The associationsbetween self-reported low quality of life (QoL) and reversion of prefrailty/frailty were analyzed using multivariate logistic regression models. Associationswith mortality risk were analyzed using Cox proportional hazardregression models.Results: A total of 13,859 participants (mean age: 85.8 ± 11.1 years) containing2056 centenarians were included. Financial dependence was a risk factor for lowQoL among prefrail/frail individuals, but not among robust individuals. Havingcommercial or other insurance, and receiving social support from the communitywere protective factors for low QoL among prefrail/frail individuals and for theworsening of prefrailty. Continuing to work was a risk factor for low QoL, but aprotective factor for worsening of prefrailty. A negative association betweencontinuing to work and mortality existed in prefrail individuals aged <85 yearsand ≥85 years. Living alone was a risk factor for low QoL, but was notsignificantly associated with frailty prognosis.Conclusions: Prefrail and frail individuals were vulnerable to changes insocioeconomic support and more sensitive to it compared with robustindividuals. These high levels of world anemia prevalence have been maintained and even growing in spite of the global and national food fortification programmes carried out in several places. These have been based on the iron fortification of local foods. In Brazil a wheat flour iron fortification program has been going on for several years and the anemia prevalence has been going on as a still large public health problem. We started since the nineties and in several under five day care centers, in various part of Brazil a new program using drinking water as the iron carrier for the prevention of iron deficiency anemia. It was shown through several studies in different places in Brazil that drinking water being available everywhere, daily consumed by everyone, children, adults and old people have shown to be effective for the prevention of iron anemia. Iron salts are low-priced, water soluble, effective, easily and locally prepared, should be known and accepted as a rational, practical and effective locally community preventive solution for iron anemia, still a great problem of our developing and underdeveloped countries of the world.展开更多
An online patient support community(OPSC)facilitates information exchange and emotional support among patients with shared health conditions.While the benefits of OPSCs for patients’physical and mental well-being are...An online patient support community(OPSC)facilitates information exchange and emotional support among patients with shared health conditions.While the benefits of OPSCs for patients’physical and mental well-being are well-documented,the antecedent factors that drive patients to provide informational and emotional support remain underexplored.This study extends social identity theory to investigate how professional capital—comprised of human capital,decisional capital,and social capital—affects the provision of social support in OPSCs.The study also examines how identity rights,representing community status and privileges,moderate this relationship.An empirical study was conducted on one of the largest diabetes OPSCs in China,analyzing 227,901 text interactions from 5,977 members.Using text mining analytics(i.e.,text classifiers and latent Dirichlet allocation models),we measured professional capital and examined its influence on social support provision.The results reveal that professional capital significantly impacts the provision of both informational and emotional support.Specifically,the human and decisional dimensions of professional capital exert a stronger influence than the social dimension.Additionally,identity rights positively moderate the effects of professional capital on social support provision,showing that members with higher status and privileges contribute more actively.These findings have important implications for both management theory and practice.展开更多
