The Diaoyu Island(Diaoyu Dao)and its affiliated islands(DAA)have abundant fishery resources,and chlorophyll a(Chl a)concentration is an important marine color element and an important indicator of primary productivity...The Diaoyu Island(Diaoyu Dao)and its affiliated islands(DAA)have abundant fishery resources,and chlorophyll a(Chl a)concentration is an important marine color element and an important indicator of primary productivity in the ocean.Therefore,it is meaningful to understand the distribution and variation characteristics of Chl a concentration in the waters near the DAA.The distribution details of Chl a concentration in the adjacent waters of DAA were revealed by high-resolution satellite GF-1 Wide Field View(WFV)data with 16 m spatial resolution.The results indicate that:(1)The Chl a concentration is between 0.06μg/L and 0.38μg/L throughout the year and the concentration of Chl a in the northeast and east directions of the island(downstream)is significantly higher than that in the west(upstream),and there are observed vortexes with high Chl a concentration in the downstream of DAA.This phenomenon continues to persist in the waters surrounding the DAA all year.(2)The vortex induced by the interaction between the current and island results in the vorticity change of water,inducing the replenishment of a large number of nutrients to the surface,thereby promoting the growth of plankton in the downstream of DAA on the east.In addition,the DAA also plays a significant role in regulating the downstream mix layer depth(MLD).The MLD in the northeast downstream is considerably deeper than the upstream in winter and spring;it is deeper in the east downstream in summer and autumn,and the range of influence for the MLD is greatly larger than the size of the island itself.This shows that the disruption of the DAA on the current is substantial.In addition,the combined effects of SST and wind also play a significant role in modifying Chl a distribution.(3)Based on the analysis above,this study proposes the conception of building fishing pastures downstream of the DAA,and proposes a general migration plan in different seasons to scientifically and rationally utilize and protect the surrounding waters of DAA.展开更多

The induced airfl w from passing trains,which is recognized as train wind,usually has adverse impacts on people in the surroundings,i.e.,the aerodynamic forces generated by a high-speed train's wind may act on the hu...The induced airfl w from passing trains,which is recognized as train wind,usually has adverse impacts on people in the surroundings,i.e.,the aerodynamic forces generated by a high-speed train's wind may act on the human body and endanger the safety of pedestrians or roadside workers.In this paper,an improved delayed detached eddy simulation(IDDES) method is used to study train wind.The effects of the affiliate components and train length on train wind are analyzed.The results indicate that the aff liated components and train length have no effect on train wind in the area in front of the leading nose.In the downstream and wake regions,the longitudinal train wind becomes stronger as the length of the train increases,while the transverse train wind is not affected.The presence of affiliate components strengthens the train wind in the near fiel of the train because of strong fl w solid interactions but has limited effects on train wind in the far field.展开更多

Taking the advantage of sun glitter(SG)observed from high-resolution satellites Gaofen-1(GF-1)and Gaofen-6(GF-6),a new method named Shield and Vortex 1-2(SAV1-2)for extracting spatial texture information from sun glit...Taking the advantage of sun glitter(SG)observed from high-resolution satellites Gaofen-1(GF-1)and Gaofen-6(GF-6),a new method named Shield and Vortex 1-2(SAV1-2)for extracting spatial texture information from sun glitter was established.Sea surface texture detail information around Diaoyu Dao and its affiliated islands was extracted using SAV1-2.Meanwhile,the dynamic characteristics of the water environment were analyzed by combining the water color,temperature and dynamic data.The results show the following information.(1)Stable westward shield effect and eastward Karman vortex streets,extracted from SG,appear upstream(westward)and downstream(eastward)of the Diaoyu Dao and its affiliated islands respectively.(2)The dominant direction of the Kuroshio Current in the Diaoyu Dao and its affiliated islands area is east,the Diaoyu Dao and its affiliated islands interacting with Kuroshio,inducing western shield and eastern shelter and wake.Furthermore,wave intervals of the shield in front of the island range from hundreds to thousands of metres,and extend wider than the island itself.(3)Combining with high-resolution sea surface temperature(SST)and chlorophyll a(Chl a)concentration,the directional changes of water color elements are mutually supported and proved with the stable shield(wave packet)effect in the west and vortex street effect in the east.The change of SST upstream of the island(western shield area)is not significant,the temperature in the downstream shelter area decreases slightly,and the SST in the downstream wake area shows a general trend of obvious decrease.The wake area is dominated by Karman vortex streets in shape,supplementing by vortices.The concentration of Chl a in the west shield of island is as low as that in downstream shelter area,while it increases significantly in the downstream wake area with shape in eddy or ribbon.(4)The SAV methods of extracting sea surface texture detail using SG can be widely used in different sea areas and water quality.This paper can provide reference for the protection and development of Diaoyu Dao and its affiliated islands and its surrounding waters.It is suggested that some kind of current buffer,such as marine wind farm,should be established in the western waters of Diaoyu Dao and its affiliated islands to protect the islands,and marine pasture should be developed in the downstream of eastern waters of Diaoyu Dao and its affiliated islands.展开更多

We use the share pledge context in China to examine how affiliated analysts whose securities companies are pledgees of share pledge firms issue stock recommendations on these listed firms.We find that their recommenda...We use the share pledge context in China to examine how affiliated analysts whose securities companies are pledgees of share pledge firms issue stock recommendations on these listed firms.We find that their recommendations are more optimistic than those of non-affiliated analysts,and they are more likely to issue Buy and Add recommendations,suggesting that they issue optimistic rating reports for share pledge firms due to their conflicts of interest.We also find a dynamic adjustment in the stock recommendation behavior of these analysts,and their probability after issuing optimistic stock recommendations is significantly reduced before and after the years that the affiliation relationship between them and share pledge firms both began and ended.These affiliated analysts continue to issue optimistic stock recommendations after visiting the share pledge firms if they work in the same location as the firms,or if they are star analysts among New Fortune’s‘‘top five analysts,"and when the information transparency of the share pledge firms is higher.In addition,the optimistic stock recommendation behavior of affiliated analysts is more significant in our sample of firms with high share pledge ratios and downward stock price pressure.The earnings forecast quality of affiliated analysts is also found to be lower,and they are less inclined to downgrade stock recommendations for these share pledge firms.Buy recommendations issued by both nonaffiliated and affiliated analysts can bring cumulative excess returns in the short event window,but those issued by affiliated analysts are significantly negative in the long-term event window,and significantly lower than those issued by non-affiliated analysts.Overall,our study shows that affiliated analysts issue optimistic rating reports on share pledge firms due to conflicts of interest,which leads to decision-making bias in investors and thus decreases the stock price crash risk of the firms.Our findings further reveal the economic consequences of share pledging and extend our understanding of the behavior of analysts in a conflict of interest situation from the share pledge perspective.展开更多
This study puts forward an active control method for circular cylinder flow by placing two small affiliated rotating cylinders adjacent to the main cylinder, and their effects on the drag and lift forces acting on the...This study puts forward an active control method for circular cylinder flow by placing two small affiliated rotating cylinders adjacent to the main cylinder, and their effects on the drag and lift forces acting on the main cylinder as well as the heat trans- fer effectiveness are numerically investigated. According to the diameter of the main cylinder the Reynolds number is chosen as Re=200. The well-proven finite volume method is employed for the calculation. The code is validated by comparing the present computed results of flow passing an isolated rotating cylinder with those available from the literature. To describe the present control model, two parameters are defined: the rotation direction of the two small cylinders (including co-current rota- tion and counter-current rotation) and the dimensionless rotation rate a. In the simulation, the rotation rate a varies from 0 to 2.4. The results indicate that the optimum rotation direction of the subsidiary cylinders, which is beneficial to both drag reduc- tion and beat transfer enhancement, is the co-current rotating (the upper affiliated cylinder spins clockwise and the lower affili- ated cylinder spins counter-clockwise). We observe noticeable suppression of the vortex shedding and favorable reduction of the fluid forces acting on the main cylinder as the rotation rate increases. Besides, the pressure and viscous components of the drag force are analyzed. Energy balance between energy cost for activating the rotating cylinders and energy saving by the momentum injection is considered. In addition, the influence of the affiliated rotating cylinders on heat transfer is also investi- gated. The average Nusselt number is found to increase with the rotation rate.展开更多

Since the rise of the Arab Spring,a series of social movements have led to a deterioration of political stability in some Arab countries.In the past decade,ordinary people in Arab countries have generally increased th...Since the rise of the Arab Spring,a series of social movements have led to a deterioration of political stability in some Arab countries.In the past decade,ordinary people in Arab countries have generally increased their aspirations to express their own political opinions in the public sphere.When viewed from the consequences of contemporary political reforms,the degrees of political participation of different national parliaments are eventually influenced by the transition from authoritarian rule and are characterised by their polity.While before the Arab Spring,the performance of religious affiliated political parties in every nation’s parliament was not prominent,but the democratisation reform provided these religious affiliated political parties with important political opportunities to even overtake their secular opponents.Religious traditions are dominant cultural in the Middle East and North Africa(MENA).The political participation of religious affiliated political parties plays a directionally representative role on the current development of political and religious relations in this era.By comparing the political performance of Islamic political parties in the parliamentary elections in Arab countries since 2010,this essay attempts to theoretically explore the role of religious affiliated political parties in the process of social integration and the political modernisation after the democratisation revolution,and explains the intervention of deeplyrooted religious tradition into public politics.Religious affiliated political parties in the Arab countries are strengthened on the one hand by internal initiative and on the other hand by catering to external needs.However,at the same time,the political participation of religious affiliated political parties has triggered concerns amongst secularists about theocracy,and its true effectiveness is also severely constrained by the degree of progress in the political modernisation process of the host country.展开更多

Many animals use color to signal their quality and/or behavioral motivations.Colorful signals have been well studied in the contexts of competi-tion and mate choice;however,the role of these signals in nonsexual,affil...Many animals use color to signal their quality and/or behavioral motivations.Colorful signals have been well studied in the contexts of competi-tion and mate choice;however,the role of these signals in nonsexual,affiliative relationships is not as well understood.Here,we used wild social groups of the cichlid fish Neolamprologus pulcher to investigate whether the size of a brightly colored facial patch was related to 1)individual quality,2)social dominance,and/or 3)affiliative relationships.Individuals with larger patches spent more time foraging and tended to perform more aggressive acts against conspecific territory intruders.We did not find any evidence that the size of these yellow patches was related to social rank or body size,but dominant males tended to have larger patches than dominant females.Additionally,patch size had a rank-specific relationship with the number of affiliative interactions that individuals engaged in.Dominant males with large patches received fewer affiliative acts from their groupmates compared to dominant males with small patches.However,subordinates with large patches tended to receive more affiliative acts from their groupmates while performing fewer affiliative acts themselves.Taken together,our results suggest that patch size reflects interindividual variation in foraging effort in this cichlid fish and offer some of the first evidence that colorful signals may shape affiliative relationships withinwildsocialgroups.展开更多

文摘We use the share pledge context in China to examine how affiliated analysts whose securities companies are pledgees of share pledge firms issue stock recommendations on these listed firms.We find that their recommendations are more optimistic than those of non-affiliated analysts,and they are more likely to issue Buy and Add recommendations,suggesting that they issue optimistic rating reports for share pledge firms due to their conflicts of interest.We also find a dynamic adjustment in the stock recommendation behavior of these analysts,and their probability after issuing optimistic stock recommendations is significantly reduced before and after the years that the affiliation relationship between them and share pledge firms both began and ended.These affiliated analysts continue to issue optimistic stock recommendations after visiting the share pledge firms if they work in the same location as the firms,or if they are star analysts among New Fortune’s‘‘top five analysts,"and when the information transparency of the share pledge firms is higher.In addition,the optimistic stock recommendation behavior of affiliated analysts is more significant in our sample of firms with high share pledge ratios and downward stock price pressure.The earnings forecast quality of affiliated analysts is also found to be lower,and they are less inclined to downgrade stock recommendations for these share pledge firms.Buy recommendations issued by both nonaffiliated and affiliated analysts can bring cumulative excess returns in the short event window,but those issued by affiliated analysts are significantly negative in the long-term event window,and significantly lower than those issued by non-affiliated analysts.Overall,our study shows that affiliated analysts issue optimistic rating reports on share pledge firms due to conflicts of interest,which leads to decision-making bias in investors and thus decreases the stock price crash risk of the firms.Our findings further reveal the economic consequences of share pledging and extend our understanding of the behavior of analysts in a conflict of interest situation from the share pledge perspective.
文摘This study puts forward an active control method for circular cylinder flow by placing two small affiliated rotating cylinders adjacent to the main cylinder, and their effects on the drag and lift forces acting on the main cylinder as well as the heat trans- fer effectiveness are numerically investigated. According to the diameter of the main cylinder the Reynolds number is chosen as Re=200. The well-proven finite volume method is employed for the calculation. The code is validated by comparing the present computed results of flow passing an isolated rotating cylinder with those available from the literature. To describe the present control model, two parameters are defined: the rotation direction of the two small cylinders (including co-current rota- tion and counter-current rotation) and the dimensionless rotation rate a. In the simulation, the rotation rate a varies from 0 to 2.4. The results indicate that the optimum rotation direction of the subsidiary cylinders, which is beneficial to both drag reduc- tion and beat transfer enhancement, is the co-current rotating (the upper affiliated cylinder spins clockwise and the lower affili- ated cylinder spins counter-clockwise). We observe noticeable suppression of the vortex shedding and favorable reduction of the fluid forces acting on the main cylinder as the rotation rate increases. Besides, the pressure and viscous components of the drag force are analyzed. Energy balance between energy cost for activating the rotating cylinders and energy saving by the momentum injection is considered. In addition, the influence of the affiliated rotating cylinders on heat transfer is also investi- gated. The average Nusselt number is found to increase with the rotation rate.

文摘Since the rise of the Arab Spring,a series of social movements have led to a deterioration of political stability in some Arab countries.In the past decade,ordinary people in Arab countries have generally increased their aspirations to express their own political opinions in the public sphere.When viewed from the consequences of contemporary political reforms,the degrees of political participation of different national parliaments are eventually influenced by the transition from authoritarian rule and are characterised by their polity.While before the Arab Spring,the performance of religious affiliated political parties in every nation’s parliament was not prominent,but the democratisation reform provided these religious affiliated political parties with important political opportunities to even overtake their secular opponents.Religious traditions are dominant cultural in the Middle East and North Africa(MENA).The political participation of religious affiliated political parties plays a directionally representative role on the current development of political and religious relations in this era.By comparing the political performance of Islamic political parties in the parliamentary elections in Arab countries since 2010,this essay attempts to theoretically explore the role of religious affiliated political parties in the process of social integration and the political modernisation after the democratisation revolution,and explains the intervention of deeplyrooted religious tradition into public politics.Religious affiliated political parties in the Arab countries are strengthened on the one hand by internal initiative and on the other hand by catering to external needs.However,at the same time,the political participation of religious affiliated political parties has triggered concerns amongst secularists about theocracy,and its true effectiveness is also severely constrained by the degree of progress in the political modernisation process of the host country.

文摘Many animals use color to signal their quality and/or behavioral motivations.Colorful signals have been well studied in the contexts of competi-tion and mate choice;however,the role of these signals in nonsexual,affiliative relationships is not as well understood.Here,we used wild social groups of the cichlid fish Neolamprologus pulcher to investigate whether the size of a brightly colored facial patch was related to 1)individual quality,2)social dominance,and/or 3)affiliative relationships.Individuals with larger patches spent more time foraging and tended to perform more aggressive acts against conspecific territory intruders.We did not find any evidence that the size of these yellow patches was related to social rank or body size,but dominant males tended to have larger patches than dominant females.Additionally,patch size had a rank-specific relationship with the number of affiliative interactions that individuals engaged in.Dominant males with large patches received fewer affiliative acts from their groupmates compared to dominant males with small patches.However,subordinates with large patches tended to receive more affiliative acts from their groupmates while performing fewer affiliative acts themselves.Taken together,our results suggest that patch size reflects interindividual variation in foraging effort in this cichlid fish and offer some of the first evidence that colorful signals may shape affiliative relationships withinwildsocialgroups.
