BACKGROUND In recent years,the rapid development of artificial intelligence(AI)in hepatobiliary surgery research has led to an increase in articles exploring its benefits.We performed a bibliometric analysis of AI app...BACKGROUND In recent years,the rapid development of artificial intelligence(AI)in hepatobiliary surgery research has led to an increase in articles exploring its benefits.We performed a bibliometric analysis of AI applications in hepatobiliary surgery to better delineate the contemporary state of AI application in hepatobiliary surgery and potential future trajectories.AIM To provide clinical practitioners with a reliable reference point.It offers a detailed overview of the development of AI in hepatobiliary surgery by systematically examining the contributions of authors,countries,institutions,journals,and keywords in this domain over the last 10 years.METHODS The academic resources utilized in this study were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection database.The search results were subsequently integrated and imported into CiteSpace and VOSviewer software for the purpose of visual analysis.RESULTS The study analyzed 2552 publications during 2014–2024.These publications collectively garnered 32628 citations,averaging 15.66 citations per paper.The top contributor to this field was China.The USA had the highest citation count.The author with the highest citation count was Summers RM.In terms of the number of articles published,the leading journals were Medical Physics.Excluding the subject search terms,the most frequently used keywords included“classification”,“CT and“diagnosis”.CONCLUSION This bibliometric analysis indicates that research on AI in hepatobiliary surgery has entered a period of rapid development,particularly in the domain of disease imaging diagnostics.展开更多
AIM:To provide a comprehensive review of the advances in research on diabetes-associated dry eye(DADE),highlighting its pathophysiological mechanisms,risk factors,and demographic characteristics,laying the foundation ...AIM:To provide a comprehensive review of the advances in research on diabetes-associated dry eye(DADE),highlighting its pathophysiological mechanisms,risk factors,and demographic characteristics,laying the foundation for further investigation into its pathogenesis and treatment strategies.METHODS:A systemic review of the documents related to DADE had been performed based on the Web of Science database prior to achieving the plain text files of authors,titles,journals,and abstracts which afterwards had been imported into Citespace and VOSviewer software for data cleansing.The visual analysis was implemented from the following aspects:journals’publications,author and national cooperation,keyword co-occurrence,timeline analysis,and burst detection.RESULTS:The 318 documents in 167 journals had been incorporated with the overall annual citations and annual publications respectively growing significantly since 2014 and 2016.The keyword co-occurrence networks formed 4 clusters,with the representative keywords being dry eye,diabetes mellitus,prevalence,and diabetic retinopathy.Both the timeline map and the burst detection demonstrated that in the exploration of the pathogenesis of DADE,initial research was dedicated to Sjögren’s syndrome,followed by cross-sectional statistical analysis of the pertinent contributing factors of DADE using online databases.Precisely the oxidative stress seemed to surge into the research spotlight presently.The key pathogenic mechanisms of DADE include inflammation,oxidative stress and corneal neuropathy,contributing to the development of dry eye symptoms.CONCLUSION:Age,gender,diabetes duration,and diabetic retinopathy are strongly associated with the development of DADE,but the impact of other systemic factors require further investigation.With high prevalence of dry eye in Asia,valuable resources like the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(KNHANES)database offer crucial data for developing risk prediction models for DADE.Building risk prediction models using machine learning algorithms is a promising future research direction,enabling physicians to identify high-risk individuals and implement early interventions.展开更多
Background:Hypertensive nephropathy remains a leading cause of end-stage renal disease with limited targeted therapies.Methods:We conducted a bibliometric analysis(1992-2024)of 440 basic studies from 7 databases,using...Background:Hypertensive nephropathy remains a leading cause of end-stage renal disease with limited targeted therapies.Methods:We conducted a bibliometric analysis(1992-2024)of 440 basic studies from 7 databases,using VOSviewer and R to quantify research evolution.Intervention modalities,signaling pathways,and mechanisms were innovatively extracted.Results:Quantified analysis revealed a distinct temporal evolution:early research was dominated by TGF-βsignaling,while starting from 2015,the focus of the research turned to podocyte-targeted studies.Traditional Chinese medicine compounds emerged as the predominant intervention,yet standardization deficits persisted across 73 formulas.Despite limited human pathological concordance,Spontaneously hypertensive rats models were utilized in most studies.Critically,only a few podocyte-focused therapeutics advanced to clinical trials,primarily hindered by species-specific Transient receptor potential channel expression divergence and mesenchymal stem cells renal delivery.Conclusion:Podocyte protection and standardized traditional Chinese medicine are potential translational targets,but there is a lack of reliable clinical trials for clinical verification.展开更多
Applying the Public-Private Partnership(PPP)model is indispensable in creating new economic growth points in the public service sector.However,there is still a lack of research on mapping the application of the PPP mo...Applying the Public-Private Partnership(PPP)model is indispensable in creating new economic growth points in the public service sector.However,there is still a lack of research on mapping the application of the PPP model in the new era and context.Therefore,based on reviewing the characteristics and development concepts of the PPP model,this paper uses CiteSpace software to analyze the sample authors,journals,and regions in the Scopus database.This paper aims to explore the current development status,research paradigms,and research gap as well as future trends of the PPP model.The results show that(1)The focus of PPP research has shifted from traditional models such as Build-Operate-Transfer(BOT)and Private Finance Initiatives(PFI)to contemporary themes such as risk management,policy analysis,and project governance.Subsequent research(2014-2018)has emphasized the importance of governance and regulatory frameworks to improve PPP outcomes.(2)The growing academic interest in PPP development in China accounts for 28.78%of the total publications.This surge reflects China's rapid economic growth and highlights the interplay between government regulation and private financing.Key research themes include risk management,performance evaluation,contractual flexibility,and financing mechanisms,particularly concerning the BOT model.(3)Effective risk management,relationship dynamics,and innovative financing strategies are key components of a strong PPP knowledge framework.Collaborative risk sharing and strong relationships between public and private entities are key to project success,and strategic financing partnerships are necessary to cope with the complexity of large infrastructure projects.展开更多
BACKGROUND Diabetes has a substantial impact on public health,highlighting the need for novel treatments.Ubiquitination,an intracellular protein modification process,is emerging as a promising strategy for regulating ...BACKGROUND Diabetes has a substantial impact on public health,highlighting the need for novel treatments.Ubiquitination,an intracellular protein modification process,is emerging as a promising strategy for regulating pathological mechanisms.We hypothesize that ubiquitination plays a critical role in the development and progression of diabetes and its complications,and that understanding these mechanisms can lead to new therapeutic approaches.AIM To uncover the research trends and advances in diabetes ubiquitination and its complications,we conducted a bibliometric analysis.METHODS Studies on ubiquitination in diabetes mellitus and its complications were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection.Visual mapping analysis was conducted using the CiteSpace software.RESULTS We gathered 791 articles published over the past 23 years,focusing on ubiquitination in diabetes and its associated complications.These articles originated from 54 countries and 386 institutions,with China as the leading contributor.Shanghai Jiao Tong University has the highest number of publications in this field.The most prominent authors contributing to this research area include Wei-Hua Zhang,with Zhang Y being the most frequently cited author.Additionally,The Journal of Biological Chemistry is noted as the most cited in this field.The predominant keywords included expression,activation,oxidative stress,phosphorylation,ubiquitination,degradation,and insulin resistance.CONCLUSION The role of ubiquitination in diabetes and its complications,such as diabetic nephropathy and cardiomyopathy,is a key research focus.However,these areas require further investigations.展开更多
BACKGROUND Cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB)is a life-support technology widely used in surgery.Review articles reflect research advances in a certain topic or field within a certain period of time.AIM To perform a bibliome...BACKGROUND Cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB)is a life-support technology widely used in surgery.Review articles reflect research advances in a certain topic or field within a certain period of time.AIM To perform a bibliometric analysis of the review articles that focused on CPB for cardiovascular surgery.METHODS This study was based on a bibliometric analysis.Data were acquired from the Web of Science and basic bibliometric parameters were analyzed and visualized using VOSviewer and Excel.RESULTS We identified 141 review articles on CPB.Generally,the number of publications increased,and most of them were published in the 2010s(n=57,40.4%)and the 2020s(n=45,31.9%).There were 113(80.1%)narrative review articles,21(14.9%)meta-analysis studies and 7(5.0%)systematic review papers.The United States(n=25,17.7%)and China(n=21,14.9%)were the leading countries in terms of publication number.The articles were published in 98 different journals.The Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia(n=14,10.0%)and Perfusion-United Kingdom(n=11,7.8%)were preferred by the authors.The high-frequency keywords included inflammatory response,children,acute kidney injury,meta-analysis and off-pump,except for CPB and cardiac surgery.Inflammatory response had the closest relationship with CPB during cardiac surgery.The complications of CPB,including inflammatory response,kidney injury and ischemia,caught lots of concern.CONCLUSION The rapid increase of review papers shows that the research on CPB in cardiac surgery is increasingly being emphasized by scholars and clinical staff worldwide.Meta-analysis has been widely conducted to analyze clinical controversies and further guide clinical practice.Strategies to improving the outcomes of patients undergoing cardiac surgery with CPB are the hot spots in this field.展开更多
As a key step in waste activated sludge(WAS)treatment and disposal,WAS dewatering can minimize the amount of WAS and decrease the costs of transportation,storage management,treatment,and disposal.Advanced oxidation pr...As a key step in waste activated sludge(WAS)treatment and disposal,WAS dewatering can minimize the amount of WAS and decrease the costs of transportation,storage management,treatment,and disposal.Advanced oxidation processes(AOPs)have been widely explored in WAS dewatering due to the excellent oxidizing properties and efficient decomposition capacity since the 21^(st)century.This review outlined the mechanisms of AOPs to improve WAS dewatering and pointed out the shortcomings of the existing mechanisms.Then,the applications of AOPs-based WAS dewatering processes for enhanced WAS dewatering were reviewed,and the intrinsic limitations of AOPs-based WAS dewatering processes in engineering applications were proposed.In addition,an overall review of AOPs-based WAS dewatering researches was also conducted through bibliometric analysis,and future research hotspots in the field of AOPs-based WAS dewatering were proposed.Finally,the positive effects of the AOPs-based WAS dewatering processes on pollutant removal and resource recovery were investigated,and an integrated plan for the harmless disposal of WAS was constructed to achieve a positive reform of the traditional WAS management plan.This review provided theoretical basis and technical reference for the development of efficient,economical,and environmental AOPs for enhanced WAS dewatering to facilitate the application of AOPs in actual WAS dewatering engineering.展开更多

This essential yardstick, often referred to as the impact of a specific researcher, is assessed through the use of various metrics. While researchers may be acquainted with such matrices, many do not know how to use them to enhance their careers. In addition to these metrics, a number of other factors should be taken into consideration to objectively evaluate a scientist＇s profile as a researcher and academician. Moreover, each metric has its own limitations that need to be considered when selecting an appropriate metric for evaluation. This paper provides a broad overview of the wide array of metrics currently in use in academia and research. Popular metrics are discussed and defined, including traditional metrics and article-level metrics, some of which are applied to researchers for a greater understanding of a particular concept, including varicocete that is the thematic area of this Special Issue of Asian Journal of Andrology. We recommend the combined use of quantitative and qualitative evaluation using judiciously selected metrics for a more objective assessment of scholarly output and research impact.展开更多
BACKGROUND Three-dimensional organoid culture systems have been established as a robust tool for elucidating mechanisms and performing drug efficacy testing.The use of gastric organoid models holds significant promise...BACKGROUND Three-dimensional organoid culture systems have been established as a robust tool for elucidating mechanisms and performing drug efficacy testing.The use of gastric organoid models holds significant promise for advancing personalized medicine research.However,a comprehensive bibliometric review of this burgeoning field has not yet been published.AIM To analyze and understand the development,impact,and direction of gastric organoid research using bibliometric methods using data from the Web of Science Core Collection(WoSCC)database.METHODS This analysis encompassed literature pertaining to gastric organoids published between 2010 and 2023,as indexed in the WoSCC.CiteSpace and VOSviewer were used to depict network maps illustrating collaborations among authors,institutions and keywords related to gastric organoid.Citation,co-citation,and burst analysis methodologies were applied to assess the impact and progress of research.RESULTS A total of 656 relevant studies were evaluated.The majority of research was published in gastroenterology-focused journals.Globally,Yana Zavros,Hans Clevers,James M Wells,Sina Bartfeld,and Chen Zheng were the 5 most productive authors,while Hans Clevers,Huch Meritxell,Johan H van Es,Marc Van de Wetering,and Sato Toshiro were the foremost influential scientists in this area.Institutions from the University Medical Center Utrecht,Netherlands Institute for Developmental Biology(Utrecht),and University of Cincinnati(Cincinnati,OH,United States)made the most significant contributions.Currently,gastric organoids are used mainly in studies investigating gastric cancer(GC),Helicobacter pylori-infective gastritis,with a focus on the mechanisms of GC,and drug screening tests.CONCLUSION Key focus areas of research using gastric organoids include unraveling disease mechanisms and enhancing drug screening techniques.Major contributions from renowned academic institutions highlight this field’s dynamic growth.展开更多
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the historical and linguistic coverage of Google Scholar, using publications in the field of Roman law as an example.Design/methodology/approach: To create a datase...Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the historical and linguistic coverage of Google Scholar, using publications in the field of Roman law as an example.Design/methodology/approach: To create a dataset of Roman law publications, we retrieved a total of 21,300 records of publications, published between years 1500 and 2016, with title including words denoting "Roman law" in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. Findings: We were able to find publications dating back to 1727. The largest number of publications and authors date to the late 19th century, and this peak might be explained by the role of Roman law in French legal education at the time. Furthermore, we found exceptionally skewed concentration of publications to authors, as well as of citations to publications. We speculate that this could be explained by the long time-frame of the study, and the importance of classic works. Research limitation: Major limitations, and potential future work, relate to data quality, and cleaning, disambiguation of publications and authors, as well as comparing coverage with other data sources. Practical implications: We find Google Scholar to be a promising data source for historical bibliometrics. This approach may help bridge the gap between bibliometrics and the "digital humanities".Originality/value: Earlier studies have focused mainly on Google Scholar's coverage of publications and citations in general, or in specific fields. BACKGROUND:A pathophysiological feature of septic organ failure is endothelial dysfunction in sepsis(EDS).The physiological and pathological mechanism of sepsis is considered to be vascular leakage caused by endotheli...BACKGROUND:A pathophysiological feature of septic organ failure is endothelial dysfunction in sepsis(EDS).The physiological and pathological mechanism of sepsis is considered to be vascular leakage caused by endothelial dysfunction.These pathological changes lead to systemic organ injury.However,an analysis using bibliometric methods has not yet been conducted in the field of EDS.This study was conducted to provide an overview of knowledge structure and research trends in the fi eld of EDS.METHODS:Based on previous research,a literature search was performed in the Web of Science Core Collection(WoSCC)for publications associated with EDS published between the year 2003 and 2023.Various types of data from the publications,such as citation frequency,authorship,keywords and highly cited articles,were extracted.The"Create Citation Report"feature in the WoSCC was employed to calculate the Hirsch index(h-index)and average citations per item(ACI)of authors,institutions,and countries.To conduct bibliometric and visualization analyses,three bibliometric tools were used,including R-bibliometrix,CiteSpace(co-citation analysis of references),and VOSviewer(co-authorship analysis of institutions,co-authorship analysis of authors,co-occurrence analysis of keywords).RESULTS:After excluding invalid records,the study finaly included 4,536 publications with 135,386 citations.Most of these publications originated in the USA,China,Germany,Canada,and Japan.Harvard University emerged as the most prolifi c institution,while professor Jong-Sup Bae and his research team at Kyungpook National University emerged as authors with the greatest infl uence.The"protein C","tissue factor","thrombin","glycocalyx",“acute kidney injury”,“syndecan-1”and“biomarker”were identifi ed as prominent areas of research.Future research may focus on molecular mechanisms(such as as vascular endothelial[VE]-cadherin regulation)and therapeutic interventions to enhance endothelial repair and function.CONCLUSION:Our findings show a growing interest in EDS research.Key areas for future research include signaling pathways,molecular mechanisms,endothelial repair,and interactions between endothelial cells and other cell types in sepsis.展开更多

Objective To analyze the intellectual structure,hotspots and trends of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)in immune regulation research.Methods The data were extracted from the Web of Science Core Collection(WoSCC)and t...Objective To analyze the intellectual structure,hotspots and trends of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)in immune regulation research.Methods The data were extracted from the Web of Science Core Collection(WoSCC)and the China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)and verified by two experienced TCM researchers.The time of literature retrieval is up to 2020.CiteSpace 5.7.R1 and Microsoft Excel 2016 were used for the statistical analysis and bibliometric diagrams,including the co-occurrence network of authors,institutions,countries,keywords,references,dual-map overlays of journals and citation bursts,etc.Results A total of 12270 publications related to TCM in immune regulation were included.The annual number of publications has increased in this field.There was close cooperation of countries and institutions,while the distribution of scholars was scattered.China was the core of the cooperation network.The dual-map overlays analysis of journals showed that core and marginal fields had increased.The keywords and references analysis showed that network pharmacology,metabolism and cancer were the most high-frequency keywords with high-intensity bursts.Conclusion TCM in immune regulation has attracted wider attention,with multi-country,multi-field,multi-disciplinary and multi-level research developing toward informatization.Network pharmacology,metabolism and cancer may be the focus of future research in this field.展开更多
Objective This study examined the research status and development process of FU Qingzhu’s Obstetrics and Gynecology(Fu Qing Zhu Nv Ke,《傅青主女科》,FQZNK)in the past 40 years with bibliometrics and visual analysis.M...Objective This study examined the research status and development process of FU Qingzhu’s Obstetrics and Gynecology(Fu Qing Zhu Nv Ke,《傅青主女科》,FQZNK)in the past 40 years with bibliometrics and visual analysis.Methods Retrieved all related literature in the research field of FQZNK from the domestic and foreign databases:China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),China Science and Technology Journal Database(VIP),Wanfang Database,and Web of Science(WOS)core database,including Science Citation Index Expanded(SCIE),Social Sciences Citation Index(SSCI),and Arts&Humanities Citation Index(A&HCI).The search range was from January 1,1980 to March 10,2021.In addition,bibliometrics and CiteSpace 5.7.R2 software were used to analyze literature types,published journals,cited literature,the number of author publica-tions,co-author networks,co-institution networks,keyword co-occurrence networks,keyword clusters,and keyword bursts.Results A total of 678 valid records were included in the final dataset.Literature types,high publication journals,highly cited literature,high-yield institutions,high-yield research teams,and high-productivity scholars in this research field were found through bibliometrics.Liter-ature types can be divided into four categories,among which 451 are theoretical studies on academic thoughts of FQZNK,accounting for 66.5%of the included journals.The Journal of Shanxi Traditional Chinese Medicine had the largest volume of published articles(61),ac-counting for 9.0%of the total number of the included journals.The most cited literature was ZHOU Mingxin’s article“Using the quantitative method to discuss author’s authenticity and formula characteristics of FU Qingzhu’s Obstetrics and Gynecology”,which was cited 94 times.Hunan University of Chinese Medicine,the institution with the most publications,published 45 articles,and YOU Zhaoling,the most published author,published 33 articles.Moreover,it was found that most high-yield researchers came from high-yield institutions and that Hun-an University of Chinese Medicine had the most research on FQZNK.Keyword co-occur-rence analysis revealed that the keyword“FQZNK”had the highest frequency(597 times)and the highest centrality(1.00).Keyword cluster analysis used the Log-Likelihood Ratio(LLR)al-gorithm to form eleven important clusters:#0 treatment aiming at its root causes,#1 gynecopathy,#2 Siwu Decoction(四物汤),#3 FU Qingzhu,#4 post-partum,#5 infertility,#6 dysmenorrhea,#7 sterility,#8 coordinate the heart and kidney,#9 Danggui Buxue Decoction(当归补血汤),and#10 treatment.It was found that the prescriptions of FQZNK were studied mainly before 2000,the theoretical studies were mainly conducted before 2010,and its clinic-al application was mainly explored from 2010 until now.Diseases such as dysmenorrhea,morbid vaginal discharge,infertility,metrorrhagia,and polycystic ovarian syndrome(PCOS)have recently become popular topics in this field.Conclusion The current study provides more scientific,accurate,and comprehensive sci-entific support for further research and development of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)in FQZNK.With this foundation,people can use burst detection to ascertain the current hot-spots in research,get their development trends,and forecast future research directions.In ad-dition,infertility,morbid vaginal discharge,flooding,and PCOS treatments based on TCM syndrome differentiation are currently popular research topics for FQZNK.展开更多
Based on bibliometrics and knowledge mapping analysis method,this paper uses CiteSpace,a visual literature analysis tool,to analyze 3794 related documents with the theme of“economic economy”in SCI and SSCI databases...Based on bibliometrics and knowledge mapping analysis method,this paper uses CiteSpace,a visual literature analysis tool,to analyze 3794 related documents with the theme of“economic economy”in SCI and SSCI databases from 2010 to 2020,including authors,institutions,subject headings and literature co-citation,so as to reveal the development and hot spots of ecological economic research.The results show that in recent years,the number of documents on ecological economic research has been increasing,and developed countries are dominant.China’s research in this field has developed rapidly and has certain advantages in terms of quantity and quality.The institution with the largest number of papers is Chinese Academy Science,followed by Beijing Normal University,University of Chinese Academy of Sciences,Peking University and Universitat autonomy de Barcelona;research hotspots in recent 10 years include“sustainability”,“management”,“climate change”,“impact”,“economy”,“china”,“conservation”,“ecosystem service”,etc.The top three journals are Sustainability,Journal of Cleaner Production,and Ecological Economics,accounting for about 10%of the total number of papers published.The hot spots of ecological economic research in 2010-2020 can be divided into three stages,with different theme words emerging in each stage.From 2018 to 2020,the theme word of high-strength emergence is“anthropocene”,which indicates that“anthropocene”may be the focus of future research.展开更多

Results： The annual number of published articles and cited studies increased. The published studies by RP Keeling and H Wechsler were at the forefront. ＂College student＂ and ＂alcohol＂ were prevalent key- words. University of Wisconsin and Harvard University were the institutional leaders of contributions. Conclusions： This journal provides an important platform for sharing research achievements and promoting cooperation in this field. The level of articles published is continually improving. A research cooperative network promoted by famous scholars and institutions is developing. However, crossregional and international cooperation is relatively limited.展开更多
Objective:To reflect the current situation and development level of the treatment of peri-menopausal insomnia,to provide ideas and basis for the treatment of peri-menopausal insomnia,and to lay a scientific foundation...Objective:To reflect the current situation and development level of the treatment of peri-menopausal insomnia,to provide ideas and basis for the treatment of peri-menopausal insomnia,and to lay a scientific foundation.Methods:The relevant literatures about peri-menopausal insomnia in the past 20 years from January 1,2000 to September 30,2020 were searched in full-text database,and the publication time distribution,periodical distribution and research types were statistically analyzed with the help of NoteExpress 4.2.0,Excel 2010 and UCINET 6.2 software.Bibliometrics and social network analysis were used to grasp the research status and research hotspots.Results:979 articles about insomnia in peri-menopausal period were included.The number of literatures showed an upward trend and decreased from 2018 to 2020.The top three journals are Inner Mongolia traditional Chinese Medicine,Guangming traditional Chinese Medicine and Sichuan traditional Chinese Medicine,with 30,25 and 22 articles respectively.A total of 1,846 authors participated in the publication.The top three authors were Hong Li(14,0.63%),Jun-Shan Huang(9,0.40%)and Ying Chen(9,0.40%).The social network map shows that“insomnia”,“peri-menopausal period”,“perimenopausal insomnia”,“peri-menopausal syndrome”,“traditional Chinese medicine therapy”and“acupuncture”are the research hotspots and have the strongest correlation.Conclusion:The number of articles about peri-menopausal insomnia shows a downward trend in recent years,and the“core author group”has not been formed.The clinical research in this field is relatively perfect,but a more complete theoretical system has not been formed yet.Most of the treatment of insomnia in peri-menopausal period is based on traditional Chinese medicine,which shows that traditional Chinese medicine is more effective in clinical use,and the curative effect of syndrome differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine has been affirmed.However,there are relative deficiencies,such as the lack of strict experimental research and evaluation standards,the lack of unilateral prescription research,and so on.Future researchers should pay more attention to the experimental research of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of peri-menopausal insomnia and unilateral empirical prescription research.展开更多

文摘In this editorial,we comment on the recent article by Fei et al exploring the field of near-infrared spectroscopy(NIRS)research in schizophrenia from a bibliometrics perspective.In recent years,NIRS has shown unique advantages in the auxiliary diagnosis of schizophrenia,and the introduction of bibliometrics has provided a macro perspective for research in this field.Despite the opportunities brought about by these technological developments,remaining challenges require multidi-sciplinary approach to devise a reliable and accurate diagnosis system for schizo-phrenia.Nonetheless,NIRS-assisted technology is expected to contribute to the division of methods for early intervention and treatment of schizophrenia.

文摘BACKGROUND In recent years,the rapid development of artificial intelligence(AI)in hepatobiliary surgery research has led to an increase in articles exploring its benefits.We performed a bibliometric analysis of AI applications in hepatobiliary surgery to better delineate the contemporary state of AI application in hepatobiliary surgery and potential future trajectories.AIM To provide clinical practitioners with a reliable reference point.It offers a detailed overview of the development of AI in hepatobiliary surgery by systematically examining the contributions of authors,countries,institutions,journals,and keywords in this domain over the last 10 years.METHODS The academic resources utilized in this study were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection database.The search results were subsequently integrated and imported into CiteSpace and VOSviewer software for the purpose of visual analysis.RESULTS The study analyzed 2552 publications during 2014–2024.These publications collectively garnered 32628 citations,averaging 15.66 citations per paper.The top contributor to this field was China.The USA had the highest citation count.The author with the highest citation count was Summers RM.In terms of the number of articles published,the leading journals were Medical Physics.Excluding the subject search terms,the most frequently used keywords included“classification”,“CT and“diagnosis”.CONCLUSION This bibliometric analysis indicates that research on AI in hepatobiliary surgery has entered a period of rapid development,particularly in the domain of disease imaging diagnostics.

文摘AIM:To provide a comprehensive review of the advances in research on diabetes-associated dry eye(DADE),highlighting its pathophysiological mechanisms,risk factors,and demographic characteristics,laying the foundation for further investigation into its pathogenesis and treatment strategies.METHODS:A systemic review of the documents related to DADE had been performed based on the Web of Science database prior to achieving the plain text files of authors,titles,journals,and abstracts which afterwards had been imported into Citespace and VOSviewer software for data cleansing.The visual analysis was implemented from the following aspects:journals’publications,author and national cooperation,keyword co-occurrence,timeline analysis,and burst detection.RESULTS:The 318 documents in 167 journals had been incorporated with the overall annual citations and annual publications respectively growing significantly since 2014 and 2016.The keyword co-occurrence networks formed 4 clusters,with the representative keywords being dry eye,diabetes mellitus,prevalence,and diabetic retinopathy.Both the timeline map and the burst detection demonstrated that in the exploration of the pathogenesis of DADE,initial research was dedicated to Sjögren’s syndrome,followed by cross-sectional statistical analysis of the pertinent contributing factors of DADE using online databases.Precisely the oxidative stress seemed to surge into the research spotlight presently.The key pathogenic mechanisms of DADE include inflammation,oxidative stress and corneal neuropathy,contributing to the development of dry eye symptoms.CONCLUSION:Age,gender,diabetes duration,and diabetic retinopathy are strongly associated with the development of DADE,but the impact of other systemic factors require further investigation.With high prevalence of dry eye in Asia,valuable resources like the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(KNHANES)database offer crucial data for developing risk prediction models for DADE.Building risk prediction models using machine learning algorithms is a promising future research direction,enabling physicians to identify high-risk individuals and implement early interventions.

文摘Background:Hypertensive nephropathy remains a leading cause of end-stage renal disease with limited targeted therapies.Methods:We conducted a bibliometric analysis(1992-2024)of 440 basic studies from 7 databases,using VOSviewer and R to quantify research evolution.Intervention modalities,signaling pathways,and mechanisms were innovatively extracted.Results:Quantified analysis revealed a distinct temporal evolution:early research was dominated by TGF-βsignaling,while starting from 2015,the focus of the research turned to podocyte-targeted studies.Traditional Chinese medicine compounds emerged as the predominant intervention,yet standardization deficits persisted across 73 formulas.Despite limited human pathological concordance,Spontaneously hypertensive rats models were utilized in most studies.Critically,only a few podocyte-focused therapeutics advanced to clinical trials,primarily hindered by species-specific Transient receptor potential channel expression divergence and mesenchymal stem cells renal delivery.Conclusion:Podocyte protection and standardized traditional Chinese medicine are potential translational targets,but there is a lack of reliable clinical trials for clinical verification.

文摘Applying the Public-Private Partnership(PPP)model is indispensable in creating new economic growth points in the public service sector.However,there is still a lack of research on mapping the application of the PPP model in the new era and context.Therefore,based on reviewing the characteristics and development concepts of the PPP model,this paper uses CiteSpace software to analyze the sample authors,journals,and regions in the Scopus database.This paper aims to explore the current development status,research paradigms,and research gap as well as future trends of the PPP model.The results show that(1)The focus of PPP research has shifted from traditional models such as Build-Operate-Transfer(BOT)and Private Finance Initiatives(PFI)to contemporary themes such as risk management,policy analysis,and project governance.Subsequent research(2014-2018)has emphasized the importance of governance and regulatory frameworks to improve PPP outcomes.(2)The growing academic interest in PPP development in China accounts for 28.78%of the total publications.This surge reflects China's rapid economic growth and highlights the interplay between government regulation and private financing.Key research themes include risk management,performance evaluation,contractual flexibility,and financing mechanisms,particularly concerning the BOT model.(3)Effective risk management,relationship dynamics,and innovative financing strategies are key components of a strong PPP knowledge framework.Collaborative risk sharing and strong relationships between public and private entities are key to project success,and strategic financing partnerships are necessary to cope with the complexity of large infrastructure projects.

文摘BACKGROUND Diabetes has a substantial impact on public health,highlighting the need for novel treatments.Ubiquitination,an intracellular protein modification process,is emerging as a promising strategy for regulating pathological mechanisms.We hypothesize that ubiquitination plays a critical role in the development and progression of diabetes and its complications,and that understanding these mechanisms can lead to new therapeutic approaches.AIM To uncover the research trends and advances in diabetes ubiquitination and its complications,we conducted a bibliometric analysis.METHODS Studies on ubiquitination in diabetes mellitus and its complications were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection.Visual mapping analysis was conducted using the CiteSpace software.RESULTS We gathered 791 articles published over the past 23 years,focusing on ubiquitination in diabetes and its associated complications.These articles originated from 54 countries and 386 institutions,with China as the leading contributor.Shanghai Jiao Tong University has the highest number of publications in this field.The most prominent authors contributing to this research area include Wei-Hua Zhang,with Zhang Y being the most frequently cited author.Additionally,The Journal of Biological Chemistry is noted as the most cited in this field.The predominant keywords included expression,activation,oxidative stress,phosphorylation,ubiquitination,degradation,and insulin resistance.CONCLUSION The role of ubiquitination in diabetes and its complications,such as diabetic nephropathy and cardiomyopathy,is a key research focus.However,these areas require further investigations.
文摘BACKGROUND Cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB)is a life-support technology widely used in surgery.Review articles reflect research advances in a certain topic or field within a certain period of time.AIM To perform a bibliometric analysis of the review articles that focused on CPB for cardiovascular surgery.METHODS This study was based on a bibliometric analysis.Data were acquired from the Web of Science and basic bibliometric parameters were analyzed and visualized using VOSviewer and Excel.RESULTS We identified 141 review articles on CPB.Generally,the number of publications increased,and most of them were published in the 2010s(n=57,40.4%)and the 2020s(n=45,31.9%).There were 113(80.1%)narrative review articles,21(14.9%)meta-analysis studies and 7(5.0%)systematic review papers.The United States(n=25,17.7%)and China(n=21,14.9%)were the leading countries in terms of publication number.The articles were published in 98 different journals.The Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia(n=14,10.0%)and Perfusion-United Kingdom(n=11,7.8%)were preferred by the authors.The high-frequency keywords included inflammatory response,children,acute kidney injury,meta-analysis and off-pump,except for CPB and cardiac surgery.Inflammatory response had the closest relationship with CPB during cardiac surgery.The complications of CPB,including inflammatory response,kidney injury and ischemia,caught lots of concern.CONCLUSION The rapid increase of review papers shows that the research on CPB in cardiac surgery is increasingly being emphasized by scholars and clinical staff worldwide.Meta-analysis has been widely conducted to analyze clinical controversies and further guide clinical practice.Strategies to improving the outcomes of patients undergoing cardiac surgery with CPB are the hot spots in this field.

文摘As a key step in waste activated sludge(WAS)treatment and disposal,WAS dewatering can minimize the amount of WAS and decrease the costs of transportation,storage management,treatment,and disposal.Advanced oxidation processes(AOPs)have been widely explored in WAS dewatering due to the excellent oxidizing properties and efficient decomposition capacity since the 21^(st)century.This review outlined the mechanisms of AOPs to improve WAS dewatering and pointed out the shortcomings of the existing mechanisms.Then,the applications of AOPs-based WAS dewatering processes for enhanced WAS dewatering were reviewed,and the intrinsic limitations of AOPs-based WAS dewatering processes in engineering applications were proposed.In addition,an overall review of AOPs-based WAS dewatering researches was also conducted through bibliometric analysis,and future research hotspots in the field of AOPs-based WAS dewatering were proposed.Finally,the positive effects of the AOPs-based WAS dewatering processes on pollutant removal and resource recovery were investigated,and an integrated plan for the harmless disposal of WAS was constructed to achieve a positive reform of the traditional WAS management plan.This review provided theoretical basis and technical reference for the development of efficient,economical,and environmental AOPs for enhanced WAS dewatering to facilitate the application of AOPs in actual WAS dewatering engineering.
文摘Traditionally, the success of a researcher is assessed by the number of publications he or she publishes in peer-reviewed, indexed, high impact journals. This essential yardstick, often referred to as the impact of a specific researcher, is assessed through the use of various metrics. While researchers may be acquainted with such matrices, many do not know how to use them to enhance their careers. In addition to these metrics, a number of other factors should be taken into consideration to objectively evaluate a scientist＇s profile as a researcher and academician. Moreover, each metric has its own limitations that need to be considered when selecting an appropriate metric for evaluation. This paper provides a broad overview of the wide array of metrics currently in use in academia and research. Popular metrics are discussed and defined, including traditional metrics and article-level metrics, some of which are applied to researchers for a greater understanding of a particular concept, including varicocete that is the thematic area of this Special Issue of Asian Journal of Andrology. We recommend the combined use of quantitative and qualitative evaluation using judiciously selected metrics for a more objective assessment of scholarly output and research impact.

文摘BACKGROUND Three-dimensional organoid culture systems have been established as a robust tool for elucidating mechanisms and performing drug efficacy testing.The use of gastric organoid models holds significant promise for advancing personalized medicine research.However,a comprehensive bibliometric review of this burgeoning field has not yet been published.AIM To analyze and understand the development,impact,and direction of gastric organoid research using bibliometric methods using data from the Web of Science Core Collection(WoSCC)database.METHODS This analysis encompassed literature pertaining to gastric organoids published between 2010 and 2023,as indexed in the WoSCC.CiteSpace and VOSviewer were used to depict network maps illustrating collaborations among authors,institutions and keywords related to gastric organoid.Citation,co-citation,and burst analysis methodologies were applied to assess the impact and progress of research.RESULTS A total of 656 relevant studies were evaluated.The majority of research was published in gastroenterology-focused journals.Globally,Yana Zavros,Hans Clevers,James M Wells,Sina Bartfeld,and Chen Zheng were the 5 most productive authors,while Hans Clevers,Huch Meritxell,Johan H van Es,Marc Van de Wetering,and Sato Toshiro were the foremost influential scientists in this area.Institutions from the University Medical Center Utrecht,Netherlands Institute for Developmental Biology(Utrecht),and University of Cincinnati(Cincinnati,OH,United States)made the most significant contributions.Currently,gastric organoids are used mainly in studies investigating gastric cancer(GC),Helicobacter pylori-infective gastritis,with a focus on the mechanisms of GC,and drug screening tests.CONCLUSION Key focus areas of research using gastric organoids include unraveling disease mechanisms and enhancing drug screening techniques.Major contributions from renowned academic institutions highlight this field’s dynamic growth.
文摘Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the historical and linguistic coverage of Google Scholar, using publications in the field of Roman law as an example.Design/methodology/approach: To create a dataset of Roman law publications, we retrieved a total of 21,300 records of publications, published between years 1500 and 2016, with title including words denoting "Roman law" in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. Findings: We were able to find publications dating back to 1727. The largest number of publications and authors date to the late 19th century, and this peak might be explained by the role of Roman law in French legal education at the time. Furthermore, we found exceptionally skewed concentration of publications to authors, as well as of citations to publications. We speculate that this could be explained by the long time-frame of the study, and the importance of classic works. Research limitation: Major limitations, and potential future work, relate to data quality, and cleaning, disambiguation of publications and authors, as well as comparing coverage with other data sources. Practical implications: We find Google Scholar to be a promising data source for historical bibliometrics. This approach may help bridge the gap between bibliometrics and the "digital humanities".Originality/value: Earlier studies have focused mainly on Google Scholar's coverage of publications and citations in general, or in specific fields. The historical coverage has, however, received less attention.

文摘BACKGROUND:A pathophysiological feature of septic organ failure is endothelial dysfunction in sepsis(EDS).The physiological and pathological mechanism of sepsis is considered to be vascular leakage caused by endothelial dysfunction.These pathological changes lead to systemic organ injury.However,an analysis using bibliometric methods has not yet been conducted in the field of EDS.This study was conducted to provide an overview of knowledge structure and research trends in the fi eld of EDS.METHODS:Based on previous research,a literature search was performed in the Web of Science Core Collection(WoSCC)for publications associated with EDS published between the year 2003 and 2023.Various types of data from the publications,such as citation frequency,authorship,keywords and highly cited articles,were extracted.The"Create Citation Report"feature in the WoSCC was employed to calculate the Hirsch index(h-index)and average citations per item(ACI)of authors,institutions,and countries.To conduct bibliometric and visualization analyses,three bibliometric tools were used,including R-bibliometrix,CiteSpace(co-citation analysis of references),and VOSviewer(co-authorship analysis of institutions,co-authorship analysis of authors,co-occurrence analysis of keywords).RESULTS:After excluding invalid records,the study finaly included 4,536 publications with 135,386 citations.Most of these publications originated in the USA,China,Germany,Canada,and Japan.Harvard University emerged as the most prolifi c institution,while professor Jong-Sup Bae and his research team at Kyungpook National University emerged as authors with the greatest infl uence.The"protein C","tissue factor","thrombin","glycocalyx",“acute kidney injury”,“syndecan-1”and“biomarker”were identifi ed as prominent areas of research.Future research may focus on molecular mechanisms(such as as vascular endothelial[VE]-cadherin regulation)and therapeutic interventions to enhance endothelial repair and function.CONCLUSION:Our findings show a growing interest in EDS research.Key areas for future research include signaling pathways,molecular mechanisms,endothelial repair,and interactions between endothelial cells and other cell types in sepsis.
文摘Of all forms of research that can be accepted as valuable investigations,bibliometrics is often thought to be one of the most accessible to the widest number of researchers.Qualitative methods like interviewing and ethnography require extensive training,time,and often need ethical approval.Even basic quantitative methods like using questionnaires require significant drafting,mastery of language,and ethical review.Bibliometrics,being based on the analysis of publicly-available bibliographic data,does not have these requirements.Unlike with these other research approaches,where the top software(e.g.,SPSS,NVIVO)are expensive for researchers to afford.

文摘Objective To analyze the intellectual structure,hotspots and trends of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)in immune regulation research.Methods The data were extracted from the Web of Science Core Collection(WoSCC)and the China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)and verified by two experienced TCM researchers.The time of literature retrieval is up to 2020.CiteSpace 5.7.R1 and Microsoft Excel 2016 were used for the statistical analysis and bibliometric diagrams,including the co-occurrence network of authors,institutions,countries,keywords,references,dual-map overlays of journals and citation bursts,etc.Results A total of 12270 publications related to TCM in immune regulation were included.The annual number of publications has increased in this field.There was close cooperation of countries and institutions,while the distribution of scholars was scattered.China was the core of the cooperation network.The dual-map overlays analysis of journals showed that core and marginal fields had increased.The keywords and references analysis showed that network pharmacology,metabolism and cancer were the most high-frequency keywords with high-intensity bursts.Conclusion TCM in immune regulation has attracted wider attention,with multi-country,multi-field,multi-disciplinary and multi-level research developing toward informatization.Network pharmacology,metabolism and cancer may be the focus of future research in this field.

文摘Objective This study examined the research status and development process of FU Qingzhu’s Obstetrics and Gynecology(Fu Qing Zhu Nv Ke,《傅青主女科》,FQZNK)in the past 40 years with bibliometrics and visual analysis.Methods Retrieved all related literature in the research field of FQZNK from the domestic and foreign databases:China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),China Science and Technology Journal Database(VIP),Wanfang Database,and Web of Science(WOS)core database,including Science Citation Index Expanded(SCIE),Social Sciences Citation Index(SSCI),and Arts&Humanities Citation Index(A&HCI).The search range was from January 1,1980 to March 10,2021.In addition,bibliometrics and CiteSpace 5.7.R2 software were used to analyze literature types,published journals,cited literature,the number of author publica-tions,co-author networks,co-institution networks,keyword co-occurrence networks,keyword clusters,and keyword bursts.Results A total of 678 valid records were included in the final dataset.Literature types,high publication journals,highly cited literature,high-yield institutions,high-yield research teams,and high-productivity scholars in this research field were found through bibliometrics.Liter-ature types can be divided into four categories,among which 451 are theoretical studies on academic thoughts of FQZNK,accounting for 66.5%of the included journals.The Journal of Shanxi Traditional Chinese Medicine had the largest volume of published articles(61),ac-counting for 9.0%of the total number of the included journals.The most cited literature was ZHOU Mingxin’s article“Using the quantitative method to discuss author’s authenticity and formula characteristics of FU Qingzhu’s Obstetrics and Gynecology”,which was cited 94 times.Hunan University of Chinese Medicine,the institution with the most publications,published 45 articles,and YOU Zhaoling,the most published author,published 33 articles.Moreover,it was found that most high-yield researchers came from high-yield institutions and that Hun-an University of Chinese Medicine had the most research on FQZNK.Keyword co-occur-rence analysis revealed that the keyword“FQZNK”had the highest frequency(597 times)and the highest centrality(1.00).Keyword cluster analysis used the Log-Likelihood Ratio(LLR)al-gorithm to form eleven important clusters:#0 treatment aiming at its root causes,#1 gynecopathy,#2 Siwu Decoction(四物汤),#3 FU Qingzhu,#4 post-partum,#5 infertility,#6 dysmenorrhea,#7 sterility,#8 coordinate the heart and kidney,#9 Danggui Buxue Decoction(当归补血汤),and#10 treatment.It was found that the prescriptions of FQZNK were studied mainly before 2000,the theoretical studies were mainly conducted before 2010,and its clinic-al application was mainly explored from 2010 until now.Diseases such as dysmenorrhea,morbid vaginal discharge,infertility,metrorrhagia,and polycystic ovarian syndrome(PCOS)have recently become popular topics in this field.Conclusion The current study provides more scientific,accurate,and comprehensive sci-entific support for further research and development of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)in FQZNK.With this foundation,people can use burst detection to ascertain the current hot-spots in research,get their development trends,and forecast future research directions.In ad-dition,infertility,morbid vaginal discharge,flooding,and PCOS treatments based on TCM syndrome differentiation are currently popular research topics for FQZNK.
文摘Based on bibliometrics and knowledge mapping analysis method,this paper uses CiteSpace,a visual literature analysis tool,to analyze 3794 related documents with the theme of“economic economy”in SCI and SSCI databases from 2010 to 2020,including authors,institutions,subject headings and literature co-citation,so as to reveal the development and hot spots of ecological economic research.The results show that in recent years,the number of documents on ecological economic research has been increasing,and developed countries are dominant.China’s research in this field has developed rapidly and has certain advantages in terms of quantity and quality.The institution with the largest number of papers is Chinese Academy Science,followed by Beijing Normal University,University of Chinese Academy of Sciences,Peking University and Universitat autonomy de Barcelona;research hotspots in recent 10 years include“sustainability”,“management”,“climate change”,“impact”,“economy”,“china”,“conservation”,“ecosystem service”,etc.The top three journals are Sustainability,Journal of Cleaner Production,and Ecological Economics,accounting for about 10%of the total number of papers published.The hot spots of ecological economic research in 2010-2020 can be divided into three stages,with different theme words emerging in each stage.From 2018 to 2020,the theme word of high-strength emergence is“anthropocene”,which indicates that“anthropocene”may be the focus of future research.

文摘Objective： To help readers around the world comprehensively understand the development of the journal and evolution of cooperation study, we employed a bibliometrics analysis for the Journal of American College Health. Methods： One-thousand-one-hundred-forty-three articles published in this journal from 1994 were analyzed using the bibliometrics and visualization software CiteSpace. Results： The annual number of published articles and cited studies increased. The published studies by RP Keeling and H Wechsler were at the forefront. ＂College student＂ and ＂alcohol＂ were prevalent key- words. University of Wisconsin and Harvard University were the institutional leaders of contributions. Conclusions： This journal provides an important platform for sharing research achievements and promoting cooperation in this field. The level of articles published is continually improving. A research cooperative network promoted by famous scholars and institutions is developing. However, crossregional and international cooperation is relatively limited.
文摘Objective:To reflect the current situation and development level of the treatment of peri-menopausal insomnia,to provide ideas and basis for the treatment of peri-menopausal insomnia,and to lay a scientific foundation.Methods:The relevant literatures about peri-menopausal insomnia in the past 20 years from January 1,2000 to September 30,2020 were searched in full-text database,and the publication time distribution,periodical distribution and research types were statistically analyzed with the help of NoteExpress 4.2.0,Excel 2010 and UCINET 6.2 software.Bibliometrics and social network analysis were used to grasp the research status and research hotspots.Results:979 articles about insomnia in peri-menopausal period were included.The number of literatures showed an upward trend and decreased from 2018 to 2020.The top three journals are Inner Mongolia traditional Chinese Medicine,Guangming traditional Chinese Medicine and Sichuan traditional Chinese Medicine,with 30,25 and 22 articles respectively.A total of 1,846 authors participated in the publication.The top three authors were Hong Li(14,0.63%),Jun-Shan Huang(9,0.40%)and Ying Chen(9,0.40%).The social network map shows that“insomnia”,“peri-menopausal period”,“perimenopausal insomnia”,“peri-menopausal syndrome”,“traditional Chinese medicine therapy”and“acupuncture”are the research hotspots and have the strongest correlation.Conclusion:The number of articles about peri-menopausal insomnia shows a downward trend in recent years,and the“core author group”has not been formed.The clinical research in this field is relatively perfect,but a more complete theoretical system has not been formed yet.Most of the treatment of insomnia in peri-menopausal period is based on traditional Chinese medicine,which shows that traditional Chinese medicine is more effective in clinical use,and the curative effect of syndrome differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine has been affirmed.However,there are relative deficiencies,such as the lack of strict experimental research and evaluation standards,the lack of unilateral prescription research,and so on.Future researchers should pay more attention to the experimental research of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of peri-menopausal insomnia and unilateral empirical prescription research.
