[Objective] The paper aims to study the attractive effects of 12 Chinese medicinal herbs on Scophthalmus maximus juvenile.[Method] We took 200 Scophthalmus maximus with the average body length of 3 cm,average weight o...[Objective] The paper aims to study the attractive effects of 12 Chinese medicinal herbs on Scophthalmus maximus juvenile.[Method] We took 200 Scophthalmus maximus with the average body length of 3 cm,average weight of 1 g and 60 days of age as the research object,and 12 Chinese medicinal herbs as feed attractants were selected,including Cloves,Cinnamon,Star anise,Kaempferol,Mint,Coptis,Phellodendron,skullcap,Gardenia,Sophora flavescens,Mume,Myrobalan meat were selected.The amount added to the basic diet was 2‰..The times of turbot juveniles going into each inducing room and the times of turbot juveniles biting the feed ball were recorded by maze experiments.Inducing effects of the Chinese herbal medicines were analyzed.[Result] The results showed that the attractant effect of Mume,Gardenia,Scutellaria and kaempferol had the significantly inducing effect on Scophthalmus maximus juvenile.And 2‰ Gardenia,5‰ Matrine,5‰ Scutellaria and 2‰ Kaempferol have the best attractant effects.In compound experients,the attractive effect of mixture of 2‰ matrine and gardenia on Scophthalmus maximus was the best.[Conclusion] The attractive effect on Scophthalmus maximus has something to do with the kind and concentration of Chinese medicinal herbs.展开更多

Our data suggested that exposure to high concentrations of metals, such as Pb, Cu, Ag, and Cr, would result in severe defects of chemotaxis to water-soluble attractants of NaCl, cAMP, and biotin. Moreover, the morphology of ASE neuron structures as observed by relative fluorescent intensities and relative size of fluorescent puncta of cell bodies, relative lengths of sensory endings in ASE neurons, and the expression patterns of che-1 were obviously altered in metal exposed animals when they meanwhile exhibited obvious chemotaxis defects to water-soluble attractants. In addition, the dendrite morphology could be noticeably changed in animals exposed to 150 μmol/L of Pb, Cu, and Ag. Furthermore, we observed significant decreases of chemotaxis to water-soluble attractants in Pb exposed che-1 mutant at concentrations more than 2.5 μmol/L, and in Cu, Ag, and Cr exposed che-1 mutant at concentrations more than 50 μmol/L. Therefore, impairment of the ASE neuron structures and functions may largely contribute to the appearance of chemotaxis defects to water-soluble attractants in metal exposed nematodes.展开更多

The identification of an attractant that inc...Pocket gophers (Geomyidae) have an extensive impact on both natural and agricultural systems. Trapping is a tech- nique often used to sample and manage these populations. The identification of an attractant that increases capture rates of pocket gophers would greatly assist researchers and pest management professionals alike. Therefore, we tested the attractiveness of four attractants (peanut butter, anise, grapefruit attractant, and carrot) plus a control (no attractant) using uncovered and covered trap sets to determine what impact they have on visitation and capture rates of pocket gophers. We also determined how the impact of cover status and attractants differ across varying weights and gender of pocket gophers. We found no direct effect of any attracrant on visitation and capture rates of pocket gophers, nor on the gender of captured individuals. However, when no attractant was used, the mtmber of pocket gophers captured per 100 trap nights was greater when trap sets were uncovered vs. when covered, and capture rates were generally high and consistent when using peanut butter as an attractant. Additionally, we noted that covered trap sets that were baited with peanut butter yielded heavier pocket gopher captures than uncovered trap sets using this same attractant. This is key, given the difficulty associated with capturing older, more experienced individuals. Combined with data from a previous investigation, this suggests that there is no advantage to using any attractant when utilizing uncovered trap sets, but there is likely some benefit to using peanut butter in covered trap sets [Current Zoology 60 (4): 472-478, 2014].展开更多
[ Objective] The aim was to study the effects of four feeding attractants(dimethyl-15-propiothetin, trimethylamine oxide, betaine, sodium- 5'-inosinate) on feed intake, growth performance, body composition, digesti...[ Objective] The aim was to study the effects of four feeding attractants(dimethyl-15-propiothetin, trimethylamine oxide, betaine, sodium- 5'-inosinate) on feed intake, growth performance, body composition, digestive enzyme activities and serum indices of Hucho taimen with initial body weight 9.39 ±0.26 g. [ Method] The Hucho taimen was raised in water flow system. There was one control group and four process group. Each diet was randomly assigned to triplicates of 50 fish for 56 days. During the experiment, the water temperature fluctuated from 9.3℃ to 14.2℃ and the dissolved oxygen was above 8.0 mg/L. [ Result ] The weight gain rate and specific growth rate increased significantly by adding 0.2% dimethyl- 13-propiothetin, 0.2% trimethylamine oxide, 0.2% betaine, but there were no changes with 0.05% sodium-5'-inosinate supplementation ( P 〉 0.05). The body crude protein increased significantly by supplementing 0.2% dimethyl-15-propiothetin( P 〈0.05), and body crude lipid decreased signifi- cantly by adding 0.2% trimethylamine oxide and 0.2% betaine( P 〈0.05), but body composition had no changes by supplementing 0.05% sodium- 5'-inosinate( P 〉0.05). The digestive enzyme activities increased significantly by adding 0.2% dimethyl-13-propiothetin and 0.2% trimethylamine oxide( P 〈0.05), and the lipase increased significantly by supplementing 0.2% betaine( P 〈 0.05), but digestive enzyme activities had no changes supplemented 0.05% sodium-5'-inosinate( P 〉 0.05). The serum total protein, albumin and globulin increased significantly added 0.2% dimethyl-15- propiothetin( P 〈0.05), and the high density lipoprotein content increased while cholesterol, triglycedde and low density lipoprotein decreased sig- nificantly added 0.2% trimethylamine oxide and 0.2% betaine( P 〈 0.05), and serum complement 3 and complement 4 increased significantly sup- plemented 0.05% sodium-5'-inosinate ( P 〈 0.05). [ Conclusion] The food intake, growth performance, body composition and digestive ability of taimen were improved supplemented with 0.2% dimethyl-15-propiothetin, 0.2% trimethylamine oxide and 0.2% betaine, respectively( P 〈 0.05), but not 0.05% sodium-5'-inosinate. [Objective]The paper was to explore the comprehensive sexual attraction control technology of main pests in broccoli,and to improve the green control technology of main pests in broccoli.[Method]The comprehensive cont...[Objective]The paper was to explore the comprehensive sexual attraction control technology of main pests in broccoli,and to improve the green control technology of main pests in broccoli.[Method]The comprehensive control technology of sex attractants against major pests in broccoli was studied by using special sex attractants,lures and traps.[Result]The mixed quantities of Spodoptera litura,Spodoptera exigua and Plutella xylostella were fluctuated in a"W"shape in broccoli growing season in coastal area of Taizhou,central Zhejiang province,including seedling growth period(July to August),rosette and bud growth period(late September to early November),late harvest period of late-ripening broccoli(after early march).S.exigua and S.litura occurred severely at seedling stage;S.litura,S.exigua and P.xylostella occurred simultaneously at rosette and bud growth period;P.xylostella damaged florets of lateral branches in late harvest period.The trapping effects of combination A and E against S.litura,S.exigua and P.xylostella were the best;more than 1260 individuals of S.litura,S.exigua and P.xylostella were daily trapped per hectare,and the occurrence and damage of the three insect pests could be basically controlled.With the sex attract produced in Ningbo as an example,the combination of S.litura S type∶S.exigua S type∶P.xylostella blue type=1∶1∶4 distributed in five stars of clubs(space 10-20 cm)showed good comprehensive trapping effect in large area demonstration;traps were hung at the height of 0.5 m(0.2 m for P.xylostella),and lures were replaced once every 30-40 d.[Conclusion]Using special sex attractants,the comprehensive effects on S.litura,S.exigua and P.xylostella were determined at rosette and bud growth period of broccoli through combination modes,and supporting application technology were put forward,making great progress in exploring and improving sex attractant combination against insect pests.展开更多

The fall armyworm(Spodoptera frugiperda)is an invasive species and a destructive pest of maize,which significantly impacts native species and communities via complex mechanisms like competition for resources.However,t...The fall armyworm(Spodoptera frugiperda)is an invasive species and a destructive pest of maize,which significantly impacts native species and communities via complex mechanisms like competition for resources.However,the interaction between S.frugiperda and local pests remains unclear.In this study,we determined that Oriental armyworm(Mythimna separata)females with different mating status displayed different approach-avoidance behaviors towards maize which was infested by S.frugiperda larvae.The virgin M.separata females were repelled,while the mated females were attracted by the S.frugiperda-infested maize.To further understand the olfactory mechanism of this phenomenon,seven volatiles induced by S.frugiperda in maize were characterized by gas chromatography and mass spectrometry(GC-MS),including trans-2-hexenal,linalool,trans-β-farnesene,cis-3-hexenyl acetate,β-caryophyllene,trans-α-bergamotene,and isopentyl acetate.Additionally,electrophysiological and behavioral assays of the seven compounds were performed using both virgin and mated females of M.separata.We determined that virgin and mated females displayed different responses to the herbivore-induced plant volatile(HIPV).Trans-β-farnesene was the core compound for repelling virgin females,and trans-2-hexenal was the key attractant for oviposition in mated female M.separata individuals.These findings help our comprehension of the relationships between maize pests and offer new possibilities for controlling them by olfactory-based strategies.展开更多

This "breakthrough" not onl...Wide-bandgap two-dimensional (2D) β-TeO_(2) has been reported as a high-mobility p-type transparent semiconductor [Nat. Electron. 4 277 (2021)], attracting significant attention. This "breakthrough" not only challenges the conventional characterization of TeO_(2) as an insulator but also conflicts with the anticipated difficulty in hole doping of TeO_(2) by established chemical trends. Notably, the reported Fermi level of 0.9 eV above the valence band maximum actually suggests that the material is an insulator, contradicting the high hole density obtained by Hall effect measurement. Furthermore, the detected residual Se and the possible reduced elemental Te in the 2D β-TeO_(2) samples introduces complexity, considering that elemental Se, Te, and Te_(1−x)Se_(x) themselves are high-mobility p-type semiconductors. Therefore, doubts regarding the true cause of the p-type conductivity observed in the 2D β-TeO_(2) samples arise. In this Letter, we employ density functional theory calculations to illustrate that TeO_(2), whether in its bulk forms of α-, β-, or γ-TeO_(2), or in the 2D β-TeO_(2) nanosheets, inherently exhibits insulating properties and poses challenges in carrier doping due to its shallow conduction band minimum and deep valence band maximum. Our findings shed light on the insulating properties and doping difficulty of TeO_(2), contrasting with the claimed p-type conductivity in the 2D β-TeO_(2) samples, prompting inquiries into the true origin of the p-type conductivity.展开更多

The measurement of the pairing gap is crucial for investigating the physical properties of superconductors or superfluids.We propose a strategy to measure the pairing gap through the dynamical excitations.With the ran...The measurement of the pairing gap is crucial for investigating the physical properties of superconductors or superfluids.We propose a strategy to measure the pairing gap through the dynamical excitations.With the random phase approximation(RPA),we study the dynamical excitations of a two-dimensional attractive Fermi-Hubbard model by calculating its dynamical structure factor.Two distinct collective modes emerge:a Goldstone phonon mode at transferred momentum q=[0,0]and a roton mode at q=[p,p].The roton mode exhibits a sharp molecular peak in the low-energy regime.Notably,the area under the roton molecular peak scales with the square of the pairing gap,which holds even in three-dimensional and spin-orbit coupled(SOC)optical lattices.This finding suggests an experimental approach to measure the pairing gap in lattice systems by analyzing the dynamical structure factor at q=[p,p].展开更多

However, existing ultramicroelectrodes(UMEs) suffer from narrow electrochemical window and poor electrode interface adhesion, severely hindering the application of precise single NP analysis. Here, we propose a simple and effective interface modification strategy. By electrochemically self-assembling poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride)(PC) on the surface of carbon nanocone electrodes(CNCEs), we successfully prepared PC-modified CNCEs(PC–CNCEs). These electrodes not only possess sufficiently wide electrochemical window but also exhibit strong adhesion to negatively charged Ag NPs on their surfaces. Surface physical analysis and electrochemical molecule detection validated the high-density loading of PC on the modified electrodes. Furthermore, the working principle of PC–CNCEs for single Ag NP collision detection was further verified through the techniques of nanocollision and double-potential steps. Leveraging these significant advantages, PC–CNCEs not only achieved precise measurements of single or mixed-sized Ag NPs but also detected Ag NP solutions at concentrations as low as fmol/L levels. This advancement offers a new strategy for the rapid and precise analysis of NP colloids.展开更多

文摘[ Objective] The aim was to study the effects of four feeding attractants(dimethyl-15-propiothetin, trimethylamine oxide, betaine, sodium- 5'-inosinate) on feed intake, growth performance, body composition, digestive enzyme activities and serum indices of Hucho taimen with initial body weight 9.39 ±0.26 g. [ Method] The Hucho taimen was raised in water flow system. There was one control group and four process group. Each diet was randomly assigned to triplicates of 50 fish for 56 days. During the experiment, the water temperature fluctuated from 9.3℃ to 14.2℃ and the dissolved oxygen was above 8.0 mg/L. [ Result ] The weight gain rate and specific growth rate increased significantly by adding 0.2% dimethyl- 13-propiothetin, 0.2% trimethylamine oxide, 0.2% betaine, but there were no changes with 0.05% sodium-5'-inosinate supplementation ( P 〉 0.05). The body crude protein increased significantly by supplementing 0.2% dimethyl-15-propiothetin( P 〈0.05), and body crude lipid decreased signifi- cantly by adding 0.2% trimethylamine oxide and 0.2% betaine( P 〈0.05), but body composition had no changes by supplementing 0.05% sodium- 5'-inosinate( P 〉0.05). The digestive enzyme activities increased significantly by adding 0.2% dimethyl-13-propiothetin and 0.2% trimethylamine oxide( P 〈0.05), and the lipase increased significantly by supplementing 0.2% betaine( P 〈 0.05), but digestive enzyme activities had no changes supplemented 0.05% sodium-5'-inosinate( P 〉 0.05). The serum total protein, albumin and globulin increased significantly added 0.2% dimethyl-15- propiothetin( P 〈0.05), and the high density lipoprotein content increased while cholesterol, triglycedde and low density lipoprotein decreased sig- nificantly added 0.2% trimethylamine oxide and 0.2% betaine( P 〈 0.05), and serum complement 3 and complement 4 increased significantly sup- plemented 0.05% sodium-5'-inosinate ( P 〈 0.05). [ Conclusion] The food intake, growth performance, body composition and digestive ability of taimen were improved supplemented with 0.2% dimethyl-15-propiothetin, 0.2% trimethylamine oxide and 0.2% betaine, respectively( P 〈 0.05), but not 0.05% sodium-5'-inosinate. The immunity of body was improved by adding 0.05% sodium-5'-inosinate.

文摘[Objective]The paper was to explore the comprehensive sexual attraction control technology of main pests in broccoli,and to improve the green control technology of main pests in broccoli.[Method]The comprehensive control technology of sex attractants against major pests in broccoli was studied by using special sex attractants,lures and traps.[Result]The mixed quantities of Spodoptera litura,Spodoptera exigua and Plutella xylostella were fluctuated in a"W"shape in broccoli growing season in coastal area of Taizhou,central Zhejiang province,including seedling growth period(July to August),rosette and bud growth period(late September to early November),late harvest period of late-ripening broccoli(after early march).S.exigua and S.litura occurred severely at seedling stage;S.litura,S.exigua and P.xylostella occurred simultaneously at rosette and bud growth period;P.xylostella damaged florets of lateral branches in late harvest period.The trapping effects of combination A and E against S.litura,S.exigua and P.xylostella were the best;more than 1260 individuals of S.litura,S.exigua and P.xylostella were daily trapped per hectare,and the occurrence and damage of the three insect pests could be basically controlled.With the sex attract produced in Ningbo as an example,the combination of S.litura S type∶S.exigua S type∶P.xylostella blue type=1∶1∶4 distributed in five stars of clubs(space 10-20 cm)showed good comprehensive trapping effect in large area demonstration;traps were hung at the height of 0.5 m(0.2 m for P.xylostella),and lures were replaced once every 30-40 d.[Conclusion]Using special sex attractants,the comprehensive effects on S.litura,S.exigua and P.xylostella were determined at rosette and bud growth period of broccoli through combination modes,and supporting application technology were put forward,making great progress in exploring and improving sex attractant combination against insect pests.

文摘The fall armyworm(Spodoptera frugiperda)is an invasive species and a destructive pest of maize,which significantly impacts native species and communities via complex mechanisms like competition for resources.However,the interaction between S.frugiperda and local pests remains unclear.In this study,we determined that Oriental armyworm(Mythimna separata)females with different mating status displayed different approach-avoidance behaviors towards maize which was infested by S.frugiperda larvae.The virgin M.separata females were repelled,while the mated females were attracted by the S.frugiperda-infested maize.To further understand the olfactory mechanism of this phenomenon,seven volatiles induced by S.frugiperda in maize were characterized by gas chromatography and mass spectrometry(GC-MS),including trans-2-hexenal,linalool,trans-β-farnesene,cis-3-hexenyl acetate,β-caryophyllene,trans-α-bergamotene,and isopentyl acetate.Additionally,electrophysiological and behavioral assays of the seven compounds were performed using both virgin and mated females of M.separata.We determined that virgin and mated females displayed different responses to the herbivore-induced plant volatile(HIPV).Trans-β-farnesene was the core compound for repelling virgin females,and trans-2-hexenal was the key attractant for oviposition in mated female M.separata individuals.These findings help our comprehension of the relationships between maize pests and offer new possibilities for controlling them by olfactory-based strategies.

文摘Wide-bandgap two-dimensional (2D) β-TeO_(2) has been reported as a high-mobility p-type transparent semiconductor [Nat. Electron. 4 277 (2021)], attracting significant attention. This "breakthrough" not only challenges the conventional characterization of TeO_(2) as an insulator but also conflicts with the anticipated difficulty in hole doping of TeO_(2) by established chemical trends. Notably, the reported Fermi level of 0.9 eV above the valence band maximum actually suggests that the material is an insulator, contradicting the high hole density obtained by Hall effect measurement. Furthermore, the detected residual Se and the possible reduced elemental Te in the 2D β-TeO_(2) samples introduces complexity, considering that elemental Se, Te, and Te_(1−x)Se_(x) themselves are high-mobility p-type semiconductors. Therefore, doubts regarding the true cause of the p-type conductivity observed in the 2D β-TeO_(2) samples arise. In this Letter, we employ density functional theory calculations to illustrate that TeO_(2), whether in its bulk forms of α-, β-, or γ-TeO_(2), or in the 2D β-TeO_(2) nanosheets, inherently exhibits insulating properties and poses challenges in carrier doping due to its shallow conduction band minimum and deep valence band maximum. Our findings shed light on the insulating properties and doping difficulty of TeO_(2), contrasting with the claimed p-type conductivity in the 2D β-TeO_(2) samples, prompting inquiries into the true origin of the p-type conductivity.

文摘Raman spectroscopy offers a great power to detect,analyze and identify molecules,and monitor their temporal dynamics and evolution when combined with single-molecule surface-enhanced Raman scattering(SM-SERS)substrates.Here we present a SM-SERS scheme that involves simultaneously giant chemical enhancement from WS22D materials,giant electromagnetic enhancement from plasmonic nanogap hot spot,and inhibition of molecular fluorescence influence under near-infrared laser illumination.Remarkably we find Coulomb attraction between analyte and gold nanoparticle can trigger spontaneous formation of molecule-hotspot pairing with high precision,stability and robustness.The scheme has enabled realization of universal,robust,fast,and large-scale uniform SM-SERS detection for three Raman molecules of rhodamine B,rhodamine 6G,and crystal violet with a very low detection limit of 10−16 M and at a very fast spectrum acquisition time of 50 ms.

文摘The measurement of the pairing gap is crucial for investigating the physical properties of superconductors or superfluids.We propose a strategy to measure the pairing gap through the dynamical excitations.With the random phase approximation(RPA),we study the dynamical excitations of a two-dimensional attractive Fermi-Hubbard model by calculating its dynamical structure factor.Two distinct collective modes emerge:a Goldstone phonon mode at transferred momentum q=[0,0]and a roton mode at q=[p,p].The roton mode exhibits a sharp molecular peak in the low-energy regime.Notably,the area under the roton molecular peak scales with the square of the pairing gap,which holds even in three-dimensional and spin-orbit coupled(SOC)optical lattices.This finding suggests an experimental approach to measure the pairing gap in lattice systems by analyzing the dynamical structure factor at q=[p,p].

文摘For nano-collision, regulating the interaction between nanoparticles(NPs) and electrode interfaces is crucial for the precise analysis of individual NPs. However, existing ultramicroelectrodes(UMEs) suffer from narrow electrochemical window and poor electrode interface adhesion, severely hindering the application of precise single NP analysis. Here, we propose a simple and effective interface modification strategy. By electrochemically self-assembling poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride)(PC) on the surface of carbon nanocone electrodes(CNCEs), we successfully prepared PC-modified CNCEs(PC–CNCEs). These electrodes not only possess sufficiently wide electrochemical window but also exhibit strong adhesion to negatively charged Ag NPs on their surfaces. Surface physical analysis and electrochemical molecule detection validated the high-density loading of PC on the modified electrodes. Furthermore, the working principle of PC–CNCEs for single Ag NP collision detection was further verified through the techniques of nanocollision and double-potential steps. Leveraging these significant advantages, PC–CNCEs not only achieved precise measurements of single or mixed-sized Ag NPs but also detected Ag NP solutions at concentrations as low as fmol/L levels. This advancement offers a new strategy for the rapid and precise analysis of NP colloids.
