Creating proper B-spline surface models is a very challenging task for designers in car-body surface design.Due to the tensor-product structure of B-spline surface,some undesirable issues of the redundant control points addition,incomplete surface definition and the difficulty of trimming boundary alteration frequently occur,when designing the car-body surface with B-spline surfaces in local-feature-lines construction,full-boundary-merging and visual surface trimming.A more efficient approach is proposed to design the car-body surface by replacing B-spline surface with classical T-spline surface.With the local refinability and multilateral definition offered by Tspline surface,those designing issues related with B-spline surface can be overcomed.Finally,modeling examples of the door,hood and rear-window are given to demonstrate the advantage of T-spline surface over B-spline surface in car-body surface design. 展开更多

In recent years, a lot of progress has been made in smooth join of non-trimmed surface patches, while there has been seldom research on smoothly stitching trimmed surface patches together. This paper studies the problem of global continuity adjustment, damaged hole repair and local shape optimization for complex trimmed surface model, and presents a uniform scheme to deal with continuity adjustment of trimmed surfaces and geometric repair of local broken region. Constrained B-spline surface refitting technique and trim calculation are first utilized to achieve global G^1 continuity, and then local shape optimization functional is adopted to reduce fitting error and improve local quality of refitted surface patch. The proposed approach is applied to a discontinuity ship hull surface model with an irregular hole, and the result demonstrates the validation of our method. Furthermore, on the premise of global continuity, the proposed locally repairing damaged surface model provides a better foundation for following research work, such as topology recovery technique for complex surface model after geometric repair. 展开更多

An exact-designed mesh shape with favorable surface accuracy is of practical significance to the performance of large cable-network antenna reflectors. In this study, a novel design approach that could guide the generation of exact spatial parabolic mesh configurations of such reflector was proposed. By incorporating the traditional force density method with the standard finite element method, this proposed approach had taken the deformation effects of flexible ring truss supports into consideration, and searched for the desired mesh shapes that can satisfy the requirement that all the free nodes are exactly located on the objective paraboloid. Compared with the conventional design method,a remarkable improvement of surface accuracy in the obtained mesh shapes had been demonstrated by numerical examples. The present work would provide a helpful technical reference for the mesh shape design of such cable-network antenna reflector in engineering practice. 展开更多

Large-deflection flexure pivot is widely used in high precision rotation application, but there are less flexure configurations and simple and convenient design methods, This paper presents a novel large-deflection curved-compliant annulus-shaped flexure pivot composed of six curved beam flexure elements. It can offer more than lO^angular stroke theoretically. Firstly, main-motion pseudo-rigid-body method is introduced to establish the flexure pivot model. Although pseudo-rigid-body method can be used to analyze the large-deformation flexure pivot performance, the method is definitely a laborious and difficult task for designing this novel flexure pivot. In order to simply the designing process, dimension-design graphs based on the parametric models and finite element analysis is presented. Using the dimension-design method as a tool, the designers can determine the optimal geometry rapidly, based on the stiffness and rotation demands of an annulus-shaped flexure pivot. Finally, dimension-design graph examples are given whose primary design aims to achieve a rotation stroke of annulus-shaped flexure pivot. The finite element analysis results show that the relative designing error between anticipative rotation stroke and graph design result is less than 4%. The dimensionless method used in designing annulus-shaped flexure pivot can reduce design process in both time and complexity. The novel annulus-shaped flexure pivot and dimension-design method are helpful supplement to configuration and design method of large-deflection flexure pivot. 展开更多

In this paper,size and shape optimization problem of a machine gun system is addressed with an efficient hybrid method,in which a novel and flexible mesh morphing technique is employed to achieve fast parameterization and modification of complexity structure without going back to CAD for reconstruction of geometric models or to finite element analysis( FEA) for remodeling. Design of experiments( DOE) and response surface method( RSM) are applied to approximate the constitutive parameters of a machine gun system based on experimental tests. Further FEA,secondary development technique and genetic algorithm( GA) are introduced to find all the optimal solutions in one go and the optimal design of the demonstrated machine gun system is obtained. Results of the rigid-flexible coupling dynamic analysis and exterior ballistics calculation validate the proposed methodology,which is relatively time-saving,reliable and has the potential to solve similar problems. 展开更多

Body mass, volume and surface area are important for many aspects of the physiology and performance of species. Whereas body mass scaling received a lot of attention in the literature, surface areas of animals have not been measured explicitly in this context. We quantified surface area-volume (SA/V) ratios for the first time using 3D surface models based on a structured light scanning method for 126 species of pollinating insects from 4 orders (Diptera, Hymenoptera, Lepidoptera, and Coleoptera). Water loss of 67 species was measured gravimetrically at very dry conditions for 2 h at 15 and 30 ℃ to demonstrate the applicability of the new 3D surface measurements and relevance for predicting the performance of insects. Quantified SA/V ratios significantly explained the variation in water loss across species, both directly or after accounting for isometric scaling (residuals of the SA/V - mass2/3 relationship). Small insects with a proportionally larger surface area had the highest water loss rates. Surface scans of insects to quantify allometric SA/Vratios thus provide a promising method to predict physiological responses, improving the potential of body mass isometry alone that assume geometric similarity. 展开更多

Aiming at optimizing the head shape of the CRH3 high speed train, an efficient optimization approach is proposed. The CFD analysis by solving Navier-Stokes equations is coupled with optimization calculation based on the multi-objective genetic algorithm, meanwhile the arbitrary shape deformation technique (ASD) is also introduced into the design flow, which greatly shortens the time consumption for geometry regeneration and flow field remeshing. As a result, the efficiency of the optimization calculation is highly improved. Statistical analysis is done to the designs in the design space, and the correlation between the design variables and the objective is studied to find out the key variables that most affect the objective. Response surface analysis is also performed to get the nonlinear relationship between the key design variables and the objective with the Kriging algorithm. Finally, after the optimization, an aerodynamic performance comparison between the optimal shape and the original shape reveals that the original shape of CRH3 high speed train owns a very stable aerodynamic performance and can be trustingly used in industry. 展开更多

针对翼身融合布局飞机翼上内埋发动机矩形喷口方案,提出了基于喷口修型的控制策略,采用雷诺平均Navier-Stokes(RANS)方程对翼身融合布局飞机流场进行数值模拟,分析了喷流落压比、襟翼偏角、襟翼前缘半径、喷口上偏襟翼及组合襟翼等参数... 针对翼身融合布局飞机翼上内埋发动机矩形喷口方案,提出了基于喷口修型的控制策略,采用雷诺平均Navier-Stokes(RANS)方程对翼身融合布局飞机流场进行数值模拟,分析了喷流落压比、襟翼偏角、襟翼前缘半径、喷口上偏襟翼及组合襟翼等参数对增升效能的影响。结果表明:当襟翼偏角为40°,落压比较大时,襟翼前缘负压峰值减小,喷流在襟翼前缘过早分离;增大襟翼前缘半径有助于减小喷流偏转所需要的向心力,促进喷流附着;发动机喷口上偏襟翼及组合襟翼设计,削弱了右侧涡流和表面横流对喷流附着的不利影响,促进喷流在大落压比和较大襟翼偏角下的附着,组合襟翼设计相较于喷口无修型构型,在喷流落压比为1.45、迎角为0°时,净推力平均偏转角可达56.10°,升力系数增加0.16,且在计算迎角范围内保持稳定。 展开更多

针对某款4缸发动机搭建了活塞柔性多体动力学模型,提出活塞裙部曲面多目标优化设计方法。建立活塞温度场并通过试验验证,利用Optistruct对活塞缸套有限元模型进行自由度缩减,通过活塞裙部横向曲线和纵向曲线的关系将活塞裙部曲面参数化... 针对某款4缸发动机搭建了活塞柔性多体动力学模型,提出活塞裙部曲面多目标优化设计方法。建立活塞温度场并通过试验验证,利用Optistruct对活塞缸套有限元模型进行自由度缩减,通过活塞裙部横向曲线和纵向曲线的关系将活塞裙部曲面参数化,收集相关参数在AVL EXCITE中建立活塞柔性多体动力学模型并通过试验验证模型可靠性。再以一个周期内活塞二阶运动、活塞裙部与缸套间油膜厚度和摩擦损失为优化目标,将活塞裙部曲面参数进行拉丁超立方采样。采用不同响应面模型对仿真模型进行拟合,并选取精度最高的径向基函数神经网络响应面模型,结合非支配排序遗传算法(non-dominated sorting genetic algorithmⅡ,NSGA-Ⅱ)算法对活塞裙部曲面进行多目标优化,得到Pareto解集并选取其中所需解进行对比验证。优化后活塞最大径向位移减少1.16%,最大倾斜角减小2.32%,最小油膜厚度增加6.00%,摩擦损失降低2.63%。 展开更多

为进一步简化工艺流程突破二维平面版型的限制,选择全成形电脑横机和三维异型筒状编织技术,对横编全成形三维鞋体实现方法进行研究。首先对比三维立体鞋体与传统二维平面鞋面的结构差异,应用SDS-ONE APPEX3全成形设计系统开发三维立体... 为进一步简化工艺流程突破二维平面版型的限制,选择全成形电脑横机和三维异型筒状编织技术,对横编全成形三维鞋体实现方法进行研究。首先对比三维立体鞋体与传统二维平面鞋面的结构差异,应用SDS-ONE APPEX3全成形设计系统开发三维立体鞋体版型,然后选用高强涤纶复丝、涤纶单丝、涤氨包覆纱和热熔丝4种纱线,借助岛精MACH2XS153-15G四针床全成形电脑横机进行织造。最后将下机鞋体坯样套入鞋楦模具中进行定型,完成全成形轻量鞋体制备过程。本研究制得的全成形针织鞋体包含鞋舌和鞋底组织,且鞋舌与鞋体、鞋体与鞋跟、鞋底与鞋身之间均为三维一体编织成形。同时增加了组织结构孔隙率,进一步降低了鞋体质量,缩短了生产工序步骤,实现了鞋体高透气轻量化开发,对于探索针织鞋体的创新开发具有重要意义。 展开更多

带曲率气膜孔的设计参数敏感性分析及多目标优化

针对带曲率的气膜孔结构构建了以综合冷效和最大等效热应力为响应的代理模型,研究了吹风比及结构参数(曲率半径、入射角、长径比、展向倾角)对带曲率扇形气膜孔冷却及强度特性的影响规律,并以最大化综合冷效和最小化最大等效热应力为优... 针对带曲率的气膜孔结构构建了以综合冷效和最大等效热应力为响应的代理模型,研究了吹风比及结构参数(曲率半径、入射角、长径比、展向倾角)对带曲率扇形气膜孔冷却及强度特性的影响规律,并以最大化综合冷效和最小化最大等效热应力为优化目标开展了优化设计及分析。结果表明:相对于结构参数,吹风比是带曲率气膜孔面平均综合冷效的主要影响因素,当吹风比从0.5增大至1.5,综合冷效提高43%以上;曲率半径是最大等效热应力的主要影响因素,其对最大等效热应力影响率可达43.15%(凹面模型)和48.35%(凸面模型),且位于曲率半径小的一侧应力集中更显著。相对于基准模型,通过多目标优化使得曲率半径为40的凹面模型和凸面模型综合冷效分别提高10.11%和17.19%,最大等效热应力分别降低26.78%和9.62%。 展开更多

自由曲面在紧凑型复杂光学系统中占有重要地位,自由曲面设计及自由曲面描述方法是自由曲面应用的关键。文章提出基于网格矢高的自由曲面设计方法,以光线为研究对象,将成像和非成像相结合,利用非成像理论计算自由曲面离散点坐标,将其拟... 自由曲面在紧凑型复杂光学系统中占有重要地位,自由曲面设计及自由曲面描述方法是自由曲面应用的关键。文章提出基于网格矢高的自由曲面设计方法,以光线为研究对象,将成像和非成像相结合,利用非成像理论计算自由曲面离散点坐标,将其拟合为自由曲面作为基底曲面,将离散点与基底曲面的偏差设为补偿量,然后利用成像光学理论同时优化基底和补偿量,直到满足系统设计要求。利用该方法设计了一个自由曲面反射镜光学整形系统,照度均匀性90%以上,畸变小于2%。该方法可用于隧道照明、车灯照明、光伏聚光系统等非成像领域的自由曲面设计,也适用于大视场、离轴、超短焦等成像系统的自由曲面设计。 展开更多

针对船体碳纤维增强聚合物(Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer,CFRP)帽形加筋板的优化设计问题,提出一种基于响应面法(Response Surface Methodology,RSM)的结构优化方法。对船体CFRP帽形加筋板进行静力学计算和特征值屈曲分析,获取加筋... 针对船体碳纤维增强聚合物(Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer,CFRP)帽形加筋板的优化设计问题,提出一种基于响应面法(Response Surface Methodology,RSM)的结构优化方法。对船体CFRP帽形加筋板进行静力学计算和特征值屈曲分析,获取加筋板结构的质量特征和力学特性。采用拉丁超立方体抽样(Latin Hypercube Sampling,LHS)进行响应面试验,采用多目标遗传算法(Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm,MOGA)进行迭代寻优,获得满足尺寸约束和稳定性要求的最佳设计方案。优化结果表明,面板厚度和帽形梁厚度对加筋板屈曲载荷和质量的影响较为敏感。响应面模型的预测精度较高,所提出的优化设计方案具有良好的应用性,可为CFRP船体结构的优化设计和工程应用等提供参考。 展开更多

Ethnography of Women' s Perception of Their Workwear: Comparative Study between South Afi'ica and Uganda

The study investigates women's perception of the workwear, and their awareness about how garment fit can affect one's body image. Drawing on the theory of practice, we propose an ethnographic account of women's perception of workwear and their preferred alternative. The study presents a comparative perspective of attitudes, and perceptions about the workwear of women in South Africa and Uganda explored through the habitus. We present pro-vocal recollections of women perceptions on the current workwear ideal for men which omits women' body physique. In particular, from the current personal protective equipment (PPE), we examine "the overall" common attire at site and an integral part of the PPE. Overalls are designed following the men's physique, and women in work place are subjected to put them on yet, differences in body structure/shapes amongst women, namely, hour glass, bottom hourglass, spoon, and pear shape, are hardly considered. The identification of different female body shapes is made possible through the 3D anthropometric measurements using a Three Dimensional (3D) Body Scanner (TC2). We develop endogenous explanations of what women would want to see as workwear based on the understanding of women found on site in men's workwear or without any work weal- in South Africa and Uganda. Using ethnographic design approach, we capture voices of 10 women from South Africa and Uganda through participant observation and unstructured interviews. We analyze data thematically to determine the patterns of their responses toward an appropriate workwear. Moreover, we (re)construct these responses into possible design models that would be ideal workwear for women, which gives them the pride, respect, dignity, and confidence as women. 展开更多
