Software defect prediction(SDP)aims to find a reliable method to predict defects in specific software projects and help software engineers allocate limited resources to release high-quality software products.Software ...Software defect prediction(SDP)aims to find a reliable method to predict defects in specific software projects and help software engineers allocate limited resources to release high-quality software products.Software defect prediction can be effectively performed using traditional features,but there are some redundant or irrelevant features in them(the presence or absence of this feature has little effect on the prediction results).These problems can be solved using feature selection.However,existing feature selection methods have shortcomings such as insignificant dimensionality reduction effect and low classification accuracy of the selected optimal feature subset.In order to reduce the impact of these shortcomings,this paper proposes a new feature selection method Cubic TraverseMa Beluga whale optimization algorithm(CTMBWO)based on the improved Beluga whale optimization algorithm(BWO).The goal of this study is to determine how well the CTMBWO can extract the features that are most important for correctly predicting software defects,improve the accuracy of fault prediction,reduce the number of the selected feature and mitigate the risk of overfitting,thereby achieving more efficient resource utilization and better distribution of test workload.The CTMBWO comprises three main stages:preprocessing the dataset,selecting relevant features,and evaluating the classification performance of the model.The novel feature selection method can effectively improve the performance of SDP.This study performs experiments on two software defect datasets(PROMISE,NASA)and shows the method’s classification performance using four detailed evaluation metrics,Accuracy,F1-score,MCC,AUC and Recall.The results indicate that the approach presented in this paper achieves outstanding classification performance on both datasets and has significant improvement over the baseline models.展开更多
This study integrates the individual photovoltaic(PV)and thermoelectric generator(TEG)systems into a PV-TEG hybrid system to improve its overall power output by reutilizing the waste heat generated during PV power pro...This study integrates the individual photovoltaic(PV)and thermoelectric generator(TEG)systems into a PV-TEG hybrid system to improve its overall power output by reutilizing the waste heat generated during PV power production to enhance its operational relia-bility.However,stochastic environmental conditions often result in partial shading conditions and nonuniform thermal distribution across the PV-TEG modules,which negatively affect the output characteristics of the system,thus presenting a significant challenge to maintaining their optimal performance.To address these challenges,a novel fitness-distance-balance-based beluga whale optimization(FDBBWO)strategy has been devised for maximizing the power output of the PV-TEG hybrid system under dynamic operation scenar-ios.A broader spectrum of complex and authentic operational contexts has been considered in case studies to examine the effectiveness and feasibility of FDBBWO.For this,real-world datasets collected from different seasons in Hong Kong have been used to validate the practical viability of the proposed strategy.Simulation results reveal that the FDBBWO based maximum power point tracking technique outperforms its competing methods by achieving the highest energy output,with a remarkable increase of up to 134.25%with minimal power fluctuations.For instance,the energy obtained by FDBBWO is 47.45%and 58.34%higher than BWO and perturb and observe methods,respectively,in the winter season.展开更多
Proportioning is an important part of sintering,as it affects the cost of sintering and the quality of sintered ore.To address the problems posed by the complex raw material information and numerous constraints in the...Proportioning is an important part of sintering,as it affects the cost of sintering and the quality of sintered ore.To address the problems posed by the complex raw material information and numerous constraints in the sintering process,a multi-objective optimisation model for sintering proportioning was established,which takes the proportioning cost and TFe as the optimisation objectives.Additionally,an improved multi-objective beluga whale optimisation(IMOBWO)algorithm was proposed to solve the nonlinear,multi-constrained multi-objective optimisation problems.The algorithm uses the con-strained non-dominance criterion to deal with the constraint problem in the model.Moreover,the algorithm employs an opposite learning strategy and a population guidance mechanism based on angular competition and two-population competition strategy to enhance convergence and population diversity.The actual proportioning of a steel plant indicates that the IMOBWO algorithm applied to the ore proportioning process has good convergence and obtains the uniformly distributed Pareto front.Meanwhile,compared with the actual proportioning scheme,the proportioning cost is reduced by 4.3361¥/t,and the TFe content in the mixture is increased by 0.0367%in the optimal compromise solution.Therefore,the proposed method effectively balances the cost and total iron,facilitating the comprehensive utilisation of sintered iron ore resources while ensuring quality assurance.展开更多

The cloud computing technology is utilized for achieving resource utilization of remotebased virtual computer to facilitate the consumers with rapid and accurate massive data services.It utilizes on-demand resource pr...The cloud computing technology is utilized for achieving resource utilization of remotebased virtual computer to facilitate the consumers with rapid and accurate massive data services.It utilizes on-demand resource provisioning,but the necessitated constraints of rapid turnaround time,minimal execution cost,high rate of resource utilization and limited makespan transforms the Load Balancing(LB)process-based Task Scheduling(TS)problem into an NP-hard optimization issue.In this paper,Hybrid Prairie Dog and Beluga Whale Optimization Algorithm(HPDBWOA)is propounded for precise mapping of tasks to virtual machines with the due objective of addressing the dynamic nature of cloud environment.This capability of HPDBWOA helps in decreasing the SLA violations and Makespan with optimal resource management.It is modelled as a scheduling strategy which utilizes the merits of PDOA and BWOA for attaining reactive decisions making with respect to the process of assigning the tasks to virtual resources by considering their priorities into account.It addresses the problem of pre-convergence with wellbalanced exploration and exploitation to attain necessitated Quality of Service(QoS)for minimizing the waiting time incurred during TS process.It further balanced exploration and exploitation rates for reducing the makespan during the task allocation with complete awareness of VM state.The results of the proposed HPDBWOA confirmed minimized energy utilization of 32.18% and reduced cost of 28.94% better than approaches used for investigation.The statistical investigation of the proposed HPDBWOA conducted using ANOVA confirmed its efficacy over the benchmarked systems in terms of throughput,system,and response time.展开更多
The aim of the research was to study antioxidant activity and protective potential of new phenol-containing thioacetyl derivatives of D-and L-prolines as potential agents on beluga sperm and survival in the early stag...The aim of the research was to study antioxidant activity and protective potential of new phenol-containing thioacetyl derivatives of D-and L-prolines as potential agents on beluga sperm and survival in the early stages of ontogeny of bester(Huso x Acipenser ruthenus)development.The study indicated that both enantiomers demonstrated the equal scavenging activity towards DPPH^(·),ABTS^(·+),O_(2)^(·-),H_(2)O_(2) and NO,and that the activity towards all of these radicals,with the exception of nitric oxide,exceeded the activity of BHT.No significant differences were registered between the enantiomers in the inhibition of long-term lipid peroxidation of beluga sperm in vitro.The enantiomers revealed the opposite effect on the motility duration time of beluga spermatozoa,the rate of their fertilization,and survival at the early stages of bester ontogeny.Application of the L-proline derivative for the beluga sperm treatment resulted in the increase of the total period of movement of beluga sperm cells,the raise of the fertility of sterlet eggs and the survival of bester offspring at the prelarval stage,which led to an increase in the number of produced larvae.The introduction of the D-proline derivative or BHT decreased the motility duration time of beluga sperm,the fertility of sterlet eggs and the survival of offspring at the prolarval stage,which led to a decrease in the number of obtained larvae.展开更多
