This study aims to clarify the conceptual characteristics of artifact utilization in nursing practice instruction. Five selected articles were analyzed using the concept analysis method by Walker and Avant. The attributes, antecedents, and consequences of the concept were extracted from the target literature. The analysis revealed two attributes (“connecting people to people” and “connecting people to objects”);two antecedents (“recognition of artifacts” and “selection of artifacts”);and two consequences (“designing a fulfilling learning environment” and “improving the quality of education”). The concept was defined as “promoting the utilization of artifacts by recognizing and selecting them, connecting people to people and people to objects, designing a fulfilling learning environment, and improving the quality of education”. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Computer-aided diagnosis(CAD)may assist endoscopists in identifying and classifying polyps during colonoscopy for detecting colorectal cancer.AIM To build a system using CAD to detect and classify polyps based on the Yamada classification.METHODS A total of 24045 polyp and 72367 nonpolyp images were obtained.We established a computer-aided detection and Yamada classification model based on the YOLOv7 neural network algorithm.Frame-based and image-based evaluation metrics were employed to assess the performance.RESULTS Computer-aided detection and Yamada classification screened polyps with a precision of 96.7%,a recall of 95.8%,and an F1-score of 96.2%,outperforming those of all groups of endoscopists.In regard to the Yamada classification of polyps,the CAD system displayed a precision of 82.3%,a recall of 78.5%,and an F1-score of 80.2%,outper-forming all levels of endoscopists.In addition,according to the image-based method,the CAD had an accuracy of 99.2%,a specificity of 99.5%,a sensitivity of 98.5%,a positive predictive value of 99.0%,a negative predictive value of 99.2%for polyp detection and an accuracy of 97.2%,a specificity of 98.4%,a sensitivity of 79.2%,a positive predictive value of 83.0%,and a negative predictive value of 98.4%for poly Yamada classification.CONCLUSION We developed a novel CAD system based on a deep neural network for polyp detection,and the Yamada classi-fication outperformed that of nonexpert endoscopists.This CAD system could help community-based hospitals enhance their effectiveness in polyp detection and classification. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Early detection of precancerous lesions is of vital importance for reducing the incidence and mortality of upper gastrointestinal(UGI)tract cancer.However,traditional endoscopy has certain limitations in detecting precancerous lesions.In contrast,real-time computer-aided detection(CAD)systems enhanced by artificial intelligence(AI)systems,although they may increase unnecessary medical procedures,can provide immediate feedback during examination,thereby improving the accuracy of lesion detection.This article aims to conduct a meta-analysis of the diagnostic performance of CAD systems in identifying precancerous lesions of UGI tract cancer during esophagogastroduodenoscopy(EGD),evaluate their potential clinical application value,and determine the direction for further research.AIM To investigate the improvement of the efficiency of EGD examination by the realtime AI-enabled real-time CAD system(AI-CAD)system.METHODS PubMed,EMBASE,Web of Science and Cochrane Library databases were searched by two independent reviewers to retrieve literature with per-patient analysis with a deadline up until April 2025.A meta-analysis was performed with R Studio software(R4.5.0).A random-effects model was used and subgroup analysis was carried out to identify possible sources of heterogeneity.RESULTS The initial search identified 802 articles.According to the inclusion criteria,2113 patients from 10 studies were included in this meta-analysis.The pooled accuracy difference,logarithmic difference of diagnostic odds ratios,sensitivity,specificity and the area under the summary receiver operating characteristic curve(area under the curve)of both AI group and endoscopist group for detecting precancerous lesion were 0.16(95%CI:0.12-0.20),-0.19(95%CI:-0.75-0.37),0.89(95%CI:0.85-0.92,AI group),0.67(95%CI:0.63-0.71,endoscopist group),0.89(95%CI:0.84-0.93,AI group),0.77(95%CI:0.70-0.83,endoscopist group),0.928(95%CI:0.841-0.948,AI group),0.722(95%CI:0.677-0.821,endoscopist group),respectively.CONCLUSION The present studies further provide evidence that the AI-CAD is a reliable endoscopic diagnostic tool that can be used to assist endoscopists in detection of precancerous lesions in the UGI tract.It may be introduced on a large scale for clinical application to enhance the accuracy of detecting precancerous lesions in the UGI tract. 展开更多

Language learning and cultural communication are inherently intertwined and mutually reinforcing.In the context of college English instruction,emphasizing“telling China’s stories well”aligns with the principles of foreign language education and inevitably promotes cultural exchange and mutual understanding across different cultures through foreign language learning.Many researchers have explored ways of cultivating students’ability to communicate Chinese stories and spread Chinese culture in English.However,a few studies have been performed on exploring paths of incorporating regional culture into English language education.In particular,incorporating Qinghai’s indigenous cultural resources into college English teaching practice is rare.Therefore,a survey was conducted to ascertain the present situation concerning integrating Qinghai’s regional culture into college English teaching practice at Qinghai University.Based on the data from the survey,the present study discusses the results and implications obtained during the present teaching process and probes into practical strategies for the infiltration of Qinghai’s regional culture into college English teaching from the dimensions of curriculum,teaching materials,approaches,teachers’professional development,and teaching evaluation,intending to achieve the goals of language teaching and cultural education in the college English course. 展开更多

This study explores differentiated instructional strategies in higher education,focusing on municipal universities in Beijing to address the needs of students requiring special academic and psychological support.Despite standardized cultivation frameworks in universities,significant variations persist among undergraduates in academic planning,cognitive traits,and psychological profiles.A minority of students face challenges due to cognitive misjudgments(e.g.,unrealistic self-assessment),goal fixation(e.g.,excessive focus on postgraduate exams or studying abroad),psychological barriers(e.g.,social withdrawal),or mental health crises,which hinder their academic integration and personal development.Universities must adopt flexible,compliance-oriented differentiated instruction within standardized frameworks to support at-risk students.Strategies should balance personalized interventions with institutional fairness,ensuring equitable opportunities for all students while safeguarding academic integrity. 展开更多

Objective:To analyze the necessity and effectiveness of vestibular rehabilitation training instruction in the treatment of sudden deafness accompanied by vertigo.Methods:Sixty medical staff who learned the treatment methods for sudden deafness accompanied by vertigo(vestibular rehabilitation training)from January 2024 to February 2025 were selected as the research subjects.They were divided into two groups according to the time of study:the control group,who participated in the training teaching first,and the observation group,who participated later.Each group had 30 people.The control group received conventional training,while the observation group underwent continuous quality improvement.The effects and assessment results of different teaching methods were compared.Results:The theoretical and practical assessment scores of medical staff in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(p<0.05);the satisfaction of medical staff in the observation group with the teaching mode was higher than that in the control group(p<0.05).Conclusion:Vestibular rehabilitation training has significant effects on sudden deafness accompanied by vertigo.Training medical staff not only enhances their understanding of training methods but also enables them to provide specialized guidance to patients,improving their vertigo condition. 展开更多

Modules enable students to engage with content at their own pace,fostering autonomy and deeper understanding.The modular approach ensures clarity in presenting objectives,instructions,and concepts,while having illustrations,activities,and assessments could enhance comprehension and retention.This paper was a developmental study on STS module for college students using the ADDIE Model(Analysis,Design,Development,Implementation,and Evaluation).Sampled 673 first-year students from Northwest Samar State University participated in the study,with 299 participating in a test try-out and 374 in the students’performance evaluation.Three expert evaluators with backgrounds in science,English,and psychology,each with over four years of experience,assessed the modules to ensure alignment with the study’s constructivist learning goals and instructional integrity.The findings revealed that both students and experts had rated the instructional module positively,indicating its effectiveness in facilitating learning and completing lessons.Key aspects such as the style of illustrations and written expressions,the usefulness of learning activities,and the guidance provided by illustrations and captions were especially well-received.The module was praised for its clear objectives,understandable instructions,and engaging tasks like trivia and puzzles.Expert evaluations highlighted relevance,simplicity,and balanced emphasis on topics in the module content.Furthermore,students in test group demonstrated significant improvement in performance,with post-test scores notably higher than pre-test scores,confirming the module’s effectiveness in enhancing learning outcomes.Consequently,this paper provides an opportunity to integrate science learning with initiatives aimed at promoting environmental preservation and driving social change. 展开更多

Visual entailment(VE)is a prototypical task in multimodal visual reasoning,where current methods frequently utilize large language models(LLMs)as the knowledge base to assist in answering questions.These methods heavily rely on the textual modality,which inherently cannot capture the full extent of information contained within images.We propose a context-aware visual entailment(CAVE)model,which introduces a novel aggregation module designed to extract high-level semantic features from images.This module integrates lower-level semantic image features into high-level visual tokens,formatting them similarly to text tokens so that they can serve as inputs for LLMs.The CAVE model compensates for the loss of image information and integrates it more effectively with textual comprehension.Additionally,the CAVE model incorporates a new input format and training methodology,which is rooted in instruction tuning and in-context learning techniques.The objective of this research is to maximize the inherent logical reasoning capabilities of LLMs.Experimental results on the E-SNLIVE dataset show that the proposed CAVE model exhibits outstanding performance. 展开更多
