Effect of sterically hindered amines on the cycling capacity of biphasic absorbents for industrial CO_(2) capture

The biphasic solvent is a promising solution to reduce regeneration energy consumption in CO_(2) capture.However,most current biphasic solvents suffer from high viscosity and poor desorption of the rich phase.To the issues,a novel pentamethyldiethylenetriamine(PMDETA)-2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol(AMP)/diethylenetriamine(DETA)-sulfolane biphasic solvent was developed.The mechanism of AMP affecting CO_(2) recycling capacity was analyzed.By adjusting the ratio of AMP and DETA,the absorption and desorption performance were balanced,and the recycling capacity and renewable energy consumption of the absorbent were improved.For the P_(2.4)A_(0.8)D_(0.8)S_(2) biphasic solvent,the CO_(2) loading of the rich phase was 5.87 mol/L,and the proportion of the rich phase volume ratio was 35%,which surpasses most reported biphasic solvents.The viscosity of the absorbent significantly decreased from 527.00 mPa·s to 92.26 mPa·s,attributed to the beneficial effect of AMP.Thermodynamic analysis showed that the biphasic solvent produced a lower regeneration energy consumption of 1.70 GJ/t CO_(2),which was 57%lower than that of monoethanolamine(MEA).Overall,the PMDETA-AMP/DETA-sulfolane biphasic solvent exhibited cycle capacity,which provided new insights for the designing of biphasic solvent. 展开更多

Preparation and performance analysis of non-aqueous absorbents based on alcohol ether organic compounds for CO_(2) capture

MEA aqueous solution is widely utilized as an absorbent in chemical absorption processes.However,it is challenged by many disadvantages,including low regeneration capacity and high energy consumption during regeneration.In this study,new no-aqueous MEA absorbents were prepared using alcohol ether organic solvents,including proprylene glycol monomethyl ether(PGME),ethylene glycol butyl ether(EGBE),poly(ethylene glycol)dimethyl ether(NHD)and diethylene glycol monoethyl Ether(DGME).Then the performance of the absorbents was assessed through a series of experiments and based on the results,a comparison was made between the non-aqueous absorbents to the conventional absorbent(30%(mass)MEA aqueous solution).It was found that the organic solvent system presented a higher CO_(2)removal efficiency than the MEA-H_(2)O system in the first 350 s,with the maximum enhancement ranging from 5.16%to 14.36%.While NHD improved the CO_(2)loading but reduced the regeneration efficiency.Except for the MEA-NHD system,all the other no-aqueous absorbents possessed a better regeneration efficiency than the MEA aqueous solution,which offers them the potential for industrial application.According to the data from NMR and FTIR analysis,after CO_(2)absorption,the products in the MEA-EGBE and MEA-DGME systems were mainly found in the lower phase,the other phase was mainly organic solvents.Therefore,only the lower phase needs to be treated during desorption,with the upper phase being recycled directly,thus reducing energy consumption.The use of alcohol ether organic solvents can improve the CO_(2)capture performance of absorbents to a certain extent and enhance their regeneration ability,providing a new direction for the subsequent research of non-aqueous absorbents. 展开更多

The present paper renders a modeling and a 2D numerical simulation for the removal of CO_2from CO_2/CH_4gaseous stream utilizing sodium hydroxide(NaOH),monoethanolamine(MEA)and triethanolamine(TEA)liquid absorbents inside the hollow fiber membrane contactor.Counter-current arrangement of absorbing agents and CO_2/CH_4gaseous mixture flows are implemented in the modeling and numerical simulation.Non-wetting and partial wetting modes of operation are considered where in the partial wetting mode,CO_2/CH_4gaseous mixture and liquid absorbents fill the membrane pores.The deteriorated removal of CO_2in the partial wetting mode of operation is mainly due to the mass transfer resistance imposed by the liquid in the pores of membrane.The validation of numerical simulation is done based on the comparison of simulation results of CO_2removal using Na OH and experimental data under non-wetting mode of operation.The comparison illustrates a desirable agreement with an average deviation of less than 5%.According to the results,MEA provides higher efficiency for CO_2removal in comparison with the other liquid absorbents.The order for CO_2removal performance is MEAN Na OHN TEA.The influence of non-wetting and partial wetting modes of operation on CO_2removal are evaluated in this article as one of the novelties.Besides,the percentage of CO_2sequestration as a function of gas velocity for various percentages of membrane pores wetting ranging from 0(non-wetting mode of operation)to 100%(complete wetting mode of operation)is studied in this research paper,which can be proposed as the other novelty.The results indicate that increase in some operational parameters such as module length,membrane porosity and absorbents concentration encourage the removal percentage of CO_2from CO_2/CH_4gaseous mixture while increasing in membrane tortuosity,gas velocity and initial CO_2concentration has unfavorable influence on the separation efficiency of CO_2. 展开更多

针对燃气轮机联合循环系统(combined-cycle gas turbine,CCGT)排放烟气中低浓度CO_(2)捕集效率低、能耗高的问题,该文开发一种基于3-二甲胺基丙胺(dimethylaminopropylamine,DMPDA)/N,N-二甲基环己胺(dimethylcyclohexylamine,DMCA)/H_(... 针对燃气轮机联合循环系统(combined-cycle gas turbine,CCGT)排放烟气中低浓度CO_(2)捕集效率低、能耗高的问题,该文开发一种基于3-二甲胺基丙胺(dimethylaminopropylamine,DMPDA)/N,N-二甲基环己胺(dimethylcyclohexylamine,DMCA)/H_(2)O体系的新型两相吸收剂。通过鼓泡反应器实验结合碳-13核磁共振(carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance,13C NMR)表征和量子化学计算,系统研究吸收剂的CO_(2)捕集性能、分相特性及反应机理。结果表明,当吸收剂组成为30 wt.%DMPDA且DMCA与H_(2)O质量比为6:4(DDH364)时,在313 K条件下CO_(2)吸收容量可达2.28 mol/kg,383 K解吸后循环容量达1.96 mol/kg;吸收后溶液自发分相,富相占比48%且黏度仅为44.6 mPa×s;反应后富相中的产物主要为DMPDACOO-,在质子化反应过程中,质子转移优先发生在分子内部;再生能耗低至2.74 GJ/tCO_(2),较传统30 %单乙醇胺(monoethanolamine,MEA)吸收剂降低38%。研究表明,DMPDA/DMCA/H_(2)O两相吸收剂具有吸收速率快、黏度低、再生能耗少等优势,可为CCGT系统低浓度CO_(2)高效捕集提供新型解决方案。 展开更多

Phase change solvents are attractive energy-efficient absorbents for carbon dioxide(CO_2) capture due to CO_2-rich phase formation. Potassium prolinate + water + ethanol(ProK/W/Eth) solution has shown good capture characteristics as a promising one in our previous work. In this work, absorption rate of CO_2, solubility of N2 O,and heat of absorption for ProK/W/Eth solution were investigated using a stirred cell reactor and a CPA201 reaction calorimeter and these results were also compared with the aqueous ProK and 30 mass% MEA solutions.Using ethanol as a solvent can substantially increase the CO_2 physical solubility and the absorption rate of CO_2 in ProK/W/Eth solutions is far higher than that in aqueous 30 mass% MEA solutions especially at a low CO_2 loading range. Solid precipitation, obtained from the liquid-to-solid phase change absorption, was analyzed by13 C NMR and DSC-TGA. The enthalpy change for ProK/W/Eth solutions at various CO_2 loading was also discussed. 展开更多

Fe_(2)AlB_(2)的高温氧化机制及吸波性能研究

传统吸波材料在高温条件下易失效,难以满足极端高温环境的性能需求。Fe_(2)AlB_(2)因其纳米层状结构以及优良的高温稳定性,在高温吸波领域备受关注。本研究通过湿法球磨-氩气烧结工艺制备了Fe_(2)AlB_(2)粉末,并系统研究了Fe_(2)AlB_(2... 传统吸波材料在高温条件下易失效,难以满足极端高温环境的性能需求。Fe_(2)AlB_(2)因其纳米层状结构以及优良的高温稳定性,在高温吸波领域备受关注。本研究通过湿法球磨-氩气烧结工艺制备了Fe_(2)AlB_(2)粉末,并系统研究了Fe_(2)AlB_(2)在高温下的氧化机制和吸波性能变化规律。同时,借助电磁仿真软件对其在7 GHz微波下的吸收过程进行了雷达散射截面模拟。结果表明:Fe_(2)AlB_(2)起始氧化温度为671℃,随着氧化温度的升高,其表面形成致密Al_(2)O_(3)保护膜,抗氧化性能显著增强;当氧化温度超过1000℃时,Al_(2)O_(3)膜破裂,主相转变为Fe_(2)O_(3)、Al_(4)B_(2)O_(9)以及非晶态B_(2)O_(3);在300~800℃氧化温度范围内,样品吸波性能随氧化温度升高而逐步提升,尤其在10 GHz附近,其介电损耗能力最为突出。当氧化温度升高至900℃时,在频率f=11.28 GHz下,样品的反射损耗达到-42.60 dB,相应的厚度为2.8 mm。Al_(2)O_(3)膜通过诱导“氧化膜-基体”界面极化损耗,显著提高了介电损耗效率。本研究阐明了Fe_(2)AlB_(2)在不同温度的氧化机制及其对吸波性能的影响规律,为其在高温吸波环境中的应用提供了理论基础。 展开更多

(B_(4)C+Al_(2)O_(3))/Al复合材料作为乏燃料干式贮存系统中的关键中子吸收材料,其在高温下长期服役的可靠性直接关系到核废料安全管理的有效性。该结构功能一体化材料在高温下存在非晶Al_(2)O_(3)(am-Al_(2)O_(3))向γ-Al_(2)O_(3)相变的风险,可能导致力学性能降低,但目前对其组织演化规律及性能稳定性的认识仍不足。为此,对(B_(4)C+Al_(2)O_(3))/Al复合材料进行了400℃/100 h和550℃/8 h 2种稳定化工艺处理,并通过400℃下最长4000 h的退火实验验证其长期稳定性。结果表明,经稳定化处理后,复合材料在室温及350℃下的抗拉强度分别保持在220.0和100.0 MPa以上,满足工程应用需求。微观组织分析表明,am-Al_(2)O_(3)部分转化为γ-Al_(2)O_(3),但材料在退火过程中组织与性能均趋于稳定。2种工艺均能有效提升材料的热稳定性,为(B_(4)C+Al_(2)O_(3))/Al复合材料制备的乏燃料干式贮存容器实现长期安全服役提供了材料学依据。 展开更多

开展CO_(2)捕集是缓解化石能源利用与全球变暖问题之间矛盾的有效途径,胺基吸收剂是CO_(2)捕集(化学吸收法)的主要材料。介绍了胺基吸收剂捕集CO_(2)的机理,对比了不同胺基吸收剂的构成特征及其CO_(2)捕集性能。单组分胺吸收剂制备工艺... 开展CO_(2)捕集是缓解化石能源利用与全球变暖问题之间矛盾的有效途径,胺基吸收剂是CO_(2)捕集(化学吸收法)的主要材料。介绍了胺基吸收剂捕集CO_(2)的机理,对比了不同胺基吸收剂的构成特征及其CO_(2)捕集性能。单组分胺吸收剂制备工艺简单,但存在CO_(2)吸收容量低(0.50~0.53 mol/mol)、再生能耗高(3.5~4.0 GJ/t)等问题。通过引入其他吸收剂形成混合胺吸收剂,可将CO_(2)吸收容量提高至0.706 mol/mol(2-氨基-2-甲基-1-丙醇和N-甲基-4-哌啶醇),并可降低再生能耗、提高经济性。两相吸收剂因仅需加热富相部分,再生能耗低至1.61 GJ/t(2-氨基-2-甲基-1-丙醇/哌嗪/乙二醇二甲醚),且具有较好的稳定性,发展前景良好。少水(无水)吸收剂在CO_(2)吸收容量方面优势突出,但吸收速率较慢,再生能耗达2.365 GJ/t(二乙烯三胺-三乙醇胺)。以离子液体吸收剂为代表的新型吸收剂,具有良好的CO_(2)捕集性能,能够有效避免传统吸收剂能耗高、降解快、腐蚀设备和成本高等问题,但其距离实际应用仍需进一步研究与验证。本综述可为CO_(2)捕集胺基吸收剂的种类选择和性能提升提供参考。 展开更多

In this work,a novel microwave absorbing material(MAM)made of a pseudo-binary of Sr_(2)TiMoO_(6)-Al_(2)O_(3)(STM)is proposed first.The MAMs labeled as STM X(X=60,70,80 and 100,respectively),in which X is the initial weight percent of Sr_(2)TiMoO_(6),were synthesized using the solid-state reaction method.Compared with STM100,some equilibrium phases,including SrTiO_(3),Mo,Sr_(8)(Al1_(2)O_(24))(MoO_(4))_(2)and a few undefined ones,are presented in the composites as evidenced by X-ray diffraction results and scanning electron microscopy due to the chemical reaction between Sr_(2)TiMoO_(6)and Al_(2)O_(3)component.Besides conductance loss,heterogeneous interfaces between various equilibrium phases introduce interfacial polarization,which causes an enhancement of dissipation for the incident electromagnetic wave.Among the synthesized samples,STM80 presents the best microwave absorbing properties.It has a minimum reflection loss(RLmin)of-26 dB and an effective absorbing bandwidth up to 2.7 GHz when the thickness is only 1 mm.This indicates that STM80 is a new type of microwave absorbing material with strong absorption and ultrathin thickness. 展开更多

Industrial Progress:New Energy-Efficient Absorbents for the CO_(2) Separation from Natural Gas,Syngas and Flue Gas 被引量:1

The CO2 separation from natural gas, syngas or flue gas represents an important industrial field of applications. An economic and energy-efficient CO2 separation from these gas streams is a prerequisite for sustainable industry contributions to the megatrends resource efficiency and globalization of technologies. One way of reducing operational expenditure for these separation processes is the development of better performing CO2 absorbents. Although a number of absorbents for the separation of CO2 from process gas streams exist, the need for the development of CO2 absorbents with an improved absorption performance, less corrosion and foaming, no nitrosamine formation, lower energy requirement and therefore less operational expenditure remains. Recent industrial activities have led to the development of novel high-performance CO2 scrubbing agents that can be employed in numerous industrial processes such as natural gas treatment, purification of syngas and the scrubbing of flue gas. The objective of this paper is to introduce these new high-performance scrubbing agents and to compare their performance with other state-of-the-art absorbents. It turned out, that the evaluated absorbents offer high cyclic capacities in the range of 2.4 to 2.6 mol CO2/kg absorbent and low absorption enthalpies (–30 kJ/mol) allowing for distinctive savings in the regeneration energy of the absorbent. Calculations with the modified Kremser model resulted in a reduction of the specific reboiler heat duty of 55%. Furthermore, the absorbents are less corrosive than standard amines as indicated by the measured corrosion rates of 0.21 mm/y versus 1.18 mm/y for a piperazine/methyldiethanolamine mixture. Based on new experimental results it is shown how substantial savings in operational and capital expenditure can be realized due to favorable absorbent properties. The novel high-performance CO2 system solutions meet recent industrial absorbent requirements and allow for more efficient or new CO2 separation processes. 展开更多

为准确测量镀锡板71钝化工艺铬酸溶液中的SO_(4)^(2-)的浓度,研究了可见光分光光度仪及其检测方法的适用性,并对检测效果进行了产线验证。通过向铬酸溶液中滴加BaCl_(2),使SO_(4)^(2-)与Ba^(2+)生成BaSO_(4)沉淀,再对比加药前后的铬酸... 为准确测量镀锡板71钝化工艺铬酸溶液中的SO_(4)^(2-)的浓度,研究了可见光分光光度仪及其检测方法的适用性,并对检测效果进行了产线验证。通过向铬酸溶液中滴加BaCl_(2),使SO_(4)^(2-)与Ba^(2+)生成BaSO_(4)沉淀,再对比加药前后的铬酸溶液吸光度和透光率的变化,实现SO_(4)^(2-)浓度的检测。为提高测试数据的准确性,使用铁氟龙亲水滤膜对铬酸溶液进行过滤,排除了铬酸溶液中杂质颗粒的干扰;通过向铬酸溶液中滴加盐酸,将CrO_(4)^(2-)转变为Cr_(2)O_(7)^(2-),排除了BaCrO_(4)沉淀的干扰;对加药后的铬酸溶液进行超声波振荡,排除了BaSO4沉淀团聚对测试结果的干扰。实验发现:在分光光度计的测试波长>570 nm时,光源可透过橙黄色的铬酸检测不透光的BaSO_(4)沉淀颗粒,SO_(4)^(2-)的浓度与样品的吸光度呈线性关系,与透光率呈负对数关系,据此建立硫酸根标准曲线。吸光度和透光率均可用于检测铬酸溶液中的硫酸根浓度,经与离子色谱法测试数据对比,测试准确度和精度均可满足产线的使用需求,大幅降低了检测成本。 展开更多

Abstract: Two Canadian limestones with different properties were tested to determine the effect of SO2 during the carbonation of sorbent on the CO2 capture performance in Ca- looping. When the reaction gas is mixed with SO2, the carbonation ratio of the sorbent is always lower than that without SO2 for each cycle under the same conditions, and the sulfation ratio increases almost linearly with the increase in the cycle times. At 650 ℃, there is little difference in the carbonation ratio of the sorbent during the first four cycles for the two carbonation time, 5 and 10 rain at 0. 18% SO2. The indirect sulfation reaction that occurs simultaneously with the carbonation of CaO is responsible for the degradation of the sorbent for CO2 capture, and the carbonation duration is not the main factor that affects the ability of the sorbent. 680℃ is the best carbonation temperature among the three tested temperatures and the highest carbonation ratio can be obtained. Also, the sulfation ratio is the highest. The probable cause is the different effects of temperature on the carbonation rate and sulfation rate. A higher SO2 concentration will decrease the carbonation ratio clearly, but the decrease in the carbonation capability of the sorbent is not proportional to the increase of the SO2 concentration in flue gases. 展开更多

Post-combustion CO_2 capture(PCC) process faces significant challenge of high regeneration energy consumption.Biphasic absorbent is a promising alternative candidate which could significantly reduce the regeneration energy consumption because only the CO_2-concentrated phase should be regenerated. In this work, aqueous solutions of triethylenetetramine(TETA) and N,N-diethylethanolamine(DEEA) are found to be efficient biphasic absorbents of CO_2. The effects of the solvent composition, total amine concentration, and temperature on the absorption behavior, as well as the effect of temperature on the desorption behavior of TETA–DEEA–H2 O system were investigated. An aqueous solution of 1 mol·L-1 TETA and 4 mol·L-1 DEEA spontaneously separates into two liquid phases after a certain amount of CO_2 is absorbed and it shows high CO_2 absorption/desorption performance.About 99.4% of the absorbed CO_2 is found in the lower phase, which corresponds to a CO_2 absorption capacity of 3.44 mol·kg-1. The appropriate absorption and desorption temperatures are found to be 30 °C and 90 °C,respectively. The thermal analysis indicates that the heat of absorption of the 1 mol·L-1 TETA and 4 mol·L-1 DEEA solution is-84.38 kJ·(mol CO_2)-1 which is 6.92 kJ·(mol CO_2)-1 less than that of aqueous MEA. The reaction heat, sensible heat, and the vaporization heat of the TETA–DEEA–H2 O system are lower than that of the aqueous MEA, while its CO_2 capacity is higher. Thus the TETA–DEEA–H2 O system is potentially a better absorbent for the post-combustion CO_2 capture process. 展开更多

Phase engineering is an important strategy to modulate the electronic structure of molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2)).MoS_(2)-based composites are usually used for the electromagnetic wave(EMW)absorber,but the effect of different phases on the EMW absorbing performance,such as 1T and 2H phase,is still not studied.In this work,micro-1T/2H MoS_(2) is achieved via a facile one-step hydrother-mal route,in which the 1T phase is induced by the intercalation of vip molecules and ions.The EMW absorption mechanism of single MoS_(2) is revealed by presenting a comparative study between 1T/2H MoS_(2) and 2H MoS_(2).As a result,1T/2H MoS_(2) with the matrix loading of 15%exhibits excellent microwave absorption property than 2H MoS_(2).Furthermore,taking the advantage of 1T/2H MoS_(2),a flexible EMW absorbers that ultrathin 1T/2H MoS_(2)grown on the carbon fiber also performs outstanding performance only with the matrix loading of 5%.This work offers necessary reference to improve microwave absorption performance by phase engineering and design a new type of flexible electromagnetic wave absorption material to apply for the portable microwave absorption electronic devices. 展开更多

Transparent microwave absorbers that exhibit high optical transmittance and microwave absorption capability are ideal,although having a fixed absorption performance limits their applicability.Here,a simple,transparent,and thermally tunable microwave absorber is proposed,based on a patterned vanadium dioxide(VO_(2))film.Numerical calculations and experiments demonstrate that the proposed VO_(2)absorber has a high optical transmittance of 84.9%at 620 nm;its reflection loss at 15.06 GHz can be thermally tuned from–4.257 to–60.179 dB,and near-unity absorption is achieved at 523.750 K.Adjusting only the patterned VO_(2)film duty cycle can change the temperature of near-unity absorption.Our VO_(2)absorber has a simple composition,a high optical transmittance,a thermally tunable microwave absorption performance,a large modulation depth,and an adjustable temperature tuning range,making it promising for application in tunable sensors,thermal emitters,modulators,thermal imaging,bolometers,and photovoltaic devices. 展开更多

We demonstrate an ultrafast fiber laser based on transition metal dichalcogenide materials which are tungsten disulfide (WS<sub>2</sub>) and molybdenum disulfide (MoS<sub>2</sub>) as saturable absorber (SA). These materials are fabricated via a simple drop-casting method. By employing WS<sub>2</sub>, we obtain a stable harmonic mode-locking at the threshold pump power of 184 mW, and the generated soliton pulse has 3.48 MHz of repetition rate. At the maximum pump power of 250 mW, we also obtain a small value of pulse duration, 2.43 ps with signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 57 dB. For MoS<sub>2</sub> SA, the pulse is generated at 105 mW pump power with repetition rate of 1.16 MHz. However, the pulse duration cannot be detected by the autocorrelator device as the pulse duration recorded is 468 ns, with the SNR value of 35 dB. 展开更多
