AIM:To assess the effectiveness,safety,and costeffectiveness of the Argus II in treatment of the retinitis pigmentosa(RP)patients.METHODS:The Pro Quest,Web of Science,EMBASE,MEDLINE(via Pub Med)were searched using com...AIM:To assess the effectiveness,safety,and costeffectiveness of the Argus II in treatment of the retinitis pigmentosa(RP)patients.METHODS:The Pro Quest,Web of Science,EMBASE,MEDLINE(via Pub Med)were searched using combinations of the keywords of Argus,safety,effectiveness,bionic eye,retinal prosthesis,and RP through March 2018.The retrieved records were screened and then assessed for eligibility.RESULTS:Totally 926 records were retrieved from the searched databases and finally 12 studies included.The RP patients showed improvements in visual function after receiving the prosthesis,compared to the time before the prosthesis or the time it was off.This was measured by square localization,direction of motion,and grating visual acuity tests.No major adverse effect was reported for the Argus II prosthesis itself and/or the surgery to implement it,but the most frequently reported items were hypotony,and conjunctival dehiscence.The incremental cost-effectiveness ratio(ICER)was calculated to be€14603 per qualityadjusted life year(QALY)in UK and$207616 per QALY in Canada.CONCLUSION:The available evidence shows that the Argus II prosthesis in RP patients is effective in improvement of their visual function.Some minor adverse effects are reported for the prosthesis.The cost-effectiveness studies show that the technology is cost-effective only at high levels of willingness-to-pay.展开更多
The fish brain is crucial for adjusting to environmental changes.Metabolic changes play a vital role in the adaptation to salinity change in aquatic animals.However,few studies have evaluated the responses of the fish...The fish brain is crucial for adjusting to environmental changes.Metabolic changes play a vital role in the adaptation to salinity change in aquatic animals.However,few studies have evaluated the responses of the fish brain to salinity changes.To evaluate the response to various salinities,spotted scat(Scatophagus argus)was cultured in water with salinity levels of 5(low salinity:LS),25(control group:Ctrl),and 35(high salinity group:HS)for 22 days.The brain transcriptome was analyzed.In total,1698 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were identified between the HS and Ctrl groups,and 841 DEGs were identified between the LS and Ctrl groups.KEGG analysis showed that the DEGs in the HS vs.Ctrl comparison were involved in steroid biosynthesis,terpenoid backbone biosynthesis,fatty acid biosynthesis,ascorbate and aldarate metabolism,other types of O-glycan biosynthesis,and fatty acid metabolism.Glyoxylate and dicarboxylate metabolism,one carbon pool by folate,steroid biosynthesis,and cysteine and methionine metabolism were significantly enriched in the LS vs.Ctrl comparison.Additionally,the genes related to metabolism(acc,fas,hmgcr,hmgcs1,mvd,soat1,nsdhl,sqle,cel,fdft1,dnmt3a and mtr)were significantly up-regulated in the HS vs.Ctrl comparison.The genes related to metabolism(lipa,sqle,acc,fas,bhmt,mpst,dnmt3a,mtr,hao2,LOC111225351 and hmgcs1)were significantly up-regulated,while hmgcr and soat1 were significantly down-regulated in the LS vs.Ctrl compparison.These results suggest that salinity stress affects signaling pathways and genes’expressions involved in metabolic processes in the brain,and the differences in metabolism play an important role in adaptation to hyperhaline or hypohaline environments in spotted scat.This research provides a comprehensive overview of transcriptional changes in the brain under hyperhaline or hypohaline conditions,which is helpful to understand the mechanisms underlying salinity adaptation in euryhaline fishes.展开更多
[Objective] The aim of this study was to investigate effects of rhubarb decoction with different concentrations on the isolated intestinal movement performance of Ophicephalus argus,and to discuss its pharmacological ...[Objective] The aim of this study was to investigate effects of rhubarb decoction with different concentrations on the isolated intestinal movement performance of Ophicephalus argus,and to discuss its pharmacological mechanism.[Method] With RM6240C biological signal collection and processing system,tension values of the isolated intestine before and after the treatment by rhubarb decoction with different concentrations were recorded by the isolated organ method.[Result] Rhubarb decoction with concentration of 0.062 and 0.125 g/ml showed obvious enhancement on the isolated intestinal contraction of Ophicephalus argus,while rhubarb decoction with concentration of 0.250 and 0.500 g/ml showed inhibition on the isolated intestinal contraction of Ophicephalus argus.There was an extremely significant difference in rhubarb decoction with concentration of lower than 0.500 g/ml and more than 0.500 g/ml.With the increase of rhubarb concentration,the intestinal movement of Ophicephalus argus enhanced,but the contraction frequency did not change obviously.[Conclusion] Rhubarb decoction has remarkable effects on the contraction of smooth muscle in the isolated intestines of Ophicephalus argus.展开更多

文摘以乌鳢(Ophiocephalus argus)为研究对象,采用不同日粮饲喂,试验W1组饲喂冰鲜鱼,试验W2组饲喂畜禽内脏。12周后,取肠道内容物,利用16S rDNA技术研究投喂不同饲粮的乌鳢肠道生物群落结构差异和微生物多样性,分别获得W1组和W2组乌鳢肠道细菌有效序列51124和39298条。结果分析表明;W1组和W2组物种注释(operational taxonomic unit,OTU)数目分别为2631和4114条,分类地位明确的细菌种类分别隶属5个属和49个属,W1组和W2组乌鳢肠道细菌种类差异很大。W1组乌鳢肠道细菌的优势类群是邻单胞菌属(Plesiomonas)、狭义梭菌属(Clostridium sensu stricto)、鲸蜡菌属(Cetobacterium);W2组乌鳢肠道细菌的优势类群是狭义梭菌属(Clostridium sensu stricto)、邻单胞菌属(Plesiomonas)、Spartobacteria、甲基副球菌属(Methyloparacoccus)、杆菌属(Alsobacter)、Saccharibacteria、分支杆菌属(Mycobacterium)。W2组乌鳢肠道细菌香农指数高于W1组乌鳢肠道细菌,表明前者肠道细菌多样性大于后者。本实验揭示了畜禽内脏饲喂乌鳢肠道细菌的群落种类多样性、OTU丰富度和物种总数均高于冰鲜鱼饲喂乌鳢;W1组肠道有益菌OTU丰富度大于W2组,且W2组还存在一些潜在致病菌。本研究为乌鳢的健康养殖和后续肠道微生物资源的挖掘提供了理论依据。
