Al electrodes are well known as ohmic contact electrodes for the PTC component , the influence of their thickness on final component properties was investigated by comparing their ohmic characteristics with the ones of InGa electrodes . After observing the Al paste physical and chemical behaviors during rising temperature by thermal analysis (DTA), the firing operation of Al electrodes could be divided into three main subsections: the temperature rising time (t-r), the peak firing temperature (T-p) and the hold time at peak firing temperature (t-h). The effects of these three parameters on final component properties were discussed in detail. 展开更多

The resistive switching characteristics of TiO_2 nanowire networks directly grown on Ti foil by a single-step hydrothermal technique are discussed in this paper. The Ti foil serves as the supply of Ti atoms for growth of the TiO_2 nanowires, making the preparation straightforward. It also acts as a bottom electrode for the device. A top Al electrode was fabricated by e-beam evaporation process. The Al/TiO_2 nanowire networks/Ti device fabricated in this way displayed a highly repeatable and electroforming-free bipolar resistive behavior with retention for more than 10~4 s and an OFF/ON ratio of approximately 70. The switching mechanism of this Al/TiO_2 nanowire networks/Ti device is suggested to arise from the migration of oxygen vacancies under applied electric field. This provides a facile way to obtain metal oxide nanowire-based Re RAM device in the future. 展开更多

Simple and efficient surface acoustic wave (SAW) two-port resonators with low insertion loss and high Q-values on ST-X quartz substrate using a corrosion-proof A1/Au-stripe electrode structure are developed for gas sensing. It was composed of two shorted grating reflectors and adjacent intedigital transducers (IDT), and an active metal film in the cavity between the IDTs for the sensitive film coating. The devices are expected to provide good protection towards metal electrode for gas sensors application in chemically reactive environments. Excellent device performance as low insertion loss, high Q factor and single-mode are achieved by carefully selecting the metallic electrode thickness, cavity length and acoustic aperture. Prior to fabrication, the coupling of modes (COM) model was performed for device simulation to determine the optimal design parameters. The fabricated single-mode SAW resonator at operation frequency of 300 MHz range exhibits matched insertion loss of ~6.5 dB and loaded Q factor in the 3000 range. Using the fabricated resonator as the feedback element, a duaresonator-oscillator with excellent frequency stability (0.1 ppm) was developed and evaluated experimentally, and it is significant for performance improvement of SAW gas sensor. 展开更多
