The studied structure is composed of two homogeneous layers and a functionally gradedinterlayer with a crack perpendicular to the boundaries. The impact load is applied on the face of the crack. Fourier transform and Laplace transform methods are used to formulate the present problem in terms of a singular integral equation in Laplace transform domain. Considering variations of parameters such as the nonhomogeneity constant, the thickness ratio and the crack length, the dynamic stress intensity factors (DSIFs) in time domain are studied and some meaningful conclusions are obtained.展开更多

The effects of the weak lamination planes and interlayer bonding force of these layers on the failure strength and fracture patterns are studied systematically. Numerical simulations using particle flow code in two dimensions based on the discrete element method showed a good agreement with the experimental results in the failure strength and fracture patterns. The shale revealed strong anisotropic behavior with the failure strength perpendicular to the lamination plane greater than failure strength parallel to lamination plane. The failure strength of the different interlayer bonding force against the layer orientations changed significantly. Four types of fracture patterns were observed: curved fracture, broken-linear fracture, layeractivated fracture, and central-linear fracture. The observed fracture patterns are either or a combination of tensile and/or shear fractures. Increase in interlayer bonding strength decreased the quantity of micro cracks and this directly led to reduction in the anisotropic behavior. Overall the layer orientation and interlayer bonding force of the shale thus play a very important role in the anisotropic behavior of the shale.展开更多

The high-porosity Si3N4 ceramics exhibit a higher strength retention and a better resistance to thermal shock fatigue because of its role of the pores as crack arresters.A dense and coherent surface oxide layer leads to a significant benefit in residual strength during thermal fatigue, however, an increased fatigue number to 30 th cycle cannot cause a further influence although a thicker oxide layer presents, which is attributed to holes defect and disappearance of part intergranular phase.展开更多

The results show that the compound layer of plasma nitriding can delay the nucleation of heat cracks and hold back the propagation of heat cracks from surface to substrate because of its high hardness and strength. On the other land, the heat checking expands faster with the compound layer on the surface than that without it. After 3000 cycles of thermal fatigue test, both heat cracks with the compound layer are wider than the another without compound layer and the number of heat cracks of the former is more from the view of cross section.展开更多

In BaLn_2Mn_2O_7 there appear many phases, depending on the synthetic conditions for each rare earth. The tetragonal phase of so-called Ruddlesden-Popper type is the fundamental structure and many kinds of deformed modification of this structure are obtained. For BaEu_2Mn_2O_7 at least five phases have been identified from the results of X-ray diffraction analysis with the space group P4_2/mnm, Fmmm, Immm and A2/m in addition to the fundamental tetragonal I4/mmm phase. In the pyrochlore-related type compounds, Ln_2Mn_(2-x)M_xO_7 (M=Ta, Nb, W etc), there also appear several phases with different crystal structures. With regard to every rare earth, Ln_2MnTaO_7 phase is stable only for excess Ta and can be obtained under high oxygen partial pressure process. This group has trigonal structure with zirkelite type (P3_121 space group). On the other hand Ln_2Mn_(2/3)Nb_(4/3)O_7 phase has monoclinic (C2/c space group) and zirconolite type structure. All of these structural models have the fundamental structure based on HTB (hexagonal tungsten bronze) layers formed by the arrangement of oxygen octahedra.展开更多

The oxidation kinetics of Ni-11Fe-10Cu alloy followed parabolic law at 750 °C without spallation and linear law at 950 °C with severe spallation, while that of Ni-11Fe-10Cu-6Al-3Y alloy followed parabolic law at 750 and 950 °C without spallation. The parabolic rate constant (kp) of Ni-11Fe-10Cu was smaller than that of Ni-11Fe-10Cu-6Al-3Y at 750 °C. The oxide scale formed on Ni-11Fe-10Cu at 750 °C was composed of a CuO outer layer, a NiFe2O4 middle layer and a NiO inner layer. The oxide scale formed on Ni-11Fe-10Cu-6Al-3Y at 750 °C was also composed of the similar triplex layers in addition to an internal oxidation zone containing Al, Ni and Cu oxide and the microstructure of the scale changed with increasing temperature. Although the doping Al and Y could improve the adherence of oxide scale, it could aggravate the extent of internal oxidation. Based on the combination of X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron mi-croscopy/energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM/EDX) analysis, the microstructure and growth mechanism of the multi-layer oxide scale was studied and the effect of doping Al and Y on the oxidation behavior of Ni-11Fe-10Cu alloy was also discussed.展开更多

The dispersion relations of Lamb waves axe derived. Dispersion curves and displacement fields are calculated with different piezoelectric volume fractions. Numerical results for BaTiO3/CoFe2O4 composites show that the dispersion curves resemble the symmetric Lamb waves in a plate. Exchange between the longitudinal (i.e. thickness) mode and coupled mode takes place at the crossover point between dispersion curves of the first two branches. With the increase of BaTiO3 volume fraction, the crossover point appears at a lower wave number and wave velocity is higher. These findings are useful for magnetoelectric transducer applications.展开更多

The effects of the phase transition of the amorphous Ni–P plating and of Ni diffusion into the Cu matrix on the densification behavior, interfacial microstructure, and thermal conductivity(TC) of the GN/Cu composites were systematically investigated. The introduction of Ni–P electroless plating efficiently reduced the densification temperature of uncoated GF/Cu composites from 850 to 650℃ and slightly increased the TC of the X–Y basal plane of the GF/Cu composites with 20 vol%–30 vol% graphite flakes. However, when the graphite flake content was greater than 30 vol%, the TC of the GF/Cu composites decreased with the introduction of Ni–P plating as a result of the combined effect of the improved heat-transfer interface with the transition layer, P generated at the interface, and the diffusion of Ni into the matrix. Given the effect of the Ni content on the TC of the Cu matrix and on the interface thermal resistance, a modified effective medium approximation model was used to predict the TC of the prepared GF/Cu composites.展开更多

The joints have obvious crystallizing layer phenomenon with clear bond-like contours after laser welding. The results of X-spectrofluorimetry and energy spectrum analysis indicate that the non-uniform distribution of elements exists in crystallizing layer, because the temperature gradient is an important factor that impacts the alloy crystallization behavior. Furthermore, the effects of welding heat source, welding speed, pulse frequency and welding preheat on crystallizing layer distribution were investigated.展开更多

Based on the high spatiotemporal resolutions of the NPLS, the structure of the OPL is ana]ysed using wavelet methods. The coherent structures of the OPL are extracted using three methods, including the methods of thresholding the coefficients of the orthogonal wavelet transform and the wavelet packet transform, and preserving a number of wavelet packet coefficients with the largest amplitudes determined by the entropy dimension. Their performances are compared, and the method using the wavelet packet is the best. Based on the viewpoint of multifractals, we study the OPL by the wavelet transform maxima method (WTMM), and the result indicates that its scaling behaviour is evident.展开更多

The sample exhibits an insulator-to-metal transition at 87 K (TIM) and the spin-glass (SG)-like behavior is observed below 50 K (TSG). The transport behavior is analyzed in the entire temperature range considering three different regions: paramagnetic insulating region (T>TIM), ferromagnetic metallic region (TSG IM) and antiferromagnetic insulating region (TSG) by fitting the temperature dependent resistivity data to the equations governing the conduction process in the respective temperature regions. The results show that the conduction at T>TIM follows Mott variable range hopping (VRH) process, while the two-magnon scattering process is evidenced at TSG IM which is suppressed with the applied magnetic field of 4 T. The low temperature conductivity data are also fitted with Mott VRH equation. The sample exhibits a large MR (≈45%) over a temperature range???? 5 K – 50 K and it shows ≈32% MR at 5 K with a magnetic field of 0.5 T.展开更多

Their structure, thermal and crystallization properties were studied via X-ray diffraction(XRD), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), thermogravimetric analysis(TGA), differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), and polarized light microscopy(PLM). The nanoscaled dispersion of MgAI(DS) nanolayeres in the PP matrix was verified by the disappearance of the d(003) XRD diffraction peak of MgAI(DS) and observation of TEM image. The DSC data show that the SDS/LDH inorganic components negatively affect the crystallization properties of PP and decrease the size of PP sphcrulites because the inorganic components act as additional nuclei. The PP/MgA1 LDH nanocomposites have a faster charring progress in a temperature range of 250--430 ℃ and a better thermal stability above 320℃ than pure PP.展开更多

Given the effect of the Ni content on the TC of the Cu matrix and on the interface thermal resistance, a modified effective medium approximation model was used to predict the TC of the prepared GF/Cu composites.
文摘CO2 laser beam welding experiment of Ti3Al-Nb alloy was conducted by adopting overlay welding, the resulting special crystallization phenomenon of welding joint was analyzed. Furthermore, the effects of welding heat source, welding speed, pulse frequency and welding preheat on crystallizing layer distribution were investigated.

文摘The nano-particle-based planar laser scattering (NPLS) technique is used to measure the density distribution in the supersonic mixing layer of the convective Mach number 0.12, and the optical path difference (OPL), which is quite crucial for the study of aero-optics, is obtained by post processing. Based on the viewpoint of multifractals, we study the OPL by the wavelet transform maxima method (WTMM), and the result indicates that its scaling behaviour is evident.
文摘The electrical transport behavior and magnetoresistance (MR) of a polycrystalline double layered manganite La1.2Sr1.4Ba0.4Mn2O7, synthesized by the sol-gel method, are investigated in the temperature range 4.2 K - 300 K. 5 K – 50 K and it shows ≈32% MR at 5 K with a magnetic field of 0.5 T.

文摘Polypropylene(PP)/MgAl layered double hydroxide(MgAl LDH) nanocomposites were synthesized by refluxing PP and dodecyl sulfate-intercalated MgAI LDH[MgAI(DS)] in non-polar xylene. The PP/MgA1 LDH nanocomposites have a faster charring progress in a temperature range of 250--430 ℃ and a better thermal stability above 320℃ than pure PP.
