Cholesteric liquid crystals(CLCs)exhibit unique helical superstructures that selectively reflect circularly polarized light,enabling them to dynamically respond to environmental changes with tunable structural colors....Cholesteric liquid crystals(CLCs)exhibit unique helical superstructures that selectively reflect circularly polarized light,enabling them to dynamically respond to environmental changes with tunable structural colors.This dynamic color-changing capability is crucial for applications that require adaptable optical properties,positioning CLCs as key materials in advanced photonic technologies.This review focuses on the mechanisms of dynamic color tuning in CLCs across various forms,including small molecules,cholesteric liquid crystal elastomers(CLCEs),and cholesteric liquid crystal networks(CLCNs),and emphasizes the distinct responsive coloration each structure provides.Key developments in photochromic mechanisms based on azobenzene,dithienylethene,and molecular motor switches,are discussed for their roles in enhancing the stability and tuning range of CLCs.We examine the color-changing behaviors of CLCEs under mechanical stimuli and CLCNs under swelling,highlighting the advantages of each form.Following this,applications of dynamic color-tuning CLCs in information encryption,adaptive camouflage,and smart sensing technologies are explored.The review concludes with an outlook on current challenges and future directions in CLC research,particularly in biomimetic systems and dynamic photonic devices,aiming to broaden their functional applications and impact.展开更多
The strategic design and synthesis of photothermal/photocatalytic materials are pivotal to realizing photothermal conversion water evaporation coupled with photocatalytic sewage purification functions.In this work,bas...The strategic design and synthesis of photothermal/photocatalytic materials are pivotal to realizing photothermal conversion water evaporation coupled with photocatalytic sewage purification functions.In this work,based on the principle of three primary colors,brick-red g-C_(3)N_(4)/Ag_(2)CrO_(4)composite was loaded onto a green polyurethane(PU)sponge using polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)as the linking agent.The resultant PU/PVA/g-C_(3)N_(4)/Ag_(2)CrO_(4)composite exhibits outstanding performance in simultaneous photothermal/photocatalytic water evaporation,pollutant degradation,sterilization,and thermoelectric generation.Under 1.0 kW m^(-2)irradiation,the water evaporation rate reaches 3.19 kg m^(-2)h-1,while a single thermoelectric module generates a maximum thermoelectric output power of 0.25 W m^(-2).Concurrently,rhodamine B(RhB)at a concentration of 4.0×10^(-4)mol L^(-1)undergoes complete photocatalytic degradation within 40 min.When the light intensity is 2.0 kW m^(-2),the evaporation rate soars to 8.52 kg m^(-2)h^(-1),and the thermoelectric power output increases to 1.1 W m^(-2).Furthermore,this photothermal/photocatalytic material based on the principle of three primary colors has excellent photothermal/photocatalytic antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli.By abandoning black light-absorbing materials,more active sites of the photocatalyst can be exposed.The g-C_(3)N_(4)/Ag_(2)CrO_(4)heterojunction accelerates the separation of photogenerated carriers,while the hydrophilic groups in the photothermal/photocatalytic materials reduce the water evaporation enthalpy.This research provides a novel approach for fabricating multi-function photothermal/photocatalytic materials,which could quicken the development of solution to freshwater and electricity energy shortages as well as environmental pollution issues.展开更多

Herein, we present a 2.5-dimensionaldynamic structural color based on nanogratings of heterogeneous materials, which were obtained by interweaving a pH-responsive hydrogelwith an IP-L photoresist. Controlling the construction of physical colors on the surfaces of transparent dielectric crystals is crucial for surface coloration and anti-counterfeiting applications.In this study,we present a novel approach to cr...Controlling the construction of physical colors on the surfaces of transparent dielectric crystals is crucial for surface coloration and anti-counterfeiting applications.In this study,we present a novel approach to creating stable physical colors on the surface of lithium niobate crystals by combining gold ion implantation with laser direct writing technologies.The interaction between the laser,the implanted gold nanoparticles,and the crystal lattice induces permanent,localized modifications on the crystal surface.By fine-tuning the laser direct writing parameters,we reshaped the gold nanoparticles into spheres of varying sizes on the crystal surface,resulting in the display of red,green,blue,and pale-yellow colors.We investigated the influence of the implanted Au nanoparticles-particularly their localized surface plasmon resonances-on the modifications of the lithium niobate crystal lattice during the laser writing process using confocal Raman spectroscopy and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy.Our findings reveal that the embedded Au nanoparticles play a pivotal role in altering the conventional light-matter interaction between the crystal lattice and the laser,thereby facilitating the generation of surface colors.This work opens new avenues for the development of vibrant surface colors on transparent dielectric crystals.展开更多

A quick and accurate extraction of dominant colors of background images is the basis of adaptive camouflage design.This paper proposes a Color Image Quick Fuzzy C-Means(CIQFCM)clustering algorithm based on clustering ...A quick and accurate extraction of dominant colors of background images is the basis of adaptive camouflage design.This paper proposes a Color Image Quick Fuzzy C-Means(CIQFCM)clustering algorithm based on clustering spatial mapping.First,the clustering sample space was mapped from the image pixels to the quantized color space,and several methods were adopted to compress the amount of clustering samples.Then,an improved pedigree clustering algorithm was applied to obtain the initial class centers.Finally,CIQFCM clustering algorithm was used for quick extraction of dominant colors of background image.After theoretical analysis of the effect and efficiency of the CIQFCM algorithm,several experiments were carried out to discuss the selection of proper quantization intervals and to verify the effect and efficiency of the CIQFCM algorithm.The results indicated that the value of quantization intervals should be set to 4,and the proposed algorithm could improve the clustering efficiency while maintaining the clustering effect.In addition,as the image size increased from 128×128 to 1024×1024,the efficiency improvement of CIQFCM algorithm was increased from 6.44 times to 36.42 times,which demonstrated the significant advantage of CIQFCM algorithm in dominant colors extraction of large-size images.展开更多

This essay intends to explore the symbolic meanings of colors in the novel, suggesting that the color imagery contributes to reproducing the kaleidoscope in the magnificent social life of Jazz Age and implies the inevitable disillusionment of the protagonist's American dream that is defined as his pursuit of romantic love with Daisy, further intertwined with the search for a personal grail.

文摘This art project,by means of an empirical and experiential research,aspires to visually transfer the relationship that the colors and the architecture of the former ENI Village in Corte di Cadore,designed by Edoardo Gellner,share with the natural environment that surrounds it.The artistic research is based on and expresses the need to proceed by freely cataloging the vegetation that embraces the buildings that make up the village and experiences,in the choice of colors made by Gellner,a particular correspondence with Goethe’s“Theory of colors”.In conjunction with my artistic research and the production of the images,where the plants are removed from their natural context,an applied study which envisages the design of a flip-open table came to life.

文摘The method of research and design that characterized Gellner has been analyzed in depth in this research and his own steps have been retraced on some themes.The uniqueness of his method lies in the way he transformed the data and information gathered into design outcomes on both a large and small scale by reinterpreting traditional architecture and reconstructing elements of the landscape through its shapes and colors.This method applied to town planning also led other planners to use the elements he synthesized within their projects,creating a contemporary landscape for the great event of the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d’Ampezzo.The purpose of this paper is to highlight the importance of this approach to the transformation of the territory and to emphasize the need to preserve these significant works also in view of the new Olympic event that will cross these valleys in 2026.
