The semicylindrical time projection chamber(scTPC)is designed to measure the angular distribution of the cross section for intermediate-energy(3He,t)charge-exchange reactions in inverse kinematics.The scTPC prototype comprises a cathode,field cage,drift region,amplification structure based on a multilayer thick gas electron multiplier(THGEM),and a readout plane with 886 zigzag-shaped pads.The gain uniformity of the THGEM and the drift velocity of electrons were calibrated.Track recognition based on the Hough transform was then developed to reconstruct cosmic ray tracks and determine their position resolution.The position resolution of secondary particle tracks resulting from collisions between the heavy-ion beam and the 3He target was measured,yielding an x-resolution of 0.71 mm and a z-resolution of 0.73 mm.The scTPC demonstrates sufficient energy and spatial resolution to support charge-exchange reaction experiments in inverse kinematics. 展开更多

A perpendicular neutral particle analyzer (NPA) is used on HT-7 tokamak experiment to provide the measurements of neutral particle flux and ion temperature. The measured results were compared with calculated data by Monte-carlo method for ohmic heating. In lower hybrid current drive (LHCD) experiments, the ion heating of LHCD was identified. The chargeexchange neutral particle flux enhanced was observed. The energy spectrum clearly showed a high-energy ions tail. The bulk ion temperature increased by 0.4-0.5 keV after the onset of LHCD. Efficient ion heating of 1 eV. kW-1 was obtained. 展开更多

We have carried out β decay studies of proton rich nuclei in the fp shell at different laboratories.Here we present our recent results on the β decay of Tz =-2 nuclei performed at GANIL and compare them with the Charge Exchange reactions on their stable, mirror-partner targets, performed at RCNP.In one of the cases, the ^(56)Zn-^(56)Fe pair, a strong isospin mixing has been observed. The results are well reproduced in the framework of Shell Model calculations. 展开更多

The code is based on ... Ion optics is a critical component of ion thrusters. A two-dimensional axisymmetric model is developed to study the characteristics of three-grid electron cyclotron resonance ion thruster optics. The code is based on a particle-in-cell combined with the Monte Carlo collision method to simulate ion dynamics and charge-exchange processes in the grid region. The simulation results show that the mode can give a reasonable estimate of the physics characteristics of the ion optics. The design of the ion optics satisfies the requirement of preventing electron backstreaming. Charge-exchange ions can cause damage to the grids, especially to the accelerator grid. 'Barrel' erosion can increase the accelerator grid aperture radius at a rate of 1.91~ 10-11 m/s, while the decelerator grid plays an important role in reducing 'pits-and-grooves' erosion. 展开更多
