文摘Objective To preliminarily investigate the rules of acupoint selection of acupuncture and moxibustion for the treatment of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting by retrospecting pertinent literature from 1986 to 2013. Methods Literature of clinical studies on acupuncture and moxibustion for the treatment of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting published from 1986 to 2013 in CNKI, Wanfang and VlP databases and in PubMed database were retrieved. Data were analyzed statistically via Excel. Results One hundred and nineteen articles retrieved were related to the study. Based on the current literature analysis, meridians selected for acupuncture and moxibustion on chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting were mainly the stomach meridian, the pericardium meridian, the conception vessel, the spleen meridian and bladder meridian; point combination was applied more in prescription, accounting for 73.11%, while single point was applied less, only accounting for 26.89%. There were numerous methods for point combinations, but proximal and distal point combination was the most widely used method, accounting for 20.93%. Meanwhile, main acupoints selected were mostly Zusanli (足三里 ST 36), Neiguan (内关 PC 6), Zhongwan (中脘CV12), Gongsun (公孙SP 4) and Taichong (太冲 LR 3) and point combinations were mainly Shenmen (神门 HT 7), Geshu (膈俞 BL 17), PishB (脾俞 BL 20), Weishu (胃俞 BL 21) and Jianli (建里 CV 11). Conclusion Acupoints selection on acupuncture and moxibustion for chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting shows a certain rules that the meridians selected are mainly stomach meridian, pericardium meridian and conception vessel and acupuncture points selected are normally ST 36, PC 6 and CV 12, proximal and distal point combination is applied more, while single point applied less.

文摘In the light of the position character, acupoints situating on the corresponding medial and lateral sides of the limbs or in the front and back parts of the body trunk are called as “opposite acupoints”. In the present paper, the author expounds its theoretical basis from yin-yang theory, investigates its origin from the location of acupoints and ancient clinical application, and introduces its current application in clinical practice. In addition, the author lists 4 typical cases about treatment of hysteric convulsion, pregnant hypertension, child bed-wetting and leucorrhagia with opposite acupoints. Clinical practice demonstrates that opposite acupoints therapy is fewer in taking acupoints for one session of treatment, simple in operation, and good in the therapeutic effect for treatment of various diseases of different systems in the human body.
文摘In the present paper, the author reports the results of acupuncture of Houding (GV 19) and other acupoints selected along the meridian for treating sciatica. A total of 92 sciatica patients were randomly divided into Houding group (n=62) and control group (n=30). In Houding group, patients were treated mainly with puncturing Houding (GV 19), combined with Huantiao (GB 30) when necessary. In control group, patients were treated with Huantiao (GB 30), Yanglingquan (GB 34) or Zhibian (BL 54), Weizhong (BL 40), Chengshan (BL 57), Kunlun (BL 60), etc. which were selected along the route of meridian. Results indicated that following 10 sessions of treatment, in Houing and control groups, of the 62 and 30 cases, 44 and 15 were basically cured, 18 and 10 were improved, 0 and 5 failed in the treatment, with the total effective rates being 100% and 83,3% respectively. The therapeutic effect of Houding (GV 19) is significantly superior to that of acupoints selected along the meridian.
文摘In the present paper, the author reviews the progresses in the study on acumoxi (acupuncture-moxi-bustion) treatment of diabetes mellitus (DM) from Chinese ancient classical works, Chinese and foreign journals. The therapeutic results reveal that acupuncture treatment of DM is effective in improving DM patients' symptoms via vagal-nerve reflex, regulation of neuroendocrine and immune functions. The author holds that ① correct selection of acupoints in accordance with syndrome differentiation and the related meridians and combined application of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicines (for oral administration) are the key points for raising the therapeutic effect; and ② acupoint combination and curative methods need to be researched further.

文摘Objective This study investigated the clinical details and usage of Sa-am acupuncture in Korean medicine clinics and explored how practicing Korean medicine doctors(KMDs)think about Sa-am acupuncture. Methods We conducted a questionnaire-based survey of KMDs who utilize Sa-am acupuncture in their practice. The study comprehensively investigated issues related to clinical application of Sa-am acupuncture, needling techniques used during treatment, training methods, and directions for its future improvement. Results We analyzed 572 responses. An average of 50%of the patients visiting Korean medicine clinics were receiving Sa-am acupuncture. The most prevalent indication for Sa-am acupuncture use was digestive disorders. The patients’appetite level and digestive function were most frequently used indicators for selecting acupuncture points.Regarding prescription compositions,Jung-Gyuk formulas were more frequently used than Seung-Gyuk formulas.Inserting the needle along the flow of the channel or against the flow of the channel was most popular. The acupuncture style most frequently used in combination with Sa-am acupuncture was Ashi point acupuncture.Strengths of Sa-am acupuncture included its versatility, easy application, and good outcomes.Limitations included the lack of rigorous education and training programs, difficulty in applying the principles for beginners, and insufficient clinical research evidence. Conclusion In clinics where Sa-am acupuncture is available,KMDs were providing Sa-am acupuncture to about half of their patients.Practitioners were not using all of the tonification and sedation techniques which may be due to time constraints or simply a lack of necessity.Sa-am acupuncture demonstrated high utility in clinical practice and high satisfaction based on the efficacy and safety.More training programs and high-quality research are needed to help expand the use of Sa-am acupuncture.
