The ammonium salt corrosion is a typical failure mode for the hydrogenation reaction effluent air cooler(REAC) system. In order to investigate the corrosion characteristics in the REAC system, numerical simulations were performed by using the mixture model, the heating transfer model, and the particles tracking model. The results show that the differences between the temperature and the velocity at each cross section of the first-row and second-row tubes are small. The inertia of the particles plays an important role in the particle’s deposition, and the smaller particles distribute more uniformly in the air cooler. However, for larger particles, they prefer falling from the inner side of the vertical elbow, and preferentially depositing at the inlet header and pipes before saturation. In the heat exchanger tubes, the particle deposition number is larger in the second-row tubes than that in the first-row tubes, and the high-risk tubes mainly concentrate on the middle and right side of the air cooler. The kinetic parameters of the particles are in accordance with the blocking-prone position in many real operating conditions. 展开更多

Corrosion leakage occurred in the 14th tube bundle in the first row of a residual oil hydrotreating air cooler after operating for two years.The failure location was 0.5 m from the outlet header box.In this paper,the erosion corrosion of the air cooler tube bundle was investigated by experimental and numerical methods.Visual inspection,scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and X-ray diffraction(XRD)experiments were performed,and the failure morphology and material composition confirmed that the damage was caused by erosion corrosion.The shear stress transport k–ωturbulence model(SST-k–ω)was then used to investigate the flow and erosion corrosion characteristics,combined with mass transfer,corrosion rate,and ionization equilibrium models.The numerical simulation results revealed that the water phase volume fraction increased with flow and heat transfer in the fluid,which increased the mass flow rate and concentration of hydrogen sulfide.The mass transfer coefficient and corrosion rate were proposed as important parameters to characterize erosion corrosion.Moreover,the local concentration of wall shear stress was found to increase the risk of erosion corrosion.The predicted high-risk area was consistent with the actual failure area,which verified that this failure incident was attributable to erosion corrosion by the water phase. 展开更多

The air cooler is an important equipment in the petroleum refining industry.Ammonium chloride(NH4 Cl)deposition-induced corrosion is one of its main failure forms.In this study,the ammonium salt crystallization temperature is chosen as the key decision variable of NH4 Cl deposition-induced corrosion through in-depth mechanism research and experimental analysis.The functional link neural network(FLNN)is adopted as the basic algorithm for modeling because of its advantages in dealing with non-linear problems and its fast-computational ability.A hybrid FLNN attached to a small norm is built to improve the generalization performance of the model.Then,the trained model is used to predict the NH4 Cl salt crystallization temperature in the air cooler of a sour water stripper plant.Experimental results show the proposed improved FLNN algorithm can achieve better generalization performance than the PLS,the back propagation neural network,and the conventional FLNN models. 展开更多

Corrosion leakages often occur in the air cooler of a hydrocracking unit,with the failure sites mainly located in the entrance area of the tubes.An analysis of the macroscopic morphology and corrosion products confirmed that the damage was caused by erosion-corrosion(E-C).Numerical and experimental methods were applied to investigate the E-C mechanism in the air cooler.Computational fluid dynamics(CFD)was used to calculate the hydrodynamic parameters of the air cooler.The results showed that there was a biased flow in the air cooler,which led to a significant increase in velocity,turbulent kinetic energy and wall shear within 0.2 m of the tube entrance.A visualization experiment was then performed to determine the principles of migration and transformation of multiphase flow in the air cooler tubes.Various flow patterns(pure droplet flow,mist flow,and annular flow)and their evolutionary processes were clearly depicted experimentally.The initiation mechanism and processes leading to the development of E-C in the air cooler were also determined.This study provided a comprehensive explanation for the E-C failures that occur in air coolers during operation. 展开更多

Pressure drop of the film-enlarged tube bundles in air-water two-phase cross flow in evaporative air cooler

An experiment was carried out to investigate the relation of the maximum velocity of air passing through narrowest passage, mass flux of spray water in one square meter in one hour and the pressure drop of tube bundles. Twelve equations were obtained for the relation. The results show that the pressure drop of the tube bundles increases with increase of the maximum velocity of air and the mass flux of spray water. Comparing the pressure drop of the bare tube bundles with that of the film-enhanced tube bundles, it is found that the pressure drop of the film-enhanced tube bundles is lower about 11% and the surface roughness of the film-enhanced plates is a main factor that influences the pressure drop. The data and method obtained in the paper can be used to compute the pressure drop of the film-enhanced tube bundles and is helpful for selection of fan. 展开更多

This research presents a new method to boost the efficiency of evaporative coolers by integrating magnetized water and a heat exchanger.Magnetized water,known for its high evaporation rate and reduced surface tension,offers a promising way to enhance air cooler performance.Additionally,the advanced heat exchanger both improves air cooling capacity and controls humidity levels.Aloni 100 L,a locally manufactured evaporative cooling system,and tap water were used in experiments.Tap water was magnetized using recycled magnets extracted from computer hard drives.Twenty-six magnets meticulously arranged within rectangular grooves,each with a minimum strength of 0.5 to 1T,were used tomagnetize tapwater.Our experiments showa significant rise in cooling efficiency,with magnetized water increasing from 70.62%to 91.43%.In a similar vein,adding the heat exchanger leads to a significant improvement,raising the cooling efficiency from 69.44%to 93.96%.Furthermore,the combined use of magnetized water and a heat exchanger results in exceptional performance,increasing cooling efficiencies by 29.5%and 35.3%compared to using only magnetized water or only a heat exchanger,respectively.This study also explores the largely untapped potential of magnetized water,providing valuable insights into its effects on water properties and its broader applications in various fields.These findings represent a significant advancement in air cooling technology and pave the way for more energy-efficient and sustainable solutions. 展开更多

针对油田空冷器能效评价缺乏系统性方法与标准指标的问题,为提高能源利用效率,基于热力学第一、第二定律,构建融合总传热系数、压降与[火用]效率的综合能效评价模型。通过文献调研与HTRI软件在多工况下的模拟分析,确定模型关键无量纲指... 针对油田空冷器能效评价缺乏系统性方法与标准指标的问题,为提高能源利用效率,基于热力学第一、第二定律,构建融合总传热系数、压降与[火用]效率的综合能效评价模型。通过文献调研与HTRI软件在多工况下的模拟分析,确定模型关键无量纲指数m=0.107、n=0.504,计算得出在流速1 m/s工况下,热流体进口温度90℃(出口70℃)与80℃(出口60℃)时,能效指标(EEI)分别达到峰值7.182和7.815。采集油田实测数据,对比模拟值与实测值验证模型可靠性,负荷、压降、总传热系数相对误差均小于5%。结果表明,所提出的EEI指标能够同时反映能量质与量的利用效率,优于传统单耗评价方法。研究可为空冷器运行优化、节能改造及能效标识分级提供理论参考与技术支撑。 展开更多

以带回热器的跨临界CO_(2)热泵空调系统为基础,设计搭建了跨临界CO_(2)驻车热泵空调系统实验台,通过控制车内回风温度、压缩机频率和车内送风量等参数,研究了跨临界CO_(2)驻车热泵空调的最优排气压力。结果表明:跨临界CO_(2)系统对欠排... 以带回热器的跨临界CO_(2)热泵空调系统为基础,设计搭建了跨临界CO_(2)驻车热泵空调系统实验台,通过控制车内回风温度、压缩机频率和车内送风量等参数,研究了跨临界CO_(2)驻车热泵空调的最优排气压力。结果表明:跨临界CO_(2)系统对欠排气压力更为敏感,当车外环境温度为7℃,车内回风温度为20℃,车内、外风量分别为400 m^(3)/h和1000 m^(3)/h时,系统最优排气压力为7.77 MPa,该工况下将系统排气压力从7.42 MPa升至7.77 MPa,系统COP提升了1.1,而随着排气压力从7.77 MPa继续升高至9.41 MPa,COP仅下降了0.3;增大车内送风量可有效降低气冷器出口温度和最优排气压力,当车内送风量从300 m^(3)/h增大到400 m^(3)/h时,气冷器出口温度下降4℃,最优排气压力降低1.15 MPa;气冷器出口温度对最优排气压力的影响最为显著,当系统运行工况改变时,这2个参数总是同步变化;基于试验数据拟合了一个新的最优排气压力预测关联式,该关联式预测值与试验值的最大偏差仅为3.5%,准确性较高,可为跨临界CO_(2)热泵空调系统排气压力的控制提供参考,确保系统始终在最佳COP下运行。 展开更多

通过数值仿真方法研究了传统球冠丁胞以及3种新型丁胞(椭球冠形、圆角棒形、圆角梯形)在数据中心空气冷却器换热芯中应用的流动与传热强化特性,所研究Re范围为5728~11176。结果表明:传统球冠丁胞的传热强化能力有限,其最大PEC(性能评价... 通过数值仿真方法研究了传统球冠丁胞以及3种新型丁胞(椭球冠形、圆角棒形、圆角梯形)在数据中心空气冷却器换热芯中应用的流动与传热强化特性,所研究Re范围为5728~11176。结果表明:传统球冠丁胞的传热强化能力有限,其最大PEC(性能评价指标)为1.067(球冠丁胞R15h2,Re=8383)。而相较于球冠丁胞,3种新型丁胞通道中的高流速区域均更加靠近壁面,使得壁面边界层更薄,从而强化了传热。而在3种新型丁胞之间,通道上壁面处的近壁面高流速区域以及流体冲击效应使圆角棒形丁胞通道的传热能力优于椭球冠形丁胞,更加复杂的二次流漩涡使圆角梯形丁胞的传热能力优于圆角棒形丁胞。圆角梯形丁胞的传热强化效果最好,在等泵功下相较于平直板片通道最高可强化传热33%(Re=5728),而在测试Re范围内其PEC均大于1.27。 展开更多

During the operation of dry air cooler in fractionating and suction stabilization unit of 1.2 million tons/year catalytic cracking unit in Yongping Refinery, the tube bundle of heat-dissipating finned tubes was blocked, post-cooling temperature was too high, tube bundle leaked, fan system vibrated and rattled, which seriously affected the long-term stable operation of catalytic cracking unit and the production capacity completed as planned, resulting in high processing task pressure and poor smooth operation of equipment. Based on the structure of dry air cooling equipment and long-term operation experience, this paper analyzes the causes of the problems found in the operation process and puts forward various countermeasures to ensure the long, full and optimal operation of dry air cooler in the fractionation and suction stabilization unit of the catalytic cracking unit. 展开更多

篦冷机作为新型干法水泥熟料生产线的核心设备,其运行状态直接影响水泥生产系统产量、能耗及产品质量。针对预热器系统升级后,篦冷机负荷超限引发的料层波动大、风机电流震荡、操作人员调整频繁、二三次风温不稳定等问题,基于热平衡理... 篦冷机作为新型干法水泥熟料生产线的核心设备,其运行状态直接影响水泥生产系统产量、能耗及产品质量。针对预热器系统升级后,篦冷机负荷超限引发的料层波动大、风机电流震荡、操作人员调整频繁、二三次风温不稳定等问题,基于热平衡理论与多变量控制技术,开发了篦冷机轻量化专家控制系统。该系统通过划分高、中、低温段风量控制区间,设定单位熟料用风量标准,结合神经网络建模与模型预测算法,实现了篦冷机篦速与风机风量的自适应协同调节。应用结果表明,系统投用后熟料产量提升181t/d,吨熟料标煤耗降低0.45kgce/t,余热锅炉发电量增加0.94kW·h/t,烧成电耗下降1.02kW·h/t,且二、三次风温波动幅度显著减小,设备运行稳定性与能源利用效率大幅提升,为水泥行业同类设备优化提供了技术参考。 展开更多

The present work is focused on heat and mass transfer in a direct evaporative air cooler of one row counter flow spray. Models of the two-phase flow in such a air treatment system have been developed. The fields of temperature and relative humidity in spray chamber, as well as the trajectories of sprayed drops have been obtained by numerical method. Experiments aiming at quantifying the system performance and its influence factors have been conducted. It indicates that the increase of air velocity and water/air ratio while the decrease of nozzle density are favorable. The performance of the system of parallel flow spray and counter flow spray have been compared by means of humidifying efficiency. Comparison between numerical simulation and experimental results demonstrate good agreement for outlet air temperature with a maximum error of 8% observed for air relative humidity. 展开更多
