As a result, many Afi＇ican American women lack knowledge about how to care for their naturally kinky hair because straightened hair has been the standard and norm. Therefore, women wearing natural hair had to seek support and education outside of their immediate community via social networking sites. Through a participatory culture framework via an Afrocentric lens, the results revealed that producers of these sites became the needed support and comfort that the natural hair community was missing. Through communication with these producers and their sites, a space was created where women began to appreciate and love their natural hair.展开更多

Compared with conventional webs,links in the blo...Popularity of blogs and the amount of information in the blogosphere increase so fast that it is difficult for Internet users to search the information they care about. Compared with conventional webs,links in the blogosphere are more abundant and conversations between bloggers are more fre-quent. This paper proposes a method of ranking bloggers based on link analysis,which can exemplify the characteristics of blogs,and reduce the influence of link spamming. This method can also bring convenience to users to read blogs,and it can supply a new methodology for information retrieval in the blogosphere. To ensure the reliability of the ranking results,some evaluation indicators of the im-portant bloggers are proposed,and the grading results of bloggers using the proposed method is compared with that using other indicators. At last,correlation analysis is used to verify the consistency between the proposed method and the evaluation indicators.展开更多
With the development of digital media,feminist thought has demonstrated new modes of dissemination on new media platforms.This paper aims to analyze the interactions between female bloggers and users from a feminist p...With the development of digital media,feminist thought has demonstrated new modes of dissemination on new media platforms.This paper aims to analyze the interactions between female bloggers and users from a feminist perspective using discourse analysis as a tool.The study explores the deeper motivations and influencing factors behind interactive discourse to foster a more equitable and inclusive discussion on gender issues and a more harmonious social media discourse space.It also seeks to provide theoretical support and methodological reference for scholars studying the dissemination of feminism on new media platforms.The research finds that the pragmatic strategies of users and bloggers differ but are both influenced by subjective emotional tendencies.Furthermore,the study reveals that the discursive identities of users and bloggers in interactions are shaped by the discourse scenarios constructed by bloggers:the closer the content is to the users'lives,the tighter the connection between their discursive identities,and vice versa.Additionally,different types of content play varying roles in the operation of feminist blogger accounts.展开更多
