Correspondingly, the production would be constrained by the scarcity of resources clearly. Then the economic researchers would pay much more attention to reducing the consumption of natural resources in the future. Therefore this paper brings foreword the conception of elasticity ratio of resource consumption based on the concept of elasticity and analyzes the relationship between the parameters. For the certain relationships between the elasticity ratio of resource consumption and resource consumption, this paper will try to reveal, to keep economy growing while resource consumption reducing, what conditions should be met as to the relationships among resource productivity, its growth rate, energy saving efficiency, economic growth rate and elasticity ratio of resource consumption. This paper proves the relationship between the China's energy consumption and economy growth using statistic data from 1978 to 2003. 展开更多

China's energy consumption for agricultural production has relied on petroleum and coal with relatively low input from power and other types of energy for a long time.Projections indicate that as China's existing development trend leads to substantial growth of energy demand for agricultural production, such a long term irrational energy consumption pattern would unlikely be able to meet the needs of the country's developing agricultural sector. As such,it is recommended that China's agricultural sector should follow the national energy development strategy guideline by gradually increasing the use of wind power, solar energy, biomass and other new energy sources while advancing technological innovations on traditional energy sources.Meanwhile,as the consumption structure of three major energy sources(i.e.petroleum,coal,and power)is optimized, development and application of biomass from agriculture as raw materials for alternative energy should be enhanced.Lastly, the development and application of wind power, solar energy, and hydropower in agricultural production should be increased in areas where appropriate. 展开更多

China's public rental policy creates opportunities for poor households to rent apartments at low rental prices. In addition to such an impact,we argue that public rental housing increases the purchasing power of the poor and therefore enhances the income elasticity of consumption,i.e.,the percentage of consumption increment due to a 1 percent increase in income.Based on a nationwide dataset from China, the Chinese Household Income Project 2018,we find that public rental housing significantly increases the marginal impact of household disposable income on consumption.Specifically, our analysis suggests that public rental apartments could increase the income elasticity of consumption demand by 18 percent among all rental households and by 24 percent among rental households with below-average income. We also find that the effect of public rental housing on income elasticity of consumption is stronger for service consumption than for nonservice consumption. These results suggest that a well designed public rental policy could not only promote consumption in favor of the service industry but also alleviate the undesirable consequences of the unbalanced consumption structure caused by income inequality. 展开更多
