The learning of English academic vocabulary has been the focus of numerous studies from the time Coxhead(2000)developed the academic word list to the present day.Various researchers have emphasized the importance of p...The learning of English academic vocabulary has been the focus of numerous studies from the time Coxhead(2000)developed the academic word list to the present day.Various researchers have emphasized the importance of possessing academic vocabulary knowledge for academic success.Recognizing this importance,it is crucial for researchers,teachers,and learners to understand the progress made in academic word lists.This systematic review first identifies,describes,appraises,and synthesizes the development of academic word lists from 2000 to 2020.It then examines the methods used by researchers in developing academic word lists among 56 studies that meet the pre-established criteria.The word lists were classified based on some criteria such as word counting units,corpora types/sizes,and exclusion criteria.Limitations,suggestions for further study,and implications are also discussed.Additionally,recommendations for future word list establishment are provided to help advance the field of word list development.展开更多

Data c...Korean academic libraries are facing a serious space shortage problem due to the inability to uphold the rapidly increasing amount of printed materials despite having expanded the number of physical facilities. Data computerization has been considered as a solution to the issue, but deliberation for the High Density Book Storage System has been on the rise because of its impressive method of preserving printed materials in a realistic facility. Despite the different methods of print material storage, Korean academic libraries have largely focused on investing in the least efficient method of compact shelving to solve this issue. It is hypothesized that the misuse of funds on inefficient systems is occurring due to the lack of knowledge about the high-density book storage systems like the Harvard model. Teacher–student relationships play a vital role in improving college students’academic performance and the quality of higher education.However,empirical studies with substantial data-driven insights remain limited.T...Teacher–student relationships play a vital role in improving college students’academic performance and the quality of higher education.However,empirical studies with substantial data-driven insights remain limited.To address this gap,this study collected 3278 questionnaires from seven universities across four provinces in China to analyze the key factors affecting college students’academic performance.A machine learning framework,CQFOA-KELM,was developed by enhancing the Fruit Fly Optimization Algorithm(FOA)with Covariance Matrix Adaptation Evolution Strategy(CMAES)and Quadratic Approximation(QA).CQFOA significantly improved population diversity and was validated on the IEEE CEC2017 benchmark functions.The CQFOA-KELM model achieved an accuracy of 98.15%and a sensitivity of 98.53%in predicting college students’academic performance.Additionally,it effectively identified the key factors influencing academic performance through the feature selection process.展开更多

文摘The rise and development of China’s academic system is a process that started from“passively accepting Western Learning”to today’s“catching up with Western Learning and even exceeding it”.In the last century,China experienced a turbulent and unstable social environment in which academics and politics have always been intertwined.As a result,the internal logic of China’s academic system shares similar characteristics with its Western models,but is unique in certain ways at the same time.In the complex and inseparable relationship between academics and politics,which involves both love and hate,the logic that academics must serve political needs,on one hand,establishes the co-existence of the academia and the government,which provides a relatively stable environment for academic activities within the system;on the other hand,it also jeopardizes the ecological environment in which the academics can develop according to its own internal logic.For exactly the same reasons,even at present,internalization means something special and complex for Chinese academia because,on one hand,it truly represents academia’s strive to meet international standards;on the other hand,the pushing factor behind this“voluntary”stance is still state and political power.
文摘In terms of principle,the intrinsic structural elements of the academic system of Chinese administrative law can be divided into three components:the positive law(de lege lata)system,the theoretical system and the system of methodology.As the foundation of the academic system,positive law mainly consists of the normative and institutional systems of administrative law;as the heart of the academic system,the theoretical system contains the theoretical basis,the system of basic principles and the system of categories of administrative law;and the system of methodology is the link and the conversion mechanism between positive law and the theoretical system,including the three research methods of politicolegal jurisprudence,Rechtsdogmatik(legal dogmatics)and social science jurisprudence.Along with institutional practice and the deepening of doctrine over the past thirty years since the promulgation of the Administrative Procedure Law(1989),the academic system of administrative law in China has been maturing.However,we are conscious that problems still exist.The basic approach to achieving further innovation includes advancing the construction of basic administrative law through codification;enhancing academic quality by jurisprudential thinking;shaping Chinese characteristics by rule of law practice;and carrying forward the whole academic system in a complete form.

文摘The report to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China(CPC)pointed out that problems are the voice of the times,and answering the problems and guiding the solutions are the fundamental tasks of theories.To continually promote theoretical innovation on the basis of practice and to write a new chapter on adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of the times,it is necessary to persist in problem orientation.Therefore,it is a requirement for the implementation of the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the CPC to engage in intellectual inquiry with respect to meta-jurisprudence,and,based on that,pursue the target of building an academic system of legal science with Chinese characteristics.There are two main types of problems in meta-jurisprudence.The first is ideological resources,which asks what kinds of ideas shape the direction,foresight,and preferences of legal scholars.The second is the analytic framework,which asks how to tell the different kinds of legal issues apart,finish building the system,choose the best ways to argue,and make strong arguments.Only by starting from the problems of meta-jurisprudence and adhering to the guidance of XI Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law,by combining China's specific rule-of-law practice with fine traditional Chinese legal culture,and by learning from international experience,can the mission of building an academic system of legal science with Chinese characteristics be achieved.

文摘Korean academic libraries are facing a serious space shortage problem due to the inability to uphold the rapidly increasing amount of printed materials despite having expanded the number of physical facilities. Data computerization has been considered as a solution to the issue, but deliberation for the High Density Book Storage System has been on the rise because of its impressive method of preserving printed materials in a realistic facility. Despite the different methods of print material storage, Korean academic libraries have largely focused on investing in the least efficient method of compact shelving to solve this issue. It is hypothesized that the misuse of funds on inefficient systems is occurring due to the lack of knowledge about the high-density book storage systems like the Harvard model. In order to propose a realistic solution to the academic library space shortage crisis on a logical basis, it is imperative that a study of academic librarians is conducted to investigate their knowledge on such efficient storage systems.
文摘Scientific research aims to understand the reality that surrounds us.It is defined by Benoit Gauthier as:“an activity of objective quest for knowledge on factual questions”.By virtue of its goal of objectively advancing knowledge in a particular field,it requires rigor,precision and method.As heuristic practice is not a natural exercise,the skills required in the development of scientific work need to be taught to students who are often helpless in face of these requirements.It is therefore important for the faculty to support and,even more so,to train students in research.The Faculty of French and Francophone Studies at Beijing Foreign Studies University(BFSU)propose an Academic Writing course accessible to students of the fourth year of the bachelor program.This article first offers a description of the course in its components,both theoretical and practical.Then,it analyses the weaknesses observed by the professor during his teaching and some reflections are proposed in order to try to develop a more systemic approach to research at university aimed at allowing a greater empowerment of the students coupled with more comprehensive training.

文摘Leveraging unique resource advantages of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)to achieve innovative breakthroughs in research constitutes a core strategic imperative for its inheritance,innovation and development.At present,the academic advances and scientific achievements in TCM serve as a key driving force for industry growth and advancement of the inheritance and innovation of TCM.To continuously strengthen the leading role of academic research,the China Association of Chinese Medicine(CACM)attaches great importance to the latest research directions and academic results in TCM,and spotlights key advances and emerging trends in TCM scholarship.Since 2020,CACM has conducted the selection and release of the“top 10 academic advances in traditional Chinese medicine”on a yearly basis.The selection of“top 10 academic advances in traditional Chinese medicine in 2024”prioritized research that addresses clinical needs,answers scientific questions and drives industrial development.Highlighting exploratory,forward-looking,innovative and groundbreaking achievements,the following 10 breakthroughs were selected through a process of collection,systematic review and expert evaluation:New advances in prevention and treatment of digestive system diseases with“brain-gut”cross-organ strategy,high-level evidence support for prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease(CVD)continuum with TCM,important breakthrough in the research on prevention and treatment of acute radiation injury with TCM,elucidation of molecular mechanisms underlying“excellent shape and high quality”variation in cultivated American ginseng through domestication,biosynthesis of trace active ingredients such as benzylisoquinoline alkaloids,pilot application of artificial intelligence(AI)technology,research technology for unelucidated constituents of TCM,new drug delivery system in TCM,and establishment and preliminary application of integrated evidence chain-based effectiveness evaluation of TCM(iEC-Eff).
文摘Teacher–student relationships play a vital role in improving college students’academic performance and the quality of higher education.However,empirical studies with substantial data-driven insights remain limited.To address this gap,this study collected 3278 questionnaires from seven universities across four provinces in China to analyze the key factors affecting college students’academic performance.A machine learning framework,CQFOA-KELM,was developed by enhancing the Fruit Fly Optimization Algorithm(FOA)with Covariance Matrix Adaptation Evolution Strategy(CMAES)and Quadratic Approximation(QA).CQFOA significantly improved population diversity and was validated on the IEEE CEC2017 benchmark functions.The CQFOA-KELM model achieved an accuracy of 98.15%and a sensitivity of 98.53%in predicting college students’academic performance.Additionally,it effectively identified the key factors influencing academic performance through the feature selection process.

文摘The traditional academic warning methods for students in higher vocational colleges are relatively backward,single,and have many influencing factors,which have a limited effect on improving their learning ability.A data set was established by collecting academic warning data of students in a certain university.The importance of the school,major,grade,and warning level for the students was analyzed using the Pearson correlation coefficient,random forest variable importance,and permutation importance.It was found that the characteristic of the major has a great impact on the academic warning level.Countermeasures such as dynamic adjustment of majors,reform of cognitive adaptation of courses,full-cycle academic support,and data-driven precise intervention were proposed to provide theoretical support and practical paths for universities to improve the efficiency of academic warning and enhance students’learning ability.
