Background:The I Ching,or the Book of Changes,in the Han Dynasty was mainly based on symbolism and mathematics and was combined with the astronomical calendar that was popular at the time,forming a theory of hexagram ...Background:The I Ching,or the Book of Changes,in the Han Dynasty was mainly based on symbolism and mathematics and was combined with the astronomical calendar that was popular at the time,forming a theory of hexagram Qi(the life force or vital energy,Qi is the dialectical unity of the spirit and matter of the human body and nature)as the main focus.The people of the Han Dynasty believed that the development and changes in cosmic and human society were consistent with the changes in the hexagrams.Therefore,exploring the construction of the theoretical system of medical epistemology by the philosophy of the I Ching will help to inherit better and develop TCM today.Methods:This paper mainly uses the analysis method of literature review,including famous ancient books on TCM from the Han Dynasties to the Song,Yuan,Ming,and Qing Dynasties and the cosmological concept of Yin-Yang,the Five Elements,and the unity of man and nature in Chinese philosophy.Results:This article provides a new explanation of the theory of I Ching in the Han Dynasty on the thinking mode of the epistemology of TCM from three aspects:(1)The“unchangeable”theoretical basis of image-numerical thinking;(2)The“simple”way of life with one Yin and one Yang;and(3)The“cosmology”view of the evolution of life.Conclusion:This shows that TCM,at its inception in the Han Dynasty,consciously used a rational thinking attitude to construct a harmonious and unified cosmic view of life in which heaven,earth,and man are of the same origin and holographic structure.This philosophy of life is that humanity is the comprehensive embodiment and development of the Way of Heaven.It is also the field where TCM,as an original life science,makes fundamental contributions to human health today.However,the specific historical limitations,such as the Han Dynasty’s reliance on cosmological analogies,may lack empirical rigor compared to modern scientific standards.Also,TCM’s subjective interpretations can limit precision.Therefore,integrating TCM’s unique wisdom with modern science methodologies can advance its global relevance in the future.展开更多
An efficient, sensitive, accurate and rapid analytical ultra-fast liquid chromatography (UFLC) method for quality evaluations ofPyrrosia petiolosa (Christ) Ching from 20 regions of China was developed in this stud...An efficient, sensitive, accurate and rapid analytical ultra-fast liquid chromatography (UFLC) method for quality evaluations ofPyrrosia petiolosa (Christ) Ching from 20 regions of China was developed in this study. Ten marker compounds were simultaneously quantified, including 5-caffeoylquinic acid (5-CQA), 3-caffeoylquinic acid (3-CQA), 4-caffeoylquinic acid (4-CQA), 1-caffeoylquinic acid (1-CQA), 3,5-dicaffeoylquinic acid (3,5-diCQA), 4,5-dicaffeoylquinic acid (4,5-diCQA), 3,4-dicaffeoylquinic acid (3,4-diCQA), astragalin, kaempferol-3,7-di-O-glucoside and (±)eriodictyol-7-O-β-D-glucuronide. Chromatography was performed on a Kromasil 100-2.5C18 (100 mm×2.1 mm, 2.5 μm) C18 column with gradient elution. The mobile phases consisted of 0.1% formic acid/water (A) and 0.1% formic acid/methanol (B). The detection wavelength was set at 326 nm and the flow rate was 0.4 mL/min. Ten components were separated well with good linearity (r2〉0.9998), precision, repeatability, stability. The recovery was in the range of 99.08%-102.77%. The results showed that the content determination using RP-UFLC-DAD fingerprint technique provides an efficient, sensitive, accurate and rapid analytical method for quality assessment ofP. petiolosa (Christ) Ching. Cluster analysis and principal components analysis were successfully applied to analyze 20 samples, the results revealed that the method was efficient and authentic to distinguish producing areas and the source of P. petiolosa (Christ) Ching. Yang Hui was one of the most important authors of mathematical works during the thirteenth century.Mathematical Methods Explaining in Detail The Nine Chapters(Xiangjie jiuzhang suanfa詳解九章算法,1261 CE)is the earlie...Yang Hui was one of the most important authors of mathematical works during the thirteenth century.Mathematical Methods Explaining in Detail The Nine Chapters(Xiangjie jiuzhang suanfa詳解九章算法,1261 CE)is the earliest extant work attributed to Yang Hui.From the thirteenth to the fifteenth century,this work played a crucial role in the circulation and popularization of The Nine Chapters on Mathematical Procedures(Jiuzhang suanshu九章算术).However,the only surviving printed edition of Mathematical Methods is incomplete and contains many mistakes obstructing contemporary researchers'understanding of this work.The "Fangcheng" chapter of The Nine Chapters deals with problems related to solving what today are known as simultaneous sets of linear equations.However,interpreting the text in this chapter of Mathematical Methods and recovering the mathematical practices relating to fangcheng are difficult.Through detailed textual and mathematical analyses,the author of this paper explains Yang Hufs understanding and practice relating to〃the fangcheng method"and"the method of the positive and the negative".This paper includes an appendix that provides a detailed translation of the ambiguous text relating to"the method of the positive and the negative"and gives reasons supporting the interpretation provided here.Yang Hufs understanding of the concepts of"positive"and"negative"and his practice relating to these two concepts may easily be confused with their apparent counterparts in modem mathematics.Also,careful analysis of the mathematical methods in this work reveal that the order of problems in Yang Hufs Reclassifications of Mathematical Methods Explaining in Detail The Nine Chapters([Xiangjie jiuzhang suanfa zuanlei詳解九章算法纂類],namely,the last section of Mathematical Methods)were rearranged according to commentaries to specific methods that appear in Mathematical Methods.Some textual clues referring to the zzprevious question"(qianwen前問)in certain commentaries of Mathematical Methods indeed reflect the order of problems in Reclassifications.Yang Hui made especially detailed commentaries on the problems that he arranged in a sequence that differs with respect to the original order of problems as they appear in the ancient classic work,The Nine Chapters.All these discoveries reveal and serve to prove a close relationship between Yang Hufs Mathematical Methods and his Reclassifications.展开更多
Motivated by recent advances made in the study of dividend control and risk management problems involving the U.S.bankruptcy code,in this paper we follow[44]to revisit the De Finetti dividend control problem under the...Motivated by recent advances made in the study of dividend control and risk management problems involving the U.S.bankruptcy code,in this paper we follow[44]to revisit the De Finetti dividend control problem under the reorganization process and the regulator's intervention documented in U.S.Chapter 11 bankruptcy.We do this by further accommodating the fixed transaction costs on dividends to imitate the real-world procedure of dividend payments.Incorporating the fixed transaction costs transforms the targeting optimal dividend problem into an impulse control problem rather than a singular control problem,and hence computations and proofs that are distinct from[44]are needed.To account for the financial stress that is due to the more subtle concept of Chapter 11 bankruptcy,the surplus process after dividends is driven by a piece-wise spectrally negative Lévy process with endogenous regime switching.Some explicit expressions of the expected net present values under a double barrier dividend strategy,new to the literature,are established in terms of scale functions.With the help of these expressions,we are able to characterize the optimal strategy among the set of admissible double barrier dividend strategies.When the tail of the Lévy measure is log-convex,this optimal double barrier dividend strategy is then verified as the optimal dividend strategy,solving our optimal impulse control problem.展开更多

文摘Yang Hui was one of the most important authors of mathematical works during the thirteenth century.Mathematical Methods Explaining in Detail The Nine Chapters(Xiangjie jiuzhang suanfa詳解九章算法,1261 CE)is the earliest extant work attributed to Yang Hui.From the thirteenth to the fifteenth century,this work played a crucial role in the circulation and popularization of The Nine Chapters on Mathematical Procedures(Jiuzhang suanshu九章算术).However,the only surviving printed edition of Mathematical Methods is incomplete and contains many mistakes obstructing contemporary researchers'understanding of this work.The "Fangcheng" chapter of The Nine Chapters deals with problems related to solving what today are known as simultaneous sets of linear equations.However,interpreting the text in this chapter of Mathematical Methods and recovering the mathematical practices relating to fangcheng are difficult.Through detailed textual and mathematical analyses,the author of this paper explains Yang Hufs understanding and practice relating to〃the fangcheng method"and"the method of the positive and the negative".This paper includes an appendix that provides a detailed translation of the ambiguous text relating to"the method of the positive and the negative"and gives reasons supporting the interpretation provided here.Yang Hufs understanding of the concepts of"positive"and"negative"and his practice relating to these two concepts may easily be confused with their apparent counterparts in modem mathematics.Also,careful analysis of the mathematical methods in this work reveal that the order of problems in Yang Hufs Reclassifications of Mathematical Methods Explaining in Detail The Nine Chapters([Xiangjie jiuzhang suanfa zuanlei詳解九章算法纂類],namely,the last section of Mathematical Methods)were rearranged according to commentaries to specific methods that appear in Mathematical Methods.Some textual clues referring to the zzprevious question"(qianwen前問)in certain commentaries of Mathematical Methods indeed reflect the order of problems in Reclassifications.Yang Hui made especially detailed commentaries on the problems that he arranged in a sequence that differs with respect to the original order of problems as they appear in the ancient classic work,The Nine Chapters.All these discoveries reveal and serve to prove a close relationship between Yang Hufs Mathematical Methods and his Reclassifications.

文摘Motivated by recent advances made in the study of dividend control and risk management problems involving the U.S.bankruptcy code,in this paper we follow[44]to revisit the De Finetti dividend control problem under the reorganization process and the regulator's intervention documented in U.S.Chapter 11 bankruptcy.We do this by further accommodating the fixed transaction costs on dividends to imitate the real-world procedure of dividend payments.Incorporating the fixed transaction costs transforms the targeting optimal dividend problem into an impulse control problem rather than a singular control problem,and hence computations and proofs that are distinct from[44]are needed.To account for the financial stress that is due to the more subtle concept of Chapter 11 bankruptcy,the surplus process after dividends is driven by a piece-wise spectrally negative Lévy process with endogenous regime switching.Some explicit expressions of the expected net present values under a double barrier dividend strategy,new to the literature,are established in terms of scale functions.With the help of these expressions,we are able to characterize the optimal strategy among the set of admissible double barrier dividend strategies.When the tail of the Lévy measure is log-convex,this optimal double barrier dividend strategy is then verified as the optimal dividend strategy,solving our optimal impulse control problem.
文摘Tao Te Ching is chosen as the object of this study due to its everlasting charm and profound thoughts within 5000 characters.The thesis chooses versions translated by Arthur Waley(1889~1966),James Legge(1815~1897),Lin Yutang(1895~1976) and Gu Zheng kun(1951~) as the study cases on the account of their different cultural background and historical context,and also of their respective pur poses and interpretations.The translation products of these four translators are selected to analyze the subjectivity played by each of them and to explore to which extent the style and characteristics of the translators could influence the translation versions.
