With the continuous advancement of artificial intelligence(AI)technology,personalized learning systems are increasingly applied in higher education.Particularly within STEM(Science,Technology,Engineering,and Mathemati...With the continuous advancement of artificial intelligence(AI)technology,personalized learning systems are increasingly applied in higher education.Particularly within STEM(Science,Technology,Engineering,and Mathematics)education,AI demonstrates significant advantages through adaptive learning pathways,instant feedback,and individualized resource allocation.However,current research predominantly focuses on the technical architecture and application effectiveness of such systems,with insufficient exploration of how AI-enabled personalized learning systems influence university students’learning motivation and academic achievement through educational psychological mechanisms.This paper adopts an educational psychology perspective to construct a causal mechanism model linking“learning motivation-learning behavior-academic achievement.”Findings indicate that AI-powered personalized learning systems enhance learning autonomy,boost self-efficacy,and optimize feedback mechanisms.These effects collectively stimulate university students’learning motivation in STEM disciplines,thereby promoting academic achievement.Building upon empirical research,this paper proposes implications for educational practice and policy formulation,emphasizing the necessity of advancing higher education reform through the dual influence of technology and psychological mechanisms.展开更多
This study examines the predictive roles of foreign language classroom anxiety(FLCA),foreign language enjoyment(FLE),and foreign language boredom(FLB)in English achievement among Chinese senior high school students.De...This study examines the predictive roles of foreign language classroom anxiety(FLCA),foreign language enjoyment(FLE),and foreign language boredom(FLB)in English achievement among Chinese senior high school students.Despite extensive research on anxiety in language learning,less attention has been given to boredom,and the combined effects of these three emotions on English achievement remain under-explored,particularly among high school students in China.To address these gaps,a sample of 142 students from Guangzhou was surveyed using questionnaires to assess their emotional experiences and English achievement.The research found that FLE exhibited a positive correlation with academic performance,while FLCA and FLB showed negative associations.Notably,FLE was the most significant predictor of English achievement,followed by FLCA and FLB.Gender differences were observed,with male students reporting significantly higher levels of environmental enjoyment,while female students experienced significantly greater communication anxiety.On this basis,this paper offers suggestions on how to enhance senior high school students’FLE while mitigating FLCA and FLB,thereby promoting more effective and sustained English learning.展开更多

The purpose of the present study aimed to compare the relationships betweenachievement emotions, motivation, and language learning strategies of high, mid and low achievers in Englishlanguage learning at an international university in a southern province in China. Quantitative data were collectedthrough a questionnaire survey of 74 （16 males, 58 females） TESL major students. Results indicated that studentsin general experienced more positive than negative achievement emotions; more intrinsically rather thanextrinsically motivated to learn English; and quite frequently used a variety of learning strategies to overcome theirlearning difficulties. However, Year Four low-achievers experienced more negative achievement emotions. Theyseldom used metacognitive, affective and social learning strategies, and they had lower degrees of intrinsicmotivation. Over the past thirty years, emphasis has been placed on achievement levels of students in this country. State test results, SAT Scores, ACT scores and other assessment instruments have been used to determine performance standards and test results for students. Data analyzed for White students compared to African American and Hispanic students have provided critical information in identifying academic progress and skill deficits for all students. This article will highlight some of the achievement gaps which exit among White, African American and Hispanic Students. Recommendations will also be emphasized to help improve student achievement levels in an effort to close the achievement gap.
文摘How to comprehensively,scientifically,objectively and impartially evaluate the multiple learning achievements of the PBL model should be highlighted when PBL is introduced and applied.A questionnaire of a total of 23 items involving such dimensions of language proficiency,subject contents and 21 st Century skills was designed.Its reliability and validity were tested and well-met with the statistical requirements.
文摘Tolerance of ambiguity, an important emotional factor, imposes vital influence on second language acquisition. In this study, questionnaires are adopted to investigate the correlation between non-English major＇s tolerance of ambiguity and their English achievement. The result shows that students with different degrees of tolerance of ambiguity can be significantly different in their language performance. Based on the analysis, this article proposes some effective measures to improve the degree of tolerance of ambiguity in English teaching.
文摘Self-esteem is one of personality traits in the process of language learning.There is a close relationship between the level of self-esteem and language learning achievements.The purpose of the study is to discuss the relationship between EFL self-esteem and English achievements in the process of their English learning.The study also shows that EFL self-esteem can influence English achievements.On the other hand,English achievements can influence EFL self-esteem too.Based on the research,some methods are proposed to help strengthen students' EFL self-esteem and improve their English achievement.
文摘Overseas research has shown that achievement emotions have direct relationships with ＂achievement outcome＂ and＂achievement activities＂. The purpose of the present study aimed to compare the relationships betweenachievement emotions, motivation, and language learning strategies of high, mid and low achievers in Englishlanguage learning at an international university in a southern province in China. Quantitative data were collectedthrough a questionnaire survey of 74 （16 males, 58 females） TESL major students. Results indicated that studentsin general experienced more positive than negative achievement emotions; more intrinsically rather thanextrinsically motivated to learn English; and quite frequently used a variety of learning strategies to overcome theirlearning difficulties. However, Year Four low-achievers experienced more negative achievement emotions. Theyseldom used metacognitive, affective and social learning strategies, and they had lower degrees of intrinsicmotivation. Implications for institutional support for at risk students are discussed.

文摘The policy of taking the targeted poverty alleviation measures has been the mission of the age in propelling the 13th Five-year Plan and building moderately prosperous society. A good poverty alleviation model is of significance for the goal. The research introduced a poverty-stricken county-Midu County, Dali Bai Au- tonomous Prefecture, analyzed the basic approaches and the main achievements of ＂the model of poverty alleviation and income growth by developing plateau-charac- terized agriculture＂, and proposed some suggestions to promoting and applying this model. The research provides references for plateau-characterized agricultural devel- opment and targeted poverty alleviation strategy.
文摘This paper evaluates the Achievement Test for Junior High School Graduation in reliability,validity and practicality,which is aimed to help junior English teachers to understand how to identify a useful test and develop their test writing skills as well as improve their teaching.The result suggests that the Achievement Test is a reasonably reliable and valid test though some of the listening items need to be improved.It is the ideal frame of evaluating language learning through language testing.
