The motion of the fluid is taken as two-dimensional with the impact of a magnetic field in the normal direction. The variable, permeable, and stretching nature of sheet's surface sets the fluid into motion. Thermal and mass diffusions are controlled through the use of the Cattaneo–Christov flux model. A dataset is generated using MATLAB bvp4c package solver and employed to train an artificial neural network(ANN) based on the Levenberg–Marquardt back-propagation(LMBP) algorithm. It has been observed as an outcome of this study that the modeled problem achieves peak performance at epochs 637, 112, 4848, and 344 using ANN-LMBP. The linear velocity of the fluid weakens with progression in variable porous and magnetic factors. With an augmentation in magnetic factor, the micro-rotational velocity profiles are augmented on the domain 0 ≤ η < 1.5 due to the support of micro-rotations by Lorentz forces close to the sheet's surface, while they are suppressed on the domain 1.5 ≤ η < 6.0 due to opposing micro-rotations away from the sheet's surface. Thermal distributions are augmented with an upsurge in thermophoresis, Brownian motion, magnetic, and radiation factors, while they are suppressed with an upsurge in thermal relaxation parameter. Concentration profiles increase with an expansion in thermophoresis factor and are suppressed with an intensification of Brownian motion factor and solute relaxation factor. The absolute errors(AEs) are evaluated for all the four scenarios that fall within the range 10^(-3)–10^(-8) and are associated with the corresponding ANN configuration that demonstrates a fine degree of accuracy.展开更多

Sensitivity analysis of hydrological model is a key step in model uncertainty quantification, which can identify the dominant parameters, reduce the model calibration uncertainty, and enhance the model optimization efficiency. There are, however, some shortcomings in classical approaches, including the long duration of time and high computation cost required to quantitatively assess the sensitivity of a multiple-parameter hydrological model. For this reason, a two-step statistical evaluation framework using global techniques is presented. It is based on (1) a screening method (Morris) for qualitative ranking of parameters, and (2) a variance-based method integrated with a meta-model for quantitative sensitivity analysis, i.e., the Sobol method integrated with the response surface model (RSMSobol). First, the Morris screening method was used to qualitatively identify the parameters' sensitivity, and then ten parameters were selected to quantify the sensitivity indices. Subsequently, the RSMSobol method was used to quantify the sensitivity, i.e., the first-order and total sensitivity indices based on the response surface model (RSM) were calculated. The RSMSobol method can not only quantify the sensitivity, but also reduce the computational cost, with good accuracy compared to the classical approaches. This approach will be effective and reliable in the global sensitivity analysis of a complex large-scale distributed hydrological model.展开更多

文摘Failure mechanism and impact resistance of a human porous cranium are studied in detail by means of theoretical and numerical methods. It is hypothesized that pore distribution of a cranium directly affects cranial energy absorption, and a stretched beam model and a real beam model are taken as the example for the verification.Meanwhile, for the purpose of comparison with numerical results,a theoretical model is also proposed for the prediction of residual velocity and contact force of the impactor for an impacted skull.Compared with the real beam model, the stretched beam model containing through-thickness pores is easily deformed under the impact, thereby buffering well the external impact energy. The energy absorption efficiency of both the stretched beam model and real beam model is concerned with the threshold velocity for penetration which is directly related to the size of the structural damage area.Overall, there is good agreement between numerical and theoretical results. In addition, the effect of structural geometric parameters(shape and size of the impactor)on the impact resistance of the skull bone is theoretically investigated. The study provides reference for the evaluation of the energy absorption and failure mechanism of the skull under impact loads.

文摘In the last couple of years, there Has been an increased interest among the statisticians to dene new families of distributions by adding one or more additional parameter(s)to the baseline distribution. In this regard,a number of families have been introduced and studied. One such example is the Marshall-Olkin family of distributions that is one of the most prominent approaches used to generalize the existing distributions.Whenever,we see a new method, the natural questions come in to mind are(i)what are the genesis of the newly proposed method and(ii)how did the proposed method is obtained. No doubt, the Marshall-Olkin family is a very useful method and has attracted the researchers. But,unfortunately, the authors failed to provide the explanation about the genesis of the method that how this family of distributions is obtained. To address this issue,in this article,an attempt Has been made to provide a straight forward computation about the genesis of the Marshall-Olkin family that somehow completes its derivation. The genesis of the Marshall-Olkin family is based on the T-X family approach.Furthermore,we have showed that other extensions of the Marshall-Olkin family can also be obtained via the T-X family method. Finally,a real-life application form insurance science is presented to illustrate the newly proposed extension of the Marshall-Olkin family.
文摘In the last issue, two case reports separately present examples of the extremely rare and complex congenital heart diseases that show concordant atrioventricular connections to the L-looped ventricles in the presence of situs solitus. Both cases highlight that the relationship between the two ventricles within the ventricular mass is not always harmonious with the given atrioventricular connection.Such disharmony between the connections and relationships requires careful assessment of the three basic facets of cardiac building blocks, namely their morphology, the relationship of their component parts, and their connections with the adjacent segments.3D imaging and printing can now facilitate an otherwise difficult diagnosis in such complex situations.Rotation of either the 3D images or the models permit accurate assessment of the ventricular topologic pattern by creating the right ventricular en-face septal view, thus facilitating placement of the observer’s hands. As we now emphasize,an alternative approach, which might prove more attractive to imagers,is to rotate the ventricular mass to provide the ventricular apical view, thus permitting determination of the ventricular relationship without using the hands.

文摘The constitutive model is essential for predicting the deformation and stability of rocksoil mass. The estimation of constitutive model parameters is a necessary and important task for the reliable characterization of mechanical behaviors. However, constitutive model parameters cannot be evaluated accurately with a limited amount of test data, resulting in uncertainty in the prediction of stress-strain curves. This paper proposes a Bayesian analysis framework to address this issue. It combines the Bayesian updating with the structural reliability and adaptive conditional sampling methods to assess the equation parameter of constitutive models.Based on the triaxial and ring shear tests on shear zone soils from the Huangtupo landslide,a statistical damage constitutive model and a critical state hypoplastic constitutive model were used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed framework. Moreover, the parameter uncertainty effects of the damage constitutive model on landslide stability were investigated. Results show that reasonable assessments of the constitutive model parameter can be well realized. The variability of stress-strain curves is strongly related to the model prediction performance. The estimation uncertainty of constitutive model parameters should not be ignored for the landslide stability calculation. Our study provides a reference for uncertainty analysis and parameter assessment of the constitutive model.
文摘Symplectic symmetry approach to clustering(SSAC)in atomic nuclei, recently proposed,is modified and further developed in more detail. It is firstly applied to the light two-cluster^(20)Ne+αsystem of^(24)Mg,the latter exhibiting well developed low-energy K^(π)=0_(1)^(+),k^(π)=2_(1)^(+) and π^(π)=0_(1)^(-) rotational bands in its spectrum.A simple algebraic Hamiltonian, consisting of dynamical symmetry, residual and vertical mixing parts is used to describe these three lowest rotational bands of positive and negative parity in^(24)Mg.A good description of the excitation energies is obtained by considering only the SU(3)cluster states restricted to the stretched many-particle Hilbert subspace, built on the leading Pauli allowed SU(3)multiplet for the positive-and negative-parity states, respectively. The coupling to the higher cluster-model configurations allows us to describe the known low-lying experimentally observed B(E2)transition probabilities within and between the cluster states of the three bands under consideration without the use of an effective charge.
