In this paper we consider a model in which the masses of elementary particles are formed and stabilized thanks to confining potential, which is caused by recoil momentum at emission of specific virtual bosons by particle itself. The calculation of this confining potential Ф(R) is carried out. It is shown that Ф(R) may be in the form const or const depending on continuous or discrete nature of the spectrum of emitted bosons. 展开更多

Because of its unique optoelectronic properties,people have studied the characteristics of polarons in various quantum well(QW)models.Among them,the asymmetrical semiexponential QW(ASEQW)is a new model for studying the structure of QWs in recent years.It is of great significance to study the influences of the impurity and anisotropic parabolic confinement potential(APCP)on the crystal’s properties,because some of the impurities,usually regarded as Coulomb’s impurity potential(CIP),will exist in the crystal more or less,and the APCP has flexible adjustment parameters.However,the energy characteristics of the ASEQW under the combined actions of impurities and APCP have not been studied,which is the motivation of this paper.Using the linear combination operation and Lee-Low-Pines unitary transformation methods,we investigate the vibrational frequency and the ground state energy of the strong coupling polaron in an ASEQW with the influences of the CIP at the origin of coordinates and APCP,and make a comparison between our results and previous literature’s.Our numerical results about the energy properties in the ASEQW influenced by the CIP and APCP may have important significances for experimental design and device preparation. 展开更多

Combining the deviation between thin layers' adjacent surfaces with the confining potential method applied to the quantum curved systems,we derive the effective Schr?dinger equation describing the particle constrained within a curved layer,accompanied by a general geometric potential V_(gq) composed of a compression-corrected geometric potential V_(gq)~*and a novel potential V_(gq)~(**) brought by the deviation.Applying this analysis to the cylindrical layer emerges two types of deviation-induced geometric potential,resulting from the the cases of slant deviation and tangent deviation,respectively,which strongly renormalizes the purely geometric potential and contribute to the energy spectrum based on a very substantial deepening of bound states they offer. 展开更多

A bound state formalism derived from a fermion-boson symmetric Lagrangian has been used to calculate the nucleon masses, the charge neutrality of the neutron, the magnetic moments and the electromagnetic form factor ratios μpGEp/GMpand μnGEn/GMn. A quantitative description is obtained, assuming a mixing of a scalar bound state of 3(f f¯)fstructure with its corresponding vector (f f¯)fstate (f indicating massless elementary fermions). Only a few parameters are needed, mainly fixed by energy and momentum conservation. The nucleon stability is explained by an extra binding in the confinement potential, negative for electric and positive for magnetic binding of the proton, and opposite for the neutron. The stronger electric extra binding of the proton allows a decay of the neutron to proton and electron. 展开更多

This paper applies the analytical transfer matrix method (ATMM) to calculate energy eigenvalues of a particle in low dimensional sharp confining potential for the first time, and deduces the quantization rules of this system. It presents three cases in which the applied method works very well. In the first quantum dot, the energy eigenvalues and eigenfunction are obtained, and compared with those acquired from the exact numerical analysis and the WKB (Wentzel, Kramers and Brillouin) method; in the second or the third case, we get the energy eigenvalues by the ATMM, and compare them with the EBK (Einstein, Brillouin and Keller) results or the wavefunction outcomes. From the comparisons, we find that the semiclassical method (WKB, EBK or wavefunction) is inexact in such systems. 展开更多

The polaron phenomenon is commonly observed in low-dimensional semiconductor materials and is known to have unique effects on conductive material properties.Furthermore,the phonon dragging effect,which leads to the polaron energy level,is less than the electron energy level.A decay magnetic field also affects the polaron effect,which causes polaron energy level changes.We demonstrate the unique electron-phonon coupling properties of this polaron using numerical calculations.Our findings have strong implications for theories of polaron properties and provide compelling evidence for a semiconductor device that industrial manufacturers use for new lowdimensional materials. 展开更多

On the basis of the growth mechanism of a GaAs/InAs nanoring, we propose a fine model which reflects the confinement details of real nanoring. Through calculations of the two-electron energy and far-infrared (FIR) spectra, we find that the ring topological structure and electron-electron interaction have great influence on the FIR spectra. The two unknown transition peaks in the experiment are determined theoretically. The theoretical results are in good agreement with the experiments. 展开更多

Stable solutions for q bound states with a regularized Breit potential

The Breit interaction contains singular terms which may lead to an instability in quark-antiquark bound state calculations. We regularize the Breit interaction by multiplying the singular terms in momentum space by the form factor μ^2/(q^2+μ^2) such that the interaction is not singular at the origin and the intermediate-and long-range parts of the interaction remain unchanged. The singular terms in the Breit potential find their stable contributions in the calculations after being multiplied by the form factor with different powers. Such a regularized Breit potential with a linear and a relativistically corrected confining potential are applied to the study of qq^- bound states. The spectra for most familiar mesons are consistently obtained and agree well with the experimental data. 展开更多

Our cal- culated results show that the vibrational frequency increases with increasing cyclotron frequency of the magnetic field; meanwhile, the absolute value of the ground state energy and the ground state binding energy decrease. The vibrational frequency, the absolute value of the ground state energy and the ground state binding energy are in- creasing functions of the barrier height of the AGCPQW. It is shown that the barrier height of the AGCPQW and the magnetic field are important factors that influence the properties of the magnetopolaron in AGCPQW. 展开更多

Using the phenomenological relativistic harmonic model (RHM) for quarks, we have obtained the masses of S wave charmonium and bottomonium states. The full Hamiltonian used in the investigation has Lorentz scalar plus vector confinement potential, along with the confined one gluon exchange potential (COGEP). A good agreement with the experimental masses for the ground and the radially excited states is obtained both for the triplet and singlet S wave mesons. The decay properties of the ground state charmonium and bottomonium are investigated. 展开更多

We discuss a unified model of quark confinement and new cosmic expansion with linear potentials based on a general(SU3)color×(U1)baryon symmetry. The phase functions in the usual gauge transformations are generalized to new ‘action integrals'. The general Yang-Mills transformations have group properties and reduce to usual gauge transformations in special cases. Both quarks and ‘gauge bosons' are permanently confined by linear potentials. In this unified model of particle-cosmology, physics in the largest cosmos and that in the smallest quark system appear to both be dictated by the general Yang-Mills symmetry and characterized by a universal length. The basic force between two baryons is independent of distance. However, the cosmic repulsive force exerted on a baryonic supernova by a uniform sphere of galaxies is proportional to the distance from the center of the sphere. The new general YangMills field may give a field-theoretic explanation of the accelerated cosmic expansion. The prediction could be tested experimentally by measuring the frequency shifts of supernovae at different distances. 展开更多
