Since the peaceful liberation of Tibet, outstanding achievements have been made in FAC work. However, compared with East and Middle China, there still exists a big gap. The farmers’ net income per capita in 2001 was 1,404 yuan, 962 yuan lower than the nation’s average. In late 90’s the farmers’ income growth slowed down. Agricultural industrialization is at low level, technologies play a small role in agricultural development, rural infrastructure is weak, the rural grass root organization is much underdeveloped, and construction of towns is behind the other regions of China. Based on the problems of FAC development there, this paper proposes FAC development strategies and measures for accelerating rural development in Tibet.展开更多

The unique high and cold climate, varied and changeable topography and social economic and human environment restrict population mobility in the region. Historically there were little statistic documents and the early data about population scale is poorly reliable. After the peaceful liberation of Tibet in 1951, its population went up continuously, and the growth rate has been higher than the national average level since 1964. The general tendency was that the pattern of population increase had changed within a short period. At first, the death rate was lowered quickly and the natural population increase speed was quickened, then, the death rate was lowered further, and the birth rate began to rise at a quick speed. After 1970, both the death rate and birth rate was generally stable, the level was relatively lower than before, the death rate slowed down at a quicker speed than the birth rate. The natural population increase rate rose extremely slowly, which formed the population development situation of fast but steady increase. The future population development tendency is that, the quick increase tendency characterized by young population will continue for quite a long time, and the pressure of future population increase upon resources environment will become increasingly great. The age structure and sex composition of population in Tibet, rather low since long time ago, became increasingly high upon entering the 1980s, but it was still the lowest one compared to other provinces or regions in China. The main reason is due to the low sex ratio of Tibetan infants and children caused by the low sex ratio of newly born infants and the high death rate of male infants, which will slow down the population increase in a limited way. There are few barren lands appropriate for farming and there exist many restricting factors for cultivation or utilization. With further increase in Tibetan population, it is inevitable that per capita available cultivated land will drop continuously. The problem of food supply in Tibet will still be the main issue in its regional development with the increase of population. It is impossible to support a quickly increasing population with the limited agricultural resources in Tibet. Therefore, the population development direction of Tibet can only be to tighten quantity control and to popularize family planning knowledge among Tibetan people. It is a fundamental strategic policy for the social and economic development in Tibet if family planning can be followed progressively on a voluntary basis.展开更多

Situation of income structures and income sources of the farmers in different areas (agricultural, animal husbandry areas and half agricultural and half animal husbandry areas etc. ) was approached. The following features were found through an analysis of surveyed data: (1) In Tibetan peasant household goods and products instead of money. disposable income and cash are very little. (2) The variety index of income is higher in the out skirt than it in rural, the index has a direct bearing on net income. (3) The income ways are simplistic and out-date in the poor households, they have no ability to resist and guard a-gainst any risk, it is very difficult to increase their receipts. (4) The living standard in agricultural areas is better than in pastoral areas, it is the worst in half agriculture and half animal husbandry areas.展开更多

文摘The Weining Beishan area of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region is located at on the western edge of the Helanshan tectonic belt, which is a tectonic joint among Alxa Block,Ordos Block, and North Qilian orogenic belt. However, the tectonic evolution of this area remains unclear due to the lack of magmatic information. This paper conducted researches on geochronology, geochemistry, and Sr-Nd-Hf isotopes of the diorite porphyrites exposed in the Weining Beishan area. The zircon U-Pb dating yields two ages of 145.0±1.1 and 146.2±1.5 Ma,and the whole-rock geochemical data indicate that the diorite porphyrites are metaluminous to weakly peraluminous and high-K calc-alkaline series. The characteristics of highly initial^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios(0.70816 to 0.71047),negativeε_(Nd)(t)(−8.9 to−8.4),and negativeε_(Hf)(t)(−13.8 to−21.2)indicate that the diorite porphyrites originated from partial melting of the middle-lower ancient crust related to the North China Craton.Combined with the regional geology,we suggested that partial melting was triggered by a tectonic activity of deep faults cutting through the crust under the regional stress transformation from compressing to extension during the Late Jurassic–Early Cretaceous, which is probably related to the westward subduction of the Paleo-Pacific Plate.
文摘The population of the Tibet Autonomous Region which is thinly scattered, is almost entirely Tibetan. It is a fundamental strategic policy for the social and economic development in Tibet if family planning can be followed progressively on a voluntary basis.
文摘BACKGROUND^(14)C urea breath test(^(14)C UBT)and immunohistochemical staining(IHC)are widely used for detection Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)infection with different sensitivity, and there is a difference in H.pylori infection rate in Uyghur and Han ethnic groups. Both need large cohort studies to evaluate the differences more accurately.AIM To analyze the difference between^(14)C UBT and IHC for H.pylori detection in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and the difference between Uyghur and Han populations.METHODS There were 3944 cases of H.pylori infection detected by both IHC and^(14)C UBT at the same time(interval<1 wk,with sampling site including gastric antrum, selected from 5747 patients). We compared the sensitivity of^(14)C UBT and IHC.We also compared 555 pairs of Han/Uyghur cases(completely matched for gender and age)for their H.pylori infection rates. The overall H.pylori infection rate of all 5747 cases and the correlation with other clinicopathological data were also further analyzed.SPSS V23.0 software was used for statistical analysis.RESULTS The sensitivity was 94.9%for^(14)C UBT and 65.1%for IHC,which was a significant difference(n=3944,P<0.001).However,among those cases negative for H.pylori by^(14)C UBT(detection value≤100),4.8%were positive by IHC.Combining both methods, the overall H.pylori infection rate was 48.6%(n=5747),and differences in gender, age group, ethnicity and region of residence significantly affected the H.pylori positive rates.According to age group(Han/Uyghur),the positive rates were≤30 years(62.2%/100.0%),31-40 years(45.2%/85.7%),41-50 years(47.2%/79.2%),51-60 years(44.6%/76.1%),61-70 years(40.9%/68.2%),71-80 years(41.7%/54.1%)and≥81 years(42.9%/NA).The H.pylori infection rates of Han/Uyghur paired cases were 41.4%and 73.3%,which was a significant difference(P<0.001)(555 pairs).H.pylori positivity was significantly related to moderate-severe grade 2-3 chronic/active gastritis and intestinal metaplasia(all P<0.05).CONCLUSION The sensitivity of^(14)C UBT was significantly higher, but combined application can still increase the accuracy. The prevention H.pylori should be emphasized for Uygur and young people.

文摘Ending poverty is a top priority of the international development agenda, and governments worldwide have attached great importance to poverty alleviation measures. However, poverty reduction policies have mostly focused on men, which has widened the gap in productivity and income between men and women and increased gender inequality. This paper aims to determine the impacts of a multi-component program on women's empowerment and poverty reduction, and explore the role empowered women play in poverty reduction. The dataset used in this study was collected in nine poor counties of Ulanqab City in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China at the end of 2014,yielding a sample of 900 households.Recall questions were used to reconstruct the baseline data and build a panel dataset.Smaller groups of rural households were further identified to better target the women in the beneficiary group. To control the selection bias, propensity score matching, inverse probability weighting, and the difference-in-differences matching method were used to analyze the effect of the program and undertake robust checks. The results show that the program has positive effects on women's empowerment and poverty reduction simultaneously.Empowering women also has positive effects on poverty reduction, and the women who were the beneficiaries have contributed to increasing the incomes and living standards of households.Training, microfinance, and associations are common means or strategies to empower women to address poverty. This paper provides new empirical evidence that women can benefit from a gender-focus program through portfolio intervention such as training, cooperatives, and credit.Empowered women further improve the livelihoods of poor households and help lift them out of poverty. The results suggest that researchers and policymakers need to pay more attention to poverty issues from the perspective of gender.

文摘Gold,iron,copper,lead-zinc and other mineral exploration in West Tianshan,Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, has made remarkable progress in recent years. However, due to the dispute on the tectonic division of West Tianshan, the ore-controlling factors and the regional metallogenic laws are controversial. The authors analyze regional gravity data and notice that the high-value region corresponds to the Yili ancient continent, thus the southeastern boundary of the Yili ancient continent is delineated.Comparative analysis of gravity, aeromagnetic and geologic data reveals that the Tulasu basin, where some medium to large epithermal gold deposits locate, lies above the Yili ancient continent;the Yili Carboniferous-Permian rift extends in E-W direction, numbers of copper deposits have been found in the mid-west section of the rift which lies above the Yili ancient continent, whereas few copper deposits have been discovered in the east section which is outside the Yili ancient continent.Accordingly, the Yili ancient continent may be rich in gold, copper and other metal elements;the metal-bearing hydrothermal solution moves up with the activity of magmatism, and deposits in the favorable places(the Tulasu basin and the Yili Carboniferous-Permian rift),forming numerous small and medium gold, copper deposits,as well as some large and super-large gold deposits. Therefore, the tectonic-magmatic hydrothermal zone above the Yili ancient continent should be the prospective area for epithermal gold and copper polymetallic deposits.

文摘Based on the sampling data this paper analyzes income structure of farmer (herdsman) of the Tibet Autonomous Region, including source, characteristics and cash. (4) The living standard in agricultural areas is better than in pastoral areas, it is the worst in half agriculture and half animal husbandry areas.
