To explore the feasibility of electrospray-based additive manufacturing for thin-film fabrication in zero-or microgravity environments,we conducted numerical simulations of charged droplet behavior under zero-gravity ...To explore the feasibility of electrospray-based additive manufacturing for thin-film fabrication in zero-or microgravity environments,we conducted numerical simulations of charged droplet behavior under zero-gravity conditions,followed by ground-based experimental validation using an anti-gravity electrospray(AG-ES)strategy.First,simulations of charged droplet deposition during the electrospray process showed that the presence or absence of gravity did not significantly affect deposition behavior.Second,simulations of droplet-substrate collisions indicated that the presence of an electric field could reduce the risk of droplet splashing.Third,simulations of droplet coalescence under zero-gravity conditions demonstrated that an electric field could promote the coalescence of charged droplets.An AG-ES experimental platform featuring an inverted nozzle-substrate configuration was constructed on the ground.Comparative experiments using Rhodamine B solution and TiO_(2)nanoparticle dispersions were performed in both AG-ES and conventional electrospray(ES)modes.The results indicated that the spray cone angle,deposition area,and film morphology were comparable between the two modes.Finally,multilayer alternating-current electroluminescent(ACEL)devices were fabricated via AG-ES using ZnS:Cu/poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene)(PVDF-HFP),BaTiO_(3)/polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP),and silver nanowire(AgNW)inks,achieving a maximum luminance of 66.2 cd/m^(2).This study demonstrates the potential of the electrospray process for functional thin-film fabrication under microgravity conditions.展开更多

Background: Commonly, skin and clothing surface contamination screening (radiation survey) is performed for residents of an area to confirm the levels of residual contamination after nuclear power disasters. Examiners...Background: Commonly, skin and clothing surface contamination screening (radiation survey) is performed for residents of an area to confirm the levels of residual contamination after nuclear power disasters. Examiners for such a screening often wear white radiation hazmat suits. However, it has been reported that examinees tend to feel tension or anxiety. In this study, we focus on the color of the radiation hazmat suit as one measure to reduce residents’ tension or anxiety. This study aims to determine the common conceptions of radiation hazmat suits based on color. Methods: An anonymous self-administered questionnaire survey was conducted with a total of 262 participants consisting of nursing students, administrative staff of a university, general citizens, and mothers raising their children in the Tohoku region in Japan. The common impressions of radiation hazmat suits, which are typically white, were measured using the Multiple Affective States Scale. This scale can measure the affective state brought about by clothing. The color of white (W) was defined as a standard color commonly used for hazmat suits;in order to determine the common impressions of radiation hazmat suits based on color, the following additional colors were shown to the participants: salmon pink (P), ivory (I), and light green (G). Results: There were no sex differences regarding common impressions of radiation hazmat suits. For white radiation hazmat suits, a high score reflecting the characteristic of “capable” was obtained, while the scores for “cheerful” and “calm” were low, and those for “depressed” and “tense” were high. The colors that showed the highest score for “calm” as a positive affirmative state were I and P. W and P reflected a high “ashamed” score, and the “tense” score for G was higher for the participants in their 20s than for those in their 30s and older. Conclusions: Results show that the color of hazmat suits provokes far greater feelings of anxiety and tension on participants than previously thought. Radiation hazmat suits may be further improved based on the results of this study.展开更多

Positive relative energy PRE can be generated between...Dark matter is identified as negative relative energy between quarks in proton and is generated in cold hydrogen gas with pressure gradient in gravitational field. Positive relative energy PRE can be generated between quarks in protons in cold hydrogen gas in outskirts of the universe. The mechanisms for such creation of dark matter and PRE are reviewed and updated in greater detail and clearer manner. The so-generated dark matter in a galaxy can account for the galaxy’s rotation curve. Star formation in this galaxy uses up the hydrogen atoms and thereby reduces its dark matter content. Dark matter created in intergalactic hydrogen gas can form filaments. In a hypothetical model of the universe, a hydrogen atom with a small amount of negative relative energy or dark matter at the outskirts of this universe can via collisions with other atoms turn into one with a small positive relative energy PRE. Once such a sign change takes place, gravitational attraction switches to anti-gravity repulsion unopposed by any pressure gradient. This leads to a “run away” hydrogen atom moving away from the mass center of the universe and provides a basic mechanism for the accelerating expansion of the universe. This theoretical expansion and the measured redshift data are both compatible with the conception of an acceleratingly expanding universe and complement each other. But they cannot verify each other directly because the present model has been constructed for purposes different from those of the measurements. But it can be shown that both approaches do support each other qualitatively under certain circumstances for small velocities. Dark matter and PRE in the present model are not foreign objects like WIMPs and dark energy-cosmological constant but can only be created in cold hydrogen gas in gravitational field. To achieve this, infrequent collisions among the hydrogen atoms must take place. Dark matter was created first and can eventually later evolve into PRE in the outskirts of the universe and in the intergalactic void. Through nine times tries of marking two suits with the CAD marking module, the fabric length and rates are derived. The formulas of the marking fabric length, the length total, and the girth total are obtained by using SPSS software. Moreover, by comparing the two incorporation methods of cutting in which one in the arithmetic sequence and the other in the geometric sequence, it is found that the one in the arithmetic sequence is better than the one in the geometric sequence.展开更多
