The systems would also allow H...Development and implementation of pilgrims (Hajj) Guide application to be used at Hajj season would facilitate follow-up of campaign supervisors on their campaign’s safety and location. The systems would also allow Hajj and Umrah administration to manage the crowd of the campaigns in an easy manner. In this paper, we propose Android/iPhone application that allows Hajj administration to monitor pilgrims using Quick Response Codes. Using quick response code application allows campaign supervisors and Hajj and Umrah employees to monitor pilgrims and guide them in case of getting lost. The application offers an easier and faster service than traditional approach used at Hajj season by human guidance. It is a very convenient service that would relief stresses of pilgrim’s relatives who worry about their relatives performing Hajj. The results show that the average score of our approach (QR) is 4.72 out of 5 comparing with traditional mobile applications indicating that the users are feeling enjoyable while using the new application features and the system is easy to use. Finally, the systems would assist in achieving the highest degree of pilgrims safety at Hajj season.展开更多
The evolution of technology in 1990s resulted in the enormous growth of smartphones and the propagation of mobile applications (App) that marked new opportunities for healthcare centers and medical education. Apps hav...The evolution of technology in 1990s resulted in the enormous growth of smartphones and the propagation of mobile applications (App) that marked new opportunities for healthcare centers and medical education. Apps have altered health services from patient’s health monitoring to specialist’s appointments and consultations from specialized health facilities. It can be argued that a healthy society can bring forth sustainable economic development to its full potential while an unhealthy society cannot. However, a free movement of people, labour and right to residence which was built across East Africa (EA) borders enabled Tanzania and Kenya borders to have enormous interactions. Subsequently, increase the risk of highly communicable diseases such as Tuberculosis and Sexually transmitted infections in such a way that medical attention is unavoidable along the borders. Statistically, Android Operating System (OS) owns 83% of Africa’s mobile OS market. In addition, 25,794,560 internet users reported by Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) together with the 22.86 million internet users provided by Kenya Digital which is equivalent to 46% and 43% of internet penetration in year 2020, disclose the need for Android mobile application for mapping health facilities both online and offline using Google map API, which will solve residents’ need to healthcare services on the presence or shortage of internet connections;using either Swahili or English language via Smartphone devices. The App incorporates Monitoring and Evaluation (M & E) tool for tracking application usage which will ease Admin’s task to generate daily and monthly reports in Excel and Comma-Separated Values (CSV) formats. The developed system received positive feedback from EA citizens and residents in the Arusha region and Namanga border crossing where 90.2% of the system evaluation conducted between Dec 2020 and Apr 2021 agreed upon App usage.展开更多

People will become more reliant on applications such as SMS, MMS, Internet Access, Online Transactions, and so on due to such features and capabilities. Thousands of devices ranging from low-cost phones to high-end luxury phones are powered by the Android operating system, which has dominated the smartphone marketplace. It is about making it possible for people from all socioeconomic backgrounds to get and use mobile devices in their daily activities. In response to this growing popularity, the number of new applications introduced to the Android market has skyrocketed. The recent appearance of a wide range of mobile malware has caught the attention of security professionals and scholars alike. In light of the ongoing expansion of the mobile phone industry, the likelihood of it being used in criminal activities will only continue to rise in the future. Mobile devices are being deployed rapidly for both private and professional reasons.One area of that has been growing is in releasing healthcare applications into the mobile marketplaces for health management.These ap...Mobile devices are being deployed rapidly for both private and professional reasons.One area of that has been growing is in releasing healthcare applications into the mobile marketplaces for health management.These applications help individuals track their own biorhythms and contain sensitive information.This case study examines the source code of mobile applications released to GitHub for the Risk of Insufficient Cryptography in the Top Ten Mobile Open Web Application Security Project risks.We first develop and justify a mobile OWASP Cryptographic knowledge-graph for detecting security weaknesses specific to mobile applications which can be extended to other domains involving cryptography.We then analyze the source code of 203 open source healthcare mobile applications and report on their usage of cryptography in the applications.Our findings show that none of the open source healthcare applications correctly applied cryptography in all elements of their applications.As humans adopt healthcare applications for managing their health routines,it is essential that they consider the privacy and security risks they are accepting when sharing their data.Furthermore,many open source applications and developers have certain environmental parameters which do not mandate adherence to regulations.In addition to creating new free tools for security risk identifications during software development such as standalone or compiler-embedded,the article suggests awareness and training modules for developers prior to marketplace software release.展开更多
