Background While China’s socioeconomic transformation has driven divergent trends in gastrointestinal cancers,comprehensive data on esophageal,gastric,and liver cancer burden remain limited.This study examines the gl...Background While China’s socioeconomic transformation has driven divergent trends in gastrointestinal cancers,comprehensive data on esophageal,gastric,and liver cancer burden remain limited.This study examines the global burden of esophageal,gastric,and liver cancers in 2022 and analyzes the trends of age-standardized incidence and mortality rate(ASRs)in China from 2000 to 2018,thereby providing evidence for the formulation of cancer control strategies.Methods The global burden of esophageal,gastric and liver cancers including the estimated number of cases and deaths and the ASRs for incidence and mortality were from GLOBALCAN 2022 dataset.Data from 22 cancer registries in China were employed for the trend analysis of the ASRs for incidence and mortality of these three cancers.The Joinpoint model was used to compute the average annual percentage change(AAPC)of the incidence and mortality of the three cancers from 2000 to 2018.Results Globally,esophageal,gastric and liver cancers accounted for 11.8%of incident cancer cases and 19.1%of cancer deaths.China bore a disproportionately high burden,representing 43.8%,37.0%,and 42.4%of global esophageal,gastric,and liver cancer cases respectively,and 42.1%,39.4%,and 41.7%of corresponding deaths.However,the ASRs for incidence and mortality for all three cancers declined significantly in China(2000–2018),with absolute case numbers decreasing for gastric and esophageal cancers during 2010–2022.Age-specific analysis revealed most pronounced declines in incidence and mortality in populations under 40 years old,with AAPCs of less than–6.0%for esophageal cancer,around–4.0%for gastric cancer,and approximately–2.0%for liver cancer.Conclusions China has achieved remarkable progress in controlling esophageal,gastric and liver cancers,yet these malignancies remain major public health challenges.Future efforts should intensify existing prevention measures while expanding screening programs,particularly for aging populations.These findings offer valuable insights for regions undergoing similar epidemiological transitions.展开更多
The dominant annual cycle of sea surface temperature(SST)in the tropical Pacific exhibits an antisymmetric mode,which explains 83.4%total variance,and serves as a background of El Niño-Southern Oscillation(ENSO)....The dominant annual cycle of sea surface temperature(SST)in the tropical Pacific exhibits an antisymmetric mode,which explains 83.4%total variance,and serves as a background of El Niño-Southern Oscillation(ENSO).However,there is no consensus yet on its anomalous impacts on the phase and amplitude of ENSO.Based on data during 1982-2022,results show that anomalies of the antisymmetric mode can affect the evolution of ENSO on the interannual scale via Bjerknes feedback,in which the positive(negative)phase of the antisymmetric mode can strengthen El Niño(La Niña)in boreal winter via an earlier(delayed)seasonal cycle transition and larger(smaller)annual mean.The magnitude of the SST anomalies in the equatorial eastern Pacific can reach more than±0.3◦C,regulated by the changes in the antisymmetric mode based on random sensitivity analysis.Results reveal the spatial pattern of the annual cycle associated with the seasonal phase-locking of ENSO evolution and provide new insight into the impact of the annual cycle of background SST on ENSO,which possibly carries important implications for forecasting ENSO.展开更多

In the tropical regions represented by Hainan,there are abundant solar and thermal resources,and it is relatively suitable for the construction of photovoltaic greenhouse(PVG).However,the construction of PVG still rel...In the tropical regions represented by Hainan,there are abundant solar and thermal resources,and it is relatively suitable for the construction of photovoltaic greenhouse(PVG).However,the construction of PVG still relies mainly on experience and is incapable of quantifying the balance between the photovoltaic(PV)generation and the light requirements for agricultural production.As a result,actual PVGs are primarily PV-based,without carefully considering the needs of agricultural daylighting.To quantify the influence of the design parameters of PVGs and the layout of PV panels on the internal daylighting of serrated PVGs,and to optimize the daylighting design of the roof,this paper utilizes the Design Builder software to establish gradient models for a multi-span serrated-type PVG in tropical regions.Gradient models were established in terms of aspects,namely span,width of longitudinal/transverse daylighting strip,height,roof angle,and photovoltaic panel coverage rate(PCR).Daylighting in the greenhouse of each gradient model was simulated,and with the annual average daily light integral(A_(DLI))and distribution uniformity(DU)as evaluation indicators,the influence of various design parameters on the daylighting inside the greenhouse was quantified.The result reveals that:(1)PCR is the decisive indicator for daylighting in the PVG,and a function between PCR and the A_(DLI) is derived as A_(DLI)=-15.5 PCR+16.841;(2)Increasing the width of longitudinal daylighting strip significantly improves the A_(DLI) and enhances DU while increasing the span has a noticeable effect on improving A_(DLI) but does not significantly enhance DU;(3)Increasing the eave height without changing PCR does not enhance A_(DLI) but effectively improves DU;increasing the transverse daylighting strip and adjusting the roof angle hardly improves A_(DLI).In summary,it is recommended that the optimal span for PVGs in tropical regions be set within the range of 6.5-8.0m,and the eave height be set within the range of 2.5-3.5m.Preferably,the longitudinal daylighting strip with a width ranging from 0.5-0.8m should be installed.Based on the above relationship function,the PCR can be calculated according to the appropriate light demand for the cultivated crops.The daylighting design theory proposed in this paper can provide a theoretical basis and reference for the healthy development of the PV industry in tropical regions.展开更多

Encroachment on wetlands has led to substantial economic and environme...Wetlands play a number of vital roles in the ecosystem, such as serving as nutrient sinks, preventing floods, storing carbon, and filtering water. Encroachment on wetlands has led to substantial economic and environmental losses, including water quality degradation, loss of biodiversity and natural habitats, reduced climate mitigation as well as social and health risks. This study evaluated the effect of different land use types on nutrient stock distribution across varying soil depths in Busega wetland. The soil samples were collected in three different land uses (annually cultivated areas, perennially cultivated areas, and the undisturbed wetland area) at three different depths (0 - 10 cm, 10 - 20 cm, and 20 - 30 cm) in 2021. The soil samples were analyzed for physicochemical soil properties including soil texture and nitrogen, phosphorus, calcium, and potassium concentrations. The interaction between land use type and soil depth did not have a significant effect on nutrient distribution. However, our results showed that the main effects of land use type and soil depth influenced nutrient stock distribution across the wetland. Higher nutrient concentrations were observed under perennial cropping system than in both annual cropping system and the undisturbed wetland area. Soils under perennial cropping systems had the highest soil organic matter (1.45%), calcium (2.06 Cmol/Kg) and potassium (0.091 Cmol/Kg) levels. Higher soil organic matter (1.40%), nitrogen (0.22%), calcium (1.74 Cmol/Kg), and potassium (0.07 Cmol/Kg) were found at the mid-soil depth of 10 - 20 cm. Our results show substantial nutrient changes due to agricultural activities in the Busega wetland, suggesting further research is urgently needed to determine if these changes have adverse effects on biodiversity and water quality of the wetland and nearby water resources.展开更多

Recovering waste heat is essential for primary energy savings and carbon emission reduction.To provide direct and reliable suggestions for factories to recover waste heat,energetic,economic and exergoeconomic comparis...Recovering waste heat is essential for primary energy savings and carbon emission reduction.To provide direct and reliable suggestions for factories to recover waste heat,energetic,economic and exergoeconomic comparison between direct heat exchange(DHE)and open-cycle mechanical heat pump(MHP)under various operating conditions is carried out in this work.The price ratios R_(ES)(electricity to steam)and R_(HS)(hot water to steam)are introduced to quantify regional impacts and conduct quantitative analysis.A semi-empirical formula is obtained to explore the exergoeconomic performance of the two systems.For waste heat within 373.15-423.15 K,the exergy efficiency of the DHE with a temperature difference of 10-90 K is always lower than that of the MHP with a temperature lift of 10-50 K.The economic performance of the two systems has a break-even point,depending on the operating parameters and relative prices of electricity,steam,and hot water.Under the average R_(ES)(3.8)in China,if R_(HS)is higher than 0.748,the annual revenue of the DHE is always higher,whereas the MHP is more economical when R_(HS)is lower than 0.110.In regions where R_(ES)is higher than 4.353,the annual revenue of the MHP will be negative in some cases.展开更多

文摘In the tropical regions represented by Hainan,there are abundant solar and thermal resources,and it is relatively suitable for the construction of photovoltaic greenhouse(PVG).However,the construction of PVG still relies mainly on experience and is incapable of quantifying the balance between the photovoltaic(PV)generation and the light requirements for agricultural production.As a result,actual PVGs are primarily PV-based,without carefully considering the needs of agricultural daylighting.To quantify the influence of the design parameters of PVGs and the layout of PV panels on the internal daylighting of serrated PVGs,and to optimize the daylighting design of the roof,this paper utilizes the Design Builder software to establish gradient models for a multi-span serrated-type PVG in tropical regions.Gradient models were established in terms of aspects,namely span,width of longitudinal/transverse daylighting strip,height,roof angle,and photovoltaic panel coverage rate(PCR).Daylighting in the greenhouse of each gradient model was simulated,and with the annual average daily light integral(A_(DLI))and distribution uniformity(DU)as evaluation indicators,the influence of various design parameters on the daylighting inside the greenhouse was quantified.The result reveals that:(1)PCR is the decisive indicator for daylighting in the PVG,and a function between PCR and the A_(DLI) is derived as A_(DLI)=-15.5 PCR+16.841;(2)Increasing the width of longitudinal daylighting strip significantly improves the A_(DLI) and enhances DU while increasing the span has a noticeable effect on improving A_(DLI) but does not significantly enhance DU;(3)Increasing the eave height without changing PCR does not enhance A_(DLI) but effectively improves DU;increasing the transverse daylighting strip and adjusting the roof angle hardly improves A_(DLI).In summary,it is recommended that the optimal span for PVGs in tropical regions be set within the range of 6.5-8.0m,and the eave height be set within the range of 2.5-3.5m.Preferably,the longitudinal daylighting strip with a width ranging from 0.5-0.8m should be installed.Based on the above relationship function,the PCR can be calculated according to the appropriate light demand for the cultivated crops.The daylighting design theory proposed in this paper can provide a theoretical basis and reference for the healthy development of the PV industry in tropical regions.

文摘The annual maximum rainfall event(AMRE)refers to the maximum consecutive five-day rainfall in a year.In North China,these events account for 15%–80%of the total summer(June–August)rainfall amount and pose a great challenge for subseasonal-to-seasonal forecasting.Based on data analyses during 1979–2023,this study shows the interannual variability of AMRE is significantly influenced by the phase and amplitude mode of the annual cycle of the East Asian summer monsoon(EASM),characterized by two orthogonal patterns of southeasterly winds at 850 h Pa over the northwestern Pacific.The EASM phase-locked AMRE shows heavy rainfall events occurring extremely early and late in Beijing and surrounding areas,corresponding to the peak southeasterly wind anomalies in June and August.The EASM amplitude-locked AMRE exhibits extreme heavy or light rainfall over southwest areas with normal phase.Therefore,AMRE has a potential predictability on the seasonal time scale due to its phase-and amplitude-locking with the slow variation of the annual cycle of the EASM.

文摘Wetlands play a number of vital roles in the ecosystem, such as serving as nutrient sinks, preventing floods, storing carbon, and filtering water. Encroachment on wetlands has led to substantial economic and environmental losses, including water quality degradation, loss of biodiversity and natural habitats, reduced climate mitigation as well as social and health risks. This study evaluated the effect of different land use types on nutrient stock distribution across varying soil depths in Busega wetland. The soil samples were collected in three different land uses (annually cultivated areas, perennially cultivated areas, and the undisturbed wetland area) at three different depths (0 - 10 cm, 10 - 20 cm, and 20 - 30 cm) in 2021. The soil samples were analyzed for physicochemical soil properties including soil texture and nitrogen, phosphorus, calcium, and potassium concentrations. The interaction between land use type and soil depth did not have a significant effect on nutrient distribution. However, our results showed that the main effects of land use type and soil depth influenced nutrient stock distribution across the wetland. Higher nutrient concentrations were observed under perennial cropping system than in both annual cropping system and the undisturbed wetland area. Soils under perennial cropping systems had the highest soil organic matter (1.45%), calcium (2.06 Cmol/Kg) and potassium (0.091 Cmol/Kg) levels. Higher soil organic matter (1.40%), nitrogen (0.22%), calcium (1.74 Cmol/Kg), and potassium (0.07 Cmol/Kg) were found at the mid-soil depth of 10 - 20 cm. Our results show substantial nutrient changes due to agricultural activities in the Busega wetland, suggesting further research is urgently needed to determine if these changes have adverse effects on biodiversity and water quality of the wetland and nearby water resources.

文摘Recovering waste heat is essential for primary energy savings and carbon emission reduction.To provide direct and reliable suggestions for factories to recover waste heat,energetic,economic and exergoeconomic comparison between direct heat exchange(DHE)and open-cycle mechanical heat pump(MHP)under various operating conditions is carried out in this work.The price ratios R_(ES)(electricity to steam)and R_(HS)(hot water to steam)are introduced to quantify regional impacts and conduct quantitative analysis.A semi-empirical formula is obtained to explore the exergoeconomic performance of the two systems.For waste heat within 373.15-423.15 K,the exergy efficiency of the DHE with a temperature difference of 10-90 K is always lower than that of the MHP with a temperature lift of 10-50 K.The economic performance of the two systems has a break-even point,depending on the operating parameters and relative prices of electricity,steam,and hot water.Under the average R_(ES)(3.8)in China,if R_(HS)is higher than 0.748,the annual revenue of the DHE is always higher,whereas the MHP is more economical when R_(HS)is lower than 0.110.In regions where R_(ES)is higher than 4.353,the annual revenue of the MHP will be negative in some cases.
