporal variability by skipping trivial information for continuous emotion recognition.Results The experimental results using the AVEC 2017 database demonstrate that our proposed methods are beneficial to a performance improvement.Further,the skip long short-term memory(LSTM)model can focus on the critical emotional state when training the models,thereby achieving a better performance than the LSTM model and other methods.

文摘Short-term GPS data based taxi pick-up area recommendation can improve the efficiency and reduce the overheads.But how to alleviate sparsity and further enhance accuracy is still challenging.Addressing at these issues,we propose to fuse spatio-temporal contexts into deep factorization machine(STC_DeepFM)offline for pick-up area recommendation,and within the area to recommend pick-up points online using factorization machine(FM).Firstly,we divide the urban area into several grids with equal size.Spatio-temporal contexts are destilled from pick-up points or points-of-interest(POIs)belonged to the preceding grids.Secondly,the contexts are integrated into deep factorization machine(DeepFM)to mine high-order interaction relationships from grids.And a novel algorithm named STC_DeepFM is presented for offline pick-up area recommendation.Thirdly,we devise the architecture of offline-to-online(O2O)recommendation respectively based on DeepFM and FM model in order to tradeoff the accuracy and efficiency.Some experiments are designed on the DiDi dataset to evaluate step by step the performance of spatio-temporal contexts,different recommendation models,and the O2O architecture.The results show that the proposed STC_DeepFM algorithm exceeds several state-of-the-art methods,and the O2O architecture achieves excellent real-time performance.

文摘Attribute reduction of formal decision context mainly uses the relationship between two concept lattices generated by the condition and decision attributes to remove redundant condition attributes.By using decision attributes to observe the covering of objects,this study defines two types of consistent sets and reducts in a consistent formal decision context based on neighbourhood systems.Four types of reductions in inconsistent formal decision contexts are also studied.The methods to calculate all types of reductions are formulated by discernibility matrix.Finally,an approach to obtain the decision rules in consistent formal decision context is proposed.
