The Bauhaus School of Design is the most influential art school of the 20th century and the first higher design school in the world.Its unique educational model also provides a reference example for modern design educ...The Bauhaus School of Design is the most influential art school of the 20th century and the first higher design school in the world.Its unique educational model also provides a reference example for modern design education and also promotes the development of modern design to a certain extent.Since the Bauhaus design concept was introduced to China in the early 20th century,it has been widely studied and applied in China.This article mainly expounds on the different expressions of the idea of“skill integration”in the Bauhaus education concept in China’s architectural education system from the aspects of basic education and architectural design achievements.By promoting the comprehensive and open development of architectural design disciplines,and cultivating“theory and practice”and“technology and art”together,it creates an architectural design education and training system with Chinese characteristics,provides theoretical guidance for Chinese architectural education,and promotes the innovative development of China’s education system and talent training in the new era.展开更多

Although it is closed in the last century, its influence is still manifested in design industries now and will continue to spread its principles to designers and artists. Even, it has a profound influence upon subsequent developments in art, architecture, graphic design, interior design, fashion design and design education. Up until now, Bauhaus ideal has always been a controversial focus that plays a crucial role in the field of design. Not only emphasizing function but also reflecting the human-oriented idea could be the greatest progress on modern design and manufacturing. Even more, harmonizing the relationship between nature and human is the ultimate goal for all the designers to create their artworks. The paper focu...In modernist architecture, color serves as a crucial tool in shaping spatial experiences. However, due to historical reasons, the color design of early modernist architecturehas not been fully explored. The paper focuses on the iconic modernist work, the Bauhausschool building in Dessau. Through historical investigation and theoretical research, it elucidates the evolution of color cognition from the perspectives of color theory development,architectural color characteristics, and the interaction between visual perception and color.On this basis, it explores the color theory origins of the Bauhaus and Gropius, dissecting theconceptual framework and methods behind the color design of the Bauhaus school buildingin Dessau. Additionally, this article analyzes the spatial characteristics of architectural colorfrom an experiential standpoint. The paper argues that Gropius conveyed his concept of“natural perspective” through color design, emphasizing the eternal value of natural internal logic. The Bauhaus redefined the role of color in architectural expression, based on natural laws, and deduced a scientifically designed method related to perception, promoting ashift in color design from subjective to objective and injecting deeper connotations intoarchitectural color.展开更多
