While climate change impacts on ancient societies are well-documented,their adaptation mechanisms remain poorly understood.This study examines ancient Chinese architecture,specifically focusing on the abrupt decline i...While climate change impacts on ancient societies are well-documented,their adaptation mechanisms remain poorly understood.This study examines ancient Chinese architecture,specifically focusing on the abrupt decline in the use of projecting arms in bracket sets during the cold period from the 3rd to 6th centuries—a phenomenon known as the“Six Dynasties Bracket Mystery”—to explore how architectural forms responded to climatic shifts.Based on an analysis of approximately 250 cases of quasi-architectural evidence,we identify a five-stage variation in the presence ratio of projecting arms over approximately 700 years,beginning in the early 1st century.By integrating this quantitative variation with high-resolution paleoclimate reconstructions and experimental analysis,this study demonstrates that climate change,particularly the abrupt cooling events during the 3rd–6th centuries,altered the functional requirements of building eaves,leading to the decline of projecting arms.Our study provides a reasonable explanation for the longstanding puzzle concerning bracket sets in ancient Chinese architectural research,emphasizing environmental adaptation rather than aesthetic or technological considerations.It also highlights architectural adaptation as a material expression of human responses to climate change,offering insights into the interplay between climate,socio-historical context,and architecture in ancient China.展开更多

The ISERA f...This paper introduces the Integrated Security Embedded Resilience Architecture (ISERA) as an advanced resilience mechanism for Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Operational Technology (OT) environments. The ISERA framework integrates security by design principles, micro-segmentation, and Island Mode Operation (IMO) to enhance cyber resilience and ensure continuous, secure operations. The methodology deploys a Forward-Thinking Architecture Strategy (FTAS) algorithm, which utilises an industrial Intrusion Detection System (IDS) implemented with Python’s Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS) library. The FTAS algorithm successfully identified and responded to cyber-attacks, ensuring minimal system disruption. ISERA has been validated through comprehensive testing scenarios simulating Denial of Service (DoS) attacks and malware intrusions, at both the IT and OT layers where it successfully mitigates the impact of malicious activity. Results demonstrate ISERA’s efficacy in real-time threat detection, containment, and incident response, thus ensuring the integrity and reliability of critical infrastructure systems. ISERA’s decentralised approach contributes to global net zero goals by optimising resource use and minimising environmental impact. By adopting a decentralised control architecture and leveraging virtualisation, ISERA significantly enhances the cyber resilience and sustainability of critical infrastructure systems. The residual oil in the fluvial reservoir of Gudong Oilfield is still widely developed even after decades of development.In order to explore the remaining oil in the subsurface fluvial reservoir,we need to have a bett...The residual oil in the fluvial reservoir of Gudong Oilfield is still widely developed even after decades of development.In order to explore the remaining oil in the subsurface fluvial reservoir,we need to have a better understanding on fluvial sandbody characteristics.This paper aims to demonstrate how to quantify anatomy on meandering fluvial architecture.Sedimentologic data from core descriptions of Guantao Formation in Gudong Oilfield were used to identify architectural elements.The upper Guantao Formation consists of ten lithofacies composing five different types of architectural elements.By integrating the available core,well logs,and seismic data,the fluvial sandbody distribution was analyzed.To characterize the fluvial channel geomorphology,we used seismic inversion to explore the stratigraphic correlation and stacking patterns of different channels,and the sandbody isopach map was obtained by the sandbody thickness in each layer.The architectural elements distribution in the plane was mapped by the sandbody isopach map and its profile characteristics.According to the investigation of meandering fluvial outcrops,subsurface meandering fluvial seismic geomorphology,and modern river morphology,the upstream-bar portions are always eroded because of the downstream channel migration.Statistics on the morphometric parameters(bar width/looplength,upstream deflection angle,downstream deflection angle,etc.)of modern meandering river(Ob River)were obtained from the Google Earth.It is found that the bar width/looplength and upstream deflection angle,upstream deflection angle and downstream deflection angle in modern meandering river have a good relationship,and we can have a quantitative architectural characterization on the point bar.This study quantified lithofacies thickness and proportion in different architectural elements of Guantao Formation,which ensures a high resolution anatomy on the small scale architecture.By using this method,the lithofacies proportion in each architectural element was computed,and through the statistics of architectural elements proportion in the Gudong Oilfield,the different lithofacies proportions in the block 6 can be computed.展开更多

文摘为深入了解国际建筑遗产保护研究现状,以该领域唯一一本Web of Science核心数据库收录期刊《International Journal of Architectural Heritage》为研究对象,结合文献计量学方法,针对该刊2014-2018年间刊载的342篇文章的来源地、第一作者所属机构、关键词和文章内容进行统计分析,并从建筑遗产的结构性能、测绘勘察、材料分析等方面,归纳提炼研究主题,与国内研究现状进行横向对比。分析表明,国际建筑遗产科技领域当前研究结构以结构性能为主,以材料表征、测绘勘察、环境科学等为辅的多主题交融互动,研究对象的选择偏倚,研究方法的多元交叉验证倾向等特征,国内研究在定量分析、学科交叉、研究内容深度和广度的拓展方面尚存在发展空间。
文摘In order to solve the problems of high coupling and poor scalability of the traditional monomer early warning release system architecture,multi-level deployment in a complex network environment will lead to high investment in software and hardware and cannot achieve intensive multi-level deployment.This paper realizes the goal of system scalability by introducing micro service architecture and technology stack and realizes the goal of resource intensification by introducing the idea of a data forwarding agent.The designed architecture scheme has been practically applied in the“Jiangxi emergency early warning information release system software platform(phase I)project”(hereinafter referred to as“provincial emergency”),which meets the needs of flexible deployment of multi-level applications across meteorological wide area network(WAN),business private network of other commissions,offices,and bureaus,government extranet,Internet and other complex networks,and fully verifies the scientificity and rationality of the scheme.It has achieved the goal of intensive and scalable construction of provincial emergencies under the complex network environment,greatly improved the early warning capacity and communication capacity of emergencies and comprehensive disasters,provided a reliable guarantee for disaster prevention and reduction,and provided a reference for the construction of current and future early warning release system and capacity improvement project.

文摘Plant root systems,a crucial component of biogeotechnics,have been recognized as a promising and sustainable strategy to address novel challenges in geotechnical engineering,i.e.,climate change(Ng et al.,2022).Root-soil composite and root-reinforced slopes have re-ceived widespread attention in recent decades,due to the ability of root to regulate soil properties through mechanical reinforcement and hy-draulic transpiration(Li&Duan,2023;Ni et al.,2024).Fig.1 provides a co-occurrence network plot of plant root-based soil reinforcement strategies published over the last decade,where three clusters are identified with different colors.On the left of the network map,clusters in red and blue are primarily driven by geotechnical investigations of vegetated slopes(i.e.,plant root reinforced slopes)and root-soil com-posite/root-permeated soils,as denoted by the terms like"model","test","slope","strength"and"vegetation",while the green cluster on the right side demonstrates botany-related domains,for instance,"plant growth",Indeed,the reinforcement of vegetated soil strength is com-plex and varies significantly with an abundance of factors,both me-chanically and hydraulically.Particularly,the impact of root mor-phology and architecture cannot be negligible,including keywords"root area ratio"root distribution""root morphology"root diame-ter"root density"in Fig.1 with the root size and root depth ranking foremost.

文摘The residual oil in the fluvial reservoir of Gudong Oilfield is still widely developed even after decades of development.In order to explore the remaining oil in the subsurface fluvial reservoir,we need to have a better understanding on fluvial sandbody characteristics.This paper aims to demonstrate how to quantify anatomy on meandering fluvial architecture.Sedimentologic data from core descriptions of Guantao Formation in Gudong Oilfield were used to identify architectural elements.The upper Guantao Formation consists of ten lithofacies composing five different types of architectural elements.By integrating the available core,well logs,and seismic data,the fluvial sandbody distribution was analyzed.To characterize the fluvial channel geomorphology,we used seismic inversion to explore the stratigraphic correlation and stacking patterns of different channels,and the sandbody isopach map was obtained by the sandbody thickness in each layer.The architectural elements distribution in the plane was mapped by the sandbody isopach map and its profile characteristics.According to the investigation of meandering fluvial outcrops,subsurface meandering fluvial seismic geomorphology,and modern river morphology,the upstream-bar portions are always eroded because of the downstream channel migration.Statistics on the morphometric parameters(bar width/looplength,upstream deflection angle,downstream deflection angle,etc.)of modern meandering river(Ob River)were obtained from the Google Earth.It is found that the bar width/looplength and upstream deflection angle,upstream deflection angle and downstream deflection angle in modern meandering river have a good relationship,and we can have a quantitative architectural characterization on the point bar.This study quantified lithofacies thickness and proportion in different architectural elements of Guantao Formation,which ensures a high resolution anatomy on the small scale architecture.By using this method,the lithofacies proportion in each architectural element was computed,and through the statistics of architectural elements proportion in the Gudong Oilfield,the different lithofacies proportions in the block 6 can be computed.

文摘Further promotion of urbanization has resulted in the broken integrity of architectural environment and cultural system of traditional villages, and some traditional villages with historical architectural styles have been on the verge of extinction. Against the background of building "beautiful Zhejiang and good life", Ningbo City has to optimize the livable environment continuously, integrate natural, humanistic, green, characteristic and comfortable elements into the beautiful countryside construction, thus it is urgent to explore the cultural characteristics and functions of architectural environment in traditional villages. Cultural characteristics and functions of architectural environment in traditional villages of Ningbo should be more systematic, legalized, and scientific. This paper reviewed concepts and cultural connotations of traditional villages, and integrated cultural characteristics and functions of regional architectural environment in traditional villages of Ningbo, and provided references for theoretic researches on the formation of characteristic regional architectural cultures in traditional villages of Ningbo.

文摘Through analyzing the form, materials, building techniques of vernacular dwellings in Jinzhai County, Anhui Province, this study tries to explore the influence of agricultural eco-environment on the form of folk houses, points out that vernacular dwellings are fully combined with local traditional agricultural environment from site selection, spatial form, architectural style, building materials and detail designs, which unifies the economic and environmental benefits of vernacular dwellings.
文摘Through elaborating the relationship between color planning and urban planning, this paper analyzes the regional features of urban architectural color, concludes the causes of color confusion, that is project approval and construction should in accordance with planning requirements and focuses on commercial operation,etc.. The author proposes that regional features should be taken into the consideration in the planning of urban architectural color. First, set the city′s dominant color, applying coordinated colors on the principal past of the main constructions. Second, Taking urban architectural color into the detail planning indicator system as instructive suggestions, especially architectural color on both sides of main and secondary roads and in significant regions should be applied for authority. Third, construction projects in key regions and of large scales should be submitted to the administrative departments, those projects of disqualified colors should be prohibited.

文摘Architectural skyline is an important part of urban landscape, also is the most direct expression of "first impression". However, with the development of the city, the shaping of the skyline that is contrary to the concept of aesthetics and the position of skyline in the urban form has been gradually ignored. Based on the interpretation of traditional architecture aesthetics theories, the paper introduced its rules as a guide into the development of city architectural skyline, analyzed and concluded the aesthetic characteristics of architectural skyline from the aspects of architectural form and naturalism. It provided theoretical guidance and method reference in the consideration of the creation and development on the city architectural skyline.
