The Yuncheng Basin,located in the southern part of the Fenwei Rift,North China,exhibits obvious crust thinning(Moho uplift of 6-8 km)and shallow Curie point depth(less than 18 km)and hence holds great potential for ge...The Yuncheng Basin,located in the southern part of the Fenwei Rift,North China,exhibits obvious crust thinning(Moho uplift of 6-8 km)and shallow Curie point depth(less than 18 km)and hence holds great potential for geothermal resources.However,geothermal exploration within the Yuncheng Basin typically faces significant challenges due to civil and industrial noise from dense populations and industrial activities.To address these challenges,both Controlled-Source Audio-frequency Magnetotellurics(CSAMT)and radon measurements were employed in Baozigou village to investigate the geothermal structures and identify potential geothermal targets.The CSAMT method effectively delineated the structure of the subsurface hydrothermal system,identifying the reservoir as Paleogene sandstones and Ordovician and Cambrian limestones at elevations ranging from−800 m to−2500 m.In particular,two concealed normal faults(F_(a)and F_(b))were newly revealed by the combination of CSAMT and radon profiling;these previously undetected faults,which exhibit different scales and opposing dips,are likely to be responsible for controlling the convection of thermal water within the Basin’s subsurface hydrothermal system.Moreover,this study developed a preliminary conceptual geothermal model for the Fen River Depression within the Yuncheng Basin,which encompasses geothermal heat sources,cap rocks,reservoirs,and fluid pathways,providing valuable insights for future geothermal exploration.In conjunction with the 3D geological model constructed from CSAMT resistivity structures beneath Baozigou village,test drilling is recommended in the northwestern region of the Baozigou area to intersect the potentially deep fractured carbonates that may contain temperature-elevated geothermal water.This study establishes a good set of guidelines for future geothermal exploration in this region,indicating that high-permeability faults in the central segments of the Fen River Depression are promising targets.展开更多
In recent years,with the increasing attention to issues related to carbon emissions,such as carbon tariffs and government netzero carbon emission policies,carbon emissions have become an important indicator that is be...In recent years,with the increasing attention to issues related to carbon emissions,such as carbon tariffs and government netzero carbon emission policies,carbon emissions have become an important indicator that is being prioritized by governments worldwide.The Google Environmental Insights Explorer(EIE)tool has been developed to facilitate the collection and integration of data in this context.This study focuses on Tainan City and utilizes EIE to analyze greenhouse gas emissions from transportation.By using EIE,the study obtains data on greenhouse gas emissions from transportation activities in Tainan City.EIE utilizes data collected by Google and simulation functions to estimate data based on actual measurements of transportation activities.This tool saves time and resources by eliminating the need for on-site investigations while providing data that closely represent the real emissions from transportation activities in urban areas.Transportation vehicles contribute to greenhouse gas emissions in two ways:through direct combustion of fossil fuels and through the consumption of electricity in electric vehicles(EVs).The level of greenhouse gas emissions in a city’s transportation industry depends on factors such as transportation modes,fuel types,fleet age and energy efficiency,total distance traveled,and annual mileage.EIE estimates the greenhouse gas emissions from Tainan City’s transportation industry in 2022 to be 3,320,000 metric tons,including emissions from buses,motorcycles,cars,walking,railways,bicycles,and other modes of transportation.展开更多

Objective:EPF3 is a fibrinolysin monomer isolated and purified from Pheretima vulgaris Chen,an earthworm used in traditional Chinese medicine as Dilong for treating blood stasis syndrome.Its composition,anticoagulant ...Objective:EPF3 is a fibrinolysin monomer isolated and purified from Pheretima vulgaris Chen,an earthworm used in traditional Chinese medicine as Dilong for treating blood stasis syndrome.Its composition,anticoagulant and fibrinolytic activities,and relevant mechanisms have been confirmed through in vitro experiments.However,whether it has antithrombotic effects in vivo and can be absorbed by the gastrointestinal tract is unknown.This study evaluates the antithrombotic effect in zebrafish and investigates the gastrointestinal stability and intestinal absorption mechanism of this protein in vitro.Methods:The antithrombotic effect of EPF3 in vivo was verified using the zebrafish thrombus model induced by arachidonic acid and FeCl3.Then,the protein bands of EPF3 incubated with simulated gastric fluid(SGF),simulated intestinal fluid(SIF),and homogenate of Caco-2 cells(HC2C)were analyzed by sodium dodecyl sulfate–polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis to evaluate its gastrointestinal stability.Finally,the transport behavior and absorption mechanism of EPF3 were studied using Caco-2 cell monolayer.Results:EPF3 could significantly enhance the returned blood volume and blood flow velocity in zebrafish with platelet aggregation thrombus induced by arachidonic acid.It could also prolong the formation time of tail artery thrombus and increase the blood flow velocity in zebrafish with vessel injury thrombus induced by FeCl3.EPF3 was stable in SIF and HC2C and unstable in SGF.The permeability of EPF3 in Caco-2 monolayer was time-dependent and concentration-dependent.The efflux ratio was less than1.2 during transport,and the transport behavior was not affected by inhibitors.EPF3 could reversibly reduce the expression of tight junction-related proteins,including zonula occludens-1,occludin,and claudin-1 in Caco-2 cells.Conclusion:EPF3 could play a thrombolytic and antithrombotic role in zebrafish.It could be transported and absorbed into the intestine through cellular bypass pathway by opening the intestinal epithelium tight junction.This study provides a scientific explanation for the antithrombotic effect of earthworm and provides a basis for the feasibility of subsequent development of EPF3 as an antithrombotic enteric-soluble preparation.Please cite this article as:Zhong WL,Yang JQ,Liu H,Wu YL,Shen HJ,Li PY,Du SY.Antithrombotic effect in zebrafish of a fibrinolytic protein EPF3 from Dilong(Pheretima vulgaris Chen)and its transport mechanism in Caco-2 monolayer through cell bypass pathway.J Integr Med.2025;23(4):415–428.展开更多
BACKGROUND Gastric cancer is a growing clinical challenge,particularly due to the increased risk of postoperative gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD)following surgical treatment.traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),inc...BACKGROUND Gastric cancer is a growing clinical challenge,particularly due to the increased risk of postoperative gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD)following surgical treatment.traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),including acupuncture and herbal medicine,has been proposed as an adjunctive therapy to promote gastrointestinal recovery and alleviate GERD symptoms.AIM To retrospectively study the clinical efficacy of modified Lou Bei Er Chen decoction combined with acupuncture in treating patients with GERD after radical gastrectomy due to gastric cancer.METHODS A retrospective study was conducted,including patients with gastric cancer or malignant tumors of the stomach from January 2019 to December 2023 in the Affiliated Taizhou People’s Hospital of Nanjing Medical University.Patients with a TCM diagnosis of qi depression and phlegm obstruction(n=128)were selected on the basis of prescription and treatment principles.They were then divided into a control group(n=61)and an observation group(n=67).The control group received treatment with Western medicine domperidone.The observation group were treated with Lou Bei Er Chen decoction orally,with acupuncture at specific RESULTS The observation group showed significantly shorter times for first flatus,defecation,bowel sound recovery,and initiation of nasogastric enteral nutrition than the control group(P<0.05).Upon treatment,the two groups demonstrated a significant reduction in gastrointestinal dysfunction scores,with a more significant reduction in the observation group(P<0.001).The GERD-Q scores significantly decreased after 8 weeks of treatment in the two groups(P<0.05),with a significant reduction in the observation group(P<0.05),compared with baseline.The TCM syndrome scores significantly decreased after 4 and 8 weeks of treatment in the two groups(P<0.05),with a significant reduction in the observation group(P<0.05).The effective rate of the observation group after 8 weeks of treatment was significantly higher than that after 4 weeks(χ2=13.648,P=0.003),and it was significantly higher than that of control group(χ2=13.879,P=0.003).CONCLUSION Lou Bei Er Chen decoction combined with acupuncture treatment can effectively alleviate clinical symptoms in patients GERD after gastric cancer surgery and improve their life quality.It is worthy of further promotion and application.展开更多

The well deployment in the Ordovician Yingshan Formation in the Gucheng area of the Tarim Basin mainly focuses on the inner gentle slope in the western part of the study area,which results in a low drilling success ra...The well deployment in the Ordovician Yingshan Formation in the Gucheng area of the Tarim Basin mainly focuses on the inner gentle slope in the western part of the study area,which results in a low drilling success rate.To address this issue,this study focused on reconstructing sedimentary models and the adjustment strategies for oil and gas exploration.The carbonate sedimentary model of the Yingshan Formation was re-evaluated using the data of seismic interpretation,core observations,thin-section analyses,carbon isotopic composition,well logging,detrital zircon U-Pb dating,and carbonate mineral U-Pb dating.Then,the favorable sedimentary facies belts were delineated,and updated prospective exploration targets were proposed.The results demonstrate that the sedimentary model of the Yingshan Formation in the Gucheng area is characterized as a rimmed platform system,exhibiting an orderly west-to-east sedimentary sequence transition from restricted/open platform environments through the platform margin and slope settings,ultimately grading into basinal deposits.The platform margin,distinguished by thick successions of grain shoals overlain by interlayered karst zones,is the most favorable distribution area for large-scale reservoirs.Guided by this revised sedimentary model,Well Gutan-1 was successfully drilled within the outer platform margin,encountering over 90%high-energy grain shoal facies with well-developed porous and fractured-vuggy reservoirs,and achieving industrial oil and gas flow.It is confirmed that the platform margin is the priority area for oil and gas exploration in the Ordovician System of the Gucheng area,thereby effectively ending the prolonged exploration stagnation in the Yingshan Formation of the Gucheng area.展开更多
