The changes in customer trends whic h focusing more on product or service customising, high quality and short delive ry times are additional crucial factors that organisation should be aware of. T hese factors have direct relations on how the management could utilise the capab ility of its supply chain management (SCM). The importance of SCM in organisati on specifically to manufacturer is to play a vital role in managing the flow of material and information along the chain from suppliers to customers. Ecotourism is one kind of tourism industry that also consists of complex service providers like travel agents, hotels, transportations (such as airplane, bus, and ship) restaurants, and destinations, connecting with operational diversity; therefore, those of supported services are linked with a supply chain together, and its management is called ecotourism service supply chain management (ESSCM). Moreover, a low-carbon operation management has also become an important challenge to ecotourism nowadays. Based on the problems of service and low-carbon operation management made together above, exploring an effective solution into ecotourism is worthy. Using ESSCM as a strategy for solving industrial problems of service and low-carbon operations management in ecotourism is explored in this paper. The contributions here include clearly explanations of what ESSCM is and how ESSCM is used with low-carbon operations as a sustainability strategy, and finally a practical case study is also examined in the end.展开更多

But with life cycle becoming shorter, costing should be done at the design and development stage of a product. This is achieved through target costing. The implementation of target costing and target pricing is done with the ultimate purpose of cost reduction, cost understanding, continuous improvement, competitiveness, early purchasing and supplier involvement, and improved design and accountability by manufacturers. The study explores the participation of the purchasing and supply chain management's role in target costing and target pricing process. Supply management plays an active role in monitoring the ongoing cost and performance of suppliers during the early stages of product development. Implementation of target costing and target pricing in various organizations are also explored. Leading Japanese manufacturers have used target costing and target pricing systems to their advantage and the paper also examines the adaptation of the Western companies to these proactive cost management techniques to improve their product development processes.展开更多

The empirical study is based on case studies of 20 small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with international activities from China, India, New Zealand, and Singapore. All chosen firms were founded after 1980 in order to capture retrospectively the whole globalization process of each firm. All sample firms operate their supply chains (SCs) on the basis of information and communications technology (ICT). Depending on size, strategy, business model, industry, and mindset of the managers, firms use ICT on a range from integrating individual functional areas to integrating the whole SC through enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.展开更多

文摘Standard costing is used as a control for product costing. 文摘The focus of the article is on the contribution of the perspective of supply chain management (SCM) to the explanation of internationalization processes. Depending on size, strategy, business model, industry, and mindset of the managers, firms use ICT on a range from integrating individual functional areas to integrating the whole SC through enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
