They have also found applications in the development of chiral molecular catalysts and the total synthesis of diverse natural products. Accordingly the development of cost-effective approaches for the preparation of unnatural a-amino acids has received increasing attentions. Among all the available methods for this purpose, direct C–H functionalization of simple amino acids represents one of the most attractive approaches because it exhibits good atom-economy and step-efficiency. In particular, selective functionalization of either the primary or secondary C(sp^3)–H bonds in the amino acids has been explored to make versatile C–C, C–N, C–O, C–B and C–F bonds to modify the side chain of amino acids and even peptides. The present review surveys the recent advances of synthesis of chiral unnatural a-amino acids and peptides through palladium-catalyzed functionalization of un-activated C(sp^3)–H bonds.展开更多

Hubei Province as a large agricultural province is significantly affected by the human capital. The paper selects the correlation data about rural economic growth in Hubei Province as samples to analyze the contribution of physical capital and human capital to rural economic growth by the new C-D function and SPSS22. 0. The results show that the effect of the elasticity of human capital is greater than that of physical capital in rural economic development; the high quality rural human capital storage and the average years of schooling of rural labor force will increase the net income of rural household. Therefore,we should not only increase input of physical capital but also increase the input of human capital to raise the level of human capital in rural areas and promote sustainable development of rural economy.展开更多

In this regard, impressive progress has been made on the defluorinative functionalization reactions that proceed via radical intermediates. Nevertheless, it is still a great challenge to precisely control the defluorination process, due to the continuous decrease of the C-F bond strength after the replacement of one or two fluorine atoms with various functionalities. This review article is aimed to provide a brief overview of recently reported methods used to functionalize C-F bonds of CF_(3) groups via radical intermediates. An emphasis is placed on the discussion of mechanistic aspects and synthetic applications.展开更多

MicroRNAs(miRNAs) are a class of endogenous 18–24 nucleotide(nt) non-coding RNAs, some of which have been shown to be important regulators of GCs function. miR-34c involved in the regulation of various biological processes and was identified to be a pro-apoptotic and anti-proliferative factor in many cell types. However, the roles of miR-34c in GCs function remain unknown. In this study, we used Annexin V-FITC and Ed U assays to demonstrate that miR-34c exerted pro-apoptotic and anti-proliferative effects in porcine GCs. Dual-luciferase reporter assays, quantitative real-time PCR(q RT-PCR) and Western blotting identified Forkhead box O3a(Fox O3a) as a direct target gene of miR-34c. The overexpression of FoxO3a rescued the phenotypic change caused by miR-34c in porcine GCs. In conclusion, miR-34c regulate the function of porcine GCs by targeting FoxO3a.展开更多

Upon the optimization on different adsorption sites with coverage of 1/20 and 1/5 ML,it was found that the adsorption of C atoms on the α-Fe2O3(001) surface was chemical adsorption. The coverage can affect the adsorption behavior greatly. Under low coverage, the most stable adsorption geometry lied on the bridged site with the adsorption energy of about 3.22 eV; however, under high coverage,it located at the top site with the energy change of 8.79 eV. Strong chemical reaction has occurred between the C and O atoms at this site. The density of states and population analysis showed that the s,p orbitals of C and p orbital of O give the most contribution to the adsorption bonding. During the adsorption process,O atom shares the electrons with C,and C can only affect the outermost and subsurface layers of α-Fe2O3; the third layer can not be affected obviously.展开更多

Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 100 T2DM patients attending the Diabetic patients care Centre were recruited, thirty five patients were males and sixty five were females, the mean age of the patients was 50.29 ± 0.456 years, and body mass index (BMI) was 26.54 ± 0.437. We estimated β-cell function using fasting C-peptide levels;homeostatic model assessment for β-cell function (HOMA-B) and insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) were calculated from C-peptide and fasting blood glucose (FBG). Results: C-peptide was significantly and positively correlated with HOMA-B and HOMA-IR. FBG also showed significant negative correlation with HOMA-B, but was positively and significantly correlated with HOMA-IR. HbA1c was negatively and significantly correlated with HOMA-B. Patients with low C-peptide levels had increased FBG and HbA1c level, while patients with high C-peptide levels were having high HOMA-IR and HOMA-B. Conclusions: Fasting C-peptide is a useful marker of pancreatic β-cell function, and its circulating levels could be used to evaluate insulin secretion and insulin resistance. Moreover, HOMA-IR is an effective index to achieve glycemic control by appropriate pharmacologic treatment of T2DM.展开更多

We previously found that neural control of vasomotor activity could be potentially harnessed to evaluate nerve function. In the present study, five different models of left sciatic nerve injury in rats were established: nerve crush injury, nerve transection/ suturing, nerve defect/autografting, nerve defect/conduit repair, and nerve defect/non-regeneration. Laser Doppler perfusion imaging was used to analyze blood perfusion of the hind feet. The toe pinch test and walking track analysis were used to assess sensory and motor functions of the rat hind limb, respectively. Transmission electron microscopy was used to observe the density of unmyelinated axons in the injured sciatic nerve. Our results showed that axonotmesis-evoked vasodilatation in the foot 6 months after nerve injury/repair recovered to normal levels in the nerve crush injury group and partially in the other three repair groups;whereas the nerve defect/non-regeneration group exhibited no recovery in vasodilatation. Furthermore, the recovery index of axonotmesis-evoked vasodilatation was positively correlated with toe pinch reflex scores and the density of unmyelinated nerve fibers in the regenerated nerve. As C-fiber afferents are predominantly responsible for dilatation of the superficial vasculature in the glabrous skin in rats, the present findings indicate that axonotmesis-evoked vasodilatation can be used as a novel way to assess C-afferent function recovery after peripheral nerve injury. This study was approved by the Ethics Committee for Laboratory Animals of Nantong University of China (approval No. 20130410-006) on April 10, 2013.展开更多

All participants were subjected to baseline otological and audiological assessment just before treatment. The audiological assessment included standard pure tone audiometry, extended highfrequency audiometry, immitancemetry and otoacoustic emissions(OAEs)(transient and distortion product). According to baseline hearing threshold measurements, the study population was divided into2 groups. Group 1 included 42 patients with normal hearing sensitivity(250-8000 Hz), and Group 2 included 38 patients with sensorineural hearing loss. After 24 weeks of therapy, otological and audiological assessments were repeated and compared between the two groups and before and after therapy. Results: Post-treatment hearing threshold evaluation showed no significant difference from pretreatment evaluation at all tested frequencies. There was no statistically significant difference between pre and post-treatment otoacoustic emissions results. Conclusion: Therapy with sofosbuvir and ribavirin in chronic hepatitis C has no noticeable effects on cochlear functions.展开更多
