The dependence of perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) on the barrier layer MgO thickness in MgO/CoFeB /Ta multilayers is investigated. The results show that the strongest PMA occurs in a small window of about 2 4nm with the increase of MgO thickness from 1-1Onto. The crystalline degree of MgO and the change of interatomic distance along the out-of-plane direction may be the main reasons for the change of PMA in these multilayers. Moreover, the roughnesses of 2- and 4-nm-thick MgO samples are 3.163 and 1.8 nm, respectively, and both the samples show PMA. These results could be used to tune the magnetic characteristic of the ultra thin CoFeB film for future applications in perpendicular magnetic devices. 展开更多

First-principles calculations for the elastic properties of Ni-base model superalloys: Ni/Ni_3Al multilayers 被引量:5

A model system consisting of Ni[001](100)/Ni3Al[001](100) multi-layers are studied using the density functional theory in order to explore the elastic properties of single crystal Ni-based superalloys. Simulation results are consistent with the experimental observation that rafted Ni-base superalloys virtually possess a cubic symmetry. The convergence of the elastic properties with respect to the thickness of the multilayers are tested by a series of multilayers from 2γ′+2γto 10γ′+10γ atomic layers. The elastic properties are found to vary little with the increase of the multilayer's thickness. A Ni/Ni3Al multilayer with 10γ′+10γ atomic layers (3.54 nm) can be used to simulate the mechanical properties of Ni-base model superalloys. Our calculated elastic constants, bulk modulus, orientation-dependent shear modulus and Young's modulus, as well as the Zener anisotropy factor are all compatible with the measured results of Ni-base model superalloys R1 and the advanced commercial superalloys TMS-26, CMSX-4 at a low temperature. The mechanical properties as a function of the γ′ phase volume fraction are calculated by varying the proportion of the γ and γ′ phase in the multilayers. Besides, the mechanical properties of two-phase Ni/Ni3Al multilayer can be well predicted by the Voigt-Reuss-Hill rule of mixtures. 展开更多

Enhancement of post-annealing stability in Co/ Ni multilayers with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) was obtained by inserting Au layers into Ni/Co interfaces. After annealing at 350 ℃, the effective mag- netic anisotropy density (Kef0 for Ta(3)/Pt(2)/[Co(0.3)/ Ni(0.6)/Au(0.3)]× 3/Co(0.3)/Pt(1)/Ta(3) (in nm) keeps at 0.48 × 105 J·m^-3. Scanning transmission electron micro- scopy-high-angle annular dark field (STEM-HAADF) analysis shows that the diffusion between Ni and Co layers is obstructed by the Au insertion layers among them, which is responsible for the post-annealing stability enhancement of the multilayers. Multilayers with Pt insertion layers were also investigated as reference samples in this work. Com- pared with Pt-layer-inserted Co/Ni multilayers, the Au insertion layers are found to bring seldom interfacial PMA to the multilayers, making it competitive in being employed to enhance the post-annealing stability of PMA Co/Ni multilayers which are used for magnetic random access memory devices (MRAM). 展开更多

Under the optimum annealing condition, the MR ratio increases up to 50% and 38% for Fe(Co) and Fe(Ni) systems, respectively. Nanomultilayered TiN/Ni thin films with different bilayer periods(57.8-99.7 nm) and Ni single-layer thickness(3.9-19.2 nm) were prepared by alternatively sputtering Ti and Ni targets in N2 gas atmosphere.The micros tructure,mechanical and corrosion properties of the multilayer films were investigated by X-ray diffraction(XRD),field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),nanoindenter and electrochemical technologies.The multilayer films are fine with a mean grain size of ~8-9 nm independent of the bilayer period.However,the smoothness and compactness seem to decrease with the bilayer period increasing.The hardness(H) and elastic modulus(E) of the multilayer films gradually decrease as the bilayer period increases,and the multilayer film with bilayer period of 57.8 nm exhibits higher H,ratios of(H/E^*and H^3/E^*2)(E^*is effective Young’s modulus)than the monolithic TiN film and the other multilayers.The multilayer films exhibit an obvious passivation phenomenon in 10% H2SO4 solution,and the passive current and corrosion current densities decrease,whereas the corrosion potential increases when the bilayer period or Ni single-layer thickness decreases.It is found that the passivating behavior and corrosion potential of the multilayers are more sensitive to Ni single-layer thickness than the bilayer period.More corrosion pits and lamellar flaking could be found on the films with larger bilayer period or Ni single-layer thickness. 展开更多

Zinc and Zn-Ni alloy compositionally modulated multilayer (CMM) coatings were electrodeposited on to a steel substrate by the successive deposition of zinc and Zn-Ni alloy sublayers from dual baths. The coated samples were evaluated in terms of the surface appearance, surface and cross-sectional morphologies, as well as corrosion resistance. The microstructural characteristics that were examined using the field emission gun scanning electron microscopy (FEGSEM) confirmed the layered structure, grain refinement of the zinc and Zn-Ni alloy CMM coatings, and revealed the existence of microcracks caused by the internal stress in the thick Zn-Ni alloy sublayers. The corrosion resistance that was evaluated by means of the salt spray test shows that the zinc and Zn-Ni alloy CMM coatings were more corrosion-resistant than the monolithic coatings of zinc or Zn-Ni alloy of the same thickness. The possible reasons for the better protective performance of Zn-Ni/Zn CMM coatings were given on the basis of the analysis on the micrographic features of zinc and Zn-Ni alloy CMM eoatings after the corrosion test. A probable corrosion mechanism of zinc and Zn-Ni alloy CMM coatings was also proposed. 展开更多

Al/Ni multilayer composites are produced by accumulative roll bonding process and then annealed with different temperatures and time.Macroscopic images,microstructure and mechanical properties of Al/Ni multilayer composites are investigated.As for the macroscopic images,although there was an edge crack along the rolling direction at the third pass,the defect of composites was not serious and the forming quality of composites was relatively good.The yield strength and elongation of Al/Ni multilayer composites are improved after the annealing treatment;however,with the increase in annealing temperature and time,the yield strength and ciongation of Al/Ni multilayer composites are decreased.During the process of annealing treatment,aluminum atoms diffuse in the way of vacancy diffusion,which results in the formation of Al3Ni intermetallic phase at Al/Ni interface and Kirkendall void in the aluminum side.The content of Al3Ni intermetallic phase and Kirkenckill void would increase with the increase in annealing temperature and time. 展开更多

A series of multilayers of Co36Fe46B18/SiO2 were fabricated by DC/RF magnetron sputtering,and further post-annealed in vacuum magnetic field at 200℃ for 2 h. The results show that the microstructures and electromagnetic properties of Co36Fe46B18/SiO2 multilayer films can be altered by varying the thickness of CoFeB and the process of annealing. High permeability along with high magnetic loss in the GHz frequency range is achieved in the optimized discontinuous multilayer films. Both real and imaginary parts of the complex permeability are larger than 260 at 1.6 GHz for this film,and the resistivity is as high as 1.4 mΩ·cm. The discontinuous Co36Fe46B18/SiO2 multilayers are supposed to serve as the microwave absorbers and EMI shielding materials in GHz range. 展开更多

Al/Ni reactive multilayer foil(RMF)possesses excellent comprehensive properties as a promising substitute for traditional Cu bridge.A theoretical resistivity model of Al/Ni RMF was developed to guide the optimization of EFIs.Al/Ni RMF with different bilayer thicknesses and bridge dimensions were prepared by MEMS technology and electrical explosion tests were carried out.According to physical and chemical reactions in bridge,the electrical explosion process was divided into 5 stages:heating of condensed bridge,vaporization and diffusion of Al layers,intermetallic combination reaction,intrinsic explosion,ionization of metal gases,which are obviously shown in measured voltage curve.Effects of interface and grain boundary scattering on the resistivity of film metal were considered.Focusing on variations of substance and state,the resistivity was developed as a function of temperature at each stage.Electrical explosion curves were calculated by this model at different bilayer thicknesses,bridge dimensions and capacitor voltages,which showed an excellent agreement with experimental ones. 展开更多

Novel properties and applications of multilayered nanowires(MNWs)urge researchers to understand their mechanical behaviors comprehensively.Using the molecular dynamic simulation,tensile behaviors of Ti/Ni MNWs are investigated under a series of layer thickness values(1.31,2.34,and 7.17 nm)and strain rates(1.0×10^(8)s^(-1)≤ε≤5.0×10^(10)s^(-1)).The results demonstrate that deformation mechanisms of isopachous Ti/Ni MNWs are determined by the layer thickness and strain rate.Four distinct strain rate regions in the tensile process can be discovered,which are small,intermediate,critical,and large strain rate regions.As the strain rate increases,the initial plastic behaviors transform from interface shear(the shortest sample)and grain reorientation(the longest sample)in small strain rate region to amorphization of crystalline structures(all samples)in large strain rate region.Microstructure evolutions reveal that the disparate tensile behaviors are ascribed to the atomic fractions of different structures in small strain rate region,and only related to collapse of crystalline atoms in high strain rate region.A layer thickness-strain rate-dependent mechanism diagram is given to illustrate the couple effect on the plastic deformation mechanisms of the isopachous nanowires.The results also indicate that the modulation ratio significantly affects the tensile properties of unequal Ti/Ni MNWs,but barely affect the plastic deformation mechanisms of the materials.The observations from this work will promote theoretical researches and practical applications of Ti/Ni MNWs. 展开更多

Zinc and Zn-Ni alloy compositionally modulated multilayer (CMM) coatings were electrodeposited from dual baths. The coated samples were evaluated in terms of surface appearance, surface and cross-sectional morphologies, as well as corrosion resistance. The results obtained from the salt spray test show that the zinc and Zn-Ni alloy CMM coatings are more corrosion-resistant than the monolithic coatings of zinc or Zn-Ni alloy alone with a similar thickness. The corrosion potential measurement and anodic polarisation tests were undertaken to examine the probable corrosion mechanisms of zinc and Zn-Ni alloy CMM coatings. Analysis on the micrographic features of zinc and Zn-Ni alloy CMM coatings after the corrosion test explains the probable reasons why the Zn-Ni/Zn CMM coatings have a better protective performance. Surface morphologies and compositional analysis of the remaining coating material of Zn-Ni alloy deposit after the corrosion test confirms the dezincification mechanism of the Zn-Ni alloy deposit during the corrosion process. 展开更多

采用累积叠轧(ARB)方法制备了Ni∶Al体积比为2∶1的Ni/Al复合材料,研究了加工硬化作用对复合材料中Ni颗粒减薄率、宽厚比、NiAl接触度、硬度的影响规律。结果表明:叠轧道次n≤5时复合材料主要以层状结构分布,发生断裂少,Ni颗粒厚度减薄... 采用累积叠轧(ARB)方法制备了Ni∶Al体积比为2∶1的Ni/Al复合材料,研究了加工硬化作用对复合材料中Ni颗粒减薄率、宽厚比、NiAl接触度、硬度的影响规律。结果表明:叠轧道次n≤5时复合材料主要以层状结构分布,发生断裂少,Ni颗粒厚度减薄快,NiAl接触度增加较快;当叠轧道次n>5时Ni层断裂增多,Ni颗粒减薄速率逐渐减慢,NiAl接触度增加减慢,宽厚比逐渐下降碎裂程度加重。建立了Ni颗粒减薄率(THK/THK0)、NiAl接触度S和轧制道次n之间的数学变化方程;建立了HVNi、HVAl、HVNi/Al随轧制道次n之间的数学拟合方程,发现随叠轧道次n的增加,HVNi、HVAl、HVNi/Al的硬度均得到增加,且HVNi、HVAl拟合方程均呈线性增加趋势;而叠轧道次小于7时HVNi/Al逐渐接近于HVAl,大于7道次后逐渐接近于HVNi,是由于叠轧道次增加Ni组元的变形和分布不均匀,导致硬度产生异常增大。 展开更多

Carbon/carbon composites modified by NiAl alloy were prepared using vacuum reactive melt infiltration methods with NiAl and titanium mixed powders as raw materials. The microstructures were investigated by scanning electron microscopy. The fracture behavior, infiltration and oxidation mechanism were further discussed. The results indicated that NiAl alloy exhibited good wettability on the C/C preform because a TiC reaction layer formed at the interface. Multi-layer(PyC/TiC/NiAl+TiC) coating evenly and compactly distributed on the surface of the carbon fiber in tubular form. The penetration depth of molten NiAl alloys depended on the reaction between the PyC and titanium. The impact fracture was inclined to along the interface between the NiAl permeability layer and C/C matrix. Al_2TiO_5 and TiO_2 formed on the surface, while the interior multi-layer tubular structure partially remained after oxidation at 1773 K for 30 min. 展开更多

以多孔阳极氧化铝(AAO)为模板,采用双槽法电沉积工艺制得高度有序的Cu/Ni多层纳米线阵列.利用扫描电镜(SEM)和透射电镜(TEM)对Cu/Ni多层纳米线进行了表征,观察到纳米线表面平滑,多层结构清晰,各子层厚度均匀,直径约为100nm,与AAO模板孔... 以多孔阳极氧化铝(AAO)为模板,采用双槽法电沉积工艺制得高度有序的Cu/Ni多层纳米线阵列.利用扫描电镜(SEM)和透射电镜(TEM)对Cu/Ni多层纳米线进行了表征,观察到纳米线表面平滑,多层结构清晰,各子层厚度均匀,直径约为100nm,与AAO模板孔径基本一致.由选区电子衍射(SAED)照片可知,多层纳米线中Cu层和Ni层均为单晶结构.振动样品磁强计(VSM)测试结果表明,Cu/Ni多层纳米线阵列具有明显的垂直磁各向异性,外加磁场垂直和平行于AAO模板表面时,磁滞回线的矩形比分别为0.701和0.101,矫顽力分别为589Oe和202Oe.通过控制铝阳极氧化工艺及电沉积时间,可获得不同直径、不同子层厚度的Cu/Ni多层纳米线阵列. 展开更多
