Cluster-Based Design for Two-hop Cellular Networks

Optimal resource allocation with an objective of maximizing the system capacity is an NP-hard problem in multihop cellular networks. Hence, different heuristic algorithms have been developed over the years that would improve the network system capacity. In this paper, a novel cluster-based architecture is proposed for a two-hop cellular network whereby the transmission distance between any communicating pair is restricted to half the cell radius. In this design, a given radio resource is used by two simultaneously communicating pairs in every hexagonal cell, but for only half the time slot period. The characteristic feature of this cluster-based design is that it enables a frequency reuse ratio of one. The proposed hierarchical system is analyzed and tested under realistic propagation conditions including lognormal shadowing. It has been observed that the system capacity of a cluster-based design is 2.5 times that obtained from the single-hop cellular system with no relaying. In addition, the cluster-based design achieves higher capacity compared to state-of-the-art two-hop algorithms. This is an important finding since the hierarchical cluster-based approach has fewer degrees of freedom in the selection of the routing path for the end-to-end connection. Brazing filler metals are widely applied,which serve as an industrial adhesive in the joining of dissimilar structures.With the continuous emergence of new structures and materials,the demand for novel brazing filler metals is ever-increasing.It is of great significance to investigate the optimized composition design methods and to establish systematic design guidelines for brazing filler metals.This study elucidated the fundamental rules for the composition design of brazing filler metals from a three-dimensional perspective encompassing the basic properties of applied brazing filler metals,formability and processability,and overall cost.The basic properties of brazing filler metals refer to their mechanical properties,physicochemical properties,electromagnetic properties,corrosion resistance,and the wettability and fluidity during brazing.The formability and processability of brazing filler metals include the processes of smelting and casting,extrusion,rolling,drawing and ring-making,as well as the processes of granulation,powder production,and the molding of amorphous and microcrystalline structures.The cost of brazing filler metals corresponds to the sum of materials value and manufacturing cost.Improving the comprehensive properties of brazing filler metals requires a comprehensive and systematic consideration of design indicators.Highlighting the unique characteristics of brazing filler metals should focus on relevant technical indicators.Binary or ternary eutectic structures can effectively enhance the flow spreading ability of brazing filler metals,and solid solution structures contribute to the formability.By employing the proposed design guidelines,typical Ag based,Cu based,Zn based brazing filler metals,and Sn based solders were designed and successfully applied in major scientific and engineering projects. 展开更多

A high-temperature and high-pressure valve is the key equipment of a wind tunnel system;it controls the generation of high-temperature and high-pressure gas.To reduce the adverse impact of high-temperature and high-pressure gas on the strength of the valve body,a cooling structure is set on the valve seat.This can significantly reduce the temperature of the valve body and valve seat.The effects of its structure on the cooling characteristics and stress of the valve seat are studied,and six main parameters that can completely describe the geometry of the cooling structure are proposed.The central composite design method is used to select sample points,and the multi-objective genetic algorithm(MOGA)method is used for optimal structural design.A modification method according to the main parameters for the valve seat is proposed.The results show that the cooling structure weakens the pressure-bearing capability of the valve seat.Among the six main parameters of the valve seat,the distance from the end face of the lower hole to the Z-axis and the distance from the axis of the lower hole to the origin of the coordinates have the most obvious effects on the average stress of the valve seat.An optimum design value is proposed.This work can provide a reference for the design of high-temperature and high-pressure valves. 展开更多

The security of the seed industry is crucial for ensuring national food security.Currently,developed countries in Europe and America,along with international seed industry giants,have entered the Breeding 4.0 era.This era integrates biotechnology,artificial intelligence(AI),and big data information technology.In contrast,China is still in a transition period between stages 2.0 and 3.0,which primarily relies on conventional selection and molecular breeding.In the context of increasingly complex international situations,accurately identifying core issues in China's seed industry innovation and seizing the frontier of international seed technology are strategically important.These efforts are essential for ensuring food security and revitalizing the seed industry.This paper systematically analyzes the characteristics of crop breeding data from artificial selection to intelligent design breeding.It explores the applications and development trends of AI and big data in modern crop breeding from several key perspectives.These include highthroughput phenotype acquisition and analysis,multiomics big data database and management system construction,AI-based multiomics integrated analysis,and the development of intelligent breeding software tools based on biological big data and AI technology.Based on an in-depth analysis of the current status and challenges of China's seed industry technology development,we propose strategic goals and key tasks for China's new generation of AI and big data-driven intelligent design breeding.These suggestions aim to accelerate the development of an intelligent-driven crop breeding engineering system that features large-scale gene mining,efficient gene manipulation,engineered variety design,and systematized biobreeding.This study provides a theoretical basis and practical guidance for the development of China's seed industry technology. 展开更多

The design of casting gating system directly determines the solidification sequence,defect severity,and overall quality of the casting.A novel machine learning strategy was developed to design the counter pressure casting gating system of a large thin-walled cabin casting.A high-quality dataset was established through orthogonal experiments combined with design criteria for the gating system.Spearman’s correlation analysis was used to select high-quality features.The gating system dimensions were predicted using a gated recurrent unit(GRU)recurrent neural network and an elastic network model.Using EasyCast and ProCAST casting software,a comparative analysis of the flow field,temperature field,and solidification field can be conducted to demonstrate the achievement of steady filling and top-down sequential solidification.Compared to the empirical formula method,this method eliminates trial-and-error iterations,reduces porosity,reduces casting defect volume from 11.23 cubic centimeters to 2.23 cubic centimeters,eliminates internal casting defects through the incorporation of an internally cooled iron,fulfilling the goal of intelligent gating system design. 展开更多

The big-tapered profiled ring disk is a key component of engines for rockets and missiles.A new forming technology,as called spinning-rolling process,has been proposed previously for the high performance,high efficiency and low-cost manufacturing of the component.Blank design is the key part of plastic forming process design.For spinning-rolling process,the shape and size of the blank play a crucial role in process stability,deformation behavior and dimensional accuracy.So this work proposes a blank design method to determine the geometry structure and sizes of the blank.The mathematical model for calculating the blank size has been deduced based on volume conservation and neutral layer length invariance principle.The FE simulation and corresponding trial production of an actual big-tapered profiled ring disk show that the proposed blank design method is applicative.In order to obtain a preferred blank,the influence rules of blank size determined by different deformation degrees(rolling ratio k)on the spinning-rolling process are revealed by comprehensive FE simulations.Overall considering the process stability,circularity of the deformed ring disk and forming forces,a reasonable range of deformation degree(rolling ratio k)is recommended for the blank design of the new spinning-rolling process. 展开更多

As the mining industry continues to expand and international oil prices increase,more rigorous demands are being placed on the design of mining equipment.Given this,there is an urgent need to develop new power-driven mining equipment to solve the problems of high energy consumption and insufficient power coupling of current equipment.This study proposed a design of a hybrid power system for underground Load Haul Dump(LHD).The proposed design integrated Quality Function Deployment(QFD)and Theory of Inventive Problem Solving(TRIZ).It identified 7 user requirements and 10 related technical features,formulated 11 innovative design solutions,and ultimately adopting an electric drive hybrid power scheme.This scheme effectively addressesd power transmission coupling problems and improve the efficiency of loaders.A 6 m³hybrid power loader prototype has been developed,which reduces operational energy consumption and advances the electrification and green,low-carbon evolution of mining equipment. 展开更多

Neuroscience (also known as neurobiology) is a science that studies the structure, function, development, pharmacology and pathology of the nervous system. In recent years, C. Cotardo has introduced coding theory into neuroscience, proposing the concept of combinatorial neural codes. And it was further studied in depth using algebraic methods by C. Curto. In this paper, we construct a class of combinatorial neural codes with special properties based on classical combinatorial structures such as orthogonal Latin rectangle, disjoint Steiner systems, groupable designs and transversal designs. These neural codes have significant weight distribution properties and large minimum distances, and are thus valuable for potential applications in information representation and neuroscience. This study provides new ideas for the construction method and property analysis of combinatorial neural codes, and enriches the study of algebraic coding theory. 展开更多

Chaoshan drawnwork handkerchief design exhibits self-similarity and fractal characteristics due to their grid-based structure,overall symmetry,and the way local motifs reflect the whole pattern.To explore the potential of fractals in traditional textile design,a fractal-based generative framework was proposed for efficiently creating drawnwork patterns suitable for practical handicraft production.The research was initiated with an analysis of the structural composition of center,skeleton,and filler motifs extracted from a pattern sample library.Based on this hierarchical classification,the box-counting method was employed to calculate their respective fractal dimensions.Building on fractal art theory,generative algorithms,and studies on the application of Ultra Fractal,a Chaoshan drawnwork fractal design model was established.Using this model,51 drawnwork fractal patterns and 153 handkerchief patterns were generated.These patterns were subsequently applied in real-world production to validate the feasibility and value of fractal techniques in textile design. 展开更多

As new-generation intelligent technologies rapidly evolve,enhancing artificial intelligence(AI)education has become a global consensus,and improving AI literacy is a key focus in higher education.To address the lack of relevant knowledge among non-computer science students,the complexity of the material,which leads to low interest and high difficulty in learning,this paper proposes a three-pronged teaching design model:“BOPPPS model+large language models(LLMs)+mind maps with 3w2h”.This model aims to assist teachers in designing practical teaching cases and engaging,interactive activities,and provides examples of its application to help teachers better teach AI and improve the AI literacy of non-computer science students. 展开更多

An optimal design of the liquid-cooling plate channel in a power battery based on response surface methodology

The work takes a new liquid-cooling plate in a power battery with pin fins inside the channel as the object.A mathematical model is established via the central composite design of the response surface to study the relationships among the length,width,height,and spacing of pin fins;the maximum temperature and temperature difference of the battery module;and the pressure drop of the liquid-cooling plate.Model accuracy is verified via variance analysis.The new liquid-cooling plate enables the power battery to work within an optimal temperature range.Appropriately increasing the length,width,and height and reducing the spacing of pin fins could reduce the temperature of the power battery module and improve the temperature uniformity.However,the pressure drop of the liquid-cooling plate increases.The structural parameters of the pin fins are optimized to minimize the maximum temperature and the temperature difference of the battery module as well as the pressure drop of the liquid-cooling plate.The errors between the values predicted and actual by the simulation test are 0.58%,4%,and 0.48%,respectively,which further verifies the model accuracy.The results reveal the influence of the structural parameters of the pin fins inside the liquid-cooling plate on its heat dissipation performance and pressure drop characteristics.A theoretical basis is provided for the design of liquid-cooling plates in power batteries and the optimization of structural parameters. 展开更多
