Anoectochilus roxburghii from different planting sources was used as the research object,and the biological activity of its extracts was compared.The results showed that the whole plant extracts of A.roxburghii plante...Anoectochilus roxburghii from different planting sources was used as the research object,and the biological activity of its extracts was compared.The results showed that the whole plant extracts of A.roxburghii planted in bag culture (BAG),greenhouse cultivation (GRE) and tissue culture seedlings (TIS) were rich in active ingredients such as A.roxburghii polysaccharides and A.roxburghii glycosides.In vitro experiments showed that Anoectochilus roxburghii extracts from different planting sources had good antioxidant capacity,tyrosinase inhibition ability and hyaluronidase inhibition ability.Among them,the GRE Anoectochilus roxburghii whole plant extract had the strongest scavenging ability on DPPH free radical,ABTS free radical and hydroxyl free radical,and the inhibitory effect on tyrosinase activity and hyaluronidase activity was significantly higher than that of BAG and TIS.At the same time,it also verified that the extract of Anoectochilus roxburghii has antioxidant,whitening,anti-inflammatory and other skin care effects,which provides a theoretical basis for the development and application of Anoectochilus roxburghii extract in the field of cosmetics.展开更多

This study aimed to develop and evaluate antimicrobial herbal creams formulated with fresh and dried banana peel(FBP and DBP)extracts for cosmetic applications.Given the abundance of lignocellulosic and bioactive comp...This study aimed to develop and evaluate antimicrobial herbal creams formulated with fresh and dried banana peel(FBP and DBP)extracts for cosmetic applications.Given the abundance of lignocellulosic and bioactive compounds in banana peels,their use in skincare products may provide a natural alternative to synthetic antimicrobial agents.Creams were prepared using standardized formulations containing either fresh or dried banana peel extract.Antimicrobial activity was tested against Staphylococcus aureus,Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Aspergillus niger,and Candida albicans using the agar well diffusion method.Physical properties,including spreadability,pH,homogeneity,and stability,were also evaluated and compared to a commercial cream.The FBP-based cream exhibited strong antibacterial activity,particularly against S.aureus and P.aeruginosa,with inhibition zones up to 40.73 mm.In contrast,the DBP-based cream showed superior antifungal activity against C.albicans and A.niger,with zones up to 49.63 mm.FBP creams also demonstrated better spreadability(34.0 g·cm/s)and uniformity compared to DBP.The results suggest that banana peel extracts possess significant antimicrobial properties and are suitable for use in topical formulations.FBP is more effective for antibacterial applications,while DBP shows stronger antifungal activity.Combining both may offer broad-spectrum protection.Further work should include compound characterization and formulation controls to optimize efficacy.展开更多

Background:The use of skincare cosmetics can enhance human skin integrity,appearance,and conditions.However,consumers nowadays are quite concerned about the efficacy of skincare cosmetics,particularly those with antio...Background:The use of skincare cosmetics can enhance human skin integrity,appearance,and conditions.However,consumers nowadays are quite concerned about the efficacy of skincare cosmetics,particularly those with antioxidant properties that can improve skin tone and skin health.Previous studies also reported that volatile organic compounds(VOCs)in skincare cosmetics could have beneficial effects on human skin.Objective:This research aims to evaluate the antioxidant properties of CHARMS^(TM)skincare cosmetics as well as to investigate the presence of VOCs that could influence their skin tone improvement properties.Material and methods:The CHARMS^(TM)products used were cleanser,toner,essence,serum,moisturizer,scrub,and night cream.The skin tone improvement was assessed on 20 female volunteers’facial skin by using a colorimeter.The antioxidant properties were evaluated by 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH)free radical scavenging assay,total phenolic content(TPC),and total flavonoid content(TFC).Meanwhile,the VOCs were measured using an electronic nose based on gas chromatography(e-nose-GC).Results:The findings show that skin tone was improved significantly by 3.23%in which the skin becomes lighter while skin redness was reduced by 5.75%after using the CHARMS^(TM)skincare cosmetics.The results also show that the cleanser(21.55±0.23%)and the serum(23.60±0.19%)had the highest DPPH radical scavenging activity.Contrarily,the moisturizer exhibited the highest TPC value(324.14±17.47 mg GAE/g),and the cleanser had the highest TFC value(24.68±1.57 mg QE/g).The VOCs detected in these skincare cosmetics such as limonene andγ-terpinene may have skin-lightening effects.Conclusion:It can be concluded that the tested products from CHARMS^(TM)skincare cosmetics comply with the standard regulations and guidelines for Control of Cosmetic Products in Malaysia and can be used effectively as a daily skincare routine.展开更多
With the improvement of people’s living standards and the demand for their own health,plant-derived cosmetics containing plant extracts or plant active ingredients are also more and more favored by consumers.In fact,...With the improvement of people’s living standards and the demand for their own health,plant-derived cosmetics containing plant extracts or plant active ingredients are also more and more favored by consumers.In fact,the research on plant-derived cosmetics has a history of centuries and even over 1,000 years both domestically and internationally.In order to further analyze the domestic and international research hotspots and future trends in the research field of plant-derived cosmetics,the relevant literatures from China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)database,Wanfang database,Vip database and Web of Science Core Collection(WoSCC)database from January 1994 to June 2024 were chosen as research objects in this paper.The authors,countries,research institutions and key words of the selected 1,415 Chinese papers and 1,927 English papers were visually analysed using the bibliometric software CiteSpace and VOSviewer.The results show that the number of publications shows an increasing trend;the communication and cooperation between core authors and between research institutions of the publicationare are both weak;the research hotspots mainly focus on natural plants,Chinese herbs,active ingredients,and whitening;and future research trends may include green synthesis,efficacy application,health and safety,etc.This study aims to grasp the hot spots and trends in the field of plant-derived cosmetics,and to provide ideas and references for the relevant research in China in the future.展开更多
A high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)method has been developed using a CAPCELL PAK ADME(150 mm×4.6 mm,5μm)as analytical column and a gradient elution with 15 min using acetonitrile and 0.1%(in volume fr...A high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)method has been developed using a CAPCELL PAK ADME(150 mm×4.6 mm,5μm)as analytical column and a gradient elution with 15 min using acetonitrile and 0.1%(in volume fraction)phosphoric acid water(pH=2.2)as the mobile phase.Three active substances in cosmetics were quantitatively detected simultaneously at a detection wavelength of 265 nm.The linear ranges of β-nicotinamide mononucleotides,ergothioneine and nicotinamide are 10~200 mg/L,5~100 mg/L and 5~100 mg/L respectively and the detection limits of three components are 3.0 mg/L,1.5 mg/L and 1.5 mg/L respectively.The recovery rate is 97.1~104.9%,with RSD≤2.0%.The method was applied to quantitative analysis of five samples of cosmetics toner,lotion,cream,essence and gel and three samples of raw materials.The results showed that the results of β-nicotinamide mononucleotide and ergothioneine in five cosmetics were consistent with the product label,while nicotinamide was inconsistent with the label.The purity of the three raw material samples was 99.5%,99.7% and 100.8%respectively.This method offers high precision,accuracy and short analysis time,making it a reliable approach for studying three active ingredients in cosmetics and suitable for quality control of related functional ingredients.展开更多

As the amount of online video content is increasing,consumers are becoming increasingly interested in various product names appearing in videos,particularly in cosmetic-product names in videos related to fashion,beaut...As the amount of online video content is increasing,consumers are becoming increasingly interested in various product names appearing in videos,particularly in cosmetic-product names in videos related to fashion,beauty,and style.Thus,the identification of such products by using image recognition technology may aid in the identification of current commercial trends.In this paper,we propose a two-stage deep-learning detection and classification method for cosmetic products.Specifically,variants of the YOLO network are used for detection,where the bounding box for each given input product is predicted and subsequently cropped for classification.We use four state-of-the-art classification networks,namely ResNet,InceptionResNetV2,DenseNet,and EfficientNet,and compare their performance.Furthermore,we employ dilated convolution in these networks to obtain better feature representations and improve performance.Extensive experiments demonstrate that YOLOv3 and its tiny version achieve higher speed and accuracy.Moreover,the dilated networks marginally outperform the base models,or achieve similar performance in the worst case.We conclude that the proposed method can effectively detect and classify cosmetic products.展开更多

文摘Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)represent a class of multifunctional hybrid materials distinguished by their tunable structural architectures,adjustable pore dimensions,and tailorable surface chemical functionalities,which underpin their broad applicability across diverse domains.Within the cosmetics industry,MOFs exhibit significant application potential owing to their high thermal and chemical stability,substantial loading capacity,low biological toxicity,favorable luminescent characteristics,and robust catalytic activity,leading to their increasing deployment in various cosmetic-related applications.This article systematically outlines the structural features and functional properties of MOFs,emphasizing their suitability for integration into cosmetic systems.Furthermore,it provides a comprehensive review of recent advances in the utilization of MOFs in cosmetics,encompassing the detection of organic contaminants and metal ions,ultraviolet protection,encapsulation,and controlled release of volatile active ingredients,as well as targeted delivery of dermatological therapeutic agents.The structure-property-application relationships of MOFs are critically examined.Building upon the foundation of existing research,this study offers a comprehensive outlook on the future development of MOFs in the field of cosmetics.It presents several strategic perspectives,including an in-depth analysis of current application studies,the expansion of MOFs applications into additional cosmetic domains,the integration of multifunctional MOFs systems,the development of MOFs-based composite materials,and the scale-up of synthesis processes from laboratory-scale research to industrial production.It is expected that the present piece of paper can contribute valuable guidance for further exploration and practical implementation in this emerging field of cosmetics.

文摘This study aimed to develop and evaluate antimicrobial herbal creams formulated with fresh and dried banana peel(FBP and DBP)extracts for cosmetic applications.Given the abundance of lignocellulosic and bioactive compounds in banana peels,their use in skincare products may provide a natural alternative to synthetic antimicrobial agents.Creams were prepared using standardized formulations containing either fresh or dried banana peel extract.Antimicrobial activity was tested against Staphylococcus aureus,Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Aspergillus niger,and Candida albicans using the agar well diffusion method.Physical properties,including spreadability,pH,homogeneity,and stability,were also evaluated and compared to a commercial cream.The FBP-based cream exhibited strong antibacterial activity,particularly against S.aureus and P.aeruginosa,with inhibition zones up to 40.73 mm.In contrast,the DBP-based cream showed superior antifungal activity against C.albicans and A.niger,with zones up to 49.63 mm.FBP creams also demonstrated better spreadability(34.0 g·cm/s)and uniformity compared to DBP.The results suggest that banana peel extracts possess significant antimicrobial properties and are suitable for use in topical formulations.FBP is more effective for antibacterial applications,while DBP shows stronger antifungal activity.Combining both may offer broad-spectrum protection.Further work should include compound characterization and formulation controls to optimize efficacy.

文摘Background of the study:The Bangladeshi cosmetics market has witnessed significant growth in recent years,driven by changing consumer lifestyles,increased disposable incomes,and rising awareness of personal grooming.The study investigates the impact of content cues which influence on purchasing intention towards cosmetic brands in Bangladesh.Purpose:The basic purpose of this study was to evaluate the factors influencing consumers’purchasing intentions for cosmetic brands in Bangladesh.Specifically,the study explored the roles of various cosmetic-related attributes and their impact on purchasing intentions within the context of Bangladesh’s cosmetic industry.Research methods:A quantitative research approach was adopted,and data were collected through a structured survey targeting Bangladeshi consumers who frequently engage with cosmetic products.All the valid responses were analyzed using SmartPLS 4.0 to perform structural equation modeling.Research findings:The findings revealed that trust in cosmetic brands and competitive pricing significantly influence consumers’purchasing intentions,highlighting the importance of fostering trust and affordability.However,certain constructs,such as ethnocentric tendencies and concerns about ingredient safety,showed limited impact on consumers’decisions.Conclusion:This study contributes to the existing literature by offering empirical insights into the Bangladeshi context,particularly within the rapidly growing cosmetics market.The findings provide actionable recommendations for cosmetic brands aiming to strengthen their market position through trust-building initiatives,competitive pricing strategies,and educational campaigns to enhance consumer awareness.These insights are particularly relevant for marketing practitioners seeking to understand and respond to the unique dynamics of the Bangladeshi cosmetics industry.

文摘Background:The use of skincare cosmetics can enhance human skin integrity,appearance,and conditions.However,consumers nowadays are quite concerned about the efficacy of skincare cosmetics,particularly those with antioxidant properties that can improve skin tone and skin health.Previous studies also reported that volatile organic compounds(VOCs)in skincare cosmetics could have beneficial effects on human skin.Objective:This research aims to evaluate the antioxidant properties of CHARMS^(TM)skincare cosmetics as well as to investigate the presence of VOCs that could influence their skin tone improvement properties.Material and methods:The CHARMS^(TM)products used were cleanser,toner,essence,serum,moisturizer,scrub,and night cream.The skin tone improvement was assessed on 20 female volunteers’facial skin by using a colorimeter.The antioxidant properties were evaluated by 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH)free radical scavenging assay,total phenolic content(TPC),and total flavonoid content(TFC).Meanwhile,the VOCs were measured using an electronic nose based on gas chromatography(e-nose-GC).Results:The findings show that skin tone was improved significantly by 3.23%in which the skin becomes lighter while skin redness was reduced by 5.75%after using the CHARMS^(TM)skincare cosmetics.The results also show that the cleanser(21.55±0.23%)and the serum(23.60±0.19%)had the highest DPPH radical scavenging activity.Contrarily,the moisturizer exhibited the highest TPC value(324.14±17.47 mg GAE/g),and the cleanser had the highest TFC value(24.68±1.57 mg QE/g).The VOCs detected in these skincare cosmetics such as limonene andγ-terpinene may have skin-lightening effects.Conclusion:It can be concluded that the tested products from CHARMS^(TM)skincare cosmetics comply with the standard regulations and guidelines for Control of Cosmetic Products in Malaysia and can be used effectively as a daily skincare routine.
文摘With the improvement of people’s living standards and the demand for their own health,plant-derived cosmetics containing plant extracts or plant active ingredients are also more and more favored by consumers.In fact,the research on plant-derived cosmetics has a history of centuries and even over 1,000 years both domestically and internationally.In order to further analyze the domestic and international research hotspots and future trends in the research field of plant-derived cosmetics,the relevant literatures from China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)database,Wanfang database,Vip database and Web of Science Core Collection(WoSCC)database from January 1994 to June 2024 were chosen as research objects in this paper.The authors,countries,research institutions and key words of the selected 1,415 Chinese papers and 1,927 English papers were visually analysed using the bibliometric software CiteSpace and VOSviewer.The results show that the number of publications shows an increasing trend;the communication and cooperation between core authors and between research institutions of the publicationare are both weak;the research hotspots mainly focus on natural plants,Chinese herbs,active ingredients,and whitening;and future research trends may include green synthesis,efficacy application,health and safety,etc.This study aims to grasp the hot spots and trends in the field of plant-derived cosmetics,and to provide ideas and references for the relevant research in China in the future.
文摘A high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)method has been developed using a CAPCELL PAK ADME(150 mm×4.6 mm,5μm)as analytical column and a gradient elution with 15 min using acetonitrile and 0.1%(in volume fraction)phosphoric acid water(pH=2.2)as the mobile phase.Three active substances in cosmetics were quantitatively detected simultaneously at a detection wavelength of 265 nm.The linear ranges of β-nicotinamide mononucleotides,ergothioneine and nicotinamide are 10~200 mg/L,5~100 mg/L and 5~100 mg/L respectively and the detection limits of three components are 3.0 mg/L,1.5 mg/L and 1.5 mg/L respectively.The recovery rate is 97.1~104.9%,with RSD≤2.0%.The method was applied to quantitative analysis of five samples of cosmetics toner,lotion,cream,essence and gel and three samples of raw materials.The results showed that the results of β-nicotinamide mononucleotide and ergothioneine in five cosmetics were consistent with the product label,while nicotinamide was inconsistent with the label.The purity of the three raw material samples was 99.5%,99.7% and 100.8%respectively.This method offers high precision,accuracy and short analysis time,making it a reliable approach for studying three active ingredients in cosmetics and suitable for quality control of related functional ingredients.

文摘Regulations on the supervision and administration of cosmetics(hereinafter referred to as“CSAR”)will be formally implemented on January 1,2021,and there are more than 10 related regulations and normative documents draft has been issued,these new rules will be built to form a new cosmetics regulatory system,the CSAR for the first time put forward the"cosmetic notification person and registration person system",improve the barriers to entry for cosmetic notification person and registration person.This paper summarizes and analyzes the new regulations on cosmetics issued in 2020,and briefly discusses the new requirements and suggestions on setting up quality management system,quality safety responsible person,adverse reaction monitoring and evaluation system,cosmetic efficacy evaluation and other new requirements for cosmetics notification person and registration person after the implementation of the new regulations.

文摘This article is based on data analysis from 2012 to 2019 of imported non-special-use cosmetics registration quantity,special-use cosmetics registration quantity,children's cosmetics registration quantity,etc.And also based on the Regulation on Supervision and Administration of Cosmetics(Draft),and so on.This article will briefly discuss the influence of the new trend of Chinese cosmetics regulations on the development of the cosmetics industry.According to data analysis,the pre-market approval process for cosmetics is closely related to the annual increase in the new product registrations quantity.Since March 1st,2017,the reform of the imported non-special-use cosmetics registration was first initiated in Pudong New Area in Shanghai,the imported cosmetics registration quantity has increased significantly,so as the non-special-use children’s registration.Under the background of no obvious change in the pre-marketing approval process of imported special-use cosmetics,there is no significant increase in the quantity of annual registration.Among the nine categories of special-use cosmetics,sunscreen and whitening cosmetics accounted for the highest proportion,followed by hair dyeing.For the hair-growing,breast beauty,fitness categories of special-use cosmetics,the registration quantity each year was very low due to the low approval rate,long approval process and high testing costs,etc.According to the new trend of Chinese cosmetics regulations,the idea of cosmetics supervision and administration is changing from focusing on pre-market approval procedures to focusing on post-market surveillance.

文摘As the amount of online video content is increasing,consumers are becoming increasingly interested in various product names appearing in videos,particularly in cosmetic-product names in videos related to fashion,beauty,and style.Thus,the identification of such products by using image recognition technology may aid in the identification of current commercial trends.In this paper,we propose a two-stage deep-learning detection and classification method for cosmetic products.Specifically,variants of the YOLO network are used for detection,where the bounding box for each given input product is predicted and subsequently cropped for classification.We use four state-of-the-art classification networks,namely ResNet,InceptionResNetV2,DenseNet,and EfficientNet,and compare their performance.Furthermore,we employ dilated convolution in these networks to obtain better feature representations and improve performance.Extensive experiments demonstrate that YOLOv3 and its tiny version achieve higher speed and accuracy.Moreover,the dilated networks marginally outperform the base models,or achieve similar performance in the worst case.We conclude that the proposed method can effectively detect and classify cosmetic products.

This paper comprehensively summarizes the requirements and methods for the evaluation of cosmetic safety and efficacy claims under the new regulations, and puts forward suggestions for relevant enterprises and practitioners, which provides useful guidance and reference for the cosmetic safety and efficacy claim evaluation.
文摘This review is presented as a common interest in silver nanoparticles, their origin, activity, and toxicity in cosmetic. The application of nanotechnology and nanomaterials can be found in many cosmetic products including moisturizer, hair care products, makeup and sunscreen. Nanomaterials are now being used in leading cosmetics products, most commonly as chemicals used to give the protection. A silver nanoparticle is the potent and broad spectrum antimicrobial agent. This review paper looks into use of nano silver and provides an overview of current activity in this area.
