A new process to synthesize polycrystalline samples of Sr14Cu24O41 was presented. Firstly, dry gel powder of Sr14Cu24O41 was synthesized by the citrates sol-gel method, using Sr(NO3)2, Cu(NO3)2, ethylene glycol and citrate acid as raw materials. Then, polycrystalline samples of Sr14Cu24O41 were prepared by solid-state reaction. Thermal Gravimetric and Differential Thermal Analysis(TG-DTA) showed that the temperature for solid-state reaction is at 942 ℃. The samples are identified to be single phase by X-ray Diffraction(XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM). The SEM pictures showed that the first-step particles were at even size of about 100 nm by this technique. The electronic transport measurements showed that the doping compound were semiconductor with a crossover temperature T in the Arrhenius plot of the resistivity versus temprature. 展开更多

Efficacy of clomiphene citrate and tamoxifen on pregnancy rates in idiopathic male subfertility:A systematic review and meta-analysis 被引量:1

Objective Selective estrogen receptor modulators(SERMs)have demonstrated efficacy in the treatment of hypogonadism in males and male factor infertility.Two SERMs,clomiphene citrate and tamoxifen,are now prescribed for off-label use to treat both conditions in males.However,existing literature compares mixed protocols with active management.We aimed to conduct a meta-analysis to evaluate the effect of clomiphene and tamoxifen versus placebo on natural pregnancy rates.Methods We conducted a comprehensive systematic review of electronic databases:MEDLINE,PubMed/PMC,EMBASE,CINAHL,Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials(CENTRAL),Scopus,Google Scholar,and Web of Science.Articles satisfying all selection criteria were analyzed.The primary outcome was the incidence of pregnancy after receiving the treatment.Secondary outcomes included serum follicle-stimulating hormone,luteinizing hormone,and testosterone levels,and sperm count and motility.We calculated the pooled odds ratio,risk ratio,and risk difference to ascertain possible alterations in the direction of the pooled effect size.Results Ten randomized controlled trials were ultimately included and underwent data extraction.Clomiphene citrate and placebo groups had similar pregnancy rates(10.4%and 7.1%,respectively;odds ratio 1.30[95%confidence interval 0.27–6.17];p=0.74).No meta-analysis could be calculated for pregnancy rates in tamoxifen versus placebo groups.Heterogeneity among the studies of both SERMs ranged from low to high.Conclusion Although clomiphene citrate and tamoxifen are often used off-label for the treatment of male infertility secondary to hypogonadism,studies of SERMs in the treatment of idiopathic male factor infertility are limited and heterogenous,preventing this meta-analysis from investigating the efficacy of SERMs on male infertility.The effect of clomiphene citrate or tamoxifen on the pregnancy rate remains uncertain. 展开更多

Background:Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is a liver disorder characterized by the accumulation and degeneration of fat in the liver cells,a condition that may further deteriorate and lead to cirrhosis and liver cancer.Numerous studies showed that metabolic dysfunction can promote NAFLD development.Linggui Zhugan Decoction(LGZGD)has therapeutic effects on NAFLD.The mechanism of LGZGD still remains unclear.This study was to examine the impact of LGZGD on the metabolic processes involved in the development of NAFLD.Methods:A mice model of NAFLD was treated with LGZGD.The therapeutic potential of LGZGD was evaluated by assessing the activity of transaminases,lipids levels of blood,and pathological changes in the liver of the mice model of NAFLD.Additionally,this study also evaluated the influence of LGZGD on liver inflammation and oxidative stress.Results:The results of untargeted metabolomics analysis showed that LGZGD reduced the disordered lipid metabolism in NAFLD mice.LGZGD improved the oxidative stress and also reduced the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines in the liver.Untargeted metabolomics analysis of liver samples revealed that LGZGD treatment improved metabolic disorders,including alanine,aspartate,glutamate,glycerophospholipid metabolism,and citrate cycle.Further RT-qPCR and Western blot results showed that LGZGD could regulate the expression of key enzymes in the metabolic pathway of the citrate cycle,including ATP-citrate lyase(ACLY),alanine-glyoxylate aminotransferase-2(AGXT2),phosphatidylethanolamine N-methyltransferase(PEMT),and succinate dehydrogenase(SDH).Conclusion:We found that LGZGD can treat NAFLD by reducing inflammatory responses,inhibiting oxidative stress,regulating alanine,aspartate,glutamate,and glycerophospholipid metabolism,and citrate cycle pathways. 展开更多

Developing rechargeable aqueous Zn batteries for large-scale energy storage is impeded by inadequate reversibility and stability of the Zn anode,primarily caused by parasitic reactions and heterogeneous deposition.This study proposes an economical electrolyte strategy to address these Zn-related issues.The addition of a supporting salt enhances the thermodynamic stability of water,reduces the number of highly reactive water molecules,and modulates the interfacial electrostatic interaction.This approach effectively suppresses hydrogen evolution reaction and uncontrolled deposition.Remarkably,the rationally proportioned electrolyte allows a high average Coulombic efficiency of 99.93%for 1000 cycles in a Zn‖Cu battery and a prolonged lifespan exceeding 4800 h in Zn‖Zn cells.The knock-on effect is that Zn‖MnO_(2)pouch cells deliver stable cycling performance,demonstrating the viability of this approach for practical applications. 展开更多

Transcriptome analysis reveals the common and specific pathways of citric acid accumulation in different citrus species

Citric acid is an important contributor to fruit flavor.The extremely significant differences in citric acid levels are observed among citrus species and varieties.The molecular basis of citric acid accumulation remains largely unknown on the inter-species level.Here,we performed transcriptome analysis of five pairs of acidic and acidless variety fruits from kumquat(Citrus crassifolia),lemon(C.limon),pummelo(C.maxima),mandarin(C.reticulata),and sweet orange(C.sinensis)to investigate the common and specific genes related to citric acid accumulation in these citrus species.Transcript profiles of the citrate metabolism genes revealed that the mechanism of citric acid accumulation in kumquat differed from that in the other four species.The comparative analysis and weighted gene co-expression network analysis identified 61 candidate genes from lemon,pummelo,mandarin,and sweet orange.Vacuolar acidification regulated by CitPH4-CitAN1-CitPH5was a common mechanism underlying citric acid accumulation in these four species.In addition,gene network analysis indicated that CitPH4 was a central regulator,exhibiting a strong correlation with the genes involved in vacuolar trafficking and potassium(K^(+))transport.The co-expression and functional enrichment analyses showed that active sugar metabolism and increased citrate synthesis were mainly responsible for the accumulation of citric acid in kumquat.Twenty-four transcription factors were identified as candidate regulators,of which CitbHLH28 was found to regulate acidity level via transactivating CWINV2 and PK3 expressions.Overall,this study provides an insight into the mechanism of citric acid accumulation in citrus fruit and provides useful references for fruit quality improvement through acidity control in different citrus species. 展开更多

Poly(octamethylene citrate)(POC)is a promising bioelastomer material in the biomedical field.However,its thermosetting nature poses a significant challenge to processing and molding,especially manufacturing the POC-based elastomer particles as potential,degradable and toughened fillers.Firstly,a Pickering emulsion with a pre-polymer(pre-POC)solution in dimethyl carbonate as a dispersed oil phase,a Pullulan(PUL)aqueous solution as a continuous water phase,and chitin nanocrystal(ChiNC)as a particle-type emulsifier was constructed.Secondly,the POC-based core/shell structured microspheres were prepared by spray-drying of the emulsions,and characterized by a scanning electron microscope and a transmission electron microscope.Finally,the POC-based core/shell structured microspheres were used as elastomer fillers to strengthen and toughen a chitosan film,resulting in 26%increase in the tensile strength and 45%increase in the strain at break;the POC-based core/shell structured microsphere as a double-layer drug release system was built in which the hydrophilic drug of tetracycline hydrochloride(TCH)was released from the outer layer and the hydrophobic drug of curcumin was released from the inner layer,roughly following the Ritger-Peppas model. 展开更多

Electrochemical conversion of hypertoxic trivalent arsenic to value-added metallic arsenic can not only contribute to pollution abatement,but also resources reutilization,therefore being widely explored.Electrochemical reduction of trivalent arsenic as a promising way is widely explored.However,the high efficiency conversion is retarded by the sluggish reduction kinetics of AsO33−and fierce evolution of side products of both H_(2)and toxic AsH_(3).Herein,by using the sodium citrate as the additive,the current efficiency for metal arsenic production is increased greatly from 60%to 91%,with the accompanied evolution of hypertoxic AsH_(3)being restrained from 0.15 Nm^(3)/t_(As)to 0.022 Nm^(3)/t_(As),promising a high-efficiency and green process.The electrochemical tests and electrode surface characterizations aswell as DFT calculations indicate that the added sodium citrate promotes both the diffusion of reactive AsO_(3)^(3−)towards the cathode and its subsequent adsorption on the Ti cathode,contributing to smoother reduction for generating metal arsenic,with the evolution of toxic AsH_(3)being hindered at the same time.The results can provide new insights for the highefficiency and greener conversion of hypertoxic trivalent arsenic to value-added metallic arsenic. 展开更多

Iron is an essential nutrient for plant growth,development,and disease resistance.Plants absorb iron through their roots,with citrate playing a key role in xylem transport of insoluble Fe3+.In this study,we identified the cytoplasmic ATP-citrate lyase(ACL)subunit A2 in rice(Oryza sativa L.),OsACL-A2(Os12g0566300),as a critical factor for iron uptake and transport.The osacl-a2 mutant exhibited reduced leaf iron levels,leading to iron deficiency-induced chlorosis,activated defense signaling,and eventual necrosis in mature leaves.Additionally,blast resistance was weakened in immature osacl-a2 leaves.Exogenous iron supplementation rescued these defects.The mutant displayed reduced ATP-citrate lyase activity but increased citric acid levels compared with its wild type(WT),suggesting that the osacl-a2 mutation impairs enzyme activity.Thus,OsACL-A2-mediated citrate lyase activity plays a vital role in promoting iron uptake and associated blast resistance in rice. 展开更多

Platinum nanoparticles supported on carbons(Pt/C,60%,mass fraction) electrocatalysts for direct methanol fuel cell(DMFC) were prepared by citrate-stabilized method with different reductants and carbon supports.The catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and cyclic voltammetry(CV).It is found that the size of Pt nanoparticles on carbon is controllable by citrate addition and reductant optimization,and the form of carbon support has a great influence on electrocatalytic activity of catalysts.The citrate-stabilized Pt nanoparticles supported on BP2000 carbon,which was reduced by formaldehyde,exhibit the best performance with about 2 nm in diameter and 66.46 m2/g(Pt) in electrocatalytic active surface(EAS) area.Test on single DMFC with 60%(mass fraction) Pt/BP2000 as cathode electrocatalyst showed maximum power density at 78.8 mW/cm2. 展开更多

Effects of citrate concentration and pH on the electrochemical reduction process of Co(Ⅱ) were investigated by cyclic voltammetry(CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS). The results show that Co(Ⅱ) is reduced into two species which are free Co2+ and [Co(C6H607)] in the solution composed of 0.05 mol/L CoS04·5H2O, 0.20 mol/L Na2SO4 and 0-0.40 mol/L C6H5O7Na3·2H2O in the pH range of 3-9. The reduction behavior depends on the pH of the solution. Co(H) is mainly reduced into the form of free Co^2+ at pH 3 and into the form of [Co(C6H6O7)] at the pH range of 4-6 in citrate solution. The [Co(C6H6O7)] is first reduced to an intermediate state and then to Co°. Adsorption of the intermediate state exists on the surface of the electrode. Co(Ⅱ) is difficult to be reduced in the solution with the pH above 7, because the existing Co(Ⅱ)-citrate complex species [Co(C6H5O7)]- and [Co(C6H4O7)]2- are more difficult to be reduced than the hydrogen ion. 展开更多

Objective Intracellular formation of Lewy body (LB) is one of the hallmarks of Parkinson’s disease.The main component of LB is aggregatedα-synuclein,present in the substantia nigra where iron accumulation also occurs.The present study was aimed to study the relationship between iron andα-synuclein aggregation.Methods SK-N-SH cells were treated with different concentrations of ferric iron for 24 h or 48 h.MTT assay was conducted to determine the cell viability. Thioflavine S staining was used to detectα-synuclein aggregation.Results With the increase of iron concentration,the cell viability decreased significantly.At the concentrations of 5 mmol/L and 10 mmol/L,iron inducedα-synuclein aggregation more severely than at the concentration of 1 mmol/L.Besides,48-h treatment-induced aggregation was more severe than that induced by 24-h treatment,at the corresponding iron concentrations.Conclusion Ferric iron can induceα-synuclein aggregation,which is toxic to the cells,in a dose-and time-dependent way. 展开更多

Silver nanoplates,with average thickness about 5 nm and average tunable size from 40 to 500 nm,were synthesized via a simple room-temperature solution-phase chemical reduction method in the presence of appropriate concentration of trisodium citrate and silver seeds.The optical in-plane dipole plasmon resonance bands of these silver plates could be tuned from 520 to 1100 nm.Control experiments were explored for understanding of the growth mechanism.It is found that both the amount of citrate ions and the small silver seeds added to the growth solution are the key to controlling the silver nanoplates without changing their thickness and crystal structure.Small silver seeds are found to play an important role in the formation of large thin silver nanoplates when poly(vinylpyrrolidone)(PVP) are used as capping agent. 展开更多

Objective:To investigate the larvicidal and repellent properties of essential oils from various parts of four plant species Cymbopogan citrates,Cinnamomum zeylanicum,Rosmarinus of ficinalis and Zingiber of ficinale against Culex tritaeniorhynchus(Cx.tritaeniorhynchus) and Anopheles subpictus(An.subpktus).Methods:Essential oils were obtained by hydro-distillation method.The mosquitoes were reared in the vector control laboratory and twenty five late third ins tar larvae of Cx.tritaeniorhynchus and An.subpictus were exposed to based on the wide range and narrow range test,essential oil tested at various concentrations ranging from 25 to 250 ppm.The larval mortality was observed after 24 h under the laboratory conditions.The repellent efficacy was determined against two mosquito species at three concentrations viz., 1.0,2.5 and 5.0 mg/cm<sup>2</sup> under laboratory conditions.Results:Results showed all the four plant essential oil produced significant larval mortality against two mosquito species.However,the highest larvicidal activity was observed in the essential oil from Zingiber of ficinale against Cx. tritaeniorhynchus and An.subpktus with the LC<sub>50</sub> and LC<sub>90</sub> values as 98.83,57.98 ppm and 186.55, 104.23 ppm,respectively.All the four essential oil shows significant repellency against Cx. tritaeniorhynchus than An.subpktus.Among four essential oil tested the highest repellency was observed in Zingiber of ficinale,a higher concentration of 5.0 mg/cm<sup>2</sup> provided 100%protection up to 150 and 180 min against Cx.tritaeniorhynchus and An.subpktus,respectively.Conclusions: In this work,it can be concluded that four essential oils which were distilled from Cymbopogan citrates,Cinnamomum zeylanicum,Rosmarinus of ficinalis and Zingiber of ficinale showed promising larvicidal and repellent agent against Cx.tritaeniorhynchus and An.subpktus. 展开更多

近二十多年来,多种因素导致临床上侵袭性真菌感染的发病率不断上升,在各种疾病治疗过程中过多使用化学治疗或放射治疗,使机体免疫功能受到损伤或出现缺陷,增加了真菌感染的发病率。侵袭性真菌感染主要是真菌侵入患者的机体,侵袭各个组... 近二十多年来,多种因素导致临床上侵袭性真菌感染的发病率不断上升,在各种疾病治疗过程中过多使用化学治疗或放射治疗,使机体免疫功能受到损伤或出现缺陷,增加了真菌感染的发病率。侵袭性真菌感染主要是真菌侵入患者的机体,侵袭各个组织、器官和血液系统,导致患者出现严重的炎症反应和组织损伤。而抗侵袭性真菌感染的新药研发远不能满足临床治疗的需要。二十多年来临床上使用的安全有效品种主要是三唑类、多烯类及棘白菌素等3类药物,并且受到耐药性和不良反应等因素的制约,研发新型抗真菌药已迫在眉睫。2002年6月,美国Scynexis制药公司研制的Ibrexafungerp(艾瑞芬净)是具有全新作用机制的新一代三萜类抗真菌新药,靶向β-1,3-葡聚糖合酶,破坏其完整的细胞壁,直接杀灭真菌细胞。该公司最初与美国默克公司签订许可协议,授予默克公司在全球独家开发权;在2013年5月,Scynexis制药公司要求修改合作协议,收回对该产品的开发和商业化权,答应支付默克公司阶段性补偿款和专利权使用费。2013年9月,Scynexis制药公司与俄罗斯制药商R-Pharm公司签订在俄罗斯和土耳其开发艾瑞芬净及其商业化的协议。2021年2月,中国江苏豪森药业公司与Scynexis制药公司签订在大中华区合作开发艾瑞芬净及其商业化的协议。2020年10月14日Scynexis制药公司向美国食品药品管理局(FDA)提出枸橼酸艾瑞芬净片剂上市申请,该品曾获得罕用药、快速通道、合格感染疾病产品(QIDP)和优先审评等资质。2021年6月1日获FDA批准上市,用于成人和月经初潮后女性外阴阴道念珠菌病(VVC)的治疗,商品名为Brexafemme■。这是美国FDA近二十多年来批准的首款新型抗真菌类药物,也是唯一可口服或注射治疗的非唑类阴道酵母菌感染的首创新药。该文对治疗深部真菌感染新药——艾瑞芬净的非临床和临床药理毒理学、临床研究、不良反应、适应证、剂量与用法、用药注意事项及知识产权状态和国内外研究进展等进行介绍。 展开更多

AIM:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of adjunctive mosapride citrate for bowel preparation before colonoscopy. METHODS:We conducted a randomized,double-blind, placebo-controlled study with mosapride in addition to polyethylene glycol(PEG)-electrolyte solution.Of 250 patients undergoing colonoscopy,124 were randomized to receive 2 L PEG plus 15 mg of mosapride citrate (mosapride group),and 126 received 2 L PEG plus placebo(placebo group).Patients completed a questionnaire reporting the acceptability and tolerability of the bowel preparation process.The efficacy of bowel preparation was assessed by colonoscopists using a 5-point scale based on Aronchick's criteria.The primary end point was optimal bowel preparation rates(scores of excellent/good/fair vs poor/inadequate). RESULTS:A total of 249 patients were included in the analysis.In the mosapride group,optimal bowel preparation rates were significantly higher in the left colon compared with the placebo group(78.2%vs 65.6%,P<0.05),but not in the right colon(76.5%vs 66.4%,P=0.08).After excluding patients with severe constipation,there was a significant difference in bowel preparation in both the left and right colon(82.4%vs 66.7%,80.8%vs 67.5%,P<0.05,P<0.01).The incidence of adverse events was similar in both groups. Among the subgroup who had previous colonoscopy experience,a significantly higher number of patients in the mosapride group felt that the current preparation was easier compared with patients in the placebo group(34/72 patients vs 24/74 patients,P<0.05). CONCLUSION:Mosapride citrate may be an effective and safe adjunct to PEG-electrolyte solution that leads to improved quality of bowel preparation,especially in patients without severe constipation. 展开更多

Continuous renal replacement therapy(CRRT)is widely used for treating critically-ill patients in the emergency department in China.Anticoagulant therapy is needed to prevent clotting in the extracorporeal circulation during CRRT.Regional citrate anticoagulation(RCA)has been shown to potentially be safer and more effective,and is now recommended as the preferred anticoagulant method for CRRT.However,there is still a lack of unified standards for RCA management in the world,and there are many problems in using this method in clinical practice.The Emergency Medical Doctor Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)organized a panel of domestic emergency medicine experts and international experts of CRRT to discuss RCA-related issues,including the advantages and disadvantages of RCA in CRRT anticoagulation,the principle of RCA,parameter settings for RCA,monitoring of RCA(mainly metabolic acid-base disorders),and special issues during RCA.Based on the latest available research evidence as well as the paneled experts'clinical experience,considering the generalizability,suitability,and potential resource utilization,while also balancing clinical advantages and disadvantages,a total of 16 guideline recommendations were formed from the experts'consensus. 展开更多
