In this work,five kinds of crystals were successfully synthesized using the Czochralski method for the first time,namely Dy∶Ca_(3)Li_(0.275)Nb_(1.775)Ga_(2.95)O_(12)(CLNGG),Dy,Tb∶CLNGG,Dy,Eu∶CLNGG,Tb∶CLNGG,and Eu∶CLNGG.A detailed investigation of spectral features and energy transfer mechanisms in such crystals was conducted by analyzing their optical absorption spectra,excitation and emission spectra,and fluorescence decay curves at ambient tem-perature.Calculations based on the Judd-Ofelt theory further elucidated these features.The results demonstrate that in the Dy^(3+)system,co-doping with Tb^(3+)and Eu^(3+)ions not only enhances the emission cross-sections in the yellow wavelength re-gion but also improves the fluorescence quantum efficiency.These improvements are particularly beneficial for achieving efficient yellow light output from Dy^(3+).Additionally,the studies confirm the occurrence of reciprocal energy transfer be-tween Dy^(3+)and Tb^(3+)ions in Dy,Tb∶CLNGG crystals,whereas unidirectional energy transfer from Dy^(3+)to Eu^(3+)occurs in Dy,Eu∶CLNGG crystals.Based on the obtained research results,Dy,Tb∶CLNGG and Dy,Eu∶CLNGG crystals could be utilized as compelling and potential laser media for diode-pumped all-solid-state yellow lasers. 展开更多

Visible and near-infrared optical properties of Nd:CLNGG crystal waveguides formed by proton implantation

A Nd:CLNGG waveguide structure operated at wavelengths of both 632.8 nm and 1539 nm was demonstrated for the first time to our knowledge, which was produced by the 480-keV H+ ion implantation with a dose of 1.0× 10^17 protons/cm2, Its propagating modes at 632.8 nm and 1539 nm were measured by the well-known prism coupling technique. The refractive index profile at either 632.8-nm wavelength or 1539-nm wavelength was optical barrier type in the proton-implanted Nd:CLNGG crystal optical waveguide, which was calculated by using the reflectivity calculation method. The near-field light intensity distributions were also simulated by the finite-difference beam propagation method in the visible and nearinfrared bands. 展开更多

With MoS2 as saturable absorber, passive Q-switching and Q-switched mode-locking operations of a Tm-doped calcium lithium niobium gallium garnet(Tm:CLNGG) laser were experimentally demonstrated. The Q-switched laser emitted a maximum average output power of 62 mW and highest pulse energy of 0.72 μJ. Q-switched mode locking was also obtained in the experiment. The research results will open up applications of MoS2 at the mid-infrared wavelength. 展开更多

采用提拉法成功生长了一系列不同掺杂浓度的Yb^(3+)∶Ca_(3)Li_(0.275)Nb_(1.775)Ga_(2.95)O_(12)(Yb^(3+)∶CLNGG)激光晶体,并对其结构、光谱和激光性能进行了系统研究。X射线衍射结果表明,晶体衍射峰与标准卡特征峰一致,未发现杂相生... 采用提拉法成功生长了一系列不同掺杂浓度的Yb^(3+)∶Ca_(3)Li_(0.275)Nb_(1.775)Ga_(2.95)O_(12)(Yb^(3+)∶CLNGG)激光晶体,并对其结构、光谱和激光性能进行了系统研究。X射线衍射结果表明,晶体衍射峰与标准卡特征峰一致,未发现杂相生成。吸收光谱和发射光谱分析显示,Yb^(3+)∶CLNGG晶体在近红外区具有宽吸收带和发射带,10%Yb^(3+)∶CLNGG吸收半峰全宽可达37 nm,发射带宽达40 nm,5%Yb^(3+)∶CLNGG发射截面最大可达1.398×10^(-20) cm^(2),荧光寿命随掺杂浓度升高而增长,10%Yb^(3+)∶CLNGG晶体在室温下寿命超过1 ms。低温发射光谱中观察到多个Stark分裂峰,反映出Yb^(3+)所处晶体场的非等效多中心环境,表明其发光行为具有明显的协同特征。在Kerr锁模条件下,10%Yb^(3+)∶CLNGG晶体实现了中心波长为1058 nm、脉宽为67 fs、带宽为17.7 nm、平均功率35 mW、峰值功率约6.87 kW的稳定飞秒激光输出,展现出良好的锁模稳定性和宽带增益特性。综合光谱与激光实验结果表明,Yb^(3+)∶CLNGG晶体在超快激光和宽带调谐激光器领域具有显著应用潜力。 展开更多
