[Objectives] This paper aims to explore the possibility to intercrop garlic with pomegranate tree to control pomegranate wilt.[Methods] Root exudates of garlic is cultivated in 1/5 concentration of MS solution and dis...[Objectives] This paper aims to explore the possibility to intercrop garlic with pomegranate tree to control pomegranate wilt.[Methods] Root exudates of garlic is cultivated in 1/5 concentration of MS solution and distilled water is examined in lab to test their effect to growth of mycelia of pomegranate wilt pathogen(Ceratocystis fimbriata)and multiplication of Bacillus subtilis.[Results] The result shows that garlic root exudates whatever cultivated in MS solution or distilled water could not inhibit or promote mycelia growth of C.fimbriata.However,garlic root exudates cultivated in both methods effectively promote multiplication of B.subtilis.[Conclusions] It is suggested that intercropping garlic with pomegranate tree by combining application B.subtilis could be a promising way to prevent pomegranate wilt spread in practice.展开更多
[Objective]The paper was to reveal the preparation and regeneration conditions of Ceratocystis caradoxa protoplast.[Method]Using multi-factors orthogonal test,the effects of hypha age,enzyme system,time of hydrolysis,...[Objective]The paper was to reveal the preparation and regeneration conditions of Ceratocystis caradoxa protoplast.[Method]Using multi-factors orthogonal test,the effects of hypha age,enzyme system,time of hydrolysis,hydrolysis temperature,osmotic pressure stabilizer and regeneration medium on C.paradoxa protoplast were studied.[Result]The optimum condition for preparing protoplast were conidia cultured in liguid SYM medium for 24 h,enzyme mixture of 1%driselase and 1%lytic enzyme used to digest hypha for 1.5 h,0.7 mol/L MgSO4·7H2O used as osmotic stabilizer,or individual enzyme 1%driselase used to digest hypha for 1.5 h,1.0 mol/L mannitol as osmotic stabilizer.The regeneration rate was over 40%under C.paradoxa protoplast regenerating on CM medium with mannitol and hydrolysis for 2 h.[Conclusion]Higher protoplast yield and higher regeneration rate could be obtained under above conditions,which is beneficial for transformation and further research.展开更多
Ceratocystis fimbriata Ellis&Halsted is a ubiquitous and devastating phytopathogen causing significant losses in harvested sweet potatoes.Furanoterpenoid toxins elicited by the C.fimbriata can cause hepatotoxicity...Ceratocystis fimbriata Ellis&Halsted is a ubiquitous and devastating phytopathogen causing significant losses in harvested sweet potatoes.Furanoterpenoid toxins elicited by the C.fimbriata can cause hepatotoxicity,pneumonia and lung edema,and seriously threaten human health.Therefore,controlling C.fimbriata and limiting the storage losses of sweet potatoes are of critical importance to the economic value of sweet potatoes and human health.In this review,the mechanisms of phytopathogen infection and dispersal are summarized.Furanoterpenoid toxins incidence in the tuberous root and their toxicology are reviewed.Furthermore,the control methods of C.fimbriata and postharvest sweet potato spoilage were emphasized.Equipped with these understandings,this review aims to provide an important theoretical basis for the efficient prevention and control of C.fimbriata and the maintaining of the storage quality of sweet potatoes.Additionally,the key problems in sweet potato postharvest storage and areas of research that warrant further studies are analyzed and identified.Per our knowledge,the current manuscript is the first review to provide integrated and up-to-date information for scientists working with C.fimbriata.展开更多
