Meeting the increasing demand for food and industrial products by the growing global population requires targeted efforts to improve crops,livestock,and microorganisms.Modern biotechnology,particularly genetic modific...Meeting the increasing demand for food and industrial products by the growing global population requires targeted efforts to improve crops,livestock,and microorganisms.Modern biotechnology,particularly genetic modification(GM)and genome-editing(GE)technologies,is crucial for food security and environmental sustainability.China,which is at the forefront of global biotechnological innovation and the rapid advancements in GM and GE technologies,has prioritized this field by implementing strategic programs such as the National High-tech Research&Development Program in 1986,the National Genetically Modified Organism New Variety Breeding Program in 2008,and the Biological Breeding-National Science and Technology Major Project in 2022.Many biotechnological products have been widely commercialized in China,including biofertilizers,animal feed,animal vaccines,pesticides,and GM crops such as cotton(Gossypium hirsutum),maize(Zea mays),and soybean(Glycine max).In this review,we summarize progress on the research and utilization of GM and GE organisms in China over the past 3 decades and provide perspectives on their further development.This review thus aims to promote worldwide academic exchange and contribute to the further development and commercial success of agricultural biotechnology.展开更多

This study aims to examine the challenges and future directions of large-scale wooden construction education at universities in Japan and Finland.It compares the wooden construction curricula at universities and the a...This study aims to examine the challenges and future directions of large-scale wooden construction education at universities in Japan and Finland.It compares the wooden construction curricula at universities and the architectural education initiatives undertaken by firms specializing in large-scale wood construction design in both countries.The target applications for large-scale wooden construction are residential,commercial,and public buildings.Comparing university education revealed many commonalities between the two countries,allowing them to be classified into two types:“seminar-centered”and“lecture-centered”.Japanese universities are categorized by building type and scale for educational purposes.Finnish universities focus their education on the properties and functions of wood.Based on these results,we infer that incorporating both Japan’s architecture-planning-focused education and Finland’s materials-focused education into teaching,using familiar housing buildings as a theme,will lead to the wider adoption of large-scale wooden construction.展开更多

The traditional nanozymes-based ratiometric fluorescence sensing platforms usually necessitate the supplementary addition of fluorescent probes,therefore greatly restricting its convenient and broad application.In thi...The traditional nanozymes-based ratiometric fluorescence sensing platforms usually necessitate the supplementary addition of fluorescent probes,therefore greatly restricting its convenient and broad application.In this study,a highly sensitive and selective ratiometric fluorescence platform for alkaline phosphatase(ALP)detection was established,only employing Prussian blue(PB)nanozymes and a commercially available chromogen of o-phenylenediamine(OPD).PB nanozymes with remarkable peroxidaselike(POD-like)activity can effectively catalyze OPD chromogen to yield 2,3-diaminophenazine(OPDox)with an intense yellow fluorescence at 573 nm emission peak.Target ALP can facilitate ascorbic acid 2-phosphate(AAP)dephosphorylation to generate phosphate and ascorbic acid(AA).Significantly,both these two resultant hydrolysis products could effectively decrease the OPDox generation via a dualpath based inhibition on the PB nanozymes POD-like activity.On the other hand,the generated dehydroascorbic acid(DHAA)from AA oxidation would exclusively react with OPD chromogen to yield3-(dihydroxyethyl)furo[3,4-b]quinoxaline-1-one(DFQ)with a strong blue fluorescent signal at 434nm,which further providing a significant enhancement on the sensing selectivity of ALP detection.As a result,an increased yellow fluorescence of OPDox and decreased blue fluorescence of DFQ could be clearly observed with different ALP addition.A robust linear relationship between the fluorescence ratio of F_(434)/F_(573)and ALP activity ranging from 0.25U/L to 6U/L was obtained,with a low detection limit of 0.112 U/L.This proposed method demonstrates high sensitivity,excellent selectivity,cost-effectiveness,and operational simplicity,yet enabling an effective detection of ALP levels in human serum.展开更多

Regarding the lane keeping system,path tracking accuracy and lateral stability at high speeds need to be taken into account especially for commercial vehicles due to the characteristics of larger mass,longer wheelbase...Regarding the lane keeping system,path tracking accuracy and lateral stability at high speeds need to be taken into account especially for commercial vehicles due to the characteristics of larger mass,longer wheelbase and higher mass center.To improve the performance mentioned above comprehensively,the control strategy based on improved artificial potential field(APF)algorithm is proposed.In the paper,time to lane crossing(TLC)is introduced into the potential field function to enhance the accuracy of path tracking,meanwhile the vehicle dynamics parameters including yaw rate and lateral acceleration are chosen as the repulsive force field source.The lane keeping controller based on improved APF algorithm is designed and the stability of the control system is proved based on Lyapunov theory.In addition,adaptive inertial weight particle swarm optimization algorithm(AIWPSO)is applied to optimize the gain of each potential field function.The co-simulation results indicate that the comprehensive evaluation index respecting lane tracking accuracy and lateral stability is reduced remarkably.Finally,the proposed control strategy is verified by the HiL test.It provides a beneficial reference for dynamics control of commercial vehicles and enriches the theoretical development and practical application of artificial potential field method in the field of intelligent driving.展开更多
Airplanes are a social necessity for movement of humans,goods,and other.They are generally safe modes of transportation;however,incidents and accidents occasionally occur.To prevent aviation accidents,it is necessary ...Airplanes are a social necessity for movement of humans,goods,and other.They are generally safe modes of transportation;however,incidents and accidents occasionally occur.To prevent aviation accidents,it is necessary to develop a machine-learning model to detect and predict commercial flights using automatic dependent surveillance–broadcast data.This study combined data-quality detection,anomaly detection,and abnormality-classification-model development.The research methodology involved the following stages:problem statement,data selection and labeling,prediction-model development,deployment,and testing.The data labeling process was based on the rules framed by the international civil aviation organization for commercial,jet-engine flights and validated by expert commercial pilots.The results showed that the best prediction model,the quadratic-discriminant-analysis,was 93%accurate,indicating a“good fit”.Moreover,the model’s area-under-the-curve results for abnormal and normal detection were 0.97 and 0.96,respectively,thus confirming its“good fit”.展开更多
The building sector plays a crucial role in the worldwide shift toward achieving net-zero emissions.Building energy efficiency standards(BEESs)are highly effective policies for reducing carbon emissions.Therefore,expl...The building sector plays a crucial role in the worldwide shift toward achieving net-zero emissions.Building energy efficiency standards(BEESs)are highly effective policies for reducing carbon emissions.Therefore,exploring the provincial variations in carbon emission efficiency(CEE)in the building sector and identifying the effect of BEESs on CEE is crucial.This study focuses on commercial buildings in China and applies a difference in differences model to evaluate the impact of BEESs on the CEE of commercial buildings.The slacks-based measure–data envelopment analysis model is employed to assess the CEE of commercial buildings in 30 Chinese provinces from 2000 to 2019.Furthermore,heterogeneous tests are used to explore how climate characteristics and economic conditions affect the efficiency of BEESs.The results indicate that BEESs positively influence the CEE of commercial buildings.Specifically,a 1%increase in the intensity of BEESs causes a 0.1484%increase in the CEE of commercial buildings.Moreover,the impact of BEESs is particularly pronounced in the southern and western provinces.This study provides valuable scientific evidence for governments to enhance BEESs implementation.展开更多
Multi-pass ultrasonic impact treatment(UIT)was applied to modify the microstructure and improve the mechanical and tribological characteristics at the near-surface region of commercially pure Ti(CP-Ti)specimens produc...Multi-pass ultrasonic impact treatment(UIT)was applied to modify the microstructure and improve the mechanical and tribological characteristics at the near-surface region of commercially pure Ti(CP-Ti)specimens produced by the laser powder bed fusion(L-PBF)method.UIT considerably refined the L-PBF process-related acicular martensites(α′-M)and produced a well-homogenized and dense surface microstructure,where the porosity content of 1-,3-,and 5-pass UITed samples was reduced by 43,60,and 67%,respectively.The UITed samples showed an enhancement in their near-surface mechanical properties up to a depth of about 300μm.The nanoindentation results for the 3-pass UITed sample revealed an increase of about 53,45,and 220%in its nanohardness,H/E_(r),and H_(3)/E_(r)^(2)indices,respectively.The stylus profilometry results showed that performing the UIT removed the L-PBF-related features/defects and offered a smooth surface.The roughness average(R_(a))and the skewness(R_(sk))of the 3-pass UITed sample were found to be lower than those of the L-PBFed sample by 95 and 223%,respectively.Applying the UIT also enhanced the material ratio,where the maximum load-bearing capacity(~100%)in as-L-PBFed(as-built)and 3-pass UITed samples was obtained at 60-and 10-µm depths,respectively.The tribological investigations showed that applying the UIT resulted in a significant reduction of wear rate and average coefficient of friction(COF)of CP-Ti.For instance,under the normal pressures of 0.05 and 0.2 MPa,the wear rate and COF of the 3-pass UITed sample were lower than those of the L-PBFed sample by 65 and 58%,and 20 and 17%,respectively.展开更多

Traditional fire extinguishing systems, while effective, may have limitations in terms of response time, coverage, and human intervention [1]. This study investigates the efficacy of a novel fire suppression technology—the Exploding Fire Extinguishing Ball (EFEB) —as an alternative and complementary fire safety solution for commercial vehicles. The research employs a multidisciplinary approach, encompassing engineering, materials science, fire safety, and human factors analysis. A systematic literature review establishes a comprehensive understanding of existing fire suppression technologies, including EFEBs. Subsequently, this study analyzes the unique features of EFEBs, such as automatic activation, as well as manual activation upon exposure to fire, and their potential to provide rapid, localized, and autonomous fire suppression. The study presents original experimental investigations to assess the performance and effectiveness of EFEBs in various fire scenarios representative of commercial vehicles. Experiments include controlled fires in confined spaces and dynamic simulations to emulate real-world fire incidents. Data on activation times, extinguishing capability, and coverage area are collected and analyzed to compare the efficacy of EFEBs with traditional fire extinguishing methods. Furthermore, this research shows the practical aspects of implementing EFEBs in commercial vehicles. A feasibility study examines the integration challenges, cost-benefit analysis, and potential regulatory implications. The study also addresses the impact of EFEBs on vehicle weight, stability, and overall safety. Human factors and user acceptance are crucial elements in adopting new safety technologies. Therefore, this research utilizes an experimental design to assess the performance and effectiveness of EFEBs in various fire scenarios representative of commercial vehicles. This dissertation presents original controlled experiments to emulate real-world fire incidents, including controlled fires in confined spaces and dynamic simulations. The experimental approach ensures rigorous evaluation and objective insights into EFEBs’ potential as an autonomous fire suppression system for commercial vehicles. This includes the perspectives of drivers, passengers, fleet operators, insurance agencies, and regulatory bodies. Factors influencing trust, perceived safety, and willingness to adopt EFEBs are analyzed to provide insights into the successful integration of this technology. 文摘With rising consumer spending power and growing demand for personalization,the role of jewelry designers in product innovation and brand building has become increasingly prominent,and the realization of their commercial value has emerged as a key competitive driver in the industry.This paper employs a combination of literature review and case analysis to first define the connotation and evaluation dimensions of jewelry designers’commercial value.Next,it examines successful practices of representative designers at home and abroad,analyzing their core strategies in brand development,market positioning,channel collaboration,and innovation models.Finally,based on these findings,it proposes a systematic path for building personal brands,deepening value‐chain collaboration,and exploring cross-field innovation.The study demonstrates that effective brand building and differentiated positioning can significantly enhance a designer’s bargaining power,while coordinated upstream–downstream value-chain efforts and diverse innovation models—spanning technology and culture—provide vital support for sustained growth in commercial value.This paper aims to offer actionable strategic frameworks for industry practitioners and decision makers and to outline directions for future research.

文摘This study aims to examine the challenges and future directions of large-scale wooden construction education at universities in Japan and Finland.It compares the wooden construction curricula at universities and the architectural education initiatives undertaken by firms specializing in large-scale wood construction design in both countries.The target applications for large-scale wooden construction are residential,commercial,and public buildings.Comparing university education revealed many commonalities between the two countries,allowing them to be classified into two types:“seminar-centered”and“lecture-centered”.Japanese universities are categorized by building type and scale for educational purposes.Finnish universities focus their education on the properties and functions of wood.Based on these results,we infer that incorporating both Japan’s architecture-planning-focused education and Finland’s materials-focused education into teaching,using familiar housing buildings as a theme,will lead to the wider adoption of large-scale wooden construction.

文摘Commercial data and intellectual property(IP)rights cover similar objects,sharing a consistent theoretical foundation and compatible institutional goals.This suggests the IP system is potentially adaptable for protecting commercial data.However,unlike the type-based objects of IP,commercial data demonstrates distinct characteristics in terms of property form,interest appeals,and value connotations.These differences pose difficulties in applying the current IP system to the protection of commercial data,necessitating a new institutional approach.Nevertheless,to improve the legal protection for commercial data,principles from established IP doctrines and regulatory designs can be adapted,including incentivizing property rights,facilitating market circulation,unlocking data's value as a production factor,and balancing competing interests.

文摘Polar microalgae are microscopic organisms adapted to survive in cold and extreme habitats such as sea-ice,glaciers,lakes and snow.These microorganisms provide an essential basis as primary food sources in polar ecosystems.Despite their ecological importance,polar microalgae remain relatively unexplored compared to their tropical and temperate counterparts,largely due to the practical challenges of obtaining and maintaining material from the harsh polar environments.However,interest has recently surged due to their specific adaptations and potential for utilization in various fields.This review explores the survival strategies of polar microalgae and their commercial applications in healthcare and other fields.We also consider the processes involved in processing polar microalgae,from cultivation to extraction of bioactive compounds.Our findings highlight a growing need for research in this rapidly evolving field to unlock the potential of polar microalgae in multiple fields.

文摘The traditional nanozymes-based ratiometric fluorescence sensing platforms usually necessitate the supplementary addition of fluorescent probes,therefore greatly restricting its convenient and broad application.In this study,a highly sensitive and selective ratiometric fluorescence platform for alkaline phosphatase(ALP)detection was established,only employing Prussian blue(PB)nanozymes and a commercially available chromogen of o-phenylenediamine(OPD).PB nanozymes with remarkable peroxidaselike(POD-like)activity can effectively catalyze OPD chromogen to yield 2,3-diaminophenazine(OPDox)with an intense yellow fluorescence at 573 nm emission peak.Target ALP can facilitate ascorbic acid 2-phosphate(AAP)dephosphorylation to generate phosphate and ascorbic acid(AA).Significantly,both these two resultant hydrolysis products could effectively decrease the OPDox generation via a dualpath based inhibition on the PB nanozymes POD-like activity.On the other hand,the generated dehydroascorbic acid(DHAA)from AA oxidation would exclusively react with OPD chromogen to yield3-(dihydroxyethyl)furo[3,4-b]quinoxaline-1-one(DFQ)with a strong blue fluorescent signal at 434nm,which further providing a significant enhancement on the sensing selectivity of ALP detection.As a result,an increased yellow fluorescence of OPDox and decreased blue fluorescence of DFQ could be clearly observed with different ALP addition.A robust linear relationship between the fluorescence ratio of F_(434)/F_(573)and ALP activity ranging from 0.25U/L to 6U/L was obtained,with a low detection limit of 0.112 U/L.This proposed method demonstrates high sensitivity,excellent selectivity,cost-effectiveness,and operational simplicity,yet enabling an effective detection of ALP levels in human serum.

文摘Solid-state batteries are commonly acknowledged as the forthcoming evolution in energy storage technologies.Recent development progress for these rechargeable batteries has notably accelerated their trajectory toward achieving commercial feasibility.In particular,all-solid-state lithium-sulfur batteries(ASSLSBs)that rely on lithium-sulfur reversible redox processes exhibit immense potential as an energy storage system,surpassing conventional lithium-ion batteries.This can be attributed predominantly to their exceptional energy density,extended operational lifespan,and heightened safety attributes.Despite these advantages,the adoption of ASSLSBs in the commercial sector has been sluggish.To expedite research and development in this particular area,this article provides a thorough review of the current state of ASSLSBs.We delve into an in-depth analysis of the rationale behind transitioning to ASSLSBs,explore the fundamental scientific principles involved,and provide a comprehensive evaluation of the main challenges faced by ASSLSBs.We suggest that future research in this field should prioritize plummeting the presence of inactive substances,adopting electrodes with optimum performance,minimizing interfacial resistance,and designing a scalable fabrication approach to facilitate the commercialization of ASSLSBs.

文摘Regarding the lane keeping system,path tracking accuracy and lateral stability at high speeds need to be taken into account especially for commercial vehicles due to the characteristics of larger mass,longer wheelbase and higher mass center.To improve the performance mentioned above comprehensively,the control strategy based on improved artificial potential field(APF)algorithm is proposed.In the paper,time to lane crossing(TLC)is introduced into the potential field function to enhance the accuracy of path tracking,meanwhile the vehicle dynamics parameters including yaw rate and lateral acceleration are chosen as the repulsive force field source.The lane keeping controller based on improved APF algorithm is designed and the stability of the control system is proved based on Lyapunov theory.In addition,adaptive inertial weight particle swarm optimization algorithm(AIWPSO)is applied to optimize the gain of each potential field function.The co-simulation results indicate that the comprehensive evaluation index respecting lane tracking accuracy and lateral stability is reduced remarkably.Finally,the proposed control strategy is verified by the HiL test.It provides a beneficial reference for dynamics control of commercial vehicles and enriches the theoretical development and practical application of artificial potential field method in the field of intelligent driving.
文摘Airplanes are a social necessity for movement of humans,goods,and other.They are generally safe modes of transportation;however,incidents and accidents occasionally occur.To prevent aviation accidents,it is necessary to develop a machine-learning model to detect and predict commercial flights using automatic dependent surveillance–broadcast data.This study combined data-quality detection,anomaly detection,and abnormality-classification-model development.The research methodology involved the following stages:problem statement,data selection and labeling,prediction-model development,deployment,and testing.The data labeling process was based on the rules framed by the international civil aviation organization for commercial,jet-engine flights and validated by expert commercial pilots.The results showed that the best prediction model,the quadratic-discriminant-analysis,was 93%accurate,indicating a“good fit”.Moreover,the model’s area-under-the-curve results for abnormal and normal detection were 0.97 and 0.96,respectively,thus confirming its“good fit”.

文摘The building sector plays a crucial role in the worldwide shift toward achieving net-zero emissions.Building energy efficiency standards(BEESs)are highly effective policies for reducing carbon emissions.Therefore,exploring the provincial variations in carbon emission efficiency(CEE)in the building sector and identifying the effect of BEESs on CEE is crucial.This study focuses on commercial buildings in China and applies a difference in differences model to evaluate the impact of BEESs on the CEE of commercial buildings.The slacks-based measure–data envelopment analysis model is employed to assess the CEE of commercial buildings in 30 Chinese provinces from 2000 to 2019.Furthermore,heterogeneous tests are used to explore how climate characteristics and economic conditions affect the efficiency of BEESs.The results indicate that BEESs positively influence the CEE of commercial buildings.Specifically,a 1%increase in the intensity of BEESs causes a 0.1484%increase in the CEE of commercial buildings.Moreover,the impact of BEESs is particularly pronounced in the southern and western provinces.This study provides valuable scientific evidence for governments to enhance BEESs implementation.
文摘Multi-pass ultrasonic impact treatment(UIT)was applied to modify the microstructure and improve the mechanical and tribological characteristics at the near-surface region of commercially pure Ti(CP-Ti)specimens produced by the laser powder bed fusion(L-PBF)method.UIT considerably refined the L-PBF process-related acicular martensites(α′-M)and produced a well-homogenized and dense surface microstructure,where the porosity content of 1-,3-,and 5-pass UITed samples was reduced by 43,60,and 67%,respectively.The UITed samples showed an enhancement in their near-surface mechanical properties up to a depth of about 300μm.The nanoindentation results for the 3-pass UITed sample revealed an increase of about 53,45,and 220%in its nanohardness,H/E_(r),and H_(3)/E_(r)^(2)indices,respectively.The stylus profilometry results showed that performing the UIT removed the L-PBF-related features/defects and offered a smooth surface.The roughness average(R_(a))and the skewness(R_(sk))of the 3-pass UITed sample were found to be lower than those of the L-PBFed sample by 95 and 223%,respectively.Applying the UIT also enhanced the material ratio,where the maximum load-bearing capacity(~100%)in as-L-PBFed(as-built)and 3-pass UITed samples was obtained at 60-and 10-µm depths,respectively.The tribological investigations showed that applying the UIT resulted in a significant reduction of wear rate and average coefficient of friction(COF)of CP-Ti.For instance,under the normal pressures of 0.05 and 0.2 MPa,the wear rate and COF of the 3-pass UITed sample were lower than those of the L-PBFed sample by 65 and 58%,and 20 and 17%,respectively.
文摘Fire incidents in commercial vehicles pose significant risks to passengers, drivers, and cargo. Traditional fire extinguishing systems, while effective, may have limitations in terms of response time, coverage, and human intervention [1]. This study investigates the efficacy of a novel fire suppression technology—the Exploding Fire Extinguishing Ball (EFEB) —as an alternative and complementary fire safety solution for commercial vehicles. The research employs a multidisciplinary approach, encompassing engineering, materials science, fire safety, and human factors analysis. A systematic literature review establishes a comprehensive understanding of existing fire suppression technologies, including EFEBs. Subsequently, this study analyzes the unique features of EFEBs, such as automatic activation, as well as manual activation upon exposure to fire, and their potential to provide rapid, localized, and autonomous fire suppression. The study presents original experimental investigations to assess the performance and effectiveness of EFEBs in various fire scenarios representative of commercial vehicles. Experiments include controlled fires in confined spaces and dynamic simulations to emulate real-world fire incidents. Data on activation times, extinguishing capability, and coverage area are collected and analyzed to compare the efficacy of EFEBs with traditional fire extinguishing methods. Furthermore, this research shows the practical aspects of implementing EFEBs in commercial vehicles. A feasibility study examines the integration challenges, cost-benefit analysis, and potential regulatory implications. The study also addresses the impact of EFEBs on vehicle weight, stability, and overall safety. Human factors and user acceptance are crucial elements in adopting new safety technologies. Therefore, this research utilizes an experimental design to assess the performance and effectiveness of EFEBs in various fire scenarios representative of commercial vehicles. This dissertation presents original controlled experiments to emulate real-world fire incidents, including controlled fires in confined spaces and dynamic simulations. The experimental approach ensures rigorous evaluation and objective insights into EFEBs’ potential as an autonomous fire suppression system for commercial vehicles. This includes the perspectives of drivers, passengers, fleet operators, insurance agencies, and regulatory bodies. Factors influencing trust, perceived safety, and willingness to adopt EFEBs are analyzed to provide insights into the successful integration of this technology. The findings of this research will contribute to the knowledge of fire safety technology and expand the understanding of the applicability of EFEBs in commercial vehicles.
