文摘China is the most important steel producer in the world, and its steel industry is one of themost carbon-intensive industries in China.Consequently, research on carbon emissions from the steel industry is crucial for China to achieve carbon neutrality and meet its sustainable global development goals. We constructed a carbon dioxide(CO_(2))emission model for China’s iron and steel industry froma life cycle perspective, conducted an empirical analysis based on data from2019,and calculated the CO_(2)emissions of the industry throughout its life cycle.Key emission reduction factors were identified using sensitivity analysis. The results demonstrated that the CO_(2)emission intensity of the steel industry was 2.33 ton CO_(2)/ton,and the production and manufacturing stages were the main sources of CO_(2)emissions,accounting for 89.84%of the total steel life-cycle emissions.Notably, fossil fuel combustion had the highest sensitivity to steel CO_(2)emissions,with a sensitivity coefficient of 0.68,reducing the amount of fossil fuel combustion by 20%and carbon emissions by 13.60%.The sensitivities of power structure optimization and scrap consumption were similar, while that of the transportation structure adjustment was the lowest, with a sensitivity coefficient of less than 0.1.Given the current strategic goals of peak carbon and carbon neutrality,it is in the best interest of the Chinese government to actively promote energy-saving and low-carbon technologies, increase the ratio of scrap steel to steelmaking, and build a new power system.
文摘Present industrial decarbonization technologies require an active CO_(2)-concentration system, often based on lime reaction or amine binding reactions, which is energy intensive and carries a high CO_(2)-footprint.Here instead,an effective process without active CO_(2)concentration is demonstrated in a new process-termed IC2CNT(Insulationdiffusion facilitated CO_(2) to Carbon Nanomaterial Technology)decarbonization process.Molten carbonates such as Li_(2)CO_(3)(mp 723℃)are highly insoluble to industrial feed gas principal components(N2,O_(2),and H2O).However,CO_(2) can readily dissolve and react in molten carbonates. We have recently characterized high CO_(2) diffusion rates through porous aluminosilicate and calcium-magnesium silicate thermal insulations. Here, the CO_(2) in ambient feed gas passes through these membranes into molten Li_(2)CO_(3).The membrane also concurrently insulates the feed gas from the hot molten carbonate chamber, obviating the need to heat the(non-CO_(2))majority of the feed gas to high temperature. In this insulation facilitated decarbonization process CO_(2)is split by electrolysis in the molten carbonate producing sequestered,high-purity carbon nanomaterials(such as CNTs)and O_(2).

文摘S and Co co-doped carbon catalysts were prepared via pyrolysis of MOF-71 and thiourea mixtures at 800℃at a mass ratio of MOF-71 to thiourea of 1:0.1 to effectively activate peroxymonosulfate(PMS)for methylene blue(MB)degradation. The effects of two different mixing routes were identified on the MB degradation performance.Particularly, the catalyst obtained by the alcohol solvent evaporation(MOF-AEP)mixing route could degrade 95.60%MB(50 mg/L)within 4 min(degradation rate:K=0.78 min^(-1)),which was faster than that derived from the direct grinding method(MOF-DGP,80.97%,K=0.39 min^(-1)).X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy revealed that the Co-S content of MOF-AEP(43.39at%)was less than that of MOF-DGP(54.73at%),and the proportion of C-S-C in MOF-AEP(13.56at%)was higher than that of MOF-DGP(10.67at%).Density functional theory calculations revealed that the adsorption energy of Co for PMS was -2.94 eV when sulfur was doped as C-S-C on the carbon skeleton, which was higher than that when sulfur was doped next to cobalt in the form of Co-S bond(-2.86 eV).Thus, the C-S-C sites might provide more contributions to activate PMS compared with Co-S.Furthermore,the degradation parameters, including pH and MOF-AEP dosage, were investigated. Finally, radical quenching experiments and electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)measurements revealed that ^(1)O_(2)might be the primary catalytic species,whereas·O~(2-)might be the secondary one in degrading MB.
文摘Pitch produced by the lique-faction of coal was divided into two frac-tions:soluble in toluene(TS)and insol-uble in toluene but soluble in pyridine(TI-PS),and their differences in molecu-lar structure and oxidation activity were studied.Several different carbon materi-als were produced from them by oxida-tion in air(350℃,300 mL/min)fol-lowed by carbonization(1000℃ in Ar),and the effect of the cross-linked structure on their structure and sodium storage properties was investigated. The results showed that the two pitch fractions were obviously different after the air oxidation. The TS fraction with a low degree of condensation and abundant side chains had a stronger oxidation activity and thus introduced more cross-linked oxygen-containing functional groups C(O)―O which prevented carbon layer rearrangement during the carbonization. As a result,a disordered hard carbon with more defects was formed, which improved the electrochemical performance. Therefore, the carbon materials derived from TS(O-TS-1000)had an obvious disordered structure and a larger layer spacing, giving them better sodium storage perform-ance than those derived from the TI-PS fraction(O-TI-PS-1000).The specific capacity of O-TS-1000 was about 250 mAh/g at 20 mA/g,which was 1.67 times higher than that of O-TI-PS-1000(150 mAh/g).

文摘Pore structure engineering has been acknowledged as suitable approach to creating active sites and en-hancing ion transport capabilities of hard carbon anodes. However, conventional porous carbon materials exhibit high BET and surface defects.Additionally, the sodium storage mechanism predominantly occurs in the slope region. This contradicts practical application requirements because the capacity of the plateau region is crucial for determining the actual capacity of batteries. In our work,we prepared a novel“core-shell”carbon framework(CNA1200).Introducingclosedporesand carboxylgroupsinto coal-basedcarbon materials to enhance its sodium storage performance. The closed pore structure dominates in the“core”structure, which is attributed to the timely removal of sodium hydroxide(NaOH)to prevent further for-mation of active carbon structure. The presence of closed pores is beneficial for increasing sodium ion storage in the low-voltage plateau region. And the“shell”structure originates from coal tar pitch,it not only uniformly connects hard carbon particles together to improve cycling stability, but is also rich in carboxyl groups to enhance the reversible sodium storage performance in slope region.CNA1200 has ex-cellent electrochemical performance,it exhibits a specific capacity of 335.2 mAh g^(−1)at a current density of 20 mA g^(−1)with ICE=51.53%.In addition,CNA1200 has outstanding cycling stability with a capac-ity retention of 91.8%even when cycling over 200 times. When CNA1200 is used as anode paired with Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)cathode,it demonstrates a capacity of 109.54 mAh g^(−1)at 0.1 C and capacity retention of 94.64%at 0.5 C.This work provides valuable methods for regulating the structure of sodium-ion battery(SIBs)anode and enhances the potential for commercialization.

文摘The design of cost-effective and efficient metal-free carbon-based catalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)is of great significance for increasing the production of clean hydrogen by the electrolysis of alkaline water.Precise control of the electronic structure by heteroatom doping has proven to be efficient for increasing catalytic activity.Nevertheless, both the structural characteristics and the underlying mechanism are not well understood, especially for doping with two different atoms, thus limiting the use of these catalysts. We report the production of phosphorus and nitrogen co-doped hollow carbon nanospheres(HCNs)by the copolymerization of pyrrole and aniline at a Triton X-100 micelle-interface,followed by doping with phytic acid and carbonization. The unique pore structure and defect-rich framework of the HCNs expose numerous active sites.Crucially, the combined effect of graphitic nitrogen and phosphorus-carbon bonds modulate the local electronic structure of adjacent C atoms and facilitates electron transfer. As a res-ult,the HCN carbonized at 1100°C exhibited superior HER activity and an outstanding stability(70 h at a current density of 10 mA cm^(−2))in alkaline water, because of the large number of graphitic nitrogen and phosphorus-carbon bonds.
文摘This study explores the potential of Michelia champaca wood as a sustainable and locally available precursor for the fabrication of high-performance supercapacitor electrodes.Activated carbons were synthesized through single-step carbonization at 400℃ and 500℃(SSC-400℃ and SSC-500℃) and double-step carbonization at 400℃(DSC-400℃),with all samples activated using H_(3)PO_(4).The effects of carbonization stratergy on the structural, morphological, and electrochemical characteristics of the resulting carbon materials were systematically evaluated, using techniques such as BET,SEM,TEM,XRD,Raman scattering,FTIR,CV,GCD and EIS.Among the samples,SSC-400℃ exhibited the best electrochemical performance, achieving a specific capacitance of 292.2 Fg^(-1),an energy density of 6.4 Wh kg^(-1),and a power density of 198.4 W kg^(-1).This superior performance is attributed to its optimized pore structure, improved sur-face functionality and enhanced conductivity.SSC-500℃showed marginally lower performance,whereas,DSC-400℃ displayed the least favorable results, indicating that double-step carbonization process may negatively affect material quality by disrupting the pore network. This work highlights a strong correlation between synthesis methodology and electrochemical efficiency, directly reinforcing the importance of process optimization in electrode material develop-ment.The findings contribute to the broader goal of developing cost-effective,renewable and environmentally friendly energy storage systems.By valorizing biomass waste, the study supports global movements toward green energy technologies and circular carbon economies, offering a viable pathway for sustainable supercapacitor development and practical applications in energy storage devices.
文摘This study analyzes the potential impact of EU carbon border regulation mechanism(CBAM)on the export of China’s carbon-intensive products.First,we summarized the main content of the CBAM.Next, based on the input-output theory, this study proposes a calculation model for the implicit carbon emissions and indirect carbon emissions from electricity consumption in export products and presents the corresponding calculation results.Based on the scenario analysis method, six carbon tariffscenarios were designed to evaluate the impact of the CBAM on the major export sectors under each scenario. The results showed that in 2021,the implicit carbon emissions in all products exported to Europe from China were approximately 375 million tons,of which the indirect carbon emissions from electricity were approximately 41.8 million tons, accounting for more than 10%.According to the current levy plan,China is expected to be subject to carbon tariffs of approximately USD 1.4 billion, accounting for 0.3%of its total export value to Europe in 2021.Finally,to reduce the adverse effects of CBAM,four measures were proposed from the perspective of the power industry.

文摘With the rapid economic development and continuous expansion of human activities, forest degradation—characterized by reduced forest stock within the forest including declining carbon storage—poses significant threats to ecosystem stability.Understanding the current status of forest degradation and assessing potential carbon stocks in China are of strategic importance for making forest restoration efforts and enhancing carbon sequestration capacity. In this study,we used the national forest inventory data from 2009 to 2018 to develop a set of standard measures for assessing degraded forests across China, based on five key indicators:forest accumulation growth rate(FAGR),forest recruitment rate(FRR),tree species reduction rate(TSRR),forest canopy cover reduction rate(FCCRR),and forest disaster level(FDL).Additionally,we estimated standing carbon stock, potential carbon stock, and theoretical space to grow by developing a stand growth model, which accounts for stand density across different site classes,to evaluate the restoration potential of degraded forests. The results indicate that degraded forest area in China is 36.15 million hectares, accounting for 20.10% of a total forest area.Standing carbon stock and potential carbon stock of degraded forests in China are 23.93 million tons and 61.90 million tons, respectively.Overall, degraded forest varies significantly across different regions. The results highlight the important trade-offs among environmental factors, policy decisions, and forest conditions, providing a robust foundation for developing measures to enhance forest quality.

文摘Recently, hollow carbon nanospheres(HCSs)have garnered significant attention as potential Li metal hosts owing to their unique large voids and ease of fabrication. However, similar to other nanoscale hosts, their practical performance is limited by inhomogeneous agglomeration, increased binder requirements, and high tortuosity within the electrode. To overcome these problems and high tortuosity within the electrode, this study introduces a pomegranate-like carbon microcluster composed of primary HCSs(P-CMs)as a novel Li metal host. This unique nanostructure can be easily prepared using the spray-drying technique, enabling its mass production.Comprehensive analyses with various tools demonstrate that compared with HCS hosts, the P-CM host requires a smaller amount of binder to fabricate a sufficiently robust and even surface electrode.Furthermore, owing to reduced tortuosity, the well-designed P-CM electrode can provide continuous and shortened pathways for electron/ion transport, accelerating the Li-ion transfer kinetics and prohibiting preferential Li plating at the upper region of the electrode.Due to these characteristics,Li metal can be effectively encapsulated in the large inner voids of the primary HCSs constituting the P-CM,thereby enhancing the electrochemical performance of P-CM hosts in Li metal batteries.Specifically, the Coulombic efficiency of the P-CM host can be maintained at 97%over 100 cycles, with a high Li deposition areal capacity of 3 mAh·cm^(-2)and long cycle life(1000 h,1 mA·cm^(-2),and 1.0 mAh·cm^(-2)).Furthermore,a full cell incorporating a LiFePO4 cathode exhibits excellent cycle life.

文摘In present work, blue carbon dots(b-CDs)were derived from ammonium citrate and guanidine hydrochloride, and red carbon dots(r-CDs)were stemmed from malonate, ethylenediamine and meso-tetra(4-carboxyphenyl)porphin based on facile hydrothermal method.Eco-friendly ratiometric fluorescence probe was innovatively constructed to effectively measure Hg2+utilizing b-CDs and r-CDs.The developed probe displayed two typical emission peaks at 450 nm from b-CDs and 650 nm from r-CDs under the excitation at 360 nm.Mercury ion has strong quenching effect on the fluorescence intensity at 450 nm due to the electron transfer process and the fluorescence change at 450 nm was used as the response signal, whereas the fluorescence intensity at 650 nm kept unchangeable which resulted from the chemical inertness between Hg^(2+)and r-CDs,serving as the reference signal in the sensing system.Under optimal circumstances, this probe exhibited an excellent linearity between the fluorescence response values of F450/F650 and Hg^(2+)concentrations over range of 0.01-10μmol/L,and the limit of detectionwas down to 5.3 nmol/L.Furthermore,this probe was successfully employed for sensing Hg^(2+)in practical environmental water samples with satisfied recoveries of 98.5%-105.0%.The constructed ratiometric fluorescent probe provided a rapid,environmental-friendly,reliable,and efficient platform for measuring trace Hg^(2+)in environmental field.

文摘This study focuses on urgent research on restoring and enhancing carbon storage capacity in the Beibu Gulf Urban Agglomer-ation of China,a key area in the‘Belt and Road’Initiative, which aligns with carbon peaking and neutrality goals. This research ana-lyzes the spatial characteristics of carbon metabolism from 2000 to 2020 and uses models to identify stable carbon sink areas, positive carbon flow corridors, and carbon sequestration nodes. The goal is to construct a carbon metabolism spatial security pattern(CMSSP)and propose territorial ecological restoration strategies under different development demand scenarios. The results show the following:1)in 2020,the study area’s carbon sink decreased by 8.29×10^(4) t C/yr compared with that in 2010 and by 10.83×10^(4) t C/yr compared with that in 2000.High-carbon sinks were found mainly in mountainous areas, whereas low-carbon sinks are concentrated in urban con-struction land, rural residential areas, and land margins.2)From 2000 to 2020,the spatial security pattern of carbon metabolism tended to be‘high in the middle of the east and west and low in the gulf.’In 2000,2010,and 2020,16 stable carbon sinks were identified. The carbon energy flow density in Guangxi was greater than that in Guangdong and Hainan, with positive carbon flow corridors located primarily in Guangxi and Guangdong. The number of carbon sequestration nodes remained stable at approximately 15,mainly in Guangxi and Hainan.3)Scenario simulations revealed that under the Nature-based mild restoration scenario, the carbon sink rate will reach 611.85×10^(4) t C/yr by 2030 and increase to 612.45×10^(4) t C/yr by 2060,with stable carbon sinks increasing to 18.In the restora-tion scenario based on Anti-globalization,the carbon sink will decrease from 610.24×10^(4) t C/yr in 2030 to 605.19×10^(4) t C/yr in 2060,with the disappearance of some positive carbon flow corridors and stable carbon sinks.Under the Human-based sustainable restoration scenario, the carbon sink area will decrease from 607.00×10^(4) t C/yr in 2030 to 596.39×10^(4) t C/yr in 2060,with carbon sink areas frag-menting and positive carbon flow corridors becoming less dense.4)On the basis of the current and predicted CMSSPs,this study ex-plores spatial ecological restoration strategies for high-carbon storage areas in bay urban agglomerations at four levels:the land control region, urban agglomeration structure system, carbon sink structure and bay structure control region.

文摘Long-term mulching has improved crop yields and farmland productivity in semiarid areas, but it has also increased greenhouse gas(GHG)emissions and depleted soil fertility.Biochar application has emerged as a promising solution for addressing these issues. In this study,we investigated the effects of four biochar application rates(no biochar(N)=0 t ha^(-1),low(L)=3 t ha^(-1),medium(M)=6 t ha^(-1),and high(H)=9 t ha^(-1))under film mulching and no mulching conditions over three growing seasons. We assessed the impacts on GHG emissions, soil organic carbon sequestration(SOCS),and maize yield to evaluate the productivity and sustainability of farmland ecosystems. Our results demonstrated that mulching increased maize yield(18.68-41.80%),total fixed C in straw(23.64%),grain(28.87%),and root(46.31%)biomass,and GHG emissions(CO_(2),10.78%;N_(2)O,3.41%),while reducing SOCS(6.57%)and GHG intensity(GHGI;13.61%).Under mulching, biochar application significantly increased maize yield(10.20%),total fixed C in straw(17.97%),grain(17.69%)and root(16.75%)biomass,and SOCS(4.78%).Moreover,it reduced the GHG emissions(CO_(2),3.09%;N_(2)O,6.36%)and GHGI(12.28%).These effects correlated with the biochar addition rate, with the optimal rate being 9.0 t ha^(-1).In conclusion, biochar application reduces CO_(2) and N_(2)O emissions, enhances CH_(4) absorption, and improves maize yield under film mulching. It also improves the soil carbon fixation capacity while mitigating the warming potential, making it a promising sustainable management method for mulched farmland in semiarid areas.
文摘As an emerging electrochemical energy storage technology,potassium-ion batteries(PIBs),which are considered a“beyond Li-ion”battery system, have attracted tremendous attention due to their potential for providing a high energy density, and having abundant resource, and a low cost. However, their commercialization is hindered by the lack of practical anode materials.Among various reported anodes, conventional carbon materials, including graphite, soft carbon, and hard carbon, have emerged as promising candidates because of their abundance, low cost, high conductivity, and tunable structures. However, these materials have problems such as a low initial Coulombic efficiency, significant volume expansion, and unsatisfactory cyclability and rate performance.Various strategies to solve these have been explored, including optimizing the interlayer spacing, structural design, surface coating, constructing a multifunctional framework, and forming composites. This review provides a comprehensive overview of the recent progress in conventional carbon anodes, highlighting structural design strategies, mechanisms for improving the electrochemical performance, and underscores the critical role of these materials in promoting the practical application of PIBs.

文摘Herein,an external crosslinker facilitated the hypercrosslinking of ferrocene and a nitrogen heterocyclic compound(either melamine or imidazole)through a direct Friedel-Crafts reaction, which led to the formation of nitrogen-containing hypercrosslinked fer-rocene polymer precursors(HCP-FCs).Subsequent carbonization of these precursors results in the production of iron-nitrogen-doped por-ous carbon absorbers(Fe-NPCs).The Fe-NPCs demonstrate a porous structure comprising aggregated nanotubes and nanospheres. The porosity of this structure can be modulated by adjusting the iron and nitrogen contents to optimize impedance matching. The uniform dis-tribution of Fe-N_(x)C,N dipoles,andα-Fe within the carbon matrix can be ensured by using hypercrosslinked ferrocenes in constructing porous carbon, providing the absorber with numerous polarization sites and a conductive network. The electromagnetic wave absorption performance of the specially designed Fe-NPC-M_(2)absorbers is satisfactory, revealing a minimum reflection loss of-55.3 dB at 2.5 mm and an effective absorption bandwidth of 6.00 GHz at 2.0 mm.By utilizing hypercrosslinked polymers(HCPs)as precursors,a novel method for developing highly efficient carbon-based absorbing agents is introduced in this research.
