Background:Chaihu Guizhi Decoction(CGD)is a classical prescription in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)that has been shown to be effective against infection and depression.However,the mechanisms of action of CGD in treating patients with depression who are also infected with a virus remain unknown.This study investigated the pharmacological mechanisms of CGD in treating depression-like mice infected with influenza A virus(IAV).Methods:The acute depression-like mouse model infected with IAV was established.The effects of CGD on alleviating depression-like symptoms were observed using the sucrose preference test and monoamine neurotransmitter expression.Additionally,the effectiveness of CGD against infection was assessed by examining the relative expression of the M gene and pathological changes.To evaluate the anti-inflammatory effects of CGD,the levels of cytokines were measured,and the Th17/Treg ratio was analyzed to evaluate the immunomodulatory effects of CGD.Results:The study results show that CGD enhanced the rates of sucrose preference and raised the contents of neurotransmitters dopamine(DA)and norepinephrine(NE).CGD treatment led to a reduction in lung index and the relative expression of the M gene,along with improvements in pathological changes caused by IAV.Furthermore,the levels of cytokines were decreased after treatment with CGD,and the imbalance in the ratio of Th17/Treg was corrected via a reduction in the number of Th17 cells after treatment.Conclusions:CGD has a therapeutic effect in mice with depression-like symptoms infected with IAV,increasing the levels of DA and NE,downregulating M gene expression,calming the cytokine storm,and preserving the homeostasis of Th17/Treg cells. 展开更多

Objective:To evaluate the use of infrared thermography technology for objective and quantitative syndrome differentiation and treatment in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),specifically in patients with Chaihu Guizhi Ganjiang Decoction syndrome.Methods:Data were collected from over 100 patients diagnosed with Chaihu Guizhi Ganjiang Decoction syndrome at Professor Li Leyu’s endocrinology clinic,Zhongshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Guangdong Province,between April 2021 and April 2022.Body surface temperature data were obtained using the MTI-EXPRO-2013-B infrared thermography system.Principal component analysis(PCA)was applied to differentiate temperature distribution characteristics between genders,and a neural network prediction model was constructed for syndrome diagnosis.Results:Infrared thermography effectively captured surface temperature characteristics of patients with Chaihu Guizhi Ganjiang Decoction syndrome.PCA identified one principal component with a variance explanation rate of 73.953%for females and two principal components with a cumulative variance explanation rate of 77.627%for males.The neural network model demonstrated high predictive performance,with an area under the ROC curve of 0.9743 for the training set and 0.9889 for the validation set.Sensitivity was 1,specificity 0.8636,precision 0.8846,accuracy 0.9333,and the F1 score 0.9388.Conclusion:Infrared thermography provides an innovative,objective,and quantitative method for syndrome differentiation and treatment in TCM.It represents a significant advancement in transitioning from traditional empirical approaches to modern,visualized,and precise diagnosis and treatment.This study underscores the potential of integrating advanced technologies in TCM for enhanced clinical application and modernization. 展开更多

Effect of Chaihu Guizhi Ganjiang Decoction on the Therapeutic Effect and Blood Lipid Level in Patients with Hyperlipidemia

Objective: to investigate the effect of Chaihu Guizhi Ganjiang Decoction on blood glucose and blood lipid in obese patients. Methods: 50 patients with hyperlipidemia and obesity were randomly divided into two groups, 25 in each group, as the observation group and 25 in the control group. The control group was treated with Xuezhikang and other drugs to observe its efficacy. The control group was treated with Chaihu Guizhi Ganjiang Decoction on the basis of the control group. Results: the total effective rate, blood glucose, blood lipid and obesity indexes were better than those in the control group. Results: the total effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (0.05), and the contents of fasting blood glucose (FPG), triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC) and low-density lipoprotein (LDL-C) in the observation group were significantly lower (P < 0.05);Conclusion: Chaihu Guizhi Ganjiang Decoction has obvious therapeutic effect on diabetes, hyperlipidemia and obesity, can significantly reduce blood lipid and blood sugar levels, and improve the physical quality of patients. 展开更多

Objective: to evaluate the clinical efficacy of Chaihu Guizhi Longgu Oyster Decoction in menopausal syndrome patients. Methods: the case study was conducted from February 2020 to July 2021. 108 cases of menopausal syndrome patients admitted to our hospital were divided into two groups according to random single-blind method, control group (conventional Western medicine treatment) and observation group (Chaihu Guizhi Longgu Oyster Decoction) 54 cases each, and the therapeutic effects of the two groups were evaluated and analyzed. Results: compared with the total effective rate of the two groups after treatment, it was obvious that the observation group had a higher result, the statistical result P<0.05;The scores of sleep quality in observation group were significantly lower than those in control group, with statistical significance (P<0.05). Compared with before treatment, hormone level was significantly improved after treatment, E 2, LH and FSH indexes in observation group were significantly better than those in control group, P<0.05. Conclusion: Chaihu Guizhi Longgu Oyster Decoction has a significant therapeutic effect in the treatment of menopausal syndrome, which has a positive effect on improving the clinical symptoms and adjusting the sleep state of patients, and is worthy of clinical application. 展开更多
