With the sustained growth of the economy and significant changes in social demographics,the issue of elderly-related diseases has increasingly drawn attention,particularly.Alzheimer’s disease(AD),as a representative ...With the sustained growth of the economy and significant changes in social demographics,the issue of elderly-related diseases has increasingly drawn attention,particularly.Alzheimer’s disease(AD),as a representative disease of neurodegenerative diseases,has become a major challenge,affecting the health and quality of life of the elderly population severely.In recent years,the incidence,prevalence and mortality rates of AD have increased in China,imposing substantial economic burdens on families,society and the entire healthcare system.To proactively address this challenge and respond to the national‘Healthy China Action’initiative,leading experts from authoritative institutions jointly authored the China Alzheimer Report 2025.Building on previous editions,this report updates epidemiological data on AD in China,thoroughly analyses the latest economic burdens of the disease and comprehensively evaluates the current status of AD diagnosis and treatment services,as well as the allocation of public health resources in our country.Its release reflects China’s progress in AD research and prevention,underscores societal concern for elderly health and aims to provide scientific guidance and data support for AD prevention,diagnosis and treatment.It also facilitates academic exchanges and cooperation,enhancing public awareness and promoting active participation in elderly healthcare,towards achieving‘healthy ageing’in China.展开更多
BACKGROUND Monkeypox(Mpox),is a disease of global public health concern,as it does not affect only countries in western and central Africa.AIM To assess Burundi healthcare workers(HCWs)s’level of knowledge and confid...BACKGROUND Monkeypox(Mpox),is a disease of global public health concern,as it does not affect only countries in western and central Africa.AIM To assess Burundi healthcare workers(HCWs)s’level of knowledge and confidence in the diagnosis and management of Mpox.METHODS We conducted a cross-sectional study via an online survey designed mainly from the World Health Organization course distributed among Burundi HCWs from June-July 2023.The questionnaire comprises 8 socioprofessional-related questions,22 questions about Mpox disease knowledge,and 3 questions to assess confidence in Mpox diagnosis and management.The data were analyzed via SPSS software version 25.0.A P value<0.05 was considered to indicate statistical significance.RESULTS The study sample comprised 471 HCWs who were mainly medical doctors(63.9%)and nurses(30.1%).None of the 22 questions concerning Mpox knowledge had at least 50%correct responses.A very low number of HCWs(17.4%)knew that Mpox has a vaccine.The confidence level to diagnose(21.20%),treat(18.00%)or prevent(23.30%)Mpox was low among HCWs.The confidence level in the diagnosis of Mpox was associated with the HCWs’age(P value=0.009),sex(P value<0.001),work experience(P value=0.002),and residence(P value<0.001).The confidence level to treat Mpox was significantly associated with the HCWs’age(P value=0.050),sex(P value<0.001),education(P value=0.033)and occupation(P value=0.005).The confidence level to prevent Mpox was associated with the HCWs’education(P value<0.001),work experience(P value=0.002),residence(P value<0.001)and type of work institution(P value=0.003).CONCLUSION This study revealed that HCWs have the lowest level of knowledge regarding Mpox and a lack of confidence in the ability to diagnose,treat or prevent it.There is an urgent need to organize continuing medical education programs on Mpox epidemiology and preparedness for Burundi HCWs.We encourage future researchers to assess potential hesitancy toward Mpox vaccination and its associated factors.展开更多

Salinity is a major issue threatening global food security.Among the different strategies,nanotechnology has shown tremendous potential for improving crop production under abiotic stresses such as salinity.In this rev...Salinity is a major issue threatening global food security.Among the different strategies,nanotechnology has shown tremendous potential for improving crop production under abiotic stresses such as salinity.In this review,we discuss the environmental challenges associated with the different methods of nanomaterial application,including seed nanopriming,as well as foliar and soil/root application.Based on previous research,nanopriming uses less nanomaterials and has minimal concerns regarding environmental safety and the food chain.We discuss in detail the preventive measures for the safe and sustainable use of nanomaterials in agriculture based on the application methods.Furthermore,we summarize the role of antioxidant enzyme-triggering nanomaterials and direct reactive oxygen species(ROS)scavenging nanomaterials(nanozymes)in plant salt tolerance.Nanomaterials can improve sodium(Na^(+))and potassium(K^(+))homeostasis through various anatomical,physiological,and molecular mechanisms while improving plant salt tolerance.The role of nanomaterials in modulating plant photosynthesis and hormonal balance has been largely overlooked.We also identify research gaps and provide guidelines for future research work.This review provides guidelines for helping researchers to understand the proper design of nanoparticles(NPs)and different plant-related factors while using NPs for plant stress tolerance.These considerations will help to improve the efficient delivery of NPs into plants.Furthermore,after gaining sufficient scientific knowledge and better understanding,NPs can be integral to sustainable agriculture,while saving costs and reducing biosafety concerns and environmental pollution.展开更多
BACKGROUND:In-flight medical emergencies(IMEs)present significant challenges to healthcare professionals,particularly those with limited training or experience in managing such situations.The objective of this study w...BACKGROUND:In-flight medical emergencies(IMEs)present significant challenges to healthcare professionals,particularly those with limited training or experience in managing such situations.The objective of this study was to evaluate the level of knowledge,attitudes,and behaviors of licensed doctors in Saudi Arabia concerning IMEs,and to identify the demographic factors influencing their preparedness.METHODS:A cross-sectional study was conducted with a sample of 383 licensed physicians across five regions of Saudi Arabia.Participants completed a self-administered questionnaire assessing demographics,knowledge of IMEs,attitudes towards providing assistance,and previous experience with in-flight emergencies.Data were analyzed using SPSS 26,with statistical significance set at P<0.05.RESULTS:The results revealed a predominantly young(75.8% aged 25-34 years)and male(69.6%)participant pool.While 76.6% of respondents recognized the impact of cabin pressure on oxygen,only 45.4% correctly identified air travel risks for asthmatic patients.Although 66.8% felt confident assisting in IMEs,20.9% cited medicolegal concerns.Moreover,area of working within Saudi Arabia(P=0.020),year of experience(P=0.041),prior experience with IMEs(P=0.021),and IMEs training(P<0.001)had a significant association with levels of knowledge.CONCLUSION:The study highlights a critical need for enhanced training programs with a focus on the management of IMEs among healthcare practitioners in Saudi Arabia.展开更多
With growing urban areas,the climate continues to change as a result of growing populations,and hence,the demand for better emergency response systems has become more important than ever.Human Behaviour Classi.cation(...With growing urban areas,the climate continues to change as a result of growing populations,and hence,the demand for better emergency response systems has become more important than ever.Human Behaviour Classi.cation(HBC)systems have started to play a vital role by analysing data from di.erent sources to detect signs of emergencies.These systems are being used inmany critical areas like healthcare,public safety,and disastermanagement to improve response time and to prepare ahead of time.But detecting human behaviour in such stressful conditions is not simple;it o.en comes with noisy data,missing information,and the need to react in real time.This review takes a deeper look at HBC research published between 2020 and 2025.and aims to answer.ve speci.c research questions.These questions cover the types of emergencies discussed in the literature,the datasets and sensors used,the e.ectiveness of machine learning(ML)and deep learning(DL)models,and the limitations that still exist in this.eld.We explored 120 papers that used di.erent types of datasets,some were based on sensor data,others on social media,and a few used hybrid approaches.Commonly used models included CNNs,LSTMs,and reinforcement learning methods to identify behaviours.Though a lot of progress has been made,the review found ongoing issues in combining sensors properly,reacting fast enough,and using more diverse datasets.Overall,from the.ndings we observed,the focus should be on building systems that use multiple sensors together,gather real-time data on a large scale,and produce results that are easier to interpret.Proper attention to privacy and ethical concerns needs to be addressed as well.展开更多
Indoor radon concentrations have become a significant health concern due to their long-term deleterious effects on the lungs.Radon exposure is a leading cause of lung cancer,especially among non-smokers,making it crit...Indoor radon concentrations have become a significant health concern due to their long-term deleterious effects on the lungs.Radon exposure is a leading cause of lung cancer,especially among non-smokers,making it critical to understand the risk factors associated with radon presence.This article evaluates radon levels in a single-family house located to the northwest of Madrid.The study was conducted during both summer and winter seasons,which are the predominant periods for this region.The research aims to analyze the varying radon concentrations observed during these seasons,considering factors such as ventilation,seasonal temperature differences,and the specific construction materials used in the house.The accumulation of radon can be influenced by the permeability of the building’s foundation,materials,and the effectiveness of natural ventilation systems.In winter,reduced ventilation can lead tohigher radon levels due to the sealing of windows and doors to retain heat,while summer conditions may providemore opportunities for ventilation,potentially reducing concentrations.This study examines how these factors interact,exploring the relationship between indoor air quality and radon levels.Measurements before and after ventilationrenewal are included to assess any changes in radon concentrations.The findings aim to provide a better understandingof the behavior of radon in residential settings and offer practical recommendations for mitigating its health risks,especially in homes with poor ventilation and specific construction characteristics.Ultimately,the results could guidestrategies for improving indoor air quality and reducing radon exposure in similar homes.展开更多

文摘With growing urban areas,the climate continues to change as a result of growing populations,and hence,the demand for better emergency response systems has become more important than ever.Human Behaviour Classi.cation(HBC)systems have started to play a vital role by analysing data from di.erent sources to detect signs of emergencies.These systems are being used inmany critical areas like healthcare,public safety,and disastermanagement to improve response time and to prepare ahead of time.But detecting human behaviour in such stressful conditions is not simple;it o.en comes with noisy data,missing information,and the need to react in real time.This review takes a deeper look at HBC research published between 2020 and 2025.and aims to answer.ve speci.c research questions.These questions cover the types of emergencies discussed in the literature,the datasets and sensors used,the e.ectiveness of machine learning(ML)and deep learning(DL)models,and the limitations that still exist in this.eld.We explored 120 papers that used di.erent types of datasets,some were based on sensor data,others on social media,and a few used hybrid approaches.Commonly used models included CNNs,LSTMs,and reinforcement learning methods to identify behaviours.Though a lot of progress has been made,the review found ongoing issues in combining sensors properly,reacting fast enough,and using more diverse datasets.Overall,from the.ndings we observed,the focus should be on building systems that use multiple sensors together,gather real-time data on a large scale,and produce results that are easier to interpret.Proper attention to privacy and ethical concerns needs to be addressed as well.

文摘Indoor radon concentrations have become a significant health concern due to their long-term deleterious effects on the lungs.Radon exposure is a leading cause of lung cancer,especially among non-smokers,making it critical to understand the risk factors associated with radon presence.This article evaluates radon levels in a single-family house located to the northwest of Madrid.The study was conducted during both summer and winter seasons,which are the predominant periods for this region.The research aims to analyze the varying radon concentrations observed during these seasons,considering factors such as ventilation,seasonal temperature differences,and the specific construction materials used in the house.The accumulation of radon can be influenced by the permeability of the building’s foundation,materials,and the effectiveness of natural ventilation systems.In winter,reduced ventilation can lead tohigher radon levels due to the sealing of windows and doors to retain heat,while summer conditions may providemore opportunities for ventilation,potentially reducing concentrations.This study examines how these factors interact,exploring the relationship between indoor air quality and radon levels.Measurements before and after ventilationrenewal are included to assess any changes in radon concentrations.The findings aim to provide a better understandingof the behavior of radon in residential settings and offer practical recommendations for mitigating its health risks,especially in homes with poor ventilation and specific construction characteristics.Ultimately,the results could guidestrategies for improving indoor air quality and reducing radon exposure in similar homes.
文摘Chinese food culture boasts a long history and rich connotations.As an important window for disseminating Chinese food culture,A Bite of China’s English translation plays a crucial role in the international spread of culture.Culture-loaded words concerning food carry profound cultural heritages,posing numerous challenges to translation.This study takes Eco-Translatology as the theoretical framework,and adopts the case-study method to explore English translation of such words.It selects a large number of translation cases of culture-loaded words related to food from the English version of A Bite of China and deeply analyzes them.This study demonstrates that Eco-Translatology has significant guiding value for the English translation of culture-loaded food words in A Bite of China.Its multi-dimensional transformation strategies contribute to improving translation quality,providing practical references for the translation of Chinese food culture into foreign languages,and playing a positive role in promoting food culture exchange.
